I have been on a ketogenic diet for six months. My A1C starting was 8.2 and 6 months later it is 4.9. My cholesterol levels are very good and my hdl went up 10 points to 47, still not optimal but getting there. I love this way of eating and I am seeing great results. I have lost 65 pounds in 6 months.
Congratulations Lisa! So happy for you! I’ve been on for 6 weeks and have not lost any weight. It’s ok I know it will take some time to reverse TD2 and insulin resistance.
Large sack of sugar! Ha! That’s what fruit made me. But with your advice I’m down @100 lbs and my blood sugar is normal! Thanks and keep up the advice.

When I was diagnosed type 2 5 yrs ago, was surprised my dietician said eat as much eggs, bacon and red meat I wanted. For years we heard these foods were bad. Avoiding carbs (esp sugar products) eating right, snacking on nuts, losing 10 lbs, and daily exercise dropped my A1c from 12 to 5.6 in 3 months with NO insulin.
@@JorgeTran-tk7tv Bacon is filled with saturated fat. My cardiologist said I cannot have it, so I avoid bacon like the plague. It will eventually cause artery disease. I also do not eat red meat due to the cancer possibility. Nuts are very healthy for snacking. Since I don’t eat bacon or red meat, I lean towards fish and poultry.
7 fruits to eat in limitation to avoid blood sugar spikes: bananas, grapes/raisins, cherries, papayas, pineapples, any melons, and peaches. Thank you, Dr. Berry! 🤗
I eat bananas, grapes, cherries and watermelon. I don't have them every day but I also eat them in moderation and they have never spiked my blood sugar.
I'm not on a ketogenic diet, but I have reduced my carbs to a negligible level. I am typeII diabetic. I brought my A1C down from 6.8 to 6.3. My other things like cholesterol have gone way down. I used to eat a banana every day but have not eaten one for several months, nor any other fruit. I still miss the bananas, though! Lol My diabetes, according to the VA, is caused by exposure to agent orange.
I know how she feels. As I was eating a bowl of grapes when I click play . and yes I sure did finish that bowl of grapes. as I watched this video. Houston we have a problem, and it's a really big problem...
I still love fruit after being on keto for over a year. I stick to berries, avocados, cucumbers and olives. If your wife likes berries and nuts and seeds, I came up with a cereal early on to satisfy my cereal cravings. It's 1/4 cup berry of choice, 1/4 cup of a nut of choice (peanuts, almonds pecan, etc), 1/4 cup of either salted sunflower seeds or shelled pumpkin seeds. Melt 1 tbsp of butter or coconut oil and pour it over the berry and nuts and seeds. Then add 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk. Sometimes I'll add a little Stevia for sweetness but not all the time. It is really good! Sometimes, if I have ebough carbs left, I'll add some 100% peanut butter (1tbsp). I love Smucker's it's just peanuts and salt. And it's so yummy! I don't have this every day. But it makes a good breakfast or dessert and it's surprisingly very filling for such a tiny amount. I actually prefer that over storebought cereal now because it fills me up for long periods of time. And I get a little fruit in it.
Glad that I saw this because I eat bananas once a week. My A1C was 9 and my average blood glucose levels were 233...just had updated blood work A1C 6.3 and average blood sugar levels were 133. I'm trying 🙏🏾
YummiCandi Collection Keep up the good work! You are saving your kidneys, your vision, etc by getting a handle on your a1c! I speak from experience as a diabetic myself who's mother lost her vision to uncontrolled diabetes. Peace to you from NY!🕊🌹
That is hard for a lot of people. They have spent a lifetime learning that "natural sugar" is healthier. It is hard to convince some one that it's essentially a sugar cube.
Wow! This hasn’t been my experience at all. I’m almost 60 and retired 2 years ago. A year and a half ago, I was diagnosed with diabetes with an A1c of 8.0. I was horrified! At the urging of a friend, I read Dr Joel Fuhrman’s book “Eat to Live”. This convinced me how I needed to change my diet from Oreos and Pepsi, to fruits and vegetables. Hating vegetables, I gravitated to more fruits than vegetables. Bananas, grapes, mandarin oranges, pears, and peaches, are my main fruit supply. Broccoli, kale, and beans are my main non-fruits. Since making the switch, my A1c has dropped to 5.2 and stayed there, and my weight dropped 100 pounds from 280 to 180. My total cholesterol is right around 100. I am stronger now than ever in my life, I have a 6-pack now (first time ever), and I’ve been able to discontinue all 5 of my daily medications. I do no routine exercise or strength training - just work hard out in the yard and with DIY projects in the house. I’m not taking any meds now on a daily basis. I feel absolutely great!! I respect what you say, but my personal experience has been the opposite. I’m not sure what to make of your message.
That's awesome. For type 2 diabetis, losing weight is the best way to reverse it. You can do that with carbs or no carbs. The way you're eating is the healthiest no doubt. Keto works too, but it's not nearly as healthy as the way you eat. I started on keto, my a1c dropped tremendously, but other blood markers got worse. I started to adjust and ended up with a diet that is still lower in carbs around 60 to 80 grams per day all coming from blueberries, strawberries, pomegranate, potatoes and the carbs in yogurt, nuts and veggies. I switched to lean cuts of meats, but i then add monosaturated fats to it. My health is better, aic is still good, i can workout harder and recover faster. Perhaps, who knows, later on I may move to something like what you're doing.
Mark Fenbers I have followed similar sort of diet and my results were the same. Improved all the bad numbers drastically and I ate a ton of fruit. Covid blues threw a wrench into my motivation to eat the best diet but am working my way back. I think it's the total dietary picture that matters most. I didn't eat meat or dairy and stayed away from oils to get great blood work results. Refined stuff was avoided as much as I could.
@@Regina-j4z Yup! Sure does spike! Our bodies need sugar for energy, but fruits have fructose whereas Pepsi and Oreos have sucrose. Both are sugars, but the body processes them differently when eaten with the fruit fiber that contains them.
Actually strawberries are sweeter than raspberries. As a person fighting Candida, my body tells me when I've eaten sugar and the only berries that don't make my body react are raspberries. Strawberries, Blueberries and Blackberries are all sweeter than Raspberries.
Yet how many people will only eat them in season once a year? I have wild strawberries on my property and they're no bigger than a pea and are slightly tart. Same with raspberries and wild grapes,; very small and not nearly as sweet as those sold in stores (but 10x more flavorful). I'll taste a few once a year, but that's it. My body doesn't like that sugar overload from modern fruit at all any more...to each his own, though.
I wound up in a nursing home for four weeks, I have type 2 diabetes. I knew the food there was really bad, but I liked it. I also knew there would be a price to pay. I had been off Metformin for years because I cook my own meals and control sugar and starches (starches are my downfall). I'm now back on Metformin, the month I ate unhealthy food caused a major relapse of diabetes. I don't eat fruits or drink fruit juices.
I live in Hawaii and enjoy banana, papaya and pineapple fruit salad often, sometimes from my own garden. But I notice I crash after I eat this, so now I'm trying to cut back.

thank you Dr. Berry! Always sound advice. I also appreciate that you yourself were prediabetic. I have found the best docs have cured themselves in some important way. Soooooo.... Given your name I assume blueberries, raspberries and blackberries are OK:)) Berry Berry goood...
I was always told that naturally occurring sugar have components that slow down how quickly the body processes the sugar to prevent spiking, while processed sugar doesn't.
Surely the sugar levels in bananas depend on when you actually eat the banana if you leave it to go black then the sugar content is astoundingly high. I am a diabetic and I eat bananas maybe two or three times a month when they are just turning yellow from green. As for no nutrients in bananas they contain Potassium which helps lower blood pressure they also have magnesium and vitamins C and B6, it's disingenuous to state they have no nutritional value. That being said there are more foods out there of course that can provide the same if not more benefits than bananas.
lol...yeah, the 'grilled pineapple' got to me for a few seconds, then I had to snap out of it. I can have a small piece on my birthday if I really want to ;)
Thanks for the video Doc. Six out of the seven is what grows in the Caribbean, and we all used these fruits, but hearing it from a Doctor stand point bring awareness, because sometime we in the Caribbean partake of fruits by the abundance, we hv a lot of them in our yards; including mangoes of all kind, but thanks again appreciate the time u took to enlighten people of the damage. I really learned a lot with the health tips u provide👍i will share with my family and friends. May God richly blessed u in all u do.💕
Caribbean lady, I know you speak dialects of English on the islands, and that educational standards vary there. But you really need to spend some time understanding English spelling and grammar. Your comment is riddled with mistakes and senseless abbreviations.
It would be super helpful if you actually mentioned these "alternate sources" for every fruit that has been checked out!! Berries are relatively low in sugar but not all the parts of the world have blue/rasp/black berries and avocados ☹️how do ppl get their antioxidants and vitamins from natural sources?
I tend to disagree with this! I am a fruit lover and in moderation is GOOD!! DOESN'T AFFECT MY SUGARS!!!! BANANAs do not raise my sugars!!! Everyone's system is different!!!! Different people react differently. By switching over to snacking on fruits my A1C is down to 6.6!!! Watermelon is mostly WATER!! I really disagree with this guy!!!!!!
Honestly I think this guy is just fad diet recommender. For me, he being an advocate of ketogenic diet is sufficient enough reason to indicate that he is short sighted in terms of the benefits. The best diet, based on evidences from history, is one that is time tested, and has indicated healthy lifestyle- the one that excludes excessive meat consumption, processed food etc. An ideal diet, as recommended by several nutritionists on national level, recommend good portions of carbohydrates, fruits and Vegetables. Not to mention, the amount of benefit of a reasonably carbohydrate heavy vegan and vegetarian diet is huge. Besides, such a lifestyle is not even remotely sustainable, and hence and short term benefits will be rolled back as soon as one stops it.
I’ve been thinking about this for awhile. Thank you so much for getting the message out there that sugar is sugar is sugar!! You are a straight shooter and it is so important for people to realize this!
You guys contradict each other like crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get different suggestions from various doctors and most vary dramatically!!!!!!!!!!!! What you are saying is do not eat fruit.
I don't have diabetes, but you said there's way better options to some of the fruits you mentioned. Maybe a quick list at the end would have been nice :)
I've heard the same from a few Drs. on the net, where it was said that they were full of fibre, but also the caution to be conservative about the amount. It was suggested to limit the berries to one handful, or 100 g max. This was in the low carb days. I'm Keto now, and wondering if that much even, would knock me out of ketosis, hmmmmm.......
@@afringedweller well it is berry season coming up here in France. i am not diabetic aand not an ounce over-weight and I am going to enjoy them in season while I can. (I grow raspberries, strawberries , gooseberries and redcurrants.) I have cut down trash carbs like grain but I will be enjoying these home-grown treats as much as possible for the short time they last. I don't buy them in season. Low carb to me is a desirable state but not a full-on religion.
I thought I was eating healthy! Oats for breakfast, bananas, grapes and cherries during the day. I found out from "Beat Diabetes" that every one of these were SPIKING my blood sugar! I tested myself before eating a banana and it was around 145...an hour after it was over 260!!
That's a great philosophy as long as a person's body hasn't been metabolically damaged by too many carbs, vegetable seed oils and a wide range of processed carbage. Also, there's no room for moderation if a person has ever been addicted to anything like sugar, alcohol or drugs. How nice that they lived such long lives for their sake and your family's :)
I've been a type 1 diabetic since age 26 and followed carefully, the recommendations of my PCP. When knowledge of carbohydrate counting to be used to calculate fast acting insulin dosages became known, I have been doing that. Currently, I use a Continuous Glucose Moniter (CGM) which allows me to avoid Highs and especially the low blood glucose levels regardless of what I eat. I still am occasionally above or slightly below my suggested blood glucose range, but I haven't had a serious deviation for a long time. BTW I'm 80 years old and my last A1c was 6.4 so I've been doing the right thing concerning type 1 diabetes, which is far easier to deal with than type 2 which my brother had. He has passed from this life 20 years ago.
Dr. Berry, perhaps it would be worthwhile to distinguish between type 1 and type 2 diabetes. My youngest daughter is currently studying for her postgraduate degree , having obtained her PhD in Nutrition and dietetics in Australia. Her current work at Harvard University in the US totally contradicts your 'story' ! Perhaps you should update your 20year outdated ideas !
@Manner Hall I've overcome my sugar cravings with the help of keto and intermittent fasting. When I get a sweet tooth now I use stevia or monkfruit...works great.
I had been taking at least 2 bananas a day, and my HBa1c level is around =/< 6, consistently for several years now. As a matter of fact except 3 other fruits I almost take all the other fruits once or twice every week. Further certainly certain things are individualistic, and so can not be generalised, is my humble view. I am not a Dr., but what I say is based on my on experience with my very own body, and test datas. I am very confident on my statement, because the values were not identical on the the per person who also almost took same diet, fruits and exercise for month on month and the tests too were taken almost on the same time.
@@mandograssableAS FOR MY LIVE EXAMPLES I HAVE CLOSELY WATCHED AND TAKEN CARE FEW. 80+ years old and 74 years old with diabetic history for more than 30+ years with both tables and insulin injections but regularly consuming range of fruits and Yeah another 64 years old diabetic with very strict diet and timely activities spent almost 60% of his post Diapetic days in treatment for one issue or the other. Never even seen the sweets and fruits that were not recommended. Being a wealthy guy took fresh greens and colourful vegetables in measuring cups just as recommended in those days. So it’s better to understand our own system functioning, and take action when our body gives signal, and never blindly follow some one’s recommendations. After all such recommendations are given not only for our health but it also includes their own interest.
im in Malaysia and most tropical fruits are high in sugar but also there are many that are suitable for diabetes. I was told we can moderate our portion. Papaya is my fav while pineapple is only on occasion. I have totally avoided banana and durian as advised by my doctor ( my boyfriend haha)
Strawberries take care of my cravings for fruit right now but I’ve been eating too many as evidenced by my most recent fasting insulin level. It’s within normal limits but 4 points higher than my last result 4 months ago when I was very judicious with berries. No other diet changes. A1C didn’t change. Just a heads up everyone!!!
To those who are in a inflammatory state, restrict your fruit intake for a time but not forever. Meat, because it is low to nearly non existent fiber, you need to avoid completely.
He said these are the seven worst. That does not mean the others are ok. Which would rather be shot with a 45 or a 22? Neither are good for you but the 45 is going to do more damage.
Sorry but I do not believe this at all. I eat bananas EVERY day. Without any blood sugar issues. I have been a diabetic for 20 years and I came off multiple pills and down to one a day in morning and evening after changing my diet to fruit, vegatable and meat with very little carbs. But I still have my carbs modestly. My A1c also dropped by a healthy number. The only fruit that actually raises my sugar to an unhealthy number is applesauce (non added sugar) I take multiple vitamins daily on top of my diet and my numbers have been between 6.2 to 7.4 depending (when I actually ate applesauce. I Stopped applesauce and my blood sugar A1c is at approximately 6.4 to 6.9. So, eating fruit is not the issue, eating CERTAIN types of fruit can be. Just learn your body and sugar spikes and know what it is causing them.
I stopped all fruits 2 years ago, I only eat (occasionally) berries like Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries. Blueberries are the best with a salad :)
Ya I eat blueberries with my shredded wheat cereal with silk almond unsweetened milk for breakfast. I try to avoid any high sugar fruit; but the fructose isn't as bad as table sugar. I also quit Coke/Pepsi NO SUGAR (cause the color and phosphate in it isn't good I was told...scared me... so I just drink SParkling water with Country Time Lemonade (with sucrolose)... Other doctors say blueberries are fine for diabetics.... I also eat orange for desert after dinner... not too sweet navel oranges. My A1c was 11.0 *January* but now brought it down to A1c 5.8-6.2 (but also take gluberide and metformin daily)... have a semi-keto diet.
TG I don't really like any of these! Never been a big fruit person, but I have added oranges (whole fruit only - no juices!) back into my diet = 1 orange AFTER eating any kind of beef, which seems to nip kidney stones in the bud & help with digestion (i.e. no constipation). Funny but this routine hails back to my childhood diet WHEN I WAS SKINNY! We ate a lot of beef, real dairy (butter, cheese, etc.) & always had apples & oranges on hand - of which I always preferred oranges. My body knew what to do, even if I didn't.
Agree with all of them - including bananas and pineapples, sadly. Watermelon/melon and mangoes are two of the worst for sugar content. Curious to note that amongst the best fruits for diabetics are the berries - strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries.
And the last four are on the totally boring list of fruits. Did anyone pay attention to a doctor of natural medicine from India. His research showed that the blood sugar meters that we use cannot differentiate between the different types of sugars that enter our bodies namely glucose and fructose and would give the same bad reading if a diabetic was to consume too much of either one of them. A blood glucose meter is a machine but our body isn't meaning to say that fruits and the fructose we consume are perfectly alright for a diabetic to consume as the Indian gentleman doctor proved after following through to see if there were any complications that the diabetics on a fruit, vegetable and meat diet faced in the short term and also a long term of five years!
The rind of watermelon (or other types of melon) isn't very high in sugars. They can be blended in with other beverages that have insufficient fiber content in order to add fiber to slow down the entry of the glucose into the blood.
@@joeydusanjh9874 fructose is glucose after is digested hence why some people feel bad with these fruits and yeah the body won’t tell the difference too as you mentioned as sugar is sugar as long as it spike is going the same way down the kidneys and liver!! Indians doctors follow science but a real doctor follows life experience on things!!
I respectfully disagree. Eating high protein(meat) high fat(animal fat, refined vegetable oils) and carbs(refined foods) are the foods to avoid. Eat real food. No pkged (so called foods) stay away from fast foods, eat fruit, vegetables, seeds, nuts(sparingly) beans, grains, legumes period in moderate proportions, period.
I remember the ONE time that a doctor ever talked to me about nutrition was when he was retiring. He was new to me and I wish that I had his wisdom longer. Although this doesn’t pertain to things like cherries, grapes and peaches, he mentioned to stay away from any fruit that you have to peel to get at, as they were the most sugary, i.e. bananas, mangos, pineapple, etc. 🍌🥭🍍💃🏻🕺🏽
The peel of the banana is edible, it can be used to add needed fiber to a smoothie. Keeping cut pieces of banana peels frozen allow them to be available for when they are needed.
Sorry but I was a diabetic for ten years because of my diet. No control with Metformin and later injection still weighed 350 with A1C of 15. I now am plant based lost 150lbs and eat fruit every single day at least once. My favorites are all your fruits you mentioned. I have an A1C of 4.5 just saying there other factors involved here not least of which is lifestyle. If you are a fat blob like I was and sit on your ass all day then ANYTHING you put into your body is noting but bad for you.
I guess everyone is different. I had a very good friend who was a diabetic (type II). He ate fruit nearly every day of his life. Bananas, peaches, watermelon, and grapes were his favorites. He even drank wine and beer (not heavily). Never smoked. He lived to be 82 with the disease. Never had heart or circulation problems. From what I have seen (just from my own personal observations, I am not a medical professional) diabetes always seems to be worse in the people who are heavy drinkers and heavy tobacco users.
As a type 2 diabetic, I have noted the sugar rush with fruits and berries. However, I would suggest moderation vs absence. Know the limi5 of what your body can handle safely at any one time.
As a former playschool teacher, we had one child that was type 1. We had to keep diet coke and banana's around for when his blood sugar levels dropped. Also learned that even if the child showed symptoms of having low blood sugar to double check with a blood test before giving him anything. Been a few occasions despite the symptoms, he actually was way too high. And also found out at one point why he kept spiking. Not because of food. But playdoe! He had a tendancy to lick his fingers after playing with the stuff, before he went and washed his hands. It was the Salt causing the issue. After we banned him from playing with the stuff, he didn't spike as much. Eventually when he got older (a year or so later), under supervision we let him play with the stuff and made sure the moment he was done, that we had him wash his hands.
Yeah. Diet Coke has no carbs so how would that spike sugar. Also how does salt spike sugar? I’m a type 1 diabetic for 46 years and never heard of that. Bananas will definitely spoke it. That’s my go-to fruit for lows.

Newly diagnosed diabetic type 2. My Dietician told me I could have bananas. I had one this morning and it spiked my sugar way up. Never again. I'm grateful I came across you're channel today. Thank you so much!
You should only eat a small one and when it is half ripe. ripe bananas are too sweet. I am allergic to fruit sugars. they give me stomach cramps but with hypertension I need to eat bananas even though I am diabetic.
Every so-called diabetes expert give you list of what to eat and what not to. They have done a very limited study on a very small aspect. So, none of these advices are really true for everyone. Eat what grows in your area, eat seasonal fruits in moderation on right time and sequence. Thats all.
Thanks Dr. Ken guess I'm going to have to modify my diet again. Sadly I was raised on local fruits and veggies growing up down in Orlando. My dad was in the citrus business so we ate & drank our fair share of Oranges/juice/Tangerines/ Grapefruit off the trees in our backyard as well as the drinks he brought home. We ate Watermelon as a treat in the Summer time and spit the seeds off our front porch on Saturdays after doing landscaping. Seems everything my parents gave us was wrong for us.
@Leslie Gibbons I am continuing to search for and spread the truth. I have been in the best of health since using nutrition to cure my cancer 43 years ago. Thank you. I hope you are well.
@Leslie Gibbons Most people end up having major health problems when they try keto long term. There is absolutely nothing wrong with carbs as long as they come from whole foods and are not refined. All the longest living and healthiest people on Earth do eat a moderate to high carb diet.
@Leslie Gibbons I have 43 years research into therapeutic nutrition. And even even more into athletic nutrition. So. Yes. I have done very extensive research and studies. I have been unable to find any carb related health problems unless the carbs are refined. In fact i have seen where people have increased there calories from carbs and reversed carb issues simply be switching from refined carbs to only unrefined carbs.

Dr. Berry, I’ve been type 2 diabetic for a little over 10 years and have never had my diabetes under control. I take Metformin and Glipizide daily. Is it possible for me to REALLY reverse this disease? I’ve been doing Ketovore for a month today. I had my A1C of 12.4 reduced to 9.4 on my March 10th A1C lab report. I’ve lost 10 pounds. I want more than anything to see that A1C normalize.
If you want to reverse type 2 diabetes, look in how to reduce insulin resistance and increase insulin sensitivity. Type 2 diabetes is a fancy word for high insulin resistance and your fasting blood sugar can't come down.
Thank you, doctor for this information and for being kind and not taking us to another site to explain what you said. Now, a favor: Can you tell us which fruits we can have without any bad effects? Thank you again and best to you.
There are other ways of getting the same nutrients in other foods. The fruits that are mostly considered vegetables are best.. Avocado..olives. What is needed is reflection on your relationship with food.
Anything high in antioxidants. Pomegranate for one. Also I believe this advice should mainly apply to diets with over 15% fat, as super low fat diets greatly reduce the resistance to sugar. Pomegranates are my main fruit of choice, which have actually been shown to lower blood sugar. I notice the difference when I use that fruit for low glucose, as I'm more likely to have a second instance shortly following.
If the world had more people like you, it would be a better place. You make a difference, Dr Igudia thank you for curing my type 2 Diabetes and introducing your medical products to the worlds.

I used to eat a banana every day but have not eaten one for several months, nor any other fruit.
I still miss the bananas, though! Lol
My diabetes, according to the VA, is caused by exposure to agent orange.
I showed this video to my wife. These are quite literally the only fruits she likes, and she growled at each one getting mentioned.
I did some growling too. I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches. I also love pineapple and canteloupe. I don't eat fruit every day though.

Houston we have a problem, and it's a really big problem...
Its only an issue if you eat too much of them or you have diabetes or candida. Otherwise eat them every once and a while to satisfy your craving.
Pretty much naming all the common fruits being sold in supermarkets.

Bless you bro you did real good. Hope your quality of life reflects that.
Going from Oreos and Pepsi to fruits is definitely going to be less sugar but I definitely feel a sugar spike when I eat most fruits
@@Regina-j4z Yup! Sure does spike! Our bodies need sugar for energy, but fruits have fructose whereas Pepsi and Oreos have sucrose. Both are sugars, but the body processes them differently when eaten with the fruit fiber that contains them.
Berries are the safest, strawberries lowest in sugar.
@@rogerhickson7256 That's probably true... and raspberries are more bitter than strawberries and blueberries.

Thank you. What about prunes
The rind of watermelon (or other types of melon) isn't very high in sugars. They can be blended in with other beverages that have insufficient fiber content in order to add fiber to slow down the entry of the glucose into the blood.

Woot first comment thank you Dr Berry for all your information

I am continuing to search for and spread the truth. I have been in the best of health since using nutrition to cure my cancer 43 years ago.
Thank you.
I hope you are well.
@Leslie Gibbons
Most people end up having major health problems when they try keto long term.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with carbs as long as they come from whole foods and are not refined.
All the longest living and healthiest people on Earth do eat a moderate to high carb diet.
@Leslie Gibbons
I have 43 years research into therapeutic nutrition.
What's the point of your living if you cannot eat these wonderful fruits? Better to die than give up these fruits.
I was recently told in Dec 2021 I am pre diabetic.i have had the hardest time getting on low carb/keto but this Monday I attempted that process.i have been listening to your
Podcasts and I really really appreciate your honesty and truthfulness about everything to do with our health!! If I lived where you practiced i would want you to be my physician.i am thankful I can watch these to get my lifestyle in line with what is best for me.i don't ever want to be diabetic!!
All i can say is thank goodness i like green granny smith apples and like you say all the ones you mentioned are occasional treats.
The good Dr is afraid of fruit. 🤣 do don’t look now but there’s an apple behind you.
Luckily I don’t have a carving for fruits. Oh wait except for avocados 🥑
When you get a carving, please use a very sharp knife.
Nope. Stopped listening to this BS and no longer have diabetes eating whatever fruit I want. Have lost 70 pounds. Any “doctor” who promos keto is no doctor. Had to lose my gallbladder and have a liver biopsy to wake up. Now I eat all fruit, pasta, bread, and rice. It was anima protein I had to get rid of. Doctors need patients , though. 56 years old now and on 0 medication. At 49!had diabetes, fatty liver, eczema, high blood pressure.
Yes keto causes diabetes and insulin resistance. Too much fat.
What does a horror movie look like to the Dr. Just footage of the produce section at the grocery store. 🤣
why are you liying
I think ya left out the kingpin - most consumed - mango
Thank you, doctor for this information and for being kind and not taking us to another site to explain what you said. Now, a favor: Can you tell us which fruits we can have without any bad effects? Thank you again and best to you.
Confusing! Some doctors said ok but eat in moderation and not regularly.
I will miss peaches but I hate how carbs make me feel.
What I understand before that fruits contains fibers with fructose and its should be ok and we need avoid all other sugars .
Ok From Hawaii and now officially pissed off at you.
😂😂😂
NONSENSE. All these fruits are good in moderation
As usual, Dr. Ken offers words to the wise.
Joe Zullo Except that it was all completely wrong.

Give the Fruit the boot !!
Dr Gundry favor frase !!!
Tks for sharing…
How about the top 10 Safe and most nutritional fruits?
There are other ways of getting the same nutrients in other foods. The fruits that are mostly considered vegetables are best.. Avocado..olives. What is needed is reflection on your relationship with food.
@@dana102083 Not what was asked.
I don't think you can find 10 fruits that are low enough in sugar to be considered safe.
@@armadillotoe That is true. Only berries are lower in sugar.
One mad man says use these fruits and another mad man says dont 😂😂😂
If the world had more people like you, it would be a better place. You make a difference, Dr Igudia thank you for curing my type 2 Diabetes and introducing your medical products to the worlds.
His name is Dr. Ken Berry
