I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to finally have laundry out on the line in the sunshine and to hear the beautiful blackbird singing! Happy Beltane Eve everyone!
We have light rain here in Worcestershire. Is there any better feeling than drying laundry outside? I absolutely love it. Happy beltane blessing to you xx
I have to admit that it is one of my greatest joys! There is something so comforting about it. The fragrance of the fresh air is pure magic. Beltane blessings poppet xxx
@fifty-somethingwitch2406 I was brought up by my nan when my mum died, I was aged 8. I ALWAYS remember washing on the line.. 365 days of the year. It felt like she was washing the whole streets laundry... I used to love opening the sheets and running through them.. those were the days....❤good job I did the washing yesterday. Today is rubbish. Blink and you'll miss the nice weather.. I still can't work out how my nan did it.. she even ironed dusters, dishcloths and tights😂 Thank you for the memory of my nan. My washing didn't yesterday, but your washing line did..💕
@@fifidubois5514 ahhh that’s so lovely, such treasured memories! My darling Mum, bless her, used to love to hang the towels on the line when it was really frosty and bright - she said it really softened the towels which I could never understand because they would freeze solid but she was absolutely right and they used to smell incredible!! 🥰
@fifty-somethingwitch2406 🤣 I remember that too. They were so stiff but ended up soft.. probably didn't even use softener.. There were always bits of soap moulded together to make one by the sink. In the bath, she must have been one of the first to invent exfoliate. She used detol in my bath water and probably Vim to scrub my knees. And I know for a fact I had the whitest socks ever. Practically glowed.. I have photos.. all you can see are my knee high socks. I have never in all my life got my whites as white as she did.. And once she tucked you in bed, with sheets, blankets, eiderdown so tight. You'd be hard pushed to get out... Maybe that was the idea🤔🤣🤣
@@fifidubois5514 oh the bed with the sheets and blanket and eiderdown and the candlewick bedspread!! Heaven! I still have one of the woollen blankets from my childhood home, I will never part with it. And I remember all the bits of soap! My Nannan had this amazing little gadget called a Soap Miser that she put all the tiny bits into and then when it was full you’d push the lid down and you’d end up with an absolutely perfect new multicoloured bar - it was brilliant!! The older generation gets hammered for causing all the problems with the climate but the truth is they were the people who knew all about recycling, repurposing and using what they’d got before buying more!
Happy Beltane
Merry Beltane sweetie! 🌸🌸
