These videos aren’t bullying. These are awareness. They’re manipulating invisible illnesses for clout (even if some of them do have it). To me…. When it comes to mental health awareness giving people clout….. There should be a level of how much clout you want verses how much good you want to do…. If that level of good isn’t remotely close to the level of clout…. You probably don’t deserve the clout, which means you’re damaging the stigma of people who are sick. It’s not okay.
Invisible illnesses are not super powers. Invisible illnesses are not trends. Invisible illnesses are not fun. We’re suffering. Every. Day. And then some people are just out here making it look like it’s just some game we’re playing… It makes us look worse than some of us already do- cause let’s just face it, it’s not pretty being sick. You can make it look good for a while, but the facade always falls.
I appreciate you, Ablaze. As someone who was bullied for a majority of my life, I don’t see these videos as that- and I (regrettably) can be one to call people on that prematurely when the paranoia kicks in. Thank you for your good intentions and reminding people that there are people suffering out there behind all the smoke and mirrors.

Social anxiety is a nightmare and It's like you're scared to be judge for everything you do. Not to mention I got depression and all of this just destroyed me mentally.
I'm a bit better these days but I'm scared that something will happen to me, my heart has became fragile and scared that is gonna explode.
When I saw all these people who fakes autism, It really hurts me because they treat this like it was a trend. THIS IS SOMETHING SERIOUS THAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE TO DEAL!

usually here in America when you buy a bicycle the police often recommend taking a picture of the ID code on the bottom of the bike under the bottom bracket that holds the crankset. once the police have that they take picture of your bike so it's documented and if it ever gets stolen and they recover it they can call you and either drop it off or you pick it up at the police station.

I worked in management for roughly 20 years. It was like that until my auto-immune disease got to the point, that my doctors said if I continued work, I would work myself into an early grave, that I left working. Even now I find things to keep myself occupied. I have ran the PR dept in our local club. Again, my health forced me to step down. Now I'm just at home, crafting LOL!! I’ve got BPD; it’s similar to autism (just developed differently), and I’m just barely well-functioning enough to do all these things I’m supposed to…. But at the expense of my well-being for the most part, and since I can make it look like I’m normal, people don’t believe me when I have a “sick-moment.” It’s honestly frustrating… But that just means I’m a good actress I guess…. I find as a insult as stuff like ADHD or autism is quite hard to have and cope with stuff like emotions and people should help them. not farm from it, I am not autistic but I am on the spectrum but I do not want to disclose it as of people like this might try something as I know like 30 people with the same thing that got bullied. so help people with it please.

Yet this dude can hold a job, but felt the urge to fake autism for more money. It’s so disgusting. Seeing people fake a disorder I never wanted and still try to accept having makes me so mad and upset. It’s not a quirky add on. I’ve been picked by adults all my life for not being normal. 300 bucks for a bike sounds reasonable IF it was a super heavy duty high end bike or electric. If you’re really hard up and need one like I did check the thrift stores lol they have em for 25 or less, or Facebook marketplace. I just heard 300 for a bike and said “abbbsolutely outrageous” and I’m not looking forward to hearing the rest of his schemes either. I have two sons with adhd and one of them is autistic as well. He’s only 8 but I watch him struggle to relate to the world and make sense of it just like I did as a kid (I’m not diagnosed was never tested and I just recognize the emotions and behaviors in my son) and it hurts my heart and I do my absolute best every day with help from my mom to give him the tools and confidence he needs to get through life ❤

I don't understand people like this. I went through all of my school years wondering why I was different. Why I struggled with social settings. Why keeping or making friends was hard. Why I didn't understand jokes or why was it so easy for me to fall for the same tricks over and over again. I didn't even know or think I was autistic until I got diagnosed at 21 by a nueropsychologist after a head injury at work and had to find a therapy regimen to get back to somewhat normal.
I still don't see it at times (I've done therapy since to help with this). It's not fun.
The only good thing that came from my diagnosis was finding out why I had such bad sensory issues and learning how to calm myself down safely and to not feel stupid all the time.
I only recently told my fto (I do security) that I was autistic and he was like "Yeah I know. You exactly like my wife" which is kinda funny not gonna lie.
But I just don't understand people who fake anything at all. It's so confusing to me.
If yall want a funny thing to cheer yourselves up though. My fiancé's thought for 3 YEARS!! 3!! That I was just hiding my autism from him. Like sir you knew? For three years you never mentioned it?

He’d have to sit and even wait for a cop to show up, if they ever do, and once they take a report not much will be done at all. Atleast not in my area. I’m not saying that it was ok to try and get sympathy online from a bike being stolen. It’s just that in the US, the police put a bike on the low priority list. So it can take months for them to start looking for the bike in the first place. Unless the bike was in used value of about $1k or more. If it was worth that much used, then they’d start the investigation way sooner or if luckily a typical priced bike seemed to be stolen by someone or people that have stolen a lot of bikes/stuff. So most people don’t call about a stolen bicycle. If the person is super lucky, then maybe in about 6 months they’ll get their bike back destroyed. We don’t even know if he had a bike that was stolen or even had a bike at all. I’m just saying how it works in the US with the police.

I feel like when I start seeing people like that asking for a donation or accepting donations it's a red flag. When you actually have autism and you need help like benefits and stuff you have access to that. Personally I have access to benefits because of mental disabilities and autism. And because of certain things I can't even accept donations or anything. It's complicated. So for those who actually can't even work because they struggle so much we can't make money online depending on what benefits you receive. I'm sure some can like some can work but there's some like me who can't accept money. But also I don't need money. I see that as such a red flag and I can't stand these people who fake something that has made my life hell. And this guy plays it up so much I instantly notice it's a act. Big question is why don't people ever show the bad parts you know. Like the actual struggles, meltdowns and stuff? If that's how someone tries to spread awareness that's the way you do it. The spreading awareness should be just that. Not begging or asking or anything. Just showing the true reality. It honestly hurts that people will go to this level and do this. Like said it's hard dealing with autism. There are a lot of struggles. I'm not wanting a pity party or sympathy I just want people to be aware of the truth. But that's another big issue with social media is that people control what other people see and what they want them to. Most people online only show the good parts of life. And when you're talking about disabilities and stuff that can paint an entirely different picture from reality.
I won't mind whenever I can get into assisted living. 28 but already in the process for me going to assisted living for special needs and I won't miss this stuff. The world's just depressing and overwhelming so I'll be glad getting cut off from all this stuff. Is people like this that influence spreading stigma that make life even more difficult for people like us because the more and more time goes by the less people actually take anything seriously. I had someone tell me "ow you have autism that's cool and cute" like wtf? How is that cool or cute.
I'm so tired of the world and people like this who fake things for money and attention. I miss when social media wasn't big and lies spread like fires. You can't believe anything anymore online. Videos like this that make me not even want to go outside. I hardly get out anyways but it's stuff like this that makes me just not even want to interact with the outside world. Just better to be closed off and stay in my comfort zone.

In his 'apology' he should have refunded the donations, or gave them to a real charity. Instead he acted like it was something that 'happened' to him, rather than something he willingly did and could have stopped at any time, and then acted like he could just continue making videos like nothing happened and that people would want to watch. Classic sociopath.

i wasnt diagnosed with autism till my mom suspect that i have since my brother and i both got similarities, we are also deaf with top it all, i find learning very hard and mostly unbothered about subject but actually do care about it, i need support leaning on to something since new topic or learning is very very hard (im also dyslexic), my mom suspect that i have high functioning autism which one of my friend has, playful behaviour isnt that common, my brother shows it but mostly he get stressed or moody, someday he be happy and start running around the room, i dont like socialising at all since it make me feel weird, plus add moderate deafness make it 10x more worst since i dont know what they are saying and i get very mad about it even i could say can you repeat it, it just make me pissed off for no reason at all since it maybe important, this video is sad that people can just get away from faking it, trust me even though having autism have some perks it has downfalls.

As someone that's been diagnosed with high functioning autism this just makes me really mad because even having high functioning autism can seriously mess with your academic ability Like sure I'm fine when it comes to any social environment but you sit me in a classroom with multiplication table or you tell me to use proper grammar and spelling or even to write a thesis I'm not going to be able to tell you anything about it and I'm in college for crying out loud so I really don't know why you would want to fake autism as it can severely mess with your life even if you have it on the lighter end like me.

Hey! Diagnosed DID patient here, I think Ablaze makes a good point about how people with neurodivergence and disorders can still continue to do tasks that everyone can. It kind of hints at a "if there's a will, there's a way" type of philosophy that I can personally relate to.

No all of us can. I am lucky that I have the skill sets and less support needs then my 3 children who are also Autistic. My oldest one will need people who he can trust and love him to support him because he has significantly higher support needs and he is still so innocent and can’t tell when people might have bad intentions and I am so scared of who will love and protect him when I am gone. His two little brothers are much younger and with all of my babies I will still fight to give them every tool I can so they can have beautiful futures. It’s hard to admit but we are a naive bunch. I have been hardened a bit by experiences that I wish on no one. It is important to be supportive but also be mindful that it doesn’t turn into pressure. You have to celebrate their accomplishments without making them feel like they have to accomplish something because someone else did.

TBH, it is a part of the cops job to attend to crime, and bike theft IS a crime. In some cities, there are whole gangs who steal expensive bikes, so yeah, calling the cops isn’t a bad idea.
