I am physically disabled and do not get to travel in the ways I dream of. These videos are a gift, and I am so grateful that you share them. they're a wonderful 'escape' from my reality into a faraway land. Also the landscape of Norway is very similar to northern Canada, where I once lived
I can't explain why but I LOVE these videos! Thank you so much for taking the time to record and post them for us!! What a beautiful country.. I'm so jealous! :)
I can't tell you how much I enjoy the contrasts between Arizona and the all wonderful places you take us. One request... I would love to see the view out the rear of the train as it runs through the snow. What a cloud of powder it must leave!
Thank you so much for these videos. It's really fascinating to see the beautiful scenery of our neighbors from this perspective. I'd especially like to thank you for not ruining the dreamlike atmosphere with music. If people want to, they can play the music of their choice on the background. For me, the sounds of the train are a must.
I couldn't agree more with you. I used to live in France back in the 1970s, so I really miss those trains. We need them here in America, especially those of us who are totally blind, and that's about 11 million of us, not to mention those who are partially sighted.
Wow. After watching your newer videos, you can really tell the difference in quality. My kids also like your videos because they are so relaxing. Thank you for making and sharing them.
These videos are really entertaining and informative. I want to tell you that I, as a retired trainer have a lot more time on my hands than I once did. Your videos are a great incentive for people like ourselves to visit what you are showing us here. Perhaps there are people within your organization who should see this or at least productions like this. Also the information balloons you provide are a huge bonus, but as someone in the comments has already mentioned it takes a heck of a lot of time and effort. I will say the more you find the time to do the more popular they will be. I would also like to add making them longer is fine but hitting the pause button is not a big deal for me. Everyone gathers information at different paces and having longer balloons may or may not block the view of the scenery ahead. Hitting the pause button allows one to digest as well as read. I might add I have learned a lot by simply reading the comments. Obviously there are some very informed people on here!!!! Finally I also agree with the individual who said don't be shy about making a few comments as you deem appropriate. I thank you for your efforts and I will be travelling vicariously with you on your next run
I wasn't sure I was in Norway until around 42:00 when we finally went through a tunnel. (kidding) As always, the scenery is just amazing, and the addition of place names and signal information contributes a lot to the enjoyment of the trip. Some teachers find that reviewing information helps, and speaking only for me, I'd appreciate maybe after an hour or so of a first identification, just a reminder of what two greens on top of a flashing orange means. This is wonderful stuff, HinduCowGirl. Thank you for taking the time to include the technical items AND the elevation of the various stations. I don't know squat about Norway, except that it's beyond beautiful, but it helps to put a name on something. Thanks again.
I second that comment. It would be nice to know. In case you didn't know: Two greens over a flashing yellow means that you have entrance to the station on the through track (one green for entrance to a siding), but there is not yet made a clear to go on the exit signal on the other side of the station. This signal is kind of a yellow in other contries: expect stop, though we have two signaling pictures: one for the segment/station and one for the next signal to come.
I would also add that I respect that making all this information is very time consuming, and understands that it would take too long time to make this on all signals.
the snow on the ground. the yellowish white light from the train. the mountains and trees all around. the deeply purple coloring of the sky. makes for some rather dramatic and nice looking video. you done did good.
I'm having a hard time stopping watching if that makes sense but I cannot sit here another hour and a half. What wondrous beauty and scenery The Lord God Almighty has blessed Norway with. I live in the U.S. in the state of Illinois. We have beautiful scenery here in the U.S. But if I am ever able to travel that far I wouldn't mind touring Norway. You Norwegians have a very beautiful country and you keep it clean. We have a lot of litterbugs here in the U.S. in the big cities.
FANTASTIC VID AS I WAS A FIREMAN ON STEAM AND DEISEL IN THE LATE 60,S IN AUSTRALIA THIS BRINGS BACK A LOT OF MEMORRYS THANK YOU FOR RE KINDELING THE FIRE
This was a delight. I am so pleased that after watching your previous video output I had worked out the meaning of most of the signalling and wayside signs so it was a real treat to see I was broadly speaking right. Not right enough to be employed as a driver of course. The graphics and text are lovely and nicely positioned. I can see what you are trying to do. For me it's not an issue to go back and read the information again if i've not read it all, it only takes a few seconds. Thank you. You deserve a thank you.
FINALLY we can see what the lineside signalsand signs mean! Thank you for doing this. As an engineer myself I've been wondering what they all meant. Now we know. Keep up the good work HindCowGirl!! Lovin' every minute of it!!!
Thank you so very much, HinduCowGirl, for the superb video!!! Riding the rails at night is a new and enjoyable experience. I'm sure your viewers realize the extra work you did my editing your video to include explaining the meaning of different signals and signage. It is greatly appreciated!!!! I learned a lot that will make my viewing experience of future videos more enjoyable. I'm a huge train fan! With what I have learned, watching the next video will be like I'm operating the train! Again . . . thank you very much!!!!!!!
Oh goodness friend, the stark darkness and isolation before you arrive at Finse is unreal. Only the occasional light on a cottage is visible along with the distant flashing of the signals. It is just breathtaking...
Well this is just great, so much for me getting ANYTHING done in the office now! This video is PERFECT! Love the descriptions, the three way meet...wow wow wow...
These videos are always a great tour of such a beautiful country. It looks even more amazing during the sunset too, definitely a place I'd want to visit and see with my own eyes at some point in life.
You have quickly established yourself as having the best cab rides. I love these! Yeah the only thing I can recommend is that the graphics you make stay on the screen a little longer. For example on my own youtube channel of road videos I normally keep text on screen for at least 11 seconds. I love the graphic design and font you used.
Hello Again. Well, I have watched the first bit to Hol - will watch the rest over the next couple of days. Wow. I am so impressed with the graphics you are using for the signal descriptions. They make this a very high class cab ride. So let me take the opportunity to thank you for the extra work and time you have had to put into this cab ride. Magic stuff. Best wishes as ever to you.
Excellent graphic titles and super informative. This is so well put together it's like a piece of art actually. Thanks for creating this. I am now a subscriber.
Stunning! Thank you HinduCowGirl for this lovely ride and scene you share,, and for answering all of the questions so promptly ( thank you all whom ask very good questions also!) ,
A piece of land of peace with peaceful people of Norway, love you all from far away and thanks for relaxing video, I can't explain my feeling by watching this kind of train views of Norway only.
The quality of your graphics is really high but the way in which you pinpointed the signals you were about to explain would be classed as outstandingly good at a specialist professional level! Brava!
Again I am amazed and transfixed on these videos. I'm hooked. Like a daily addiction-- got to see a train ride video to get my fix for the day lol. I love your videos. This was great. Wish though you had the names of the stops later on in video was there. I was lost in the the dark. Love the Christmas lights at the end. Hadn't seen any in any Christmas day videos. Safe travels ahead my friend god bless.
Me too, I watch about an hour almost every night, just before going to bed, it's like a visual ASMR or something, it's very relaxing and pleasant to watch.
Thank you! I've watched all the Nordlandsbanen and the Bergen line multiple times...I had the signs mostly figured out except for the numbers...Now it all makes sense!
Another great video. Nice view approaching Haugastøl 56:50, and the night stations after Finse, Myrdal 1:40:26, Upsete 1:45:50, Mjølfjell 1:55:31, Reimegrend 2:06:08, Urdland 2:13:17, Ygre 2:21:09 and then the Voss valley after that.
Another beautiful video, I realize it's a year old but it showed up in my feed, just in time for winter season. :) . As a side note, I would've loved to see how the wheels crush that snow at that crossing right in the beginning.
I loved how you described the signs and that helps me understand what you need to look out for as a engineer but, at night ...so many tunnels and no scenery is hard for me to watch. But I will follow your videos! Thank You.
Yet another stunning and excellent video, HinduCowGirl. Love the addition of station names & signalling information. However, I disagree with some of the other comments re time on screen - nothing wrong in a little pause here and there :-). One thing I would like to see though, if possible, is a view or picture of the train before we start. I just like to know what sort of train I'm riding LOL. Keep up the very good work, look forward to seeing more of your videos.
apsolutly amazing, great informations panels (maybe stations infos can by on other place). As always a beautiful landscape especialy at winther. Big thanks and many happy kilometers
I love your videos even without infos, BUT if you decide to add them, I agree with the guy who said to make them last longer, 10-15 seconds maybe, dunno. If you stop there you can even keep them on screen until you leave that station again. And maybe it's better displayed on the top center (or right, or left, but top maybe works better). If you want and you're not too shy you could even try some vlogging, talking about your job, if and how much you like it, the routes you like the most and those you don't like at all and any other facts about that job (hoping you speak english lol). But this would be just a plus, you already have the best youtube channel of this kind, great location, great train, great audio-video quality.
Thanks for this, it was really well done. You must have spent ages annotating the video and rendering it. As other people have suggested, I'd recommend increasing the time that the captions stay on screen, as there's a lot of text to read in ~5 seconds.
Thank you for taking the time to add the signaling info etc. To me it doesn't matter if I have to pause to read all the info, since I paused anyway to keep the sign in sight while I read the explanation. (But I can still do that even if the texts stay a few seconds longer, of course. :) )
I LOVE these videos. One small improvement would be to speed up with time-lapse instead of chopping out content. In particular, the sunset is particularly fine in this one, and I would love to see it progress as the signals change.
Lovely relaxing video, How beautiful everything looks in the evening, I often go out in my car in the evening for a relaxing drive, HinduCowGirl is lucky, she can take a train.
I was curious about the "information" run in the beginning, thinking it was a railroad function. Finally, I figured out that it was for viewer education.
Nice video, will definitely watch this. For now: maybe but the station's name a bit less near the edge of the video. I do really like the imformation lay out for the signaling, but maybe leave it on screen for a bit longer. It is difficult to read sometimes.
I agree with the longer time for signal information. I had to pause the video to read all of each description. What is your definition of a Technical Station?
Far better than old Bergensbanen NRK video, what's more - without annoying cowbell at every tunnel entrance and with some explanations on signaling - thank you very much! Thank you for including "original" sounds (like in all other your videos) - many people have different sound taste, so some people prefer Groms Plass, other Einherjer, yet another some dance or disco - if someone is missing a music, can play something he likes ;) I'm past Finse and still didn't find the answer to several variants of "Sound horn" sign - those with vertical line, clear one and with horizontal and vertical lines crossed. What do they mean? There is also similar sign at first technical station - with circle and dot inside) - but it seems to have nothing with horns. There are also rectangular (verctical) black signs with diagonal, yellow stripes and circle signs with yellow background and single digit (i.e. 5) - the last one looks like polish signs for radio channel but in reverse colors ;)
Always enjoy your videos. Am guessing the time of year here is winter coming to spring with the light lingering longer with each passing day? I am amazed how fast the lengthening and shortening of days happens at my latitude in Colorado, and can only marvel at how fast these transitions occur at the latitudes in Norway, swinging from twenty-four hours of daylight in summer to the same for winter's darkness. What an amazing and insanely beautiful place!
If you'd like, I'd love to hear your opinions about the el18. The first word that comes to my mind about the Re 460/465 is futuristic. It was extremely modern for that time and even today, it features some unique functionalities. I love how quiet and sophisticated it behaves, but unfortunately it doesn't grip as good to the rails as other locos do. The electric brake is impressively powerful. Love the signalling information, keep on the good work!
Wow, that was a fast answer. Is it limited to 275? Our Re 460 delivers a maximum of 300kN... on paper. I highly doubt all the power makes it to the rails, the wheels are way too smooth... Is the "parking brake" on the el18 also a permanent magnetic track brake?
Smaller engines. The locos here has main reservoirs in steel, the R460 has them in carbon? So because of the added weight of the steel reservoir, they reduced the size of the engines. So our version of the re460 has 7.500hp and 275KN of torque :) Fantastic engine :D so versatile and smooth :)
The snow cover very much helps illuminate the night very nicely. Been wondering for quite some time what the blue/green lighted screens/boards are in the longer tunnels about every 100 feet are for? For track workers or maybe emergency communications? Use to drive truck over-the-road and this night video reminds me very much of that.
Arriving at Myrdal I glanced to the left at the line (and valley) to Flåm...wow...that line is so intriguing to me in daylight, nighttime seems almost terrifying!
I am physically disabled and do not get to travel in the ways I dream of. These videos are a gift, and I am so grateful that you share them. they're a wonderful 'escape' from my reality into a faraway land. Also the landscape of Norway is very similar to northern Canada, where I once lived
Hey there Ruff,
I'm so glad my videos brings you so much joy and the feeling of escape ❤️ It's stories like these that drives me ❤️
Me also, these are really cool videos for disabled people

Thanks for all the info you can inject in your videos.
Signaling information was very informative. I've always been interested in that sort of thing. Thank you.
I can't explain why but I LOVE these videos! Thank you so much for taking the time to record and post them for us!! What a beautiful country.. I'm so jealous! :)
No doubt. God took 8 days. 7 to make the world and us, and another day to sculpt Norway
Kind of mesmerising, isn't it, watching the track? 🤓😨
Thanks for the ride! Peace and love to all from the Midwest USA
I can't tell you how much I enjoy the contrasts between Arizona and the all wonderful places you take us. One request... I would love to see the view out the rear of the train as it runs through the snow. What a cloud of powder it must leave!
I forgot to say that I love watching these videos. They help me relax at night and see a wonderful country I will probably never get to see myself.
Signalling info adds a new dimension to these excellent videos! Thanks for doing them 👍

Production value! Nicely done. Cheers!

And now the addition of brilliant info-sharing graphics. So simple. So clean. Sophisticated. Right from the start. Thank you.

What are the yellow rectangles with 150 or 130 in them?
Its the speedlimit i think.
Nice video though I really don't care for the night scenery
I have spent the last 4 hours being fascinated by your videos. Thank you!
So many signal and sign questions answered. Takk skal du ha!

Of all the many videos I have seen, your videography and camera quality is superb! Sharp and crisp and perfect!!!
Thank you so much, Hans :D
Motion tracking those layovers is a horrible time consuming process :p
Very relaxing and enjoyable. Just the thing after a hard days work. Thank you.
Wonderful job, really enjoyable, must say explanations add to the experience many thanks
These videos are always a great tour of such a beautiful country. It looks even more amazing during the sunset too, definitely a place I'd want to visit and see with my own eyes at some point in life.
Dette må være den mest detaljerte og informasjonsbringende videoen jeg har sett om norsk jernbane :) takk for en fantastisk Video fra lokomotivet :)

Great ride, Sun going down in the mountains is very pretty. Thanks!
Two minutes in and already I like. I love that you've added infographics... Cheers!
Very nice job on the info capsules! Thanks for making another great video
And now I have watched it all. Fabulous stuff. Bring on the next one!!😜
Excellent graphic titles and super informative. This is so well put together it's like a piece of art actually. Thanks for creating this. I am now a subscriber.
The colors in the sky are awesome. Thank you for sharing with great video quality!
Stunning! Thank you HinduCowGirl for this lovely ride and scene you share,, and for answering all of the questions so promptly ( thank you all whom ask very good questions also!) ,
I love these videos
Awesome video(s)! The Norwegian scenery is simply epic :) Thank you so much!
A piece of land of peace with peaceful people of Norway, love you all from far away and thanks for relaxing video, I can't explain my feeling by watching this kind of train views of Norway only.
This is beautiful, and thank you for your time and patience to post this.
Excellent and I liked the station names!
The picture quality is amazing mate. Keep up the good work 🚾
Those overlay comments! Lots of editing here, educational! I'd call this a work of art! Thank you!
Thank you thank you :D
What a treat, Thank You for the many videos!!!
Dette må være den beste sovemedisinen ever. Thanks 😴
Stunning views! I loved it. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
This is utterly breathtaking, thank you for sharing
I go to sleep every night to these videos. With an iPad 6 inches from my face in complete darkness and earbuds, I pretend I’m really there!
Circular polarizer filter kill reflects from glass of locomotive window. Thank you for sharing your amazing videos!
Thanks for the tip, but i also guess I’ll lose 1 - 2 f-stops :)

Good to see the meaning of signals and tables. Thanks!
No problem! Thanks for watching!
Excellent video ! Can't wait for your next video ! Thank you for sharing!!!:):):)
Du lager nydelige videoer og dette er selvfølgelig en av dem! Fantastisk at noen vil filme dette. Forhåpentligvis er dette min fremtidige arbeidsplass
Superb video! Greetings from Romania!
Thank you! A wonderful video:
Thanks for the annotations. Informative.
I loved that sunset!
I just love Norway and also your videos!!
Yet another stunning and excellent video, HinduCowGirl. Love the addition of station names & signalling information. You see it on the thumb ;)
Oh, my word. Beautiful.
apsolutly amazing, great informations panels (maybe stations infos can by on other place). As always a beautiful landscape especialy at winther. Big thanks and many happy kilometers
You never disappoint :)
This video is phenomenal. With those signal info I felt like I was in a driver's course.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
Another great video 👍
I just found train videos a few weeks ago and this is my favorite. Bravo! Let's see more (nudge to anyone with a GoPro cam or similar!)
The quality is truly stunning. I've only spent time in Colorado, my next trip will be Nordic on rails!!
Cracking good video - loved it!
Большое спасибо за качественный контент! Очень красивые виды и прекрасные железные дороги!
This just came up in my stream. Your thumbnail photo is beautiful. Just like your videos.
Thanks a lot :D
Love these train videos. !! ❤️❤️
I love your videos even without infos, BUT if you decide to add them, I agree with the guy who said to make them last longer, 10-15 seconds maybe, dunno.
Very interesting and informative and of course beautiful. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to add the signaling info etc. To me it doesn't matter if I have to pause to read all the info, since I paused anyway to keep the sign in sight while I read the explanation. (But I can still do that even if the texts stay a few seconds longer, of course. :) )
I love new things of telling whats going on :) Please keep up the good work :)
This is a Nice Video but you could leave the Signal-Infos on screen for a bit Longer

Nice video, will definitely watch this. For now: maybe but the station's name a bit less near the edge of the video. I do really like the imformation lay out for the signaling, but maybe leave it on screen for a bit longer. It is difficult to read sometimes.
I agree. Possibly leave it on screen 5seconds longer. Maybe put station name info(the elevation info is great also) up higher on screen.
I agree with the longer time for signal information. I had to pause the video to read all of each description. What is your definition of a Technical Station?
a technical stations means that its no station for passenger or goods. Only for train crossings.
Far better than old Bergensbanen NRK video, what's more - without annoying cowbell at every tunnel entrance and with some explanations on signaling - thank you very much! Thank you for including "original" sounds (like in all other your videos) - many people have different sound taste, so some people prefer Groms Plass, other Einherjer, yet another some dance or disco - if someone is missing a music, can play something he likes ;)
I'm past Finse and still didn't find the answer to several variants of "Sound horn" sign - those with vertical line, clear one and with horizontal and vertical lines crossed.
Thanks for signal info and town names. Very helpful. What is an information run?
Thank you for your film.
I think I'd come to Norway in the winter just to ride all the trains and look at the scenery.
wow Sparks between the pantagraph and the cantonarry wires. NEVER saw that before. @ 12.50
275kn of pure power :) ❤️❤️❤️
Wow, that was a fast answer. Is it limited to 275? Our Re 460 delivers a maximum of 300kN... on paper. I highly doubt all the power makes it to the rails, the wheels are way too smooth... Is the "parking brake" on the el18 also a permanent magnetic track brake?
Smaller engines.
The locos here has main reservoirs in steel, the R460 has them in carbon?
So because of the added weight of the steel reservoir, they reduced the size of the engines.
So our version of the re460 has 7.500hp and 275KN of torque :)
Fantastic engine :D so versatile and smooth :)
the woman knows her hp and torque..........that's pretty impressive
Trust me. This woman know this loco very well.
