"Blue line" in Poland a long time ago was an information line of "Polish Telecom", it was a line that an ordinary mortal could not call because it was always busy and the machine kept repeating "Please wait". Yalta, the place of the third meeting of the Allies with Stalin, where Poland was given to Russia. For this reason the Russians sang "I will take you in Yalta".
And that song title refers to famous disco Polish song "Będę brał cię w aucie" (I will take you in auto (car)), which rhymes with "Będę brał cię w Jałcie" (I will take you in Yalta".
The joke with Yalta is about the song, that part of which should be "w aucie" (in the car), but instead russians substituted it with "w Jałcie" (in Yalta) which for polish speaker sounds very similar. The song itself is a bit of a cult one, mainly because Piotr Fronczewski, an actor who sang that part. Although Fronczewski actually has some history with parody, and even recorded some very popular disco parody songs in the past (which became unintended hits at the discos...), a lot of people often associate him with serious and mature roles. He simply has that natural vibe of an older (even when he was young :P), intelligent, classy person, which kind of creates a dissonance with rather earthly, streetwise, and a bit of gangsta lyrics.
Original lyrics say "bede bral cie w aucie" which means I will take you in a car", here they changed "aucie" into "Yaucie", these two rhyme, but that is not the reason they did it, Yalta is where the allies agreed on postwar "reality" of Poland, where communists were included in our government etc.
Watching this material because it's a cabaret about heaven reminded me of a Polish film group with great humor called G.F Darwin. They presented the creation of heaven and the world in a very cool way. The material is called "C.H.A.O.S. - czyli początek wszystkiego! [Shorty Darwina #10]" and has subtitles available in English. I would love to see the reactions of someone outside the borders of Poland reacting to this.
So you know Dratewka, but you don’t have any idea about Yalta? I think something went wrong with the research. On the other hand, I’m not surprised that this piece of information is missing in UK’s and US info bubble. One can say that Churchill and Roosevelt has sold Poland to Russians despite the fact we were promised a sovereign country. It’s like the biggest issue between Poles and Western World. You can still find ppl in PL hating you for that. Not without a reason.
