    I did my nails for the first time and they only lasted 4 days hence why I'm here. I see what I need to do next hehe thank you! Also, don't you need to apply sunscreen to protect yourself from UV light?

      Should actually be LED, UV is with Shellac only (in my training), so no UV with the LED lamps :) I am a professional, so my lamp switches between UV for Shellac and LED with Gellish; but I have used suncreen with the UV lamp, if that’s all you have, it’ll work (this is why shellac became unpopular, the need for UV lamps).

      Yep UV is dangerous, so I only work with brands that are completely cured with just LED lights. This is a very good reminder though!! 😄

      @@ImagesofJosephSmithJun. Led uv lights damages the skin too, it's the same actually so use sunscreen. I use Mani gloves

    Just a tip- you shouldn’t do a soak when you do gel nails :)

      Only way I have found to really get rid of the cuticle. Once I have a drill I might try to skip it, could be quicker 🤔

      Just curious, why is that? I have done some with and some without and haven’t noticed a difference. Thanks! 💖

    Wow they really last you a month! I’ve been using these products for a few months and sometimes I feel they peel pretty quick but it might be that I pick at them

      It’s all about the prep, mine were like that at first. Just takes practice 😊

      @@annalisagentile6406 I feel like the dehydrater/ph bond and filling a bit on all nail surfaces made the biggest difference for mine 💅🏻

    Is it normal for the nail to still feel wet when applying to top coat

    • @SarahW
      @SarahW  4 роки тому +4

      Hey Roxy. Yes, It will feel sticky in between layers. But you only have to remove the stickiness with the rubbing alcohol after the top coat. Hope that helps 😊

      Sorry to hear, did you wipe the excess with alcohol after? The first time I thought this since they were still sticky

    My nails chip .. do you know why?

    • @SarahW
      @SarahW  3 роки тому

      Gelish shouldn’t chip generally, it might lift/peel if not done well. But chipping, I would try switching products or making sure you have a quality top coat

      @@SarahW yes like it peeled so easily and I’m not sure if the product was legit lol I got it off some website and it peels within seconds

      @SarahW  3 роки тому

      @@beautyj1495 sorry to hear, that’s frustrating. I would suggest to invest in the gelish brand kit. Then even if you buy other colors from elsewhere you will have a solid base/topcoat that shouldn’t peel with the other color

    • @madisunwhite8713

      @@beautyj1495 I used to have the same problem! I started buffing the natural shine off my nails with a 180 grit buffer/file. This gives the gel a better surface to stick to. Then I swipe it with some gel nail cleanser to remove all the dust and oil. After that I go in with my base gel, color, then gel top coat. When I put the topcoat on I make sure to cap the free edge of my nail. I hope this helps 😆👍

    Is ph bond same as a Bade coat ?

    • @SarahW
      @SarahW  2 роки тому

      No they are different, having both helps the products bond to the nail bed

    • @9melissal
      @9melissal 2 роки тому +2

      Ph bond is a nail dehydrator. It is used so that the base coat adhears better. It isn't polish.

      They sell it at sally beauty. That's the only place I know of that you can buy it in person.
