Ive got the GT explorer which I assume has similar panel work. Are you saying you can wire extra front lights without taking off the outer plastic panels/fairings?

Hi Steve, just a quick question for you if I may. Is it possible to dim a 2 wire light pod using the HEX ezcan on Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro? I have the old light units off of my old R1200GS and they dimmed using the scroll wheel.

Had a 2016 GS, bought the Tiger, and fell in love for the same reasons you mentioned.. I’ll keep the bike until the new and improved GS comes out, take it for a ride, and see if it’s worth switching back to BMW. (My dealer sells both brands) If I do switch back, I’ll definitely miss the howl of that Tiger! BMW says that the overwhelming majority (something like 96%) of GS riders never go off road. I do, and that’s why I chose the Rally Explorer.. it has the 21” front, which makes a huge difference off road. You may have liked the GT Explorer much better, as it’s more road biased..

I have a new 1200 rally explorer and live quite a long distance from a dealership. I'm putting on a Denali dialdim with my D4s and sound bomb. I was wondering where you would pick up the ignition and high beam triggers? I'm in the US so getting it to you shop would be a bit difficult. Lol

I don’t want to just tell you which colour wires as I’ve recently discovered there are some differences between the EU and US tigers.
We took a switched live from the din plug at the back, this could be used for the trigger to power up the run lights. At the back of the main headlight you’ll be able to see the wires coming out. It won’t be difficult figuring out which one is the high beam wire if you have test equipment.
It’s possible the high beam wire on the tiger will not even activate the high beam on the dial dim. It doesn’t work on the GS or the Tenere however the high beam on the tenere is so bad the people I know who have a dial dim tend to just use their dial for high beam as opposed to the factory switch.
Is the EZ-Can going to make use of the dedicated Fog light button? You didn't mention it but to use the stock fogs you need to press the fog button while headlights are on. Now that you've replaced these is the button redundant or can it be re-purposed?
Ah yes I completely forgot about this because I haven’t used it for months. It’s redundant on mine but it probably could be repurposed as a secondary switch however this will require wire splicing into your Triumph wiring which will not be welcomed by your dealer.
what would you like to use that switch for Charlie?

@@hanu0913 Yes it will. I don't think there is a way of deleting the fogs and removing the error message...unless it can be done by dealer software.

The Steve just got my lights and hex can I ordered from y’all installed. I’m following your setting on the lights but I don’t have the DRL switch. Can I still follow your settings at 27:24 and get the same results? I’d assume so since the low beam will just always be on
Yes it’ll still work. It’s all triggered by the photocell on your bike.
Hi Steve, just watching this and I’m keen to get the light set up you have. Are the fog adapters a thing yet so you can have those denalis on?

U can’t change what the factory fog lights do. Amber D3’s are connected to the ezcan

27:59 I'm a bit confused about the lighting intensity dials. Day and night refers to ambient sensor detecting day and night...assuming the Triumph has ambient lighting sensor - or is that just a BMW thing and the Tiger is manually switched only? There is yellow full and blue dipped controls. I assume that's for night time riding in dipped or high beam? Where then does the DRL fit in? is maybe DRL the day intensity in dipped and high settings?
So After completing a 3000 mile trip on my rally explorer it's gone ! Great bike but I now understand why yours is going and you've gone back to the gs ! However after 16gs's I've gone back to ktm !

Mark will the Evo Tech mount for the GPS work ? I have seen where it shakes a lot and with the wind screen up its all in your face. Do you have a idea as to where you can get a mount to go some where else like center of handle bars etc. ? . I don't like Ram Mount on left side of bars moving around I have Zumo xt.
Last thing I have bought Clear Water lights will EZ can run them ?
I have owned many GS, and GS Adventures , the 2023 tiger Explorer rally pro has me completely. The GS can maneuver at slow speeds, lower center Gravity, easier to pick up if you drop it.
The new tiger more fun in EVERY OTHER THING you do. I do dirt roads that's it I'm part of the 96 %. Off road needs to be lighter bike lower cc for lots of reasons. So if you do lots of pavement nothing more fun than Tiger 1200 2023 explorer Pro, sound , HP, comfort, handling . I'm 82 400,000 plus miles starting at age 6, here I am still riding , got the 100,000 and can get the 200,000 mile BMW award. all on GS or GS adventures. Triumph is cheaper to maintain by far. love the Drive Shaft set up smoth as can be. Vibration not a Problem for me , and if you rode BMW's you know what I mean , times when you let off the gas to see in the mirror.
Lets all keep ridding have fun stay safe and get a smaller bike when we get older. GA USA guy.
Thanks for the input Jon. Yes you can incorporate the GPS mount on this same set up. I like having the gps map right up there in front of me. It means I don’t need to look down away from where I’m going and can glance at my map safely. The peak design mount on this evotech mount takes all vibration away. Maybe look at our universal phone mount adapter that could be stuck onto the back of your GPS. This would resolve the vibration issue.

oh can you use the EZ with clearwater lights?
@@454gun yes. It’s not the same plugs but you can power any 12v accessory with an ezcan. You’ll need to either find a pigtail with a plug that’ll screw onto the CW plug or cut the CW plugs off and make a new connection using the spare plugs that come with the ezcan

Love your content! I was wondering if they now have a bracket to replace the OEM fog lights on the new gen tiger 1200's (GT Pro in my case) with the D3's? Also, I saw a vid you did on the D3 saying that they had to be mounted upright, is that still true? If the D3's were mounted in the same spot as the OEM fogs on the tiger they will be upside down... and I want to use the hybrid lens. Go, no go? Thanks.
Still no adapter that I know of. Its ok to hang the D3’s even with thr hybrid lens
Great stuff! I have the Tiger and will probably look at a couple of these upgrades.
Regarding the evotech mount for the phone, I’ve just fitted a Cosmo gps bar to replace the plastic one that moves the windshield up and down. Fitted the peak design mount to that bar and it’s a great solution. It is worth checking out to see if you want to consider them Mark as they have to come in from Greece and although it didn’t take forever it wasn’t quick.

I was wondering if you still had that bike. I actually sold mine for a 2023 GSA. The Triumph is a great bike, but I didn't like the vibes one bit.
Yes i still have it. This video was only recorded last Sunday. I know what you mean about the vibe however it wasn't enough for it to be an issue for me. We have another R1250GS arriving on Friday. We'll be doing some very nice upgrades on this.
I have a question regarding tripple flash to strobe. On the tigers with the drl switch, the flash button works in 2 ways: on drl mode, the flash button is momentary and I see no problem. But on low beam mode it is a on/off switch.
What happens on low beam mode and you tripple flash to strobe? Does the oem high beam stay on? Because you basically do on-off-on...
As I say in this video…..it’s 4 flashes to activate strobe on the tigers.

Hi Steve, I see that you made reference to the compassion between your Triumph & your BMW, Do you find the Explorer more top heavy than the GSA. Triumph’s advertising has been mainly towards the weight reduction compared to the older models, I had the older generation & it did me proud for three years. The opportunity arose for me to have a day long test ride on a GSA, Within one week I had sold the Explorer & bought a GSA. In my personal opinion there was no comparison, Have Triumph managed to shed any of that weight off the top end or is the Explorer still top heavy …. Thanks Mark
I don’t find it top heavy at all. Feels lighter, feels quicker and much better riding position too, but in reality I don’t ride it as fast and as smoothly as my GSA but I only recognised that from seeing my riding buddy never leaving my wing mirror who was on a GSA. We both ride to similar level and I was expecting to be pulling away from him on mountain roads. On the contrary, I was holding him up but the feedback from the tiger is telling you you’re actually riding faster……but I wasn’t
