How to plan to tune almost any car/DIYAutoTune Megasquirt 3 overview

While building a turbo kit has its challenges, I've seen too many projects fail at the engine management portion. So in this video I wanted to go over a very good bang for buck, and how we plan to use a dual ecu setup to allow the Megasquirt control ignition and fuel and allowing the stock ecu to control everything else.
Keep in mind that this is more of an overview on how it works in theory, but every setup will vary.

Well at our shop, we've seen countless guys build their own turbo kits, or worse bought a turbo kit, without any tuning solutions, so we wanted to document how important it is to have a way to tune your car first before getting a turbo kit.
We choose the Megasquirt based on price and flexibility. We also chose it since a lot of other tuners won't tune it. So we wanted to showcase how wiring needs to go, and how the system actually works.

how does one one share the crank/ cam sensor? I was planning on trying it with 2 stock ecus on a motor swap, but got scared of frying the ecu's due to ignorance

Hey sorry, let me expand on that. I had to play with an in line resistor to get the crank to work, but I wasn't able to get cam working, regardless of what I used. Fortunately the van is a 36-1 on a 4 cylinder so it's ample already, just not vvt control

It's universal, so technically it will work. I know the trigger settings for the RB/VG Cas is in the decoder, but am unfamiliar with thr SOHC engine. Does it use a CAS or distributor?
