Door trash is in the decline. It’s just been horrible the last few months. Today’s just another example. Six hours, $22.91. To all the new people, don’t believe the commercials/advertisements. It’s a shit show.
In my experience the only way DD is worth the time is to work only the mealtime shifts, any shift over 4 hours just results in long periods where there are no orders. However, if you just work 3 hours around lunch time and another 4 hours around dinner time you end up with a much better hourly rate.
I’ve started to notice the same, just segment the day up a little.
What time would you consider lunch and dinner? During those times there is alot of traffic doesn’t that waste more time and gas?
I go out and dash from 8-12. Head home and chill at home till 430ish and make sure I'm online by 450. Last trip by 9:15pm. 8 hour shift will be a long day for me $200 daily in 8 hours is do able. Hawaii market
It is the same way where I live in N.C. I would have to dash around 12 hours to make $200. However; I have received some random orders and the tips have been really good. I made almost $50 by just one delivery the other day. That is my biggest tip so far. Lol
On DD's last earning's call they said they had +30% or 40% in the number of DD drivers currently over the last year. I think DD corporate has realized if they oversaturate the market with drivers they don't have to pay as much for deliveries and it lowers their costs...so here we are. I'm making ~$20 hr during lunch time in what I'd consider a good suburban market (large and lots of disposable income), but the $20hr average and only by taking good orders and its just $20hr. Below $20 hr and its not worth it since its your car / gas etc.. I'm afraid it's not the good gig job it was a year ago.
Yeah I didn't realize just how overpopulated doordash is. Tryna go into town to do this promo for 200 bucks for 15 deliveries and it won't even let me dash. Fuck doordash.. 😢
I had the same problem. Third day of door dash. First day I made 90 in three hours, it was a Sunday. The third day, 100 for eight hours, with ALOT of time in-between orders
You’re absolutely right it is slow in my market. I’m in Salem Oregon. This is the worst I’ve ever seen it and I depend on this money to pay my rent. My bills and well everything. It sucks.
Same here. I am in one of the largest and wealthiest cities. I think that this is a result of greed and mis-management on behalf of Doordash. Their lack of attention that they used to give is resulting in customers from whole small towns quitting the ordering process. If you don’t give a whole town the attention it needs to keep a whole town’s customer base, there’s something seriously wrong with a company. I used to call Doordash and have problems fixed wherever I was at. Ever since they changed customer service employees, I don’t bother. They seem extremely disinterested in the company. Whereas, the previous customer service was essentially running Doordash.
Certain markets have way too many drivers. Here in Orlando, FL it's getting ridiculous.
😂😂
It’s bad in Pensacola too
what happened to the market here. it started to slow down this month but the last couple of days its been brutal@@Emersynhix
I hate Orlando drivers. Very rude!
Yeah it’s getting bad
Quit doordash a while ago man. Waste of mileage and dealin w too my customers n workers. Im full time on instacart now and easily make $200+ weekends and drive less for higher item orders. Once you kno the store really well. 40 items is a 20 min shop. So easy $25+ drivin like 4 miles. Love it. Tony is cheeks
I’ll have to try it out
I make more with instacart also. People need to have more than one app.
Strongly dislike incart it stressed me out.
My wife does instacart on the weekends for a few hours and does pretty well. You just got to know the stores well.
Most of the apps in my area of tampa bay area are not taking any more drivers. The gig scene is really really oversaturated.
It's been feast or famine lately, but Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are still possible for me to hit $180.00 to $200.00 in 8 hours.
Depends on your market. For me yes, consistently
Doordash is dying in Nashville. The demand is there, but too many drivers. Lyft, even with dashcam footage proving my innocence, still deactivated me over a false accusation. I've tried 3 times to appeal it. Their excuses literally, word for word, is "The dashcam proves you did not say what you were accused of saying, but we have to take accusations seriously so this deactivation is final." I hate them with a passion. Uber by itself is not enough in my market. If I had access to Lyft again, I could go back to gig work full time.
Move on better things are ahead if dd doesn’t value you move on to someone who does
Yes...in my market it's possible. Been consistent for a while now..
Same here. It’s getting to the point where it’s not worth it anymore. It’s just a side gig so I’ll be fine but I do miss the extra cash flow.
I truly wonder how people do gig jobs full time!
Did you get the Cliff notes version of Doordash Q3 earnings call? Very good numbers on new customers and orders year over year. I think anyone driving for DD semi seriously should spend 5-10 four times a year to get info from these calls. I think new Dashers added for Q4 order surge is big issue now. DD trying to get more shop and pay customers and this requires more drivers than just a typical customer ordering McDonald's as the time to shop and deliver on avg is typically longer than a food run. I also think AR really matters in slower times and people with low AR are being punished.
We just started and hit the 200 in a snowstorm last night. It was a big challenge as newbies.
Its slowed way down here in Alabama too
Uber and Lyft makes me do a lot of miles. So, my earnings are behind of 1 dollar per mile. But I was able to get $400 per 12 hours shift, and about 450 miles driven. So, if your car is doesn't matter for you, it is possible to get 350-400$ per 12 hours per 400-500 miles. It's in southern California.
You can hit $200 any day of the week. Depends on zone
There are also a lot of inactive drivers who I think should be booted to make room for new ones since this is not a job where u quit u just kind of stop and go back when u want
Im in atlanta signed up & driving in less than 24 hours
I feel like with the oversaturation it really pays off to be a top dasher, and I usually make really good money doing earn by time.
It’s almost identical in my market as well. I have to multi app to make any money at all.
I'm in the Central New Jersey market and until last July 2023 I was able to easily make $300 in at 10 to 11 hours shift. August was a terrible month because people were on vacation however I've noticed that September October and now mid November things are not picking up as they used to be. Now it's mid-november and I can barely make $200 in a 10 to 11 hour shift. I believe the problem is either there are way too many drivers in each market or because of the bad economy people are not tipping as much as they used to so it's a lot harder to get good paying orders
In some markets you're competing with drivers facing car repossession or eviction. Those drivers are thrilled to profit less than minimum wage after expenses. That makes most offers lower outside of lunch rush / dinner rush. The last 18 months has been less rosey for gig app workers. The people taking these low dollar offers will be angry when their car needs tires or needs to be replaced sooner than later! 😮
Yea I’m in central jersey. It’s nothing like last year. I remember last June July. I thought I found a golden goose. But rite now it’s bad
Thank you for confirming that the market is bad in general. I thought that this was happening only to me and so far I have lost about 30-40% of my monthly income.@@aleleam5649
in Thornton, CO.... went dashing today, doordash is only releasing hour incriments.... started at 5:30.....ended at 6:30.....would not let me back in... waited 46 minutes before I headed home.... also started a incentive program today.... complete 6 orders and her a 9 dollar bonus... I would have smashed it but it wouldn't let me in....
Ive been doing earn by time, averages 25-30 an hour. If an order takes 30 mins you get 7.50 in my market plus tips. But if its by order and it takes 30 mins you only get the base pay. I find every couple orders there are good tips too
Interesting, what’s the earn by time wage in your area?
@MooreFinance 15 when normal, 19 when peak Pay usually but that's when I do shifts.
@@nathanh.6827so would you recommend doing earn by order or earn by time during peak pay?
Earn by time is $10-12 in Las Vegas… nope Walmart pays more than that hourly. 😬😬😬
Thats what i do and i always avg $20 an hour . I only do weekends with promos
My area has gotten A LOT worse over the past year. Switched to another area and I'm seeing much better pay, low 20's an hour.
That market has a lot of college students that refuse to tip, I've met people that do 11 hour shifts with door dash making 1200-1400 a week but that's going out every day all day.
Yeah true
Lunch is the worst in the Provo market. It's only good money when there is a lot of traffic and the late night runs when all the drunk/stoners want food. @@Moore.Driven
Yeah. Lot of college students, i purposely accepted one and sent him a message, if it’s nice of him for me to drive for 8mi for $4..
If he was the driver, would he have driven down? then i declined the order..very bunch of w!cked students..
Yikes I've been thinking of joining door dash to pay off credit card bills. I currently work and live near a University...guess I better not dash in this area.
It's good for extra money for bills but I couldn't live off their zero dollar tips. You can do earn by time and make more though.@@Alum22
DD wit this 2.50 base pay iz utter disrespect & iss jus that bad that we accept it insteada unionyzin
Yeh…
Do you do any hourly rate orders? I think it’s the best feature they’ve added. I DD between 5PM-4AM and usually average $19-$23/hour.
I never select their hourly rates. The few times I have, I was way overly exhausted after 12 hours, and spent almost 45% of my income on gas. A driver should expect to spend no more than 1/3 on expenses. If it ever exceeds 1/3, Doordash is not only not-profitable, but at the end of the year a Dasher is paying more in car expenses and the 1/3 which results in half of minimum wage pay for the year. It seems like more recently this company is going further and further downhill, honestly. Their customer service has gotten poor. Every time I turn around I feel like they’re limiting my pay, or require me to pay more expenses to meet their customers needs. Overall bad management has surfaced.
What day are you doing this on ?
Im in Washington state and we have hourly and that was a game changer i can make 30 an hour most days. On most days i can make 100 in the beginning of my day. Bevause its 18 an hour plus tip and then at night a lot of times im making 22-24 an hour plus tip.... I wont go back from hourly!!!!
Uber eats totally sucks on the Jersey shore even during the summer… Like almost half the money of dash.
if you not in large order program it hard but with it easy
I just got back to doordash after a 6 mo vacation. Its bad in my area los angeles.
We thought that you had been deactivated with DD again 😂 DD hasn’t been paying well in my area lately but I’ve always multi apped. Just more now than ever
Yeah it’s a must to multi app these days
@@Moore.DrivenI work in suburban Chicago and my market is usually busy, especially during dinner hours.
You’re lucky to make 40 in my market and that’s even if you stay out 12 hours. I think with the lockdowns being over, people aren’t having food brought them as much.
Yeah that could be it
I actually just got door dash. I spent about 2 1/2 hours for $23 in texas today lol
I think your location matters, I live on the Jersey shore and can do $200 and an eight hour shift seven days a week, now that the summer has ended my $200 days I generally only done on Monday and Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Not in my area there’s too many drivers
Here in Houston dd sucks I only make 100$ a day if I work 10 hours and it's simply not a livable wage because there are many often times where there's no demand for deliverie for an entire day. In my experience doordash isn't worth it in the long run. Once I worked 2 hours and only made 12$.
For me I can do $200 plus BUT only because Im in one of the biggest markets and ONLY Fri-Sun working all day
Gonna leave doordash this month 😢 will just do it for 1-2 days a week for extra 200 -300 bucks
In my city only top dasher make any money but only average 20 bucks an hour my wife is a top dasher I'm at 19 percent and now I only get the bad left over orders cherry picking days are over I fear
Top Dasher doesn’t even mean anything. They try to control our hourly rates now. We still get more time options, but they incentive to work for a high profit is nonexistent. I even make late night decisions on whether it’s a cost benefit to add in five extra dollars in gas to make a breakeven amount of $150 to $130, or simply go home for the night at a $10 loss. Not having a profit incentive has made me feel very disgusted about Doordash. I have worked for several of these type of tech companies. Doordash was one of the only legitimate companies alongside Lyft and Uber. Tech companies like Zazzle, Amazon mechanical Turk or Cleaning companies all scam their contractors wages in one form or another. In the beginning Doordash was highly spoken of by myself. Not anymore. I constantly feel like I’m at war with Doordash just to make a living. No worker should have their energy focused on that type of negativity.
yes
When I was in Utah I NEVER took those Sodalicious orders. I hated them. I always saw $2-3 + high miles + 8+ drinks lmao. How can a man fit 8+ drinks in their car? Other than that Utah dashing was nice. However, I did return in March of 2023 and I had top Dasher and I saw way better orders than what you got lol.
It's possible you just need to be in the right market
Does the doordash earning adjustment make a difference? In a week only dashing for a bit after reg work shift i made 117.75 for 5hrs active time. Then doordash gave me another 70.72 as earning adjustment. Meaning they gave me 188.47 for 5 active hrs. That comes to about 37$ an hour? Is this pay adjustment really new because i feel its worth it. (only been dashing for 3 weeks so far)
I made 230$ yesterday in doordash never made that amount in a day before thank😇
It will continue to go down. If you think its bad now, there are drivers in rideshare (uber/lyft) transporting people for $3-$4
I was wondering about that amount with Lyft as I took a 20 minute ride at $7.50 which is extremely affordable. I think that these companies try too hard to appease the customer, and then sneak in profit making techniques. The same week I got a ride for $7.50, I had to get a ride early at 7 AM and this ride started off at $60 which was unbelievable. Those sneaky tactics are costing all of these companies customers. When drivers with DoorDash feel like they’re being undercut and underappreciated they simply just drop the order anywhere because they feel like they’re not being respected in their money. I have frequently spoken with management at about doordashers stealing orders. It is so common around our area for restaurant team members to believe that Doordash contractors are stealing the orders. When I get a dirty look from an employee- as if I am a thief- I have to explain to the manager that Doordash drivers are not stealing their orders. After investigating the situation, I simply found that the Dashers were new Dashers and mishandling the orders. But the carelessness from the Dasher is going to surface as a matter of disrespect the dasher feels when his profit is a mere $20-$30 after a five hour shift.
Door dash is slow in my market i have to multiapp to make this whole gig shit work
Yeah. All the motivated people start early and get orders then once all the lazy dashers get up the market is saturated and you just sit around.
How do you discipline yourself to not want to.go home, when its during the quiet time?
I used to be able to make $100 within a few hours, then go back out and make even more than that the rest of the day. But nowadays I barely barely make 100. Wtf?! This beyond frustrating!
What's your acceptance rating? Aedin
You can but it's gonna take a lot of hours and gas
I made 300$ with a promotional deal where I live of delivering 20 orders
I just started working tonight. In my area i live in a hot zone next to all the restaurants. But i only accepted two orders. so I made about $30 within 1 hour lol I had 5 offers would of made more. =\
SE Phx, met a fellow dashr who showd me hiz intake. Yup, he manages sumhow, idk. Takes me 8 hrz 2 make 💯 😒
Yeah it’s gotten bad
Most I've made in 9 hours was $240. I've been dashing 2 years and did $200+ only 4 times. All those times were in my first year dashing. This past year, the most I've made is $160+/-. Very frustrating considering the hours I put in! I've done almost 4500 deliveries, and usually dash 6 days/week. I try to make $100/day, and used to do it fairly easily but those days seem to be gone! And I'm in Canada btw.
i’m in Canada too. i think door dash is so poor here brav.. What province are you in?
Ontario in a university town.
You should enjoy doing Door Dash in Ontario compare to other provinces. I’m in Halifax NS
What's the difference between a Canadian and a canoe?
The canoe tips
if you work 10 hours or more they limit the orders you can accept in a certain amount of time
Interesting, I have yet to see this
Its dead for me as well.
Every one cab sign up for solo but door dash has earn by time and u won't have down time
Ive been dashing since December 2021 . About exactly 2 years now. And i have noticed many changes in just that short amount of time. Good and bad.
Yeah it’s always changing
The good, the bad, and the ugly?
@@brianbeecher3084 yea mann 4 real
bruh you're dashing in orem/provo that area is over saturated with dashers and no tippers
True
I would never take these crappy orders you take
Yeah… unfortunately those were the best of the ones that got sent my way😂
I get about $13 per hour on good days in Pensacola Florida
That's poor you know
@@doordsshdriver I agree. It is low
@@phillipsmith7759 I make almost 200 everyday but am scared
whats city?
Not in Las Vegas- you can do 8 hours on a Saturday--make $80 - it’s about 10-12 an hour… not worth your gas and
Uber eats is all $2.20 orders that you keep declining then comes back as $15 but you have 8 deliveries! 😳😳😳. Not worth it the glory days are OVER!
Not enough orders in my area to make 200.00 per day. 100 per day more like it.
I made $356 yesterday in roughly 7 1/2 hours. It's entirely possible.
I see Uber orders $3/20+ miles it shouldn’t even be legal for them to offer those
What else is this guy going to do for work?
Not even making a hundred a day
I made $312 in Doordash alone in 11 hrs
I’ve noticed changes…
Yeahhh…
No,,you can not make shite with Doordarsh period 😂😂😂
In my market you can’t make $50 a day which is why I never even open the app anymore
i average 125.00 -150.00 in a 4-5 hour time span can not get much more than that because i accept every order and still can not get over 150
Of course it is. I make over $200 a day easy.
I didn’t know you can pick up DoorDash orders through the drive-through?
When the lobby is locked you can.
If you literally did a 24-hour shift, it still might be impossible to make $200 for DoorDash or Uber eats
Just starting out , I have been easrning an hjourly rate of 10-11 an hour .. like, 2 runs an hour ..granted, not all peak times .. but about that. Glad I have reduced my overhead by scotter delivery during nice weather
Not even close
Use to earn lots of money doing Uber Eats and Doordash
I work 8 hours 4 days a week, 11:30 -7:30, most days if I make $100 by 3:30 I will hit $200. So you worked the slowest time of day then complain you didn’t make any money.
Oh yea I got ur same schedule with a 85% AR and make at most $60-75 a day. Big talk buddy but everyone’s market is different
Maybe if I worked 14 hours a day. I'm good, I like my car. Why you taking $3 orders? You must hate yourself?!
No way, you didn't receive $7 for 18 miles. Aedin
Never in a million years would take $10 for 14 miles...!!!!!....ntnt.
I've never made $200 in a day with Door Dash
I did it once took 13 hours tho smh
Columbus Ohio is bad too too many drivers
There is way too many drivers out here.....
Try a new zone
DoorDash pays Pennies
I make made 200 in day on Mitsubishi gallant lol
Is true doordash is dead
Guys I just made 180$
Yes im doing at least 250 per day
Nice! What market are you in?
@@Moore.Driven downtown los angeles , hollywood, koreatown but I have to work like 10h at least
I am at $149 in three days. Door trash is just horrible, and I worked in all available zones today and only made $22 in 6 hours. Pretty sure they’re trying to work me and other people out of the market. They will succeed if they keep this nonsense up.
Gig drivers could change this level of wage prostitution in a day. Refuse to drive nation wide. But. The cowardice among the gig drivers is too much. Enjoy your wage poverty.
Yeah basically
The illegal aliens aren't going to strike with you, and they'll work for minimum wage. Here in Colorado we give drivers' license to illegals, then they jet to other states and use their licenses for DD and the like.
It turns out that those who said illegals only take the jobs Americans don't want were lying.
Tbh now in days you need to multi app to make 200
It's not 2019 2020 pandemic anymore get over it. Ur never gonna make that.money again. Adapt or move on
