Excellent video, its been hard for me to achieve validating others opinions and beliefs but this video helps me understand the value of it , and as well accept the way others view life .Thank you
Not only that but it explains why bonding with others over shared traumas is different from the day to day slice of life stuff I often struggle to appreciate and enjoy.
I think they’re just about the same thing and there’s significant overlap. I found one thing online that said: Empathy is the ability to share the feelings of another person. This means not only physically placing yourself in their shoes but fully embracing and working to understand the experience while in those shoes. Validation is the act of recognizing that the way someone feels is valid, or reasonable. But if you get the main idea of the skill and do the best you can, the result will hoped be positive regardless of the term you use. 😊
Hello Dr. May. I just found your channel and thank you! I'm liking your content so far, but is there any way you can improve your video quality of yourself?
Thanks for watching… as for the video quality… I’m not sure why it’s a problem because when I do Zoom calls for other things, it’s clear but when I do the zoom videos for this, it’s blurry. So it’s probably a setting I can’t find. If you have any suggestions, let me know!
👍 great job thanks for putting this out there 😊
Thank you 🙏

I'm so excited to watch this video. I'm glad you made this video. What is the difference between validating and showing empathy?
