#Tiger1200
This content is over a week old. I was out on it yesterday and it's won me over 100%. I've now done 200+ miles on it and it's extremely addictive. Sport settings set for mapping, damping and traction and it's a refined animal. Tips into corners like a dream and comes out of them with masses of excitement. It's more comfortable than my GSA. The seat is very good. My wife was pillion last weekend. At first she didn't like the ride height but we did longer hours than she's normally happy with due to the seat being softer. I can vouch for that too. Less need to stand up to allow blood to flow through my arse cheeks every 20 minutes on a long ride.
Best part for me was breaking the 600-mile rev limit - soon as you push 5-6k RPM this engine absolutely RAWS. Can't wait for you to experience it my man, enjoy!
Only issue in South Africa, is 3 dealers in the country. Otherwise i think its a bike.i would buy.
I'll be interested how you see the Evo Tech for the Garmin. They say to much shake . To high in windscreen when screen up . To busy and off road will shake it off , Not stable.
Just bought one ! Had several gs's and 1290 sa's and for me this is both bikes put together by by Bmw and ktm 👌🏼
Such a beast of a bike. I wanted the Ducati as well but the fuel range is horrible on it. I went with the Tiger 1200 rally explorer as well.
I had a 900 rally pro. It let me down on two trips Mexico and Alaska, both time the rear spokes broke. Triumph covered it both times under warranty but never came up with why it kept happening, and a real safety thing for me, so I sold it and went with a GS
To be fair you basically bought another GS. The KTM is outside of that box. Well outside. For me having some that separation is important. Looking forward to the content.
Congrats mate!!!! Enjoy it. We’ll wait for a honest comparison against the queen (GS of course).
Congrats on the new Bike, just taken delivery of my GT Explorer and really looking forward to the mods and ideas for mine. If you want a GT Exploere to "test" on im your man :-)
The OEM fog lights are a bit useless and would be almost never used. Replacing with driving lights is a much better idea.
Test riding the Tiger1200 tomorrow looking forward to seeing what you do to the tiger loved what you did with the BMW
How was your test ride?
i liked it smooth 30 ltr tank luv it
@@jesseonamotorcycle
@@colinkirkpatrick7697 awesome. It’s a big bike but I love my tiger so far.
Picked up a rally pro about three weeks ago and I love it.
I bought the rally pro 900 and got the evotech mount that sits perfectly for the Garmin zumo xt plug it into the socket on the front stems works brilliantly 👍. 1200 great bike by the way.
Looks smart can't wait to see what you do with the lighting
Congrats on the new bike. I'll be taking one for a test ride soon with Dublin Triumph. I've got a set of Denali D2's on my current bike, NC700X and have then wired as DRLs and also tapped into a headlight wire for full dual intensity operation. I'm interested to see if this will be possible on the new Tiger 1200 GT. I'll be watching with interest on the teaming up with the crew from Hex ezCAN. as an alternate option for the Tiger 1200 GT.
Well done, enjoy the bike, I have the 1200 previous generation, xrt. Fantastic bike!
A bit late to comments. I hope, hope, hope you will do a strip down and install video of lights, sound bomb etc when the CanSmart becomes available for the Tiger 1200..
I am also looking at the Tiger 1200. Your channel is amazing - thanks.
Uploaded new Tiger video today
Thanks for your work with the Hex folks! I'm loving the ezCAN on my KTM 1290 Sup Adv S.
Turn by turn nav on a 20 grand bike,? bit of an own goal I would say, when you need to fit a Tom Tom or similar to see the road layout in front of you. Could have made the display larger and integrated the sat nav properly, but suppose it adds to the “Character”
I just buy a Tiger Rally Explorer! I Love it!!! ... So.. Have some news about how is going the ezCAN for this triumph 1200?? ... I want to light the darkness!!! jajajaja
Congrats. Same here. So far it’s been nice. Big bike though.
We have 2 Tigers 900 Rally Pro, one is from my dad and the other is mine. I can tell You that Triumph has really good bikes, there are awesome, BUUUUUT the thing is that sometimes the Check Engine message shows in the panel, it allows you to drive, is a connector that sulfate .. but anyways, I hope You enjoy that bike! Greetings from Chile!
I am using the Zumo XT on to EvoTech mount. Works great, but get your point about the wheel
Thanks.
I found that my Tiger 900 RP SO much more difficult to pick up than my R1250 GSA with full fuel. I can only imagine the 1200. Also, the factory infotainment system product team couldn’t figure out how to get the app and bike to connect on a brand new iPhone 12 and then 13. Not great.
Incredible my friend, thanks for sharing.
Ask; Soon you will release a video about the accessories (extra lights, brake light, etc.) that we can install on the motorcycle? Currently there are not many accessories for the bike but I'm sure you will have surprises. Thank you!
Great videos Steve, thanks. I've got a Tiger Rally Explorer coming in a couple of weeks, please can you review the SW Motech bags for fitting on it. Especially the GS, thanks!!!
Cant wait for the Ducati MS V4 to get done ;)
If it’s like the Gen 3 Tiger (2018-21) the DRL stays on with dipped beam but at a lower intensity.
Correct
Why is the audio panned in this video?
Do the valves adjust just like the 900? Seems like all of the bikes with a 21" front tire are a pain to adjust the engine valves. Higher maintenance costs, pushes the GSA or Pan Am closer to the top of the list but not wild about 19" front tires.
Hi how does it handle in the rain and would you change the tyres?
Any noticeable difference in corners between Rally and GT ? Congratulations and safe miles🙌🙌
Everyone on UA-cam says not much difference Apurva
@@jesseonamotorcycle Thanks
yes, it was a cold reply. Its the spindly front pram wheel and the beaky front end....... i love your channel steve, and all the great work ,tech info you offer us all . i just cant get interested in this Triumph as much as i love there other bikes, i feel this one doesnt tick all the boxes like the GSA. Your content is great what ever bike you work on so thanks.
It’s not fair comparison TBH, the BMW TFT software is very similar to BMW cars thus the volume of feedback and the wheel is just mounted horizontal vs vertical on the bike.
Fair comparison? I’m comparing an apple with an apple. Explorer with GSA. I think it’s fair to compare these models.
@@ABIKETHING well I’m thinking that BMW has produced over 10 million units of its iDrive since the 2000’s and Triumph hasn’t made 100’000.
Can't you use the UA-cam shorts feature alongside instagram?
I still need to look into that and TikTok 😀
Would of been interesting to see what you can do with the Norden 901 and the Triumph. I Don’t do Instagram, Facebook or Twitter (and definitely will never use them), so I guess I won’t be seeing much of the new stuff, if you don’t do UA-cam videos.
You will but it’ll always follow later. I’m not moving away from UA-cam.
A British guy buying a British bike, imagine that.
A British guy buying a British bike, imagine that. Great decision and thanks for supporting a British company.
2 questions i have never seen an answer to, how much work is involved in a spark plug change on the Tiger 1200? and where is the air-box located?
Torn between the Tiger and the GS myself atm....
Airbox is under tank on triumph. On the gs it’s in front and on the gsa it’s in front and underneath. Either way the fuel tank has to come off all models if you want to remove air boxes.
@@ABIKETHING was thinking more of time and work involved in changing the air filter.
(Long time trail rider) same with spark plugs, thinking of common trail side repairs.
Nice purchase Steve. Will you doing anything for the 900 Rally Pro?
Oh yes! Watch this space
Curious, many You Tube testers claim it has bad vibes in the footpegs and very snatchy throttle? Do u experince this. I'm torn between this bike or the GSA1250 , Honda AT DCT or wait to see new GS1300!
Snatchy throttle yes. Vibes not enough to worry about it.
When the can smart and hex can coming for the Pan America 1250s?
Soon
Is this model manufacturered in uk or Thailand🤗
UK I assume
@@ABIKETHING isn't it mentioned on the paper documents🤔.i have heard that tiger 900 and 1200 are manufactured in Thailand.
Beautiful! Does the Triumph have the torque and highway HP? Is there backlit handler switches for night riding?
Yes it has back lit switches. Not as torquey but certainly faster than the GS
@@ABIKETHING
Very nice. It’s perfectly designed for super slab. I like it. Thank you.
Is there coming a video on UA-cam how to remove that fueltank of this Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer? Cheers.
Yes, it’ll come.
Get calimoto for your phone, finds some epic roads
Yes I have that already but not ideal for big road trip planning. I’ve tried it. Excellent app for general weekend ride outs though.
Just come back from 1500 mile Ireland trip was a piece of cake to plan and use software on PC. Way easier than tomtom
*Hoos-kvarna.
Not Hoos-ka-varna
It shouldn’t have to be that damn difficult to pronounce Hus-qvarna!
You don’t need to be constantly looking at tire pressure, cmon.
I have a valid reason for this. Very unlucky with a punctures, complete blowouts and slow punctures. I’ve really had my unfair share of them so it’s understandable to have a little bit of paranoia. I’m the same with my car. Connection and feel with road along with brakes are my number 1 priority.
Don,t you just hate the rich !!!!
Sorry, but FB and Insta isn’t something I can support. They’re just too destructive that I can’t support.
The Triumph is an improvement, but still not as good as the GSA, it's not got that 'special' factor.
Have you ridden one yet? This content is over a week old. I was out on it yesterday and it's won me over 100%. Ive now done 200+ miles on it and it's extremely addictive. Sport settings set for mapping, damping and traction and it's a refined animal. Tips into corners like a dream and comes out of them with masses of excitement. It's more comfortable than a GS too. The seat is very good.
@@ABIKETHING I rode one on Saturday. I own a GSA and still think the GSA has the edge...but the gap is closer.
Like the BMW GSA is “The Best”… And others can’t match it…?! 🙄🤣
Should have bought a Beemer.
But i already have one 🤪. And I’ll buy the new 1300 one as soon as.
I hear all kinds of news on the new BMW but no release date. One dealer actually said no changes for 2023. A bit frustrating
NO Matter how light, How much BHP............That Triumph is one UGLY bike!
Haha, thats cold, Stone Cold! This is really interesting. I'm not offended 😂. I think it's such an attractive bike. It just shows that beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. One of us has bad taste.😆
@@ABIKETHING 😂 good answer.
Best looking adventure bike. Honda AT 2nd.
@@ABIKETHING The Triumph is much better looking
The Rally in green livery is a thing of beauty. Not as much bling as a BMW though if that's your thing.
