LOL. I got a good laugh out of the cigarette story. "This is Mississippi, people smoke when they're gas'n up." Yep, I literally have watched a coworker change a fuel filter while smoking (gasoline too, not diesel). But the time he threw the butt in the trashcan, it caught on fire... Also had to laugh on the bud light !!

Varoa has just been found in the South of Australia about a week ago. Government is implementing initiatives but we will see. We've managed any fire ants found so fingers crossed we can be as successful with varoa.
That was a lot of Bees for how tiny the hive looked crammed into that space. I find it totally fascinating how different honey tastes depending on what is in flower. I was watching Mr Ed's live last week when he was talking about this too. I hope your finger is doing ok. My eldest has just recovered from having hit his ring finger, and didn't realise until it started bleeding through his glove just how much damage he'd done. He went to the hospital to find he'd shattered the bone into three pieces. You take care 💚
yep different nectar sources makes different flavours of honey. There really isn't a 100% certainty when it comes to exact flavours given that bees forage on different flowers and what the honey will be flavour wise unless you are certain that flower was the only thing the bees where foraging on at the time of harvest. Also flovours can vary country to country i.e. USA has goldenrod, Mastic and privet but here in Australia I can get tea tree which makes a thick dark honey, thats a pain to harvest (yes its the same plant family as Manuka honey), Iron bark, red gum etc. And then you get Europe, Oceania and asain with their own flavours of honey
The Spartanburg Beekeepers T Shirt has calming effects on the bees. Now you know why that hive was very gentle. May need to wear it more often. Great video as usual and talk to you soon. 😊

Gentle bees, thanks to your videos, Ive been learning. I just got home from dropping off a double deep 8 frame to a friend. She had us get it from a trailer on the ridge. Very nice guy. About 60 pounds of honey. In the frames. We left a nuc with 5 frames of comb for the stragglers to go to. Planning on a few days to bring it back and add them with the rest. In another deep. They came out qnd covered frount of box it was at dark, and about 85 degrees. I'm thinhing they were hot from being closed up in box for 1/2 hour ride. Hope they stay and make it. Going to check on them in a few days.
I'm sure it's nice to get a real calm hive now and then instead of all the stings. And my mouth was watering watching yall sample that "good" honey. Thanks for sharing the experience.
I caught a swarm and looking around I found where they come from I told the lady I would come I would come back in 3 weeks and get them new queen time to get bread . I went back and got them. The swarm was the comas as I ever seen the mother hive it was like regular bees
