This is why she is a professional... And it doesn't matter how many times she has to tell someone she can still hold that cool calm collected style within her... Yeah you don't want me as your teacher. Nope you don't want me as your teacher. 😶🌫️😆
Suzies the nail education queen! She has to be to super patient with her students. I appreciate this too though. As a former makeup educator for Sephora, there were often time when a question as asked about a skill that in my mind is super basic and it was often hard to find a way to explain it without sounding condescending too
I'd vote for this too! Absolutely ADORABLE! I have no idea how I found myself on this channel but she's so lovely ... like I could listen to her teach anything! And cameraman is a cutie too. What a good sport!
the tip about floating the nail polish onto the nail resulted in my first manicure without any bubbles ! i also found they dried way faster this way instead of putting pressure on the brush it’s so weird how one little technique tweak made a massive difference thanks !!
I LOVE to hear her laugh. They’re so adorable together. And I love the camera effect of not showing Camera Man’s face. All of their filming techniques are top notch. It’s very entertaining as well as the educational side. Love you guys!!
literally watched this ONCE and it majorly improved my nail painting skills, didn’t even have to use a clean up brush!!! totally impressed myself, thank you sm Suzie!
You are sooooo wholesome. I love how supportive you are with all the “that’s okay, we can fix it!” Vibes. That’s how I like teaching people(not nails cause I’m an amateur) too! This was a great video 😊
i love y’all so much. when he said “the best you’re gonna get” i felt seen lol it’s also very reassuring that you’re kind and gentle in the delivery of your critiques and advice. thanks for being there for us to learn!
The interactions between the two of you are SO SWEET. I love that he’s is putting in his honest best effort and you’re so supportive and encouraging. Made me smile
You are a good and patient teacher. As an observer, it was soooo painful to watch! hahaha (but it's a good reminder that the things we know without thinking are actually something we learned long ago). thanks for another great video. Rose
Teaching cameraman to do it is extremely helpful, and gives the opportunity to show common mistakes and fixes. It also acknowledges that the viewer will not magically pick up on the skills just from one watch.
I have struggled with painting my nails my whole life, and honestly, just tried this technique and it really made a huge difference! Thank you so much for putting these videos out there!!!
This is a terrific tutorial! And for those of us who have been doing our own nails, off and on, for 40 years. I'd watch my mom who would go around the polished nail with the thumbnail cleaning off the sides - and so I do my thumbs last. Nail polish I keep in the fridge and shake, shake, shake until I hear the ball bearing, after it warms up. Beautiful lighter colors and tints can be difficult to do, so those colors I get done at the salon. The best were the nail kits they sold during the very early '80s and putting them on when having to study all night for exams in college. They took three hours but were gorgeous when done right! Terrific tutorial! Thanks, Suzie 🥰
I always do my thumb nails last for this same reason and I leave my non dominant thumb for the very very end because I know I have a better chance of not messing that one up lol
You are fabulous!! I’ve been painting my own nails for 35+ years and never seen a tutorial like this that puts all the info in basic terms and makes it so much easier! Thank you!!! 💜💅🏼💜
So happy to have found your channel! You project such a kind and pleasant demeanor. I am 5 weeks into nail tech school, and my instructor unfortunately doesn't contain a quarter of the grace and patience you seem to have. Thank you for such detailed videos (and to your cameraman, too)! To add, what a serene space from which you create and work!
I seriously appreciate you doing so many nail polish videos. I don't do acrylics sadly, or polygel. But I do want to gave really pretty nails with polish and this, it's such a helpful tutorial for anyone's level. Cameraman will definitely get better as long he practices!!
I do my own nails in my Brazilian way, and I have never heard about cleaning the cuticle with brush soaked in remover! We wrap a bit of cotton around a stick tip, soak it in the remover and go around all the nails to make sure everything is clean, and the nails are completely polished. It might seem a lot of extra work, but it's worth it! Good video!
Rebeca Carbral, The reality is that what everything thinks is the "cuticle" is called the "proximal nail fold" and it is living skin that is there for a reason. When you push it back, you are causing trauma to that skin. Dermatologists consistently say it's one of the top ten things they would NEVER do. Save your self time, money, and pain. Leave that area alone.
No joke I started watching you when I was young and then I got my first uv lamp and gels when I was 10 and now 3 years later I’m doing acrylic thanks to you ❤
Suzie, you must be a mind reader! I was just hoping for a 'polish' nail tutorial.. as I been using gel so much, I had forgotten how best to apply polish!! Well done Cameraman... we love your enthusiasm to 'get it right'... my husband won't even come in the room, to talk to me, as "The Smells" he can't handle.... & he is a Veterinarian 🙄😄 so cuddos to you Cameraman 🙃💅
i’m in the same boat! doing gel extensions and gel polish and press ons made me forget basic skills. i’ve been neglecting my regular polishes and when i try a regular mani, i immediately wish i did gel instead 😂😭
I work with gel and it sort of self levels, but I have learned through you that with nail polish, a second coat really makes a difference. I have tried this technique out and it is so good. Thank you, being versatile is important, and I am just learning polish for little kid parties with manis and pedis. ❤♥
Great job cameral man!!! Nails are not for the faint of heart! I only do my own nails to keep my mind and my fine motor skills sharp....humbly, I say it gets harder as we age but it's so good for our brains.
This was the best thing to watch! I’m pregnant and my Ob said no more nail salon for now so I’ve been painting them at home and this helps so much I’ve actually gotten better and rarely paint my skin on my dominant hand now lol
@@doeeyedfaun4020 I have no idea all of my friends who are pregnant as well have different ob’s and they just said wait until your second trimester to do your nails and highlight your hair. Mine straight up was like nope not at all on both of those things lol
You guys are so fun!! I have loved watching these two videos! My hubby watched the first one with me and cracked up laughing. He would be the same as Cameraman. I did his cuticles once and he whined through the whole thing. He is an expert mountain biker, rock climber, and 5th degree black belt. I said, "Really? It hurts? I do this to 3 year old girls and they don't make a peep." Haha!!
Love how you have a beginner like myself try out the technique. I'm still practicing, but my nail game has definitely improved from 10% to 75% from this one video. Thank you for this!
Hello Suze and Camera Man!🤗 That is so helpful I struggle 😩 with nail polish 💅 but gel is so much easier. It's good to see someone that doesn't do nails doing nails. Thank you for sharing this God bless. 💖💖💖🤗
I’m so happy I found you. I’ve been searching for a basic but informative video. None of that typical blogger banter. Straight to the point while being entertaining at the same time. THANK YOU!
I'm AMAB (assigned male at birth) and never learned how to paint my nails. As an adult, I'm finally taking my appearance into my own hands. I'm getting better slowly. Thank you so much for this. I love your whole vibe. You're really fun and you addressed all of my concerns in one video Thank you so much for this
You’re one of the best teachers!! 🙏🏼 I love all your vids 🙏🏼💅 I had all of my nail products and even all my clear and neon colors of acrylics, clear nail tips, clear sticky jelly stampers, metal design nail plates for stamping everything you name it and all my nail tools, mail gemstones, color foils, beautiful ice blue gemstones, all of my collections of new nail polishes everything. Even my new dummy hands to practice and create new nail designs….. all my liquid solutions, acrylic powders, glues, brushes and it’s all gone. I struggled so hard to get it all built up for a bit over two years after we lost my children’s dad. It was hard. Then one day my three children and I go out to do shopping and come back all of my several boxes with all of my mail stuff and my children’s new school clothes and shoe were all stolen. I’m still extremely sad as the ones who did it were never caught. The schools helped us get new clothes and shoes for my children thank God. But my nail stuff was never recovered. It’s heartbreaking to know that there are people that never care enough to know a person’s hardships of sadness and struggles and then they take all you worked hard for. I was building up my nail supplies because I was going to do this nail tech training with a friend who told me about the program. But now, I can’t. But I do love watching your vids as you help me learn how to properly. I love making beautiful art with nails. Ever since my mom put little cool nail stickers on my fingers the day before my first day of school , kindergarten. I had instant girly friends that actually stayed friends to this day. We keep in touch when we can. My mom inspired me that day. My decals were little ice creams, popsicles, swirling lollipops, soda pop, hearts. I had only the clear polis and the decals on. To this day I tried finding them and no luck. My mom still loves nail decals. 🤍💕Thank you and God Bless all🙏🏼
Wow!😮 I'm sorry to hear your story😔 I hope you've decided to do the coure anyway?! If it's something you love, you'll build it all up again & a loyal clientele you should collect from practice?! My mum was never girlie girl with me but when I was in my teens I found nail polish & experimented! Like life, my nails have had their ups & downs🙃 been brittle, soft, long, short, polished & unpolished😊 I'm stil learning & love it💗😎 I wish you all the best in your nail journey & in life💟✌
Guys, you are so sweet!!! I have learned more from your kind and loving interaction than from the lesson itself (not that the lesson is useless, it's just me being more skilled in manicure than in interpersonal relationships). The hack with the polish remover and a clean fine synthetic brush is brilliant though! I had never seen it before! Another hack is to apply some Elmer's glue around the nail before the polish, paint the nail, then peel off the glue. It will work just like painters' or artistic tape.
Thank you so much for teaching me! Over the weekend I was trying to do my girlfriends and my stepdaughter's nails but it kept coming out lumpy and by watching this video I was pressing way too hard instead I started using the fan technique to apply the polish and it definitely turns out smoother instead of lumpy and clumped up!! ❤👏🏽🥰
I'm a grandmother amd I have daughter in laws and little girls .so I bought a beginners kid to do nails amd bond with them . This is a great video to learn the basic I am 50 and properly learning how to apply polish ...wow ..I never knew ..thank you 😊
I've recently gotten into nail coloring as a renewed hobby. (high school days I had a small phase and did some out there colors lol) Now, it's more focused on self care and enjoying having pretty cute nails to match the season and my mood. Thank you for this video, I've always had a rough idea on how to paint nails cuz I used to watercolor and I do draw, but seeing a professional do it, explain it, and demo a beginner's POV is wonderfully educational! :)
Susie, do you think you could do a video on how to shape already professionally done acrilic nails to the shape of your short nails. I love getting my nails done, but when I have a ton of typing for school your length is more ideal. Thanks! I just love your soothing videos and you are an excellent teacher 😊
She did one during the Covid lockdowns on how to manage your nails while they grow out and your salon is closed. There was a lot of reshaping and taking down for that one and it might help even though yours aren’t technically outgrown.
I have somewhat of an unusual nail shape with long nail beds and an incredibly sharp c curve, especially on my pinky. I actually call it the cat claw. I have trouble getting enough polish on the sides, so this demo has really helped. Thanks Susie and Cameraman!
2003 December 2nd. I am due in to have a cesarean on the 5th. I asked my husband would you please paint my toes. He's like, sure I can do this. Having my surgery. Some of the nurses chuckle. Did your husband paint your toenails? Yes. I'm giggling. He tried to clean them up but he turned my toes pink. So I had pink toes with red toenails. Yes indeed. Of course they put on my comfy socks for me and they said we'll just cover those up for you. 🤣
I really love theses videos with camera man🥰I wish I could convince my husband to try this, although he tried to polish my toenails when I was pregnant and he did a real mess!
I clicked on the thumbnail because I thought your face looked kind and patient. My first instincts were proved true as you not only demonstrated as professional the technique you wanted to teach us, but you also had a novice demonstrate and show the dos and donts. Great job cameraman! And thank you for this video. New subscriber 🎉
Thank you for making this, I got my first bottle of polish + top coat and messed up horribly first time (got polish all over my hands) but then this popped into my recommendations and gave me my confidence back, cause I saw, mistakes like I was making being made, and it didn't look effortlessly easy, so thank you and camera man
This is soo amazingly endearing and educational to look at. We can see from small things that he does pay attention to what she does when he is behind the camera. Job well done Sir Camera Guy :)
I'm gonna be honest this I didn't really need for the technique as much as for the mental exercise of just watching the mess ups and trying to not get stressed out because of my perfectionism 😅 love your way of teaching ❣️❣️
I just did my first gel polish application and even though I said out loud “don’t hit the cuticle” I hit the cuticle :( Absolutely adore your relationship with Camera Man and the video was so funny!
This was pretty interesting. I swear that whenever I try to paint my nails I end up with more polish on my skin than my nails! I’ve been getting acrylics at a salon lately, but if I go bare nails again I’ll have to try these tips and paint my nails. Very helpful!
Love seeing cameraman learning! The second round, his technique seemed much better, but the product was on the top side of the brush instead of the underside when he removed half, and that let the product slide off the top.
I’ve been a professional nail technician for 15 years….I am a “shaker” with my polish too! LOL I’ve shaken for years….. never had an issue either! Although I’m wondering if polish quality makes the difference… I mainly only use OPI and I love hearing those beads go to work!! Thanks for your videos
I never had someone teach me how to do the girly stuff, like makeup or nail and skin care. Now that im on youtube, im so self conscious about my skin and nails. I never thought id be so thankful for a youtube video about nail polish, but im grateful that this channel exists.
This is a nice technique, to start from the middle. I need to try that. I just think nail wipes are better though, at removing excess mess, much easier for beginners too. Great job teaching this!❤🌸💅🏽
I love how you teach 🙌 you explain everything so well and I've been watching your videos for a while and I've learny so much! Thank you for sharing your skills 🙏💗
I have truly learned so much from your videos and I really enjoy when you do these! I’m not a professional but have been doing my own nails for a while and it’s so easy to get stuck in my ways which aren’t always correct
I find it the most simple way is what I learned in manicuring school three strokes one from the top of the cuticle down the center and then you start your left stroke to the tip then you're right stroke from the cuticle down to the tip looks more better than you know not getting up from the cuticle down. Looks neater that's the method that I use but everybody has a choice I know what looks good and works well 🥰🎊💯‼️📽️🤔🎉🎂😇✨🐯
I love how you can teach such basic skills without sounding condescending. I love that. I am awful at nail polish and this really helps. ❤️
This is why she is a professional... And it doesn't matter how many times she has to tell someone she can still hold that cool calm collected style within her... Yeah you don't want me as your teacher. Nope you don't want me as your teacher. 😶🌫️😆
I think she's just actually a really nice person and it shows. Unless u just have a certain a personality u can sound harsh when they don't mean to
Omg yes I am terrible at polish as well so happy for this video!!
Suzies the nail education queen! She has to be to super patient with her students. I appreciate this too though. As a former makeup educator for Sephora, there were often time when a question as asked about a skill that in my mind is super basic and it was often hard to find a way to explain it without sounding condescending too
I totally appreciate that quality of Suzie too! I don’t have that kind of patience, even for myself. 😭
I love when you include Cameraman! You should make this a series of teaching Cameraman the basics! Let's see how good he can get ❤️
Yes!! I LOVE this idea!
I'd vote for this too! Absolutely ADORABLE! I have no idea how I found myself on this channel but she's so lovely ... like I could listen to her teach anything! And cameraman is a cutie too. What a good sport!
It would be awesome if Cameraman ended up being a nail pro! I'm loving this!
lol, I thought she was saying Cameron.
the tip about floating the nail polish onto the nail resulted in my first manicure without any bubbles ! i also found they dried way faster this way instead of putting pressure on the brush it’s so weird how one little technique tweak made a massive difference thanks !!

You are a good and patient teacher. As an observer, it was soooo painful to watch! hahaha (but it's a good reminder that the things we know without thinking are actually something we learned long ago). thanks for another great video. Rose
Same here! This was painful to watch but I've been painting my nails for 25 years!
This is me trying to paint my own nails!!! Love that you two make it fun to learn the right way.
Teaching cameraman to do it is extremely helpful, and gives the opportunity to show common mistakes and fixes. It also acknowledges that the viewer will not magically pick up on the skills just from one watch.
I appreciate the sacrifice that cameraman makes to show us what it's like for someone who's never done nails before.
I have struggled with painting my nails my whole life, and honestly, just tried this technique and it really made a huge difference! Thank you so much for putting these videos out there!!!
You have such a calming voice and cadence. Very beginner friendly.
This is a terrific tutorial! And for those of us who have been doing our own nails, off and on, for 40 years. I'd watch my mom who would go around the polished nail with the thumbnail
cleaning off the sides - and so I do my thumbs last.

This was hilariously fun to watch. Even as someone who's applied nail polish for decades at home, I still learned some new stuff.
He is so committed! He did really well even at clean up. Good for him.
OMG you are both so patient. I was screaming STOP when it started to get gloopy the first time. He did a good job after trying over again!
God bless Camera Man. I love watching him try. I feel like he did a good job 👏🏾 👍🏾for someone who doesn't do nails.
So happy to have found your channel! You project such a kind and pleasant demeanor. I do my own nails in my Brazilian way, and I have never heard about cleaning the cuticle with brush soaked in remover! How does cosmology have anything to do with nails? I guess if you wanna look good for the job that makes sense
I just started nail school and I feel like cameraman everyday! Love you Suzie!!
My fav Susie 💖 It’s always so relaxing and calming watching you 💕
I really love theses videos with camera man🥰I wish I could convince my husband to try this, although he tried to polish my toenails when I was pregnant and he did a real mess!
Brilliant! Best tutorial ever, and I’ve been looking for what seems like forever for a really good one. This is a great one.
Thank you for making this, I got my first bottle of polish + top coat and messed up horribly first time (got polish all over my hands) but then this popped into my recommendations and gave me my confidence back, cause I saw, mistakes like I was making being made, and it didn't look effortlessly easy, so thank you and camera man
beautiful set and a perfect professional presentation
brilliant
Thank you for all your advice Mrs Suzie and way to go Mr Camera Man. Practice Suzie says.
This is soo amazingly endearing and educational to look at. We can see from small things that he does pay attention to what she does when he is behind the camera. Job well done Sir Camera Guy :)
Go cameraman! You did really well ! My manicures used to be just as messy when I first started doing them!
I'm gonna be honest this I didn't really need for the technique as much as for the mental exercise of just watching the mess ups and trying to not get stressed out because of my perfectionism 😅 love your way of teaching ❣️❣️
I really need to practice more with my application of gel polish and nail polish.
We all do - it’s on going. You’re not alone 💛
I just did my first gel polish application and even though I said out loud “don’t hit the cuticle”
I hit the cuticle :(
Absolutely adore your relationship with Camera Man and the video was so funny!
I really enjoy doing my nails. I find it calming and almost zen like 😉
This was pretty interesting. I swear that whenever I try to paint my nails I end up with more polish on my skin than my nails! I’ve been getting acrylics at a salon lately, but if I go bare nails again I’ll have to try these tips and paint my nails. Very helpful!
I love your voice, your technique and expecially your kindness and honesty! thank you
I can't get enough of you two ...
I love how kind you are with each other, I learnt a lot with this video ❤❤❤❤
it was making me sooo anxious every time you were like "LEAVE IT" and he kept going back in😭🤣🤣 you're a patient teacher haha
🤦♀️ I'm 30 I finally learned how to polish my nails. Thanks for doing what my mother and my family didn't have time to do.
I love the video! like you say much fun to watch. susie its adorable to see how he is trying to focus so much😘
like your voice. you and your cameraman are so adorable❤
Omg!!! Y’all are the cutest couple, ever!!! I just love y’all so much! Good job, Cameraman! You’re a brave man!!!
I just love him lol So adorable to see him painting your nails 💅 🤣 you two are so awesome!! God Bless you both and all your beautiful family 🙏🏼
Love seeing cameraman learning! The second round, his technique seemed much better, but the product was on the top side of the brush instead of the underside when he removed half, and that let the product slide off the top.
I’ve been a professional nail technician for 15 years….I am a “shaker” with my polish too! LOL
I’ve shaken for years….. never had an issue either! Although I’m wondering if polish quality makes the difference… I mainly only use OPI and I love hearing those beads go to work!!
Thanks for your videos
I loved this video!! You are a wonderful teacher!
I never had someone teach me how to do the girly stuff, like makeup or nail and skin care. Now that im on youtube, im so self conscious about my skin and nails. I never thought id be so thankful for a youtube video about nail polish, but im grateful that this channel exists.
I just started learning how to do nails. And your videos are the best, seriously. They help me so much! Its like having my own teacher with me!
Shes so kind. I cant wait to get better at painting my nails
I think is one of my favorites! I love the interaction with cameraman!
Great instructions. You’re a wonderful teacher. Thank you.
On my way to purchase OPI expert touch lacquer remover now! Thanks for the lovely tutorial ❤
I'm learning how to paint my own nails, and wow, the style and the explanations are really cool! This is really a science 😅
who would know how HELPFUL this would be!!! THANK YOU!!!
Would love to see a review of dip powders and you teaching the techniques for doing dip powders😊
I love it that’s what I been doing flooding my nails out
It’s ok it’s a common mistake and easy to make
I luv this opi color!!! Can you tell me the name? Also what brand polish remover brushes are those? Thank you so much.
I find it the most simple way is what I learned in manicuring school three strokes one from the top of the cuticle down the center and then you start your left stroke to the tip then you're right stroke from the cuticle down to the tip looks more better than you know not getting up from the cuticle down. Looks neater that's the method that I use but everybody has a choice I know what looks good and works well 🥰🎊💯‼️📽️🤔🎉🎂😇✨🐯
I love this because my teenager is still learning, and your video shows that you can get great results even if you're not a pro 🙌
