Randy, great video! How I wish your battery hadn’t gone dead. I would have loved to seen the remainder of the removal from that angle. Oh my - your B&W photos! So meaningful and beautiful! Poignant. A way of life … some gone and done. I enjoyed them very much from seeing Mississippi.
I always remember learning to spell Mississippi. M-I-crooked letter, crooked letter-I, crooked letter, crooked letter I, humpback, humpback-I. My mother taught me that in the early 60’s.
Anyway, the pelicans fishing and the various scenery was also very, very nice. But the B&W’s …. Mmmm-mmmm-mmm. Something else. Very touching.

Haven’t seen a cotton field since ideas a kid! Spent every summer at my great uncle’s house picking cotton and strawberries. Lots of memories when I saw your pic of one .

Congrads on the viral video! I watched it when it 1st camenout, very impressive hive. Must have been so uncomfortable position for so long!

Tex Cobb was a super tough fighter. His life story is pretty interesting.

Question...the nucs at the beginning are on end, then you stack them on the truck flat. Doesnt that really mess with whats in any comb in there?

Great question that I was waiting for someone to ask. As we are preparing to load we stand the ones on end that are going. The dozen or so that didn’t make the cut are left flat. We usually place a stick or pine cone on top of the ones that need more time or are queenless. These nucs are extremely strong and the frames are propolized and waxed in place pretty well so temporarily standing them on end doesn’t bother them and it makes it easier to grab two at a time to carry to the truck. Saves your back after carrying 120 nucs around.

Wish You Tube would make some algorithm changes if a new video is what keeps you from posting more. AI Is not choosing correctly what I want watch lately, in fact it's limiting me so much I'm starting to get a little mad. Great photography at the end, you have a great knack for catching interesting views of the area. It reminds me of what my area looked like a lot when I was growing up in the 70's.
UA-cam is always messing with something. What applies now wont make any difference in six months.

I don't own a hive but I do attend to a friend's bees I so badly want my own lol there 1 in a 30 foot tree bin there for years never touched it 😂
Set up some swarm traps in the spring. You'll have your own before you know it.

I had to assume that opening shot was from gathering up bees from after a large commercial truck had come thru the area. Thought I saw Dad in there some too, that reminded me of better times.
Those were nucleus colonies we raised. The old man was Howard Kerr from TN.

Why stand the Nuks on their side for loading, i presume they had bees inside ?
Makes them easy to grab and the frames are stuck pretty good with wax and propolis so they aren't flopping around.
You need a battery pack for your recording. I have one and it's great, but if you drain it don't a fast refil like your device.
Funny how your chilly day would be absolutely balmy here!
I do need to order a battery stick.

I would like to tell you if you make a paste out of baking soda and water, just wet enough to stay on but not run off, it will take out all of the pain and swelling. It works on honey bees and yellow jackets and probably most other bees.I watch your channel a lot. Thanks for making these videos.

Was doing an inspection for a friend and al the bees where fine until I got into the brood box. Then they just went nuts :)
