I always watch these videos thinking.... How Heck Are They Gonna Do That.... then I remember you have an Oscar. The engineering that dude has is freaking amazing. (AND YOU ALL ARE AN AMAZING TEAM)
This is an Oscar appreciation post. This guy works his ass off and does a kick ass job. Some people with his skills think they can go and start their own thing. But my dude is humble and loyal. The living legend!
When are you getting Oscar a plasma cutting fab table. Poor lad deserves one for all the incredible fab work he does. Imagine what he could do with one of those at his disposal.
Wow. Blown away at how great the front end looks. And now that you've got the back fabrication mostly done, this thing should come together pretty quick! Great work!
@@macbook802 Not sure why you think that. Chris has shown the drawings of what he planned for the inside of the back. And for the most part, Chris finishes the builds he starts. The exceptions were "Lenora" (stolen by lawsuit) and we haven't seen the boat finished. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now... but so far, it looks promising.
Hi guys. Buy a spoter machine and pull out hat door line in metal. Fiberglass filler will start to crack if he is tick. In 6 months, it will be catastrophic.
One thing that always worries me about front-end rebuilds is crash protection. The front of the truck is designed to collapse a certain way to protect passengers, and any other cars involved. I've done a front-end swap before, and luckily we were able to keep all the stock parts, to maintain the original crumple zones. I hope it never comes to this, but something to think about. Stay safe out there, and amazing work on blending the new and old body lines!
in this instance, the bow that oscar put in those forward facing pipes will flex out like a crumple zone. the frame itself still retains it's factory crumple zones, they just sectioned on another bit of OEM frame there. in a front on collision, im betting it will react not too different from a factory dodge nose. it would be cool to do stuff like that and crash test them tho, to see how different it actually is
@@nathanielscholtens2812 no tube fronts are two strong for a street vehicle because in a race application there meant to deflect the car off the wall at high speeds normal car front ends aren't so it's just a hazard

Wow, what a great lesson in how to adapt hood, fenders and bumper to a new vehicle. This is a tutorial for all those doing conversion work. Well done Oscar.
What you guys need to do is build your flares for the front and have it all boxy like you guys did for the camper side to have it all blending look bad ass
I'd love a version of these videos - where the guy that thinks he's the main character is edited out and it's just Oscar doing all the fabrication work - doesn't even need to be time-lapsed.
Might just be me, but I wish I didn't see the end product at the beginning of the episode. I love watching the whole thing play out and showing at the end. Love how you guys tied that fender into the doors.
Looks good, so glad to see you went with a newer front end and ditched that hideous “cross hair” grill they put in about 90% of the cars/trucks they build. Going to look epic once finished.
This video once again showcased how awesome Oscar is. You must get him some sort of water jet or CNC cutting machine for his birthday! Less time cutting out and more time making Awesome!
I have got one question Since this camper van is heavier than the original and extra supports were added which stiffened the car overall, doesn’t that make the car more dangerous during a crash as it has a smaller crumple zone with larger momentum. Just wanted to know how you would address this.
First to also praise your work, it's really coming along and as many have said before me Oscar is a fantastic fabricator! Regarding recommendations for Fender Flares - Fab Fours or something similar would look very good with the angular nature of the habitat.
Wild... I love it... and here I was looking forward to what you are doing INSIDE the camper... curious about power system, whether you'll use solar panels... whether you'll be able to get an A/C powered from the solar panels (a few have done it)... and then just how cool you are going to make it look. Trent & Allie just sold their first Mountain Made Van.... These projects are SO COOL. Thanks for sharing this.
Great video. Very nice work. I may have missed a recent video -- how is the new workshop coming along? I looked like it needed a lot of work when you first showed it in a video.
Shout out to Oscar for doing a great job! Lmao only suggestion I would have is, instead of drilling and tapping everything, to do nutserts. Only because they can be easily removed and replaced if ever necessary. Yall are doing a fantastic job on this camper though. The thing is NUTS!
I’ve watched all the videos for this build and been so impressed ! However I’m so disappointed that you didn’t build a custom front to pull in the rear styling into a more cohesive design !
