Ken, you may want to visit a beautiful ancient town called Yangzhou in Guangxi province in southwest China. Yangshuo is famous for its scenic natural beauty, with a surreal landscape of limestone karst hills and caves and a lush countryside with rustic farms and picturesque ancient towns.😃
Jealousy my brother because west is falling apart I live in Toronto..and I feel like we live in third world compared to China..I wish I could visit there before I leave this world.... people China is gonna be emperor of the world...cope
I live in Toronto and I just returned from China, visited 5 cities in 15 days (Beijing, Shanghai, Sanya, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen) and spent 5 days just in Shanghai. I can say that I agree with 100% of what Ken said. It's one of the most organized and developed countries in the world (at least the 5 cities that I visited), and the people are extremely happy, welcoming and nice. You'll be surprised how advanced they are compared to many developed countries. I highly really recommend everyone to visit China - it's an eye opening experience. After I came back, I was explaining how good China is to one of my colleagues and he joked that I'm paid by the Chinese government to say so, lol. Don't get offended Ken, you did a great job. sadly, those comments show how many brainwashed people we have in the world, those who think that are openminded but their not! They can't even trust their eyes!
Yes it is quite interesting that I once told my University schoolmate that China is safer than Australia. All my school mate say no they don't believe it. But I am the only one of them who have lived in both countries. They still wouldn't trust me.
@@thebradelonge5758if u use a foreign sim and roaming service you won’t need VPN, but expensive. I mean the vpn service I use is only like 1 usd a month😂 and a local SIM card is whole lot more convenient. So why not set up a VPN anyway. It’s ok to use a vpn in China, just illegal to set up a vpn for commercial purposes(selling the service to others).
Because the truth is hard for them to fathom. They have been constantly brainwashed. Living in a delusion world. I just feel sorry for them living with such negative energy.
I have lived in Sydney for more than 50 years, So I consider myself as Australian more than Hongkonger. We traveled a bit but China was not on our list, because I spent my first 21 years in Hongkong and was educated under the Colonial British government. I viewed China negatively. I retired in early 2000, followed these group of Hongkong friends to have tours in China. We had the itinerary mapped out ourselves so were’t “invited” guests by Chinese Government. Only then I realised how little did I know about China. I have seen the improvements over the 20 years. The main cities were as good as you described. We also visited schools in remote country side. We have seen some families would not send their daughters to high school because of a few dollars for school fees. We raised money back in Sydney. We carried supplies to remote schools. We made last October tours as our last one to go to remote schools as we are getting old. We will continue to visit China as “tourists”. I want to say to people don’t believe what the Western Media want you to know, go and see it yourself.
I am touched by your Short paragraph which is far insufficient to describe your efforts and hearts. Thank you and wish you a best Christmas and New Year
Unfortunately, a lot of the people do believe what the western medias tell them. The same thing happens in Taiwan. A lot of people believe in the propaganda of the DPP government which itself is a big lier.
Visited China last month and stayed there for a month. I am sixty year old retired professor from New York now living in the Philippines. My wife and I traveled with our ninety five year old aunt and stayed in China for a month. We went to five cities, starting with Beijing, Xian, Chongqing, Guangzhou and finally Shanghai. In short it was a perfect trip for us and I fully concur with what you say about China. It was clean, organized, systematic and best of all fantastic food. Best of all Chinese people are kind and treated my nonagenarian aunt with respect and love.
we are returning with her next October for another tour of Chengdu and other regions, this time strictly gastronomical with some cultural shows thrown in@@xucg
Glad you had a good experience in China. I’m English and have lived here for over 10 years and am happy to call it home. Ignore the negative comments from people who’ve probably never left there sofa. I recommend going to Guilin in the south, it’s absolutely stunning. Beautiful river running through the mountains.
After visiting Guilin it will be a great idea to visit ancient town called Yangzhou nearby. Yangshuo is famous for its scenic natural beauty, with a surreal landscape of limestone karst hills and caves and a lush countryside with rustic farms and picturesque ancient towns.😅
I've lived in China for eight years including Hong Kong. Yeah, whenever I post something about China, I am accused of being a part of Chinese propaganda. Like I am also getting paid by the government. So funny. You are definitely right about China. I've been in a lot of cities in China, and they're almost the same everywhere. Now I am about to leave for Southeast Asia, but I'll be back here. I've done mostly short vlogs in China. Check them out.
Ironically everything those types of people say is a confession. The USA has in the past few years dedicated hundreds of millions to fueling anti China propaganda (while seeming to have no money to address massive homeless crises or ridiculous education and healthcare costs), but some CIA shills want to screech about “muh sissypee paying people.”
The same thing happens in Taiwan. Those DDP members and its supporters always say so. It seems that only bad things about the PRC is correct and the only right thing.
@@sonnigchiang4001 The DDP (the ROC in Taiwan current ruling party) hires hundred thousand cyber army (nickname 1450) to bash mainland China, spread disinformation and incite hatred, in order to stay in position. The most vicious comments are mostly from Taiwan 1450 cyber army.
I haven’t been to Shanghai for 42 years and look forward to going back in 2024. We Americans need to better understand China today and break down real and perceived barriers. Our countries are too interdependent and important not to get along. Peaceful cooperation is essential to making the world a better place.
Speaking as a Singaporean who first went to China in 2000 and multiple times thereafter (helped by the fact we are given visa free travel), China has come a long way. The traffic, the manners of people, the public toilet hygiene, the environmental pollution all have improved vastly. Just to comment a few things: 1) I think western media have fed their viewers either half truths or false narratives so extensively that even with so many western foreigners going there and vlogging, their minds have become so fixated on only the negative that they refuse to entertain any other possibilities about China, falling back on allegations and accusations that these peoples must have been paid by the Govt. Haters will always be haters, no matter how much you say and explain to them about your actual experiences. Just ignore such toxic people and commenters, you can't force them to believe you anyway if they refuse to. I don't think the Chinese Govt really give a fuck to how foreigners see them. Because if that is what they are so overly concerned with, they would have scaled back on their territorial and economic disputes with many countries. They are more concerned about the support they'd get from their own citizens, hence the poverty alleviation programmes and universal healthcare implemented nationwide. I've been to Europe a few times too and I definitely see more crimes and homelessness each time I visit, and the situation seems to have worsened with the arrivals of refugees and undocumented foreigners that have no jobs or whose religion and customs are at odds with the native population. 2) Ken, if I've to recommend where you can optimise your visit on a 15-day visa, here are a few suggestions:- a) Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia (province) - capital of China, nature b) HK, then travel into province Guangdong (Shenzhen, Guangzhou - cities), nearby province Guangxi - most advance coastal provinces like driverless buses, and Guangxi for great landscapes c) province Sichuan (capital - Chengdu), Chongqing, Guizhou - panda, landscapes, hilly city d) province Yunnan (Kunming capital, Lijiang, Xishuangbanna etc) - diverse ethnicities and great landscapes, ( I feel can do Sichuan & Yunnan together but can be quite packed) e) From Lanzhou to Xinjiang, retracing part of the the ancient silk route of China - for Xi'an in Lanzhou (terracotta warriors for eg), Gansu (Mogao caves, Mingsha Sand Dunes etc) , Xinjiang (Urumqi, Kashgar, Turpan for eg) - diverse ethnicities of central asian and indo-european origins, breathtaking landscapes and long history for e), you can even do the entire 2 wks just in Xinjiang, largest province My past experiences in travelling to China. There will be lots of domestic tourists in popular tourist destinations esp during their Spring Festival from early to mid Feb, and their National Day Golden Week in Oct. Avoid these periods at all costs if you do not want to get stuck in a sea of moving bodies. Hope it helps you in your research and how you want to mix and match the above suggested options in your 2nd trip there.
@@shallthomas1038 By nationality, I'm a born and bred Singaporean, By ethnicity, I'm a Chinese. I have visited China multiple times from early 2000 onwards. In my opinion, China and Chinese society still have many areas to improve upon, yet in some other aspects, eg. their infrastructure and technology have already surpassed some of the most advanced countries, eg. renewable energy, driverless buses, EVs, HSR, cashless payment methods, etc.
I'm not sure what "Western Media" you are watching in Singapore, but I almost never even see China mentioned here. About the only time they are mentioned is when republican politicians are throwing their name around, but I don't know anyone who takes them serious or views them as anything more than circus clowns.
@@quackersna you never saw how western media painting China? 😅 Even me someone from Indonesia getting Fed up from western media calling China was bad. Like their image sometimes stuck in 60'.
@@khoirunnisa2801 I literally only see China mentioned when republican politicians are accusing their opponents of business deals with China, and even in those times they are mostly talking about their opponents and just use the word China as a dog whistle to their brainwashed followers. That said, I don't really need the media to demonize China. They pretty much shaped my view themselves with their treatment of the demonstrators in Hong Kong, or with the debt traps they place for African nations. I don't need to know anything further to know that the government is trash, as most every government is, including my own.
Spot on Ken. I started visiting China 3 months ago. I’ve been to Shanghai Shenzhen Hefei Yiwu Guangzhou. Super clean super safe very helpful people. Anything you hear from Western media think the opposite and you know get the real China. Can’t wait to visit China again. ❤
If u r planning to visit china in January, pls try the southern part of china., such as shenzhen, canton. Winter can be very cold in northern part of china.
I’m so surprised that you have visited Hefei. Hefei is my hometown. Although it has a population of 10 million, it‘s not well-known, so people typically don't travel there.Welcome to China next time!
I worked in Shanghai for 7 years. With my stay in Shanghai, I totally agree with Ken. If only I can extend more years to stay in Shanghai, I would. The city is organized, clean, and people are nice. Although the people cannot speak English well, they will extend their help to the best of their ability. Regarding safety, I never witnessed or experienced any crime committed. I can even jog or walk alone around late in the evening until dawn without any worries. I even had an experience where I forgot my phone in a crowded restaurant, when I came back there 20 minutes later, my phone was still there. Nobody took it. If given the chance, I will certainly go back to Shanghai.
It's becoz u cannot escape from China's CCTV. Camera is everywhere dude! That is why nobody dare to commit crimes at all which people feel safe there. The fact at china is, people has no privacy at all but they can live in a safe environment
Let me correct the blogger's understanding. Hong Kong and Macau are not countries, but special administrative regions of China. I also recommend traveling to Chongqing city next time.
You praised China in this video, which is not in line with Western "political correctness". Once people realize that your description of China doesn't match what they think China should look like, they have two choices, either they think you're wrong or they admit they themselves are wrong. And for any adults, admitting they're wrong is a hard thing to do, so they'll probably admit in their personal minds that they might be wrong, but still continue to criticize you in the comments saying that you are wrong.
In fact, their elites all know it, but why do they publicize it like this? Because they think their system is excellent. If they reported truthfully, their faith would collapse.
I live in Shanghai for about a month now and will work here in the high tech sector for about three years! I also come from Germany and I am so impressed by everything I learn and see every day. Thank you for your fair and unbiased reports, just as you I was firstly impressed by the cleanness and quiteness...I never imagined that the 3rd largest city in the world is so quite!!! I say to all my friends: Come and visit China, Experience it by your own!!!
@george820822 I feel like you can help me out with my question 😊 Is there a particular VPN you’d recommend for a foreigner who will be moving to Shanghai soon with 2 kids?
This is what always frustrated me as a westerner visiting China, is that if you share your positive experience of china online and you're called a "CCP BOT" or "The CCP is paying you!" or they call you a shill.. It's really odd because if you say positive things about the USA, Europe, or any other country it's perfectly fine. For example, if I visited New York and said I had a good time no one would say "He's a CIA Bot! The American government is paying him to say this!" it shows how, quite literally, westerners ARE being brainwashed by media to distrust ANYTHING positive about china.
Because Americans are ashamed that they are 50 years behind in the roads , bridges , fast transport , NY subway is like from 2 centuries ago, semafors are hanging on the rope and winds are playing with them you always think it will and up trough your car roof on your head , cities are fool of tent cities , very dirty , homeless are sleeping on every bench , parts of the cities you can not even think to go , 39 mass shooting for this year , where in the world is that happening
Because they are all drip feed negative news each day. Every little piece of citizen misbehaviour that is tabloid news equivalent in the West is highlighted and magnified to the world as international news. Even in children's literature, they now portray them as the bad guys. Almost nothing positive is ever said, if any, is always paired with another negative angle to it.
I was in Shanghai last month, and I totally agree with all of your comments. In this day of age of US-China conflicts, and with US controlling all the international media, negativity to China is very much expected. Thanks for your videos.
I lived in Shanghai for 6 months in 2006 for my internship. Best time in my live. Love the city, love the people. They are honest, humble and fair. Never feeld unsafe for one second. Planning to visit Shanghai next year with my wife and kids. Show them an important time of my life. For those interested I am dutch and didn't speak Chinees. You can communicate with most Chinees people. Don't be afraid. Just go, enjoy and live❤
people thinking that the chinese government will place actors everywhere around the country to leave a good impression is crazy. this is ridiculous and is totally unlogical and going too far. love your videos and I am sorry to hear about the hate comments you are getting❤
@anglohan5428 Hahahaha, you leave the message under every comment. The truth about China hurts you. You can continue to live in your own dream. In the dream, you will get everything you want.
Most foreigners may only hear about Shanghai and Beijing, but I wouldn't recommend them as tourist destinations. Cities like Suzhou, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Nanjing and Xi 'an are more suitable for traveling and living. Historic ancient towns, temples, mountains, seas, deserts and grasslands, all the tourist intentions you can think of can be found in cities in China, but you must make a good strategy in advance.
@@yegeorge7832 Suzhou/Hangzhou/Nanjing are both close to Shanghai, personally I’d say similarities are much more than differences between them. Maybe Shanghai isn’t that ancient but it’s enough for tourists. If interested in history and culture, Xi‘an is also a choice.
I have been to China twice, once for 11 days and the other time for 17 days. Every positive thing you have mentioned is 100% true. I have traveled extensively, and i would say that the parts of China i visited were some of the safest places i have been. Other than the airport,Beijing,Shanghai, i didn't even see a cop in public. If you are expecting to see hoards of bucktooth coolies pulling rickshaws you are going to be very disappointed.Very modern, very clean, and an amazing transportation system.Sure, there are tons of cameras, but everyone is friendly, curious, and courteous. As a Aussie Male, I've been to China. I was pleasantly surprised how much more advanced China is to many of the Western Countries I've been to ... even USA (I could not get over the amount of poverty in USA ... 37 Million living in 3rd World Conditions ... e.g. Street People in Kensington Philadelphia, Tent People in Venice Beach California, Caravan People in Kentucky, Car People in Miami, Sewer People in NYC, etc.)......Have fun.Ken.
Dear, the reason you cannot see any low end populations in Shanghai is merely because the government forced them to leave Shanghai city........ Poor Chinese never have their rights to choose to stay or leave
@@shinchancrayon8420 You are such a stupid guy. Our country gives the poorest people better treatment than ordinary citizens. They are registered separately, have free medical insurance, and free schooling for their children. The state pays them a minimum guaranteed income every month, and there are dedicated officials to provide them with Serve. Let them attend training. Their houses were built with state subsidies. Why are you still wandering like this?
Ken: I like your unassuming attitude and your honesty. The fact that you don’t expect people in foreign countries speaking English already set you apart from many western travel UA-camrs. You don’t have western superiority mindset. Keep your good work! You got a new subscriber.
I think it is only the British and US Americans the only ones who expect people in other countries to speak their own language. I am from Spain and I never expect local people to speak Spanish which is one of the most spoken languages in the world. Still from time to time I find some people who can speak Spanish in the most strange or random places. Common sense says that in a country you should expect people to speak the major local language, and not necessarily other.
As Chinese, I feel honored and happy after finishing watching this video. You are welcomed again to China. Honestly we don’t have the bad news via the Chinese public media.People here are very safe and happy. Please don’t judge the country without seeing truth and visiting.

Ken your videos on China are awesome. I enjoy your unbiased and truthful view of the country. Living in the US, we rarely get the truth about China from the media and other sources. I have always questioned the reports from our media so it is not surprising how they misinterpret the true facts. I would love to visit Shanghai and I hope the US will eventually work towards a reciprocal and respectful relationship with China. It would benefit not only the US but with the world as well. I cannot wait for your next travels there. Safe travels my friend! Keep up the good work😊
If you ever have listened to western media, making hateful lies and misinformation about China just to make China look bad, the typical western corporate mainstream media, if you even listened to them, I feel pity for you
The reason why Western politicians and media spread rumors to smear China is that Western countries have always demonized the socialist system, but China's success in implementing the socialist system has made Western countries very embarrassed. Therefore, the Western media is afraid that too many Westerners will know about China's success. Can tell lies to deceive Westerners.
Western politicians and media have always wondered "Why don't the Chinese people rise up against the CCP?" In the eyes of Western politicians and media, the CCP is evil and authoritarian, but in the eyes of the Chinese people, the CCP is a political party that serves the interests of the people wholeheartedly. The Chinese people are very satisfied with the CCP.
I recently went to Xiamen, Fuzhou, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou. What struck me was how green the cities were. There were mature street trees everywhere providing a bit of shade from the sun. Another thing was the lack of engine noise and gas fumes, due to the ebikes and electric cars, busses and trucks. Finally the sense of safety. No loud, shirtless, intoxicated, aggressive lout screaming for attention. No hoons revving and challenging others to race, actually I did hear loud revving once in Shanghai but that was the only time. The streets were very well lit at night, I'd take evening walks around the street blocks and check out the night markets and mobile food stalls, with no fear or thought of putting my cellphone away like I would've in other parts of the world. But a word of caution...while theft is almost non-existent, there are lady scammers working along Nanjing Rd in Shanghai targetting single male tourists. I suggest you visit Hangzhou or Qingdao next Ken.
My husband and I visited Shanghai in 2019 omg it’s fantastic fell in love with China, was going back in 2020 but didn’t happen. Now planning our next trip in 2025 to Beijing. Loved your video of Shanghai brought back amazing memories, fabulous food, welcoming and friendly people. An amazing country.
I'm from Shanghai and I'm very happy that you enjoyed your trip in Shanghai. If you come to China again early next year, you need to avoid the Chinese New Year holiday, because at that time there will be hundreds of millions of people on their way back to their hometowns and traveling, and it is not easy for tourists to buy tickets. Welcome to China again.
How long the CNY holiday last anyway? Next year CNY is on the 10th Feb and i'm planning to visit on the 27th yet my friend said to avoid visiting until April. 🤔
@@syasyanorulhuda9445 February 27th is okay, the Spring Festival holiday is over. There is no problem if you travel to the eastern coastal and southern cities, but it is still too cold in the north, and it is not the most suitable season for northwest and plateau areas (natural landscapes) such as Xinjiang, Tibet, Qinghai, and Gansu.
@@bfc4837 oh i'm just going for disneyland. Reasons why i picked the 27th because i see that the flight and hotel rate are on the cheaper side, CNY is over and i checked that school holiday also over. In fact, that's the first week of school (if the information i read is correct). So i figured the crowd in the park would be low on weekdays. And yet, here my friend told me to avoid it because school holiday still on and people still on holiday so he said the park would be extremely crowded. He's married to chinese wife so China is like second home to him.
I visited HK, Guangzhou and Shanghai back in October. I flew into HK, took the high speed rail into GZ and stayed there for 5 days. After, i took the HSR again and went to Shanghai for 7 days. After Shanghai, I took the HSR to HK. I had been planning this trip for about 3 years and at first, it was mainly to SH because I went there many years ago and last time I went, i did not have a good experience because I got sick. Since that time, whenever someone brought up Shanghai, I would be reminded of that negative experience. It was only recently that i watched other travel vloggers going to China and noticed that a lot had changed....for the better! Good food, safe environment and great infrastructure. In my SH trip, I also went to Zhujiajiao but I felt I didn't go as thorough as you did. I was born in HK and moved to Canada many years ago so I am very aware of the stereotypes that HKers have about the mainland. It's great that you went to see all this in person because it's really eye opening.
I was in China for 21 days in October this year. It is a beautiful place to visit. Everything you said is true! I would definitely like to visit again.
Love all your videos Ken As a westerner and a tourist myself we are truly blinded by most western mainstream media. I've never been to China, after watching your video i will do so. Unfortunately where I'm from we have to apply for visa. Your video have shown the openness of truth, direct contact with locals and watching through your eyes and lens is anazing. You're one of most honest and innocent UA-camr, providing the best travel contents. Thank you Ken, take care and stay safe wherever you are. I hope to see your next visit to the rest of China in the future.
Please come! I would say avoid July and August, cuz the whole nation in general is so hot 😅. If you have a bit more time I would definitely recommend to boldly go to some rural areas. Transportation is much more convenient these days. Flight Train, or hire a local driver. If you’re big on nature, you’ll love Sichuan, yunnan, Guangxi provinces. For culture, definitely Xinjiang, Guizhou and Yunnan provinces, many ethnic communities, great food too! The only thing I would keep my eyes is for many tourist spot, prices tend to go up a lot . Some planning should solve that
You will enjoy your visit I'm sure. There's so much to see and do ... Hello Ken, As a Qingdao native, I would like to invite you to visit Qingdao, a famous seaside tourist city with beautiful scenery. It was once colonized by Germany, leaving behind many German buildings as well as the German beer industry (Tsingtao beer is one of the best-selling beers in China today)
Yes, Tsingtao beer is light and refreshing guess from the natural water it uses. Pssst, this beer will be less likely to give you a hangover headache...😊
Why do you always mention Germany? You seem proud to have been colonized by Germany? Today, Qingdao has undergone earth-shaking changes. Why refer to the colonists so shamelessly?

In China, we have a saying "夏虫不可语冰" which is a fascinating idiom and powerful metaphor. When translated into English, it means "not to talk about ice with a summer insect." Imagine a summer insect, which only exists for a few months during the summer, wouldn't understand what ice is if you tried to explain it to them. They have no concept of winter because their lifespan never includes that season. This metaphor signifies the limitations of one's knowledge and understanding due to a restricted perspective or a lack of exposure to certain experiences. It also implies a person's narrow-mindedness and ignorance of deeper truths. So let haters believe what they believe while u enjoy ur future trips exploring the world. I enjoyed your videos very much btw.😊
The saying "不见为净" which means what you don't see, it's clean. That is why Chinese government censors a lot of negative news about the country. Discuss anything of concerning, your post gets removed and account potentially suspended. Only show the good side! ua-cam.com/video/dZXutPyCE8U/v-deo.html
As a half German half Chinese living in Germany, I really want to thank you for your vlogs in Shanghai. They were really interesting and your insights are what many foreigners coming to China experience. There are so many beautiful cities and I can really recommend Chingqing, Guangzhou of course Beijing, Xiamen and many more. Just don’t let yourself get downed by these rude, stupid and unthoughtful comments. Thankfully, many comments here actually know their stuff and are very motivating, which is very nice to see.
All of the hate and vicious attacks that Ken is getting are coming from the racist bigots that feared China is surpassing the US in every way! That’s why they use the propaganda talking points of their country to attack Ken and other people that speak the truth about China - because they know the truth that Ken shares about China is shattering their lies and propaganda! Did you know the US spends over $90 billion a year on spreading lies and propaganda against China, Russia, and Iran? The vast majority of that $90.3 billion is spent on spreading propaganda and lies against China! The US has gone as far as controlling the news stations of other countries to spread lies about China! So you could only imagine the length the US goes to to spread lies about China in its own news stations, newspapers, magazines, social media sites, movies, radio stations, bloggers, books, etc! African writers were paid $1000 a piece if they could write a good negative story about China! This is how vicious and looney the falling evil empire has become!
Thanks Ken. I really enjoyed watching the series of videos covering your entire Shanghai trip. I will be visiting Shanghai and Beijing next month. I really like the honest and clear descriptions in those videos. Dont worry what other viewers said about your videos. Hi Ken, I really suggest checking out Yunnan Province. It might not be the wealthiest place, but it's incredibly rich in ethnic diversity and natural wonders, with everything from snowy peaks to lush tropical areas. Getting around is easy thanks to the well-developed high-speed train network. Just a tip: try to avoird the super touristy streets. Yunnan is a vibrant mix of different landscapes, species, and cultural experiences - truly must go
Really enjoyed this Q&A video. Very impressed with how you addressed the negative comments and did not let it sway your honest opinions/impressions of China.
Well, Ken, thank you very much for sharing your honest thoughts about your trip to Shanghai, China. It will help to open the eyes, minds and hearts of those who always have that "hate feeling" towards the country. I would suggest you to visit Southern China like Xiamen, Guangdong or Fujian as Beijing will be very cold in January/February. Hainan Island is interesting too. Anyway, thanks again for your China series which l liked and loved watching. Great job, Ken 👍🫰💪

The 'hate feeling' could actually be jealousy in disguise. Seeing their declining economic power decline in the face of China's economic prosperity could actually drive anger and jealousy.
Glad to hear so much of your genuine thoughts during your short stay in Shanghai.Every place which you have not visited before will surely captivate one's interest for sure.Continue to enjoy your travels Ken and stay positive.💕🇲🇾
As a Chinese I honestly appreciate your willingness to show the real China to the world, China is not a perfect country but the world can't have a perfect country either We still have shortcomings but we have been trying to change and improve in recent decades. But China has always been at a disadvantage in the war of public opinion, the world's mainstream media is basically controlled by the West more to create rumors to smear China, which leads to a lot of European and American friends do not understand how the real China, we also hope that more and more friends in the world can put aside the preconceived notions of the world to come to China to experience this experience, this experience is absolutely very good, and I would very much welcome Ken to come back to China again!
Go watch & subscribe to "Little Chinese Everywhere", she's from China & shoot amazing & outstanding videos of china, especially the Unseen China! It's like a documentary!!!
I believe you were genuine about everything you've shown and so far, seeing a visit to china through your experiences, was the best so far. Very well done.
If u are interested in visiting a coastal city in china, I would highly recommend Qingdao( also spelled as Tsingtao). It’s a very beautiful and clean coastal city and famous for beers and seafood. By the way it was colonized by Germany during the First World War. So there are also many German buildings from that time in this city.
Thank you Ken for being honest and for telling us your true experience in China. No country is perfect but it is good to know that you had a good experience in China which unfortunately will disappoint a lot of western people who have been spreading negative narrative all things China. The video coming from your especially with your standing as a well known unbiased and honest vblogger traveler must have embarrassed these China haters and they must be kicking themselves as they can't exactly admit that they are wrong. I am looking forward to your next video.
Thanks Ken for your great experience and positive comment on Shanghai, which is my hometown. I love my country, and your video is exactly true and objective to show my hometown
hi, Ken, after watching several of your recent trip videos to Asia since last week, I decided to subscribe. The reason is very simple which is that you are quite objective about your visit and your true feelings. Not biased nor prejudiced or influenced by western media. I like the way very much you try to talk and interact with the local people wherever you visit, which is also different from many other visit videos in which most travelers are doing either monologue or are afraid of communicating with the locals due to language barrier. Please keep on doing this which will bring your video more insightful than others. By the way, I am a Chinese working and living in France and already travel to most of countries in the world, including all the places in your video. So I could easily judge and understand what you are talking about. As a Chinese living in the west most of the time in the past two decades (but I return to china to see family members every year and know the fast development of China very well), I fully understand how biased, negative and sometimes ridiculous the western media could be in particular when they report on China. Anyway the West must remember that deliberately demeaning China will never help the West to become better.
People who have not been to China (or anywhere) personally should NOT be commenting negatively about that country. Open your eyes people and experience the world! Peace and love. Great Q & A Ken.
Pls tell us how covid got started in Wuhan. My uncle died from it, we owed him an explanation. Also why the Chinese gov always silences those who questioned about the origin of covid?
@@OMGThisIsAwesome In September 2019, a large-scale influenza occurred in the United States, and the World Military Games was held in Wuhan on October 18, 2019. After that, the COVID-19 epidemic occurred in Wuhan. On March 11, 1918, at the Finston barracks in Kansas, a private soldier complained to the nurse that he had a cold, sore throat, a headache and sore muscles. This is the earliest case on record and is also known as the first patient of Spanish flu. This flu first appeared in the United States but is called Spanish flu. Why is it called Spanish flu? Because Spain valued the virus, it did not hide and reported the "flu".
I feel so sorry that you had received so many nagative commets just becuz of traveling in china, and I am so appreciate you have your own honest thought ,anyway welcom to china! best wishes my friend.❤❤
I'm from Beijing and currently live in London. Based on my personal experience, Beijing and Chongqing could be the best cities for foreigners to visit. Beijing may not be as organized as Shanghai, but it has more historical architecture. Chongqing has the best city view in China, even compared to Hong Kong, and the street food there is amazing, though it's more spicy.
@@JohnSmith-sm7ezNonsense!! In Europe thieves often visit you, in South America you can’t even save your life, those who don’t like organizations are potential criminals!!
Look at Shanghai for 100 years of Chinese history, look at Beijing for 1000 years, and look at Xi'an for 5000 years of Chinese history. Xi'an, together with Athens, Rome, and Cairo, is known as the four ancient capitals in the world.
@@JohnSmith-sm7ez”organized” does have different levels of meaning, and if it makes people upset may depend on which level or aspect it is on (okay I tried my best to say what I meant but here’s the limit of my language). Of course Shanghai have to be organized to some extend to prevent, say, gridlock on every street, but such kind of organisation doesn’t prevent great vibes from happening. If you enjoy interaction with people you can go to the local markets, or if you enjoy a peaceful but vibrant environment you go can go to the interesting malls everywhere. (I do admit there is no places like European old towns centres in most Chinese cities. Development history is a reason, over-tourism is another, and on top of that is that Chinese do not have a concept of a cozy, relaxed, pedestrianised town)
I’m glad that you enjoyed your time in China and is planning on visiting again. If you’re planning to visit again early next year, it’s best to avoid the Chinese New year holiday from the end of January to mid February. During the Chinese New Year holiday there will be crowds everywhere in China and railway/flights will be running at full capacity since many people will be travelling. And a tip if you plan to visit Beijing, be aware that many tourist attractions will be closed on certain days of the week and may require appointment in advance so you might want to do some research and plan ahead. Apart from Beijing and Shenzhen, some South western cities in China are also worth visiting, Chengdu and Chongqing for example are famous for their hot foods and hotpots.
thank you for your honest opinions. China is so vast that there are endless places you can visit. Winter is the best time to explore china's southern coast and visit cities like Xiamen, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, or head north to experience the extreme cold. Yunnan province (especially Lijiang and Dali) is also a great place to see because of the warm climate there. When it gets warmer, you can start visiting the inland areas such as Chengdu, Chongqin, Beijing
Thank you for telling the truth, the problems I always encounter is westerner that never go to China always the one saying the bad thing towards China, not to mention someone is not always open minded and respectful as you. Idk why the people that usually never going there always the one that so vocal about hatred towards China City. Again thank you for telling the truth 🙏
Thank you for sharing your experience in China. I really enjoyed watching your videos. I'm not influenced by western media on what to think of other places or people. I look forward visiting there soon.
Unbelievable how some people bad mouthed you for visiting, I have subscribed for many years and always found your videos honest and open, regarding anyone who has unsubscribed, it's their loss, you are better without such people. My wife's family are from a southern Island of China, Hainan and went to Sarawak Malaysia 3 and 4 generations ago.
People shouldn't be deterred from traveling because of language barriers. I've been to places where very little English is spoken. Russia is probably the most challenging. But humans no matter who they are have common ways of communicating through gestures, facial expressions, etc. And nowadays, we have translation apps on our phones
I’m glad that some foreign visitors speak truths of China after their trips. As a Chinese i definitely know there are still some gaps between us and developed countries like Japan and Singapore, but i can say China is way better than some people might think. Thanks for your sharing of your trip!!
Ken always shows us one of the most important things while traveling to new places-an open mind. Why not go to explore and figure out all the questions yourself instead of holding that stereotype forever.
Thank you Ken for being so open and objective about what you have seen in China. Also cheers for your bravery to share your true thoughts despite of all the negative and insulting comments. Nice job Ken!!
Your comments are really true for China. I'm a Chinese students studying in Poland. Firstly, China is very very safe, you don' need to worry about your safety although in midnight. And also, the common price of the goods the hotels is lower than western country,.In fact, shanghai is the most expensive city in mainland of China. For me, last year I went to a city for a trip, the total costs just about 1000yuan(150dollar without planes) for 3 days. Secondly, I would to recommend some beautiful city you can choose. Except Beijing and Shanghai, the south of china have Guangzhou, a modern large city in china, Kunming, a beautiful city with good view and many cheap fruits. The middle of China, you can go to Xi'an, a historical city with many ancient viewings. The north of China, Harbin is a good choice, it is so cold and you can see many different landscapes if you live in south. If you want to see the ocean, you can go to Qingdao, a city live in the mountain and sea. All of the city above have the subway, so the transportation is so convenient. If everyone have any question about China, you can contact with me. Finally, WELCOME TO CHINA!!!
I've seen many foreign visiters coming to China and they always visit Shanghai or Beijing. I must say that these two cities are definitely phenomenal. Just wanna add some other destinations that I had been to in China to Ken and those who want to explore other parts of China: 1. Chongqing: a mountainous city famous for its complex terrain and architecture. It is the city with the most bridges in China and be aware, the food here is spicy! Make sure you try the hot pot here. 2. Chengdu: it's one of the chilliest cities in China. If you want to see the pandas and try some delicious spicy food, here is the place.(It's close to Chongqing, so you guys can visit them altogether) 3. Hangzhou: currently, it's the fifth major city in China. Hangzhou is famous for the beautiful West Lake and the silk culture. Many young people are choosing Hangzhou instead of Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou to start their career. So you can feel a vibrant atmosphere in the city. The city is an hour away by high speed railway from Shanghai, you can visit Shanghai and Hangzhou altogether. 4. Changsha: this is the city where party people never sleep. The Wuyi Square is one of the craziest commercial district I've ever seen in China. The local Xiang cuisine(湘菜) is pretty famous. And there is a milktea brand call Sexytea(茶颜悦色), many people come to Changsha only for a cup of Sexytea. I've also tried it, and I LOVE it. 5. Xiamen: it might not be a famous tourist spot for foreign visitors, but many Chinese couples would choose Xiamen as a honeymoon desination. It is a coast city located in Fujian province. The downtown of it is an island and other parts of the city are just across the bay. The culture and the food(not spicy) there are pretty similar to Taiwan. I highly recommend you to explore the main island on foot or by bike. China is a big country and there are so many great places to visit(Xi'an, Nanjing, Suzhou, Guilin, Guiyang, Zhangjiajie and Tianjin...). But I can only offer you some insights of mine toward the five cities that I have been to. You can google them to search for more travel details. And Ken, thank you for your videos, I really enjoyed them!
Looking forward to seeing your future videos of China. Most people when they get to China they are surprised how different it is compared to how western media portrays the country.
so one needs to collect data by themself, seeing and experiencing yourself, or West media will brainwash you to be a hater of a country you don't know.
Lived in Shanghai for 5 months. I totally agree with your comments about the city being clean and well-organized. It's so easy to get around on the amazing subway system that's extremely safe and clean. Moreover, all signage is in English and Chinese! Fantastic city way beyond any city I've experienced in North America or Europe in terms of infrastructure. However, you can't drink the water and the air can get bad at times.
That was a great short series in China Ken. Hopefully you'll be back in the future to show us more, the country is large so surely there is plenty more to see.
Many thanks Ken for your honest opinion....Unfortunately in this world, people who do not travel far and wide are extremely negative and bias or even racist towards other non Western countries... Look at the homelessness in the West...Very sad indeed. Keep up your good honest work. Stay safe, healthy & prosperous...Australia
I really like your China trip Ken, i haven't been there yet.. you have showed me how big city in Shanghai looks like. I also looking forward to visit big city in China such as Shanghai and Beijing. thank you for bringing us along in this Shanghai trip. keep it up!
Shanghai currently has 12 world records. 1. The longest subway in the world is 831 kilometers in Shanghai. 2. The world’s largest transportation hub is in Shanghai. 3. The world’s largest planetarium is in Shanghai. 4. Shanghai has the world’s largest indoor skating rink. 5. @anglohan5428 Hahahaha, you leave the message under every comment. The truth about China hurts you. You can continue to live in your own dream. In the dream, you will get everything you want.
Good video thanks 🙏 I have a similar view of China as you I love China. I’m a Canadian and lived and taught there from 2009 to 2016. Like everywhere 90% of the people are good and decent. It’s sad that so many people in the west have a negative distorted view of China. Of course they haven’t been there. Some of my favourite cities are Shanghai, Hong Kong, Hangzhou and Guangzhou. The big cities are well organized and you’ll find some people speak English. Get out of the big cities and 99% of the people have no English. Thank goodness for google translate. I recommend you take trains to travel. The train system is excellent. Lots of high speed trains. And for long distance I liked to take sleeper trains. I look forward to seeing more videos I also want to go back to travel and see friends. I was in Shanghai in May. It was great to be back. I’m looking forward to going back again
The world will be a much better place if everyone is kind and honest like you. 99% of the population on this planet don't like hostility and bias (although they may unconciously have from time to time). Kindess and honesty is the cure for us.
I really enjoyed your videos on China. I think you really capture the spirit of Chinese people the deliciousness of the food. I was there this summer and I literally ate my way through that country, the food is so different and so delicious and they really do remarkable things with vegetables, which I don’t really like in America, but really enjoyed in China. I look forward to more videos from you because of your honesty and your willingness to film everything like not being able to get a can of soda from a machine or little irritations was really great and you’re really thorough and I’m definitely subscribed to your channel now.
I'm from Nanjing, used to live in England and Sweden but recently am living in Suzhou. I think both Beijing and Shenzhen are fine but they're just similar Mega cities like Shanghai. If you truly want to explore the uniqueness of China, other cities might give you a more surprising experience. For travelling purposes, I think Yunnan is one of the best options because of its beauty and weather; Sichuan is also good, especially for visiting pandas. Guiling is also good because the landform is very unique. If you're a city boy, I think Chongqing is super cyberpunk. Many cities like Xi'an, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Suzhou are worth visiting. Haha too many options, maybe you can just follow your heart and randomly choose several places.
Recommendations for city choice: You can very roughly split China into different areas with key cities, each with slightly different culture: Northeastern China (Cold snowy area, e.g. Harbin), Southeastern China(River Delta with many rivers and lakes e.g. Nanjing, Hangzhou, Shanghai) , Southwest China (Mountains, rivers, and forests, e.g. Chengdu, Chongqing) , Middle Area (Kinda dry area? Shanxi province) , West China (Tibet), Northwest China (Xingjiang), South China(Tropical, e.g. Guangzhou, Shenzhen), Southwest China( Tropical but also some high altitude area, e.g. Kunming, Guilin, Dali[super beautiful]). 1. if you want to go urban and popular sites: Major cities like Beijing, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Guangzhou. 2. If you like adventure in remote areas: Tibet and Xinjiang (Not sure about regulation on foreigners but definitely would be mind-blowing beautiful experience.)
I think you're a very, very honest person and I stand by the videos you do. Next time you come to China, consider Chengdu, Xi'an, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. Each city has its own food and characteristics.
Thank you so much for not being affected by the negative comments and for being willing to tell your true feelings about your trip to China❤❤❤I'll always support your channel.
I had the chance to live in Shanghai for 2 years, i have moved to Shanghai due to my job and i can sincerely say that Shanghai is the most beuatiful and most advance city in the world in term of technology. Shanghay is the best place in the world and it´s an amazing place to live, it´s the city of contrast, technology and traditions.
Good that you enjoyed China, it's very interesting country. My recommendation for which cities to visit in China, other than typical Shanghai, Beijing & Hong Kong. While going to Hong Kong could go Shenzhen, Guangzhou. Try to go the old capital cities - like Hangzhou, Xi An or coastal city like Qingdao (place they made beer, previous German concession) or Xiamen (opposite Taiwan) or Harbin (Russia border). You will enjoy these places.
I live in Shanghai. Really glad to hear that you have had a wonderful trip in Shanghai. Beijing is a good option, but I strongly recommend you to go to Xi'an. I am not sure if you like to explore Chinese ancient history. It is a three-hour flight from Shanghai. Xi'an used to be the capital city of 13 ancient dynasties in Chinese history. It is a very old city, and you will find many ancient buildings there, as well as traditional Chinese food like dumplings (饺子), noodles (Biang Biang 面), and Chinese hamburgers (肉夹馍) that you can’t miss. They are all very tasty. I believe you’ll like it. Wish you have a fun trip in China😃
Special reminder: some tourist attractions in Beijing need to be booked 1-2 days in advance through mobile phone software. Because there are too many people, there are restrictions on the number of people entering every day. This is not only true for foreigners, but also for Chinese and Beijingers.
Nice video. Good to see a positive video of a real life experience in Shanghai. I have been here 16 years with no plans to leave at the moment. Life is excellent here. Some friends left Shanghai during the pandemic, but have returned, why, life is so good here.
Hi Ken, thanks for sharing your video in Shanghai where it's my hometown. If you would like to revisit China again. You may like to go Bejing, Shenzhen, Hanzhou, Chongqing, a lot of attractive places to go. Hope you enjoy the trip. By the way, I am planning to go back to Shanghai too during Chinese New Year which is early February.
I'm glad you're visiting in China! As a Chinese university student, I'd like to recommend some destinations for your next trip here. 1.Zhangjiajie(张家界). It offers breathtaking views of towering sandstone pillars and lush forests. The stunning natural landscapes is unique in the world. 2.ChongQing(重庆), showcases a unique blend of modernity and traditional Chinese culture.Cyberpunk style. 3.Xi'An(西安), With its rich historical significance, Xi'an was once the capital of 13 Chinese dynasties. It boasts numerous ancient buildings and landmarks that reflect its glorious past.
Here's a small suggestion for you. If you want to go to Beijing, you need to make an appointment one day in advance for some famous attractions because there is a large population of tourists in Beijing. In order to control the number of tourists and provide a better experience, these attractions have taken this measure.

I never see so honor and humble visitor like u!

I'm going to China next year. Did you use your own country sim or China sim? VPN?
Use your own country's SIM, then you don't need VPN.
👍💯
@@thebradelonge5758if u use a foreign sim and roaming service you won’t need VPN, but expensive. I mean the vpn service I use is only like 1 usd a month😂 and a local SIM card is whole lot more convenient. So why not set up a VPN anyway. It’s ok to use a vpn in China, just illegal to set up a vpn for commercial purposes(selling the service to others).
It’s really ironic that people who have never been to China are questioning people who have been to China.
Lol I know right! 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Because the truth is hard for them to fathom. They have been constantly brainwashed. Living in a delusion world. I just feel sorry for them living with such negative energy.
Yeah it’s almost like China is a vast country of over a billion people and millions of visitors every year lol
That's because they've been brainwashed with misinformation and propagada by their media and politicians.
Absolutely
Respect!
你是个好人,祝你快乐平安
Visited China last month and stayed there for a month. I am sixty year old retired professor from New York now living in the Philippines. My wife and I traveled with our ninety five year old aunt and stayed in China for a month. We went to five cities, starting with Beijing, Xian, Chongqing, Guangzhou and finally Shanghai. In short it was a perfect trip for us and I fully concur with what you say about China. It was clean, organized, systematic and best of all fantastic food. Best of all Chinese people are kind and treated my nonagenarian aunt with respect and love.
Respect! 95-years old but still make such a long tour. I wish I could also do it when I am 95.
That is nice, you and your families enjoyed the trip in China. There are more in China to explore.
we are returning with her next October for another tour of Chengdu and other regions, this time strictly gastronomical with some cultural shows thrown in@@xucg

Ignore the negative comments from people who’ve probably never left there sofa. I recommend going to Guilin in the south, it’s absolutely stunning. Beautiful river running through the mountains.
When traveling to Guilin, you can go to Liuzhou and eat snail noodle in Liuzhou.😍

Same in Hong Kong. About 2 millions people still have negative feeling towards their own country.
I haven’t been to Shanghai for 42 years and look forward to going back in 2024. We Americans need to better understand China today and break down real and perceived barriers. Our countries are too interdependent and important not to get along. Peaceful cooperation is essential to making the world a better place.
wow..Shanghai 42 years ago is completely different from Shanghai now. This trip will definitely be unforgettable for you.
Welcome very much, society is made up of people, politics won't make people eat and dress warmly, we need each other!
42年没来中国 您的多大呀😂
你确定?你怎么会在42年前去中国的,那是也就少数有特殊背景的美国官员和企业有机会来中国
42 years … in China’s scale it is an eternity.
Speaking as a Singaporean who first went to China in 2000 and multiple times thereafter (helped by the fact we are given visa free travel), China has come a long way. The traffic, the manners of people, the public toilet hygiene, the environmental pollution all have improved vastly. Just to comment a few things:
1) I think western media have fed their viewers either half truths or false narratives so extensively that even with so many western foreigners going there and vlogging, their minds have become so fixated on only the negative that they refuse to entertain any other possibilities about China, falling back on allegations and accusations that these peoples must have been paid by the Govt.
2) Ken, if I've to recommend where you can optimise your visit on a 15-day visa, here are a few suggestions:-
a) Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia (province) - capital of China, nature
b) HK, then travel into province Guangdong (Shenzhen, Guangzhou - cities), nearby province Guangxi - most advance coastal provinces like driverless buses, and Guangxi for great landscapes
c) province Sichuan (capital - Chengdu), Chongqing, Guizhou - panda, landscapes, hilly city
d) province Yunnan (Kunming capital, Lijiang, Xishuangbanna etc) - diverse ethnicities and great landscapes, ( I feel can do Sichuan & Yunnan together but can be quite packed)
e) From Lanzhou to Xinjiang, retracing part of the the ancient silk route of China
- for Xi'an in Lanzhou (terracotta warriors for eg), Gansu (Mogao caves, Mingsha Sand Dunes etc) , Xinjiang (Urumqi, Kashgar, Turpan for eg) - diverse ethnicities of central asian and indo-european origins, breathtaking landscapes and long history
for e), you can even do the entire 2 wks just in Xinjiang, largest province
My past experiences in travelling to China.

I'm not sure what "Western Media" you are watching in Singapore, but I almost never even see China mentioned here.
Although it has a population of 10 million, it‘s not well-known, so people typically don't travel there.Welcome to China next time!
why not go to Hangzhou, the best city in china

In Ciqikou Chongqing last year, I left my bag in a restaurant, and I found it was still there 10 minutes later.
Very wise explanation sir
haha
In fact, their elites all know it, but why do they publicize it like this? Because they think their system is excellent. If they reported truthfully, their faith would collapse.
It's called denial

Part of China bashing.....
It’s the illusion of choice, if they have everyone thinking the same people will always vote for what the government wants them to.
The same goes for Russia. No traveler - Gareth Leonard, Travelling with Russell, Sasha Meets Russia - has ever said anything bad about it.
I was in Shanghai last month, and I totally agree with all of your comments. In this day of age of US-China conflicts, and with US controlling all the international media, negativity to China is very much expected. Thanks for your videos.
You can google "Congress Proposes $500 Million for Negative News Coverage of China". US government uses tax payers' money to smear China.
But CCP is prevailing the media in China too. They fed the Chinese what the government wants to propagate.😢
China could well resolve the issue by stopping their support to North Korea and China. This is what troubles the West the most.
I lived in Shanghai for 6 months in 2006 for my internship.

Too many. In general so many big cities while just towns in other countries
Beijing is actually exactly what you have described

@@syasyanorulhuda9445 February 27th is okay, the Spring Festival holiday is over. In China, we have a saying "夏虫不可语冰" which is a fascinating idiom and powerful metaphor.
When translated into English, it means "not to talk about ice with a summer insect."
Imagine a summer insect, which only exists for a few months during the summer, wouldn't understand what ice is if you tried to explain it to them.

I am looking forward to your next video.
also Xi'an🎉❤😊
All of the hate and vicious attacks that Ken is getting are coming from the racist bigots that feared China is surpassing the US in every way!
Anyway the West must remember that deliberately demeaning China will never help the West to become better.
deliberately demeaning China will never help the West to become better. how true!
Will complaint make improvements? Take it positively and do improvements. No one is prefect.
Or only ..... is the perfect one.
@@HveedLiu We all know this is a fake news from the Chinese gov. But we do know covid started in Wuhan, not U.S.A .
@@OMGThisIsAwesome yeah, and there sure is no free speak, you cannot say anything neg about the govment there,
@@HveedLiu ahum not true.
Most don’t want organised. People like European old towns and chaotic places in South America , like Mexico City.
@@JohnSmith-sm7ezNonsense!! In Europe thieves often visit you, in South America you can’t even save your life, those who don’t like organizations are potential criminals!!
中国历史100年看上海,1000年看北京,5000年中国历史看西安,西安与雅典、罗马、开罗并称为世界四大古都
Welcome back, bro. We are not perfect but definitely not how western media described. For the haters, please come to visit yourself.

The saddest thing is to watch those who have been brainwashed by Western media but still believe they have free will talk
You are one of the “bridge builders” - world peace depends on people like you! Good job.
I went there for 9 days last week, starting from Beijing, Tianjin, to Shanghai, Hangzhou and Wuxi. Very memorable for me to be honest as an Indonesian
Looking forward to see more videos about you pay a formal visit to China in the future, glad that you liked it there!
I've seen many foreign visiters coming to China and they always visit Shanghai or Beijing. I must say that these two cities are definitely phenomenal. Just wanna add some other destinations that I had been to in China to Ken and those who want to explore other parts of China:
1. Chongqing: a mountainous city famous for its complex terrain and architecture. It is the city with the most bridges in China and be aware, the food here is spicy! Make sure you try the hot pot here.
2. Chengdu: it's one of the chilliest cities in China. If you want to see the pandas and try some delicious spicy food, here is the place.(It's close to Chongqing, so you guys can visit them altogether)

@anglohan5428 free your mind from western propaganda
Lived in Shanghai for 5 months. I totally agree with your comments about the city being clean and well-organized. It's so easy to get around on the amazing subway system that's extremely safe and clean. Moreover, all signage is in English and Chinese! Fantastic city way beyond any city I've experienced in North America or Europe in terms of infrastructure. However, you can't drink the water and the air can get bad at times.
That was a great short series in China Ken. Hopefully you'll be back in the future to show us more, the country is large so surely there is plenty more to see.
Definitely going to return 💪
Many thanks Ken for your honest opinion....Unfortunately in this world, people who do not travel far and wide are extremely negative and bias or even racist towards other non Western countries...
Look at the homelessness in the West...Very sad indeed. Keep up your good honest work. Stay safe, healthy & prosperous...Australia
Thanks!
Thank you 🙏😊

Good video thanks 🙏
I have a similar view of China as you
I love China.
I look forward to seeing more videos
I also want to go back to travel and see friends.
Glad you enjoyed the videos and appreciate the feedback 🙏
Yes.loved all those cities
I want to visit Chongqing!!
Agree

Thanks for your honesty.Welcome to visit China at any time.
Thank you for answering my question. I too felt the same when I first visited China 4 years ago.
People of Shanghai are very open minded ,nice and friendly
Ken, I appreciate your comments towards China. Wish you make more travel videos and looking forward for you to come back! Greetings from Beijing.
Wish you have a fun trip in China😃
welcome to China! Thanks for your real comments. ❤❤❤❤
Special reminder: some tourist attractions in Beijing need to be booked 1-2 days in advance through mobile phone software. Because there are too many people, there are restrictions on the number of people entering every day. This is not only true for foreigners, but also for Chinese and Beijingers.
I strongly support your warm visit to China, looking forward your next deep visit to my country again.
Greetings from California. Ignore the haters. Haters are going to hate. Keep up your good work. We enjoy your videos. We are new subscribers.

Well & brief explanation for those who have a plan for future trip to Shanghai China .
