    I've got both the micro and city bags fitted to a BMW R1250RS all the way towards the bars and no interference issues, I did remove the GPS mount on my bike as I'm a paper map kinda guy. I am utilizing the 12mm spacer with the city bag to achieve the far forward position.

    A really good video. A great opportunity for you to design a bracket for the brake reservoir to enable more of the bags to not foul? Look forward to seeing it!! Thank you👍

    I had the city-pro on a Tiger 900 GT pro and it fitted with no problem. Now its on the 1200 GT PRO and yes it hit’s the brake reservoir with the bar-end 100% to the right ( it does NOT going in to the bag, it only, touches it! )So if you don’t put to much stuff in the bag you do not have any problem at all with the City-pro.

    I have the sw-motech micro tank bag and in my opinion only one that fits in the range, also looks ok as others while they dont fit with the bars also look bad hanging over the back of the tank. I can get enough i need on tours in the micro one. Happy with it

    I'm not convinced that the Motech is the right bag for this bike to be honest.

      Any alternative that mounts to a tank ring?

    Thanks for the walktrough of current SW-Motech tankbags to the PV01, Steve! As a reseller, could you encourage SW-Motech to develop some kind of relocation kit for the front brake reservoir? Or even challenge Evotech Performance on the subject? Evotech Performance manufactures the most exquisite custom parts for the PV01. Otherwise, have you considered a slight forwards tilt of the handlebar with regards to tank bag fitment issues? Would this give required room for wide-ish SW-Motech tank bags and the like? If you have the time and resources, please investigate and comment. 🙂
    (Being 8'2", I find the geometry of the PV01 chassis intrigueing. It's the first ADV-bike I can ride standing without the urge for adding bar risers. I haven't come around to adjustment of handlebar tilt yet, my PV01 is still at factory setting. But I assume that some 1-2 degrees forward tilt of the handlebar will make standing control perfect without bar risers). 🤩

    SW Motech had the perfect system with the Quick Lock many years ago. Then either through an attempt to make a better design, OR an attempt at planned obsolescence, they have evolved the design twice since then. Both subsequent designs use many more articulating parts(see 2:58) that quickly get clogged with dust and dirt, making it extremely difficult to release. Having 3 of their bags, I have tried to obtain a quick lock for each bike I buy, but with this latest Tiger 900, it is no longer available. My old tank bags are also unusable because with this newer system you have to buy the new bags with the mechanism as part of them. Hugely disappointing. With the issues with the new mechanism, I have to wonder if they actually do product testing at SW Motech outside of a clean lab.....

    Tiger 660 needs an adapted ring that maybe better for the 900 too. I have a “daypack” that I’ve used on a couple of different bikes. I’ve ordered the 660 ring: PRO Tank Ring Triumph Tiger 660 (21-) Black × 1

    How often do you engage full right lock when riding? The big bags are an eyesore but the smaller ones with just a bit of contact should work ok.

    Hi, I’m having trouble deciding which tank bag to put on my Ducati monster 821 stealth 2020. I’m 5 foot 6 and struggling to choose which bag to get?
    I heard what you said about Sw motech with there choice and all they said was the pro city
    Being a Brit but I live in Vancouver Canada and doing a 2 week trip down the Oregon coast and will be using a Kriega back pack but would like your knowledge of the tank bags to choose if the bigger bags would work or be to much
    Love you vids mate…….

      I think it’s more the other way round that triumph haven’t thought it through. The tank bags in this video were designed a few years ago way before this Tiger 1200 was. It’s not triumphs job to think about tank bags when designing a bike but sw can’t be expected to know what the tiger in 2022 is going to be like back in 2019.

    Is the 'sport' the choice bag to place on the rear sw motech rack using the ring lock? I have the sw luggage bag with the straps to secure but it would much better if they used the same locking system.

    • @ABIKETHING

    Quite disappointed with the SW range here, they haven't designed the plates to angle the bags to the Triumph tank, pretty lazy job tbh

    • @ABIKETHING
      @ABIKETHING  Рік тому +1

      To be fair the tank bags were here before the ‘22 tigers so it would be pretty spectacular if sw motech knew the design of the tank years before they made it. The pro tank bags are a universal fit for all bikes so hopefully this vid will help you decide which one is right for you or if having one at all.

    • @CCharlsburg
      @CCharlsburg Рік тому +1

      @@ABIKETHING Yeah fully appreciate that - I guess I was expecting them to do some magic with the tank-bracket itself, to help position the bags to match the tank shape. Appreciate without seeing the brackets up close if that would even have been technically possible...but if as you say they're almost identical to the GS mounts then it appears they haven't tried at all :/

      Great video, very descriptive and informative. I have the same bike, I went to my Triumph dealer a couple of weeks ago with a view to purchasing a tank bag, do you know Triumph currently do not even do a Tank Bag that would fit the Tiger, now that is more disappointing!

    • @shegocrazy
      @shegocrazy Рік тому

      The plates aren't the problem as they can only sit flush on the fuel cap that's available. What you are basically asking for is Motech to have custom designed bags specifically for the Tiger 1200 that follows the curve of the tank. Imagine the price if they were going to do that? The other option would be for Motech to have a tank ring with a lip that angles down the tank that is big enough to hold the bag latch. It would look hideous assuming it could work practically. Of course Triumph could always move that stupid brake fluid reservoir!

    • @CCharlsburg
      @CCharlsburg Рік тому +1

      @@shegocrazy Dont really agree, they could easily develop a plate that slightly angles the bag forward to counter the position the fuel cap is at - they could even do it as an insert under the mounting plate itself. A little bit of effort and they'd have all their bags suitable for the Tiger, rather than a useless product that doesnt fit

    I love SW-MOTECH but the tank bags just dont really work for the bike. I went with Nomax Tank Bag from Mosko Moto. The green really goes well with the green bike. They sit a lot lower, still out of my way but dont block the screen or handles at all.
