People don’t hate learning, in fact your brain loves learning, it’s just school is a place that kills the love to learn, the teachers and the curriculum are/is can be very boring and or frustrating. There need to be more people like the people at Vsause that teach the next generation.
Depends. I quite frequently find school as interesting depending on the subject. Maybe it's because I've met interesting teachers or because I grew up being inquisitive but some topics discussed in school actually piques my interest.
People asked what my favorite subject was each year of highschool. It depended on the teacher teaching it. My sophomore year I had a great teacher. Entertaining, understandable, reasonable, kind and respectful. Just a down to earth lady. Then the next year my least favorite subject was math because the teacher was stubborn, boring and didn’t really care about her students

Brandon Barhydt no you wouldn't have. The thing about VSauce is that Michael has freedom in what he discusses. If he was a teacher he would have to follow the curriculum which means he would go over the exact same things you already go through so you'd have the same feelings towards school.
but he has freedom in how he teaches it, how he relates it to the students, and what analogies to make, did you watch the video? one of his major points was about making the subject appeal to the viewer. "the trick to education is to teach in such a way that people only find out they're learning when its too late." Micheal should be the head of the US department of education.
By going to school. I have all A's and always get 95 or above in tests without studying. And I can remember everything I've been taught, or almost everything.
+Jerry Xue If you are the average citizen, then the majority of the topics you learn in school will be forgotten; cast aside and left unused, as they are not required in your day to day activities. Consequently, mulling over that chart of words or that history textbook with the sole purpose of passing the test and then forgetting the information is what I consider studying. Learning however, is a completely different subject. Learning is discovering things you thought were impossible, actually enjoying the information you are receiving. Just like Michael said, I believe that despite what topic you hate the most, if you learn more about it, you will find things about it you enjoy, while simultaneously gathering information about the topic. He's a polymath I think. He also is clearly gifted in abstract and paradoxical thinking. People who are gifted in abstract and paradoxical thinking have high levels of what you might call super imagination. Ability to blend existing concepts and objects into something new, this can also be useful for problem solving. Like taking an object and connecting it to a unrelated idea based on a train of thought, just based on details of the object.Creating a new idea. They're not looking at the object, but what makes the object up and how it exists within space and time, how it will exist in the past and future. How it relates to seemingly unrelated objects and the bigger picture. what it's like on the smallest of details. Those details will take you to a new insight almost completely void of relationship to the starting point. what is inside the object and how it could be interacting with invisible forces. ect. Think of micheal Feraday or even Einstein. Research suggests people with these abilities have more connections between both sides of their right and left brain, but also a higher volume of grey matter. Not sure about his IQ, maybe 118 ? This video made it astonishingly clear how good of an orator Michael is. He knows how to speak with voice modulation, and talks at just the right speed so you can hear the stress being put on important words. He makes eye contact, makes the audience laugh but doesn't have to awkwardly cut in either. Even if he steers off-topic, he always remembers that he has to bring it back. Michael is pretty much my goal when it comes to public speaking now.
If you watch V-Sauce and often times wondered why he doesn't explains in the first part of the question in the main title, it's because he tackle some of the phenomenon or ideas that actually is a prerequisites for the explanation of such paradoxical/absurd question. so not only he can answer the question, also us can derive a certain answer regarding that question.
This is such an interesting speech and to hear Michael's wavelength and thought process doesn't just make you wonder and interested in of itself but it's also clear he's passionate about his hobby his craft and it really gets you involved with what he's talking about even if you would perceive the idea that you wouldn't enjoy the topic Michael as he says in the video hooks you in with great points reasoning and cool little insights into people's psyches and experiences

globalfreaking Do you even know what clickbait is? A title that has nothing to do with the video to call your attention, really just search on Wikipedia what it is. I agree the title is interesting but he talks about the stuff in the video so it's not considered clickbait.
I like how this regular ted talk slowly turns into a vsauce video.
ikr and isn't it crazy to think that he was just 27 yrs old when doing that ted talk

Yeah, But with that introspection, you Are pretty good at reading your own behavement
alZiiHardstylez hmmm... cold and wet fries probably don't equate to your actual genius.
The reason I don’t engage with the content in my own country because it’s all about nonsense entertainment and don’t really go in depth or have that curiousity attitude. This is what I want to do and bring myself into, learning while also having a meaningful and open-minded experience. I hope I could meet people like this in the future.

This is one of the best TED Talks I have ever seen tbh.
Wow me too
Yes
He’s probably the epitome of public speaking.
I hope someday…
