Videos from this publisher, HinduCowGirl belong to the best on the railroad videos on UA-cam. The videos are nearly free of the Scheimpflung rule picture deformations and also trees and post do not look bent as to bad wide angle lens systems of mobile phones and cheap video cameras often used by amateurs. - Here we have a very good video that shows a driver's view as it is. For sure the wonderful and my beloved Norway country-side is at its best in Winter. - This beautifully done video is a joy to watch. Thank you!

Calling out other people for trying to make movies are at best: disrespectful and extremely rude.

As the op states, this is excellent footage which allows fatigue free viewing for over 2 hours. Op was highlighting differences between professional and amateur footage. The only person doing the "calling out" here is you. You would achieve more positive outcomes if you concentrated on honing your production techniques. Work hard and save up for some better gear and spend less time trolling? Your channel has potential. Keep pushing through and striving for excellence. I hope you recieve this in good faith but something tells me you'll be delighted by my response and will continue to troll. I won't be carrying this on and you are welcome to have the last word.

Your videos keep my anxiety, which I have fought all of my life manageable. It may sound crazy, but since watching them, I haven’t had to take as much of my medication and my life is far calmer as is my blood pressure. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, for all your hard work, thank you and Norway is a dreamland only some of us see in your videos or in our dreams.

It doesn't seem that long ago, that ice etched the paths for rails to later follow. In winter dusk descends at 2 p.m., and snow falls along with the bitter cold. How romantic! What a privilege to drive this Bergen Line, even on a day off!!

The one that blew me away the most I think is when you were on the hill in the middle of that nightmare blizzard. I couldn’t see the tracks, and I grew up in snow that deep. It’s amazing what you do, I could never do that, but I love watching you do it.❤❤❤❤❤❤ sorry if I’m a pest living alone, being old and being disabled stuck in this bed sometimes makes me a little wordy. I’ll stop now. You have a wonderful day and be safe.

HGC as frustrating as it is with regard the issues with your live chat fear not, you'll never lose any fans, because your videos, like this one, are always top notch and so very entertaining. It is very difficult to turn them off once the journey has begun. Mate, you got us hooked because you produce high-quality videos and we all enjoy them.
Although I have joined in on the chat a few times, I am really not much of a live chatter per se and would rather prefer your videos like this one, from your library. Even though you have a group of fans who want the chat, just remember where you started. There are many of us who enjoy the simple video and we are always very appreciative of your efforts and your generosity in publishing them.
Safe travels and hope we see more journeys in the future!

Think of the phrase "Hindu Cow Girl" as "HinduCow" Girl instead, and know that a "HinduCow" is the most peaceful creature on Earth. Plus, I don't know why, but it's more fun traveling with you. This video...beautiful with the snow and fun to ride it from Al to Voss. It's interesting to see the mountains and towns from the opposite approach. One of my favorite moments from Voss to Al is just outside a tunnel where we pass over a stream and then go into a tunnel. Here it's at 1:46:33 and I had no idea it became a waterfall. Obviously it's steep, but it never occurred to me that it would be a waterfall. Anyway, thank you again. I always enjoy riding with you.

The track it was on is for parking and parking only, so gad to move it to the track with platform.
They you’d ask, why not just park it by the platform? Well simply put, that would block a through track. And parking on through track without the possibility to cut the power from the overhead wire and use auxiliary power would mean that you’d have be there at all times.

Question: Why do you blow for some crossings and not others, and why so far from the actual crossing? Here in the U.S. they have to blow approaching the crossing and continue until they pass the crossing. Interesting how different countries handle this!

    • @RailCowGirl
      @RailCowGirl  2 роки тому +1

= Level crossing, trains must sound the horn (these are placed where the line of sight from the crossing is too short to see the train coming.
= Halt, trains with a scheduled stop at the halt must sound the horn
= Level crossing and halt at the same place, all trains must sound the horn
      = general warning
We don't need to sound the horn for level crossings that are complete with gates and sound systems.

Are there any publications which illustrate the steam era route against the current route? You could never run a steam engine in those long (>1km) tunnels . It and its crew and passengers would run out of oxygen. All the stations on this route have a similar layout of track and facilities, but none are seen to be used for any type of freight. I know Norway is a rich county with cheap fuel, but there is still emission issues.

The tunnel before Finse was not there until the 90's... the same with the long tunnel after Finse... but the one after Myrdal was there, and they did run steam through it. So yes.. they did use steam in tunnels over 1km ;)
To say it this way... they did not have the same requirements or knowledge back then as we do have today.

@@RailCowGirl One thing that can not be seen on video is any ventilation shafts or tunnels. These would deliver the required 'fresh air' and release 'smoke' Would be required for diesel traction also.

always learned that if you do make the decision to say YES when the boss asks you if you can come in and work on one of your days off, that it tends to make a good impression on you on his side, that is why ALMOST every single time when mine asked me if I culd come in on my days off, I would say YES, I could almost never say no..LOL

Believe it or not, but that is actually alarmingly little snow for that stretch. This is an area that should have 3 to 5 metres snow depth at the end of winter, on average. Nothing like that here, as you can see.The mountainous regions in the southern half of country has had the least snow in decades this winter.

Странно, почему состав не подождал зеленого сигнала семафора, а произвёл маневровые движения назад и снова вперёд?
