  • When we're in emotional mind, we tend to be black and white or extreme in our emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. These B&W modes can be adaptive in certain circumstances, but in many situations, it can be helpful to be in a more moderate "gray zone." The MIDDLE Cs skill gives us several tips on how to move from B&W to being gray, flexible, and dialectical so we have more adaptive options.

    I wasn't sure about watching this because I worry I'm not using all the DBT skills and more seemed a lot. I am glad I finally did (put it in a list to wait until I was in the right space) I believe what I've been working on for a while now is figuring out those grays that would serve me better then the black and white I fell into in my youth. So next therapy session I'll be asking about Middle Cs. Thank you

    Great Video, going to extremes and impulsivity have always been an issue for me . I would like to get a look at this workbook as well .
