I am back in China! This time I will be able to travel around China to explore different cities. Join me as we explore China over the next couple of weeks. First, I am entering into the Chinese mainland from Macau, which is a special administrative region of China. Then we are going to travel via train to one of the biggest cities in China, which is very famous for the Cantonese food.

Chinese Immigration and Custom should have little brochures at the border areas informing foreign visitors the essentials, such as how to install and add credit card Alipay and how to book Didi and use trains.

Is it cold in Guangzhou in winter? It's damn cold in chongqing !
@@peanut0brain Guangzhou is warm in winter compare with other provices. in this season, Hainan is the best option.
@@peanut0brain Only in January it can reach near zero at night but rest of year it's hot and humid and rains a lot especially during the summer
@@peanut0brain Guangzhou is sub-tropical, in winter it's like a month of ten smth C to 1 digit C, and that's it. Another reply mentioned Hainan, it's a big island, I remember it's like the 15th or smth biggest island in the world, that is further south than Guangzhou, and it's known as the Hawaii of China

Hi Ken. Glad to see you back in Mainland China. Chengdu, Chongqing and Harbin are three cities you might like. Chengdu for pandas, Chongqing for the cyberpunk style and Harbin for the ice world festivel. I am in Shenzhen, another big city near Guangzhou. Hope you have a great trip here.

Welcome to Guangzhou. You have actually come to this street that I am familiar with. The location you chose to stay is very good. It is a 5-minute walk from the largest business circle in Guangzhou. It only takes a 10-minute walk from Huacheng Square in Guangzhou, where you can see the Canton Tower. In Pearl River, you must go to the teahouse for morning tea and snacks. For lunch and dinner, you can taste authentic Cantonese cuisine. The local culture and customs of Guangzhou are somewhat similar to those of Hong Kong, but there are also a lot of outsiders, and not everyone can speak Cantonese (the first driver you meet is a outsider), so Guangzhou is a mixture. Wish you a happy trip!

It would probably take at least over twenty years to truly explore the major tourist destinations across China. While studying and teaching at universities along the southeast coast, I enjoyed backpacking and traveled to over 120 towns and cities, mainly focusing on the southwestern region. However, this was just within the provinces of the southwestern region. China is truly vast and diverse, with many places offering only a fleeting glimpse during a brief stay of one or two days. It's practically impossible to visit all the natural wonders and historical landmarks in their entirety. That's why I keep searching vlogs exploring China, yes, only for China.

I suggest you to go to China's Yunnan province, especially Dali, Shangri-La, Sipsongbanna, for seeing different ethnicities of China! Shangri-La of Yunnan province is a place of ethnic-Tibetans, and then in Sipsongbanna you can see the Chinese Tai culture.

What you eat is called "Rou Jia mo", actually this is the local food of Shaanxi Province, Guangzhou is one of the food capitals of China, you can ask where to find "粤菜 Yue cai", there is authentic Guangzhou food.The second soup you eat is called "抄手 Chao shou", which is a regional delicacy in Sichuan Province, and in other parts of China we call it "wonton".

Hope you put "沙面岛/ShaMian Island" in your visiting list. It's small island used to be almost isolated from rest of the Chinese society, a place for all the foreign consulates and banks. Lots of historic buildings there.

Great video, Ken! The street food that you called doner kebab, is 肉夹馍rou jia mo. The meat sandwiched by the crispy bread is covered by rich delicious fat, after long time cooking. It's the traditional food in Shaanxi. Welcome to China!
