From the history of World War II, one of the most interesting stories is that of Krystyna Skarbek, an SOE and SIS agent. Winston Churchill said that she was his favorite intelligence agent. Her story is worthy of a Hollowod film, apparently she was the prototype of Vesper Lynd, the only woman whom James Bond fell in love with. There are also those who claim that she was the prototype of Bond himself. A unique character who ended tragically.
Few things that our engineers came up with have been omitted. Metal/mine detector, submarine detection radar improved. tank persiscope, bomb deflector, multichanel radio and more. Probably intentionally erased from our achievements, cause of the war, we gave to alies these inventions without patenting them.
Hi Rob, the bit where they refer to the ‘black devils’ probably refers to the first armoured division of General Maczek. Took part in the September campaign, fought in France and then the D Day landings where they acted as the cork on the Falaise pocket to strike a heavy blow to the Germans. Then liberated areas in Holland and made their way into Germany. Can let you know more if you want as visited the battle ground which saw one of the first battles of WW2 after Westerplatte.
Today Poland is stronger than in 1939. Many NATO allies will let us down, but maybe not all of them. If we are attacked, we will defend ourselves, as we always do.
Under every reaction to this video I am writing the same comment and only few listen to it. I hope you do Rob. Please watch "Trying Times: the Unconquered" and "Game for Independence". Two other videos on the same channel, that give more perspective and timeline of interwar period. With love

You are not guilty. We all can change everything now. Resistance again Russia and the war is happening now. We have to stand united. Cheers! Merry Christmas!
You are of course right about legal responsibility. Only the one who committed the specific crime is to blame. However, there is also moral and political responsibility, which unfortunately also weighs on future generations. Until the moment of full accounting for all crimes or admitting that the one who does nothing to punish the guilty is in fact an accessory to the criminal, because he allows him to avoid responsibility. Historical memory and responsibility extends over many generations. If history has taught us nothing, we will make the same mistakes.
I am Polish and I am proud that Polish blood flows in my veins. Our history is long and painful. But proud at the same time. We cannot change history, but we can still build the future. No one blames today's generations for the mistakes of past policies. But facts are facts from which everyone should draw conclusions today. Putin seems to have forgotten about it because he continues in a circle of suffering and blood. Thank you for your attention and best regards!

This sadly is just politics in a nutshell. A father is beating his daughter, 4 people gathered around debate on if it would be worth it to step in, or would it cause their financial treaties with the father (Borrowing five bucks) to be nulled. Eventually, they all decide that they will be sending food and their best wishes to the daughter while she's in the hospital

As Poles, we do not hold personal grudges against people, especially those who were not yet born at that time. It is a grudge against you as a country and historically. No one today holds a grudge against you or anyone else just in general we remember that such a fact was and despite your promises your country did not keep them when we needed help the most, you did not give it. In the veins of the people who live with you now flows the blood of the people who once left us for dead, but despite this, no one holds a grudge against those who were not there at that time because that would be downright stupid. We have not forgotten what happened by remembering the sacrifices we made, but we remember it only as a historical feature and as a past that we will get rid of, and even if you would like us not to talk about it anymore, unfortunately for you we are not able to forget it. This does not mean, however, that we have any hatred for you and especially for you now, for the new generations. Everyone has a clean slate, his card, and how we view him depends on how he writes it down.
Nice vid. Reflecting on what you've said about GB and the rest of Western Europe screwing Poland over after WWII: we were in alliance with them before Germans attacked. GB and France were obliged to help in such case. They didn't. They left us in the very beginning of WWII, perceiving us as lost cause. You know what happened during and after WWII. The 303 Squad not being acknowledged, the pact in Jalta giving Poland to Stalin, etc. Now, the resentment towards UK and EU that we observe nowadays is very much us experiencing dejavu - the Ukraine situation! Ukraine gave up their post-USSR nuclear arsenal in exchange for Western Europe guarantee for its protection from Russia and keeping Russia in check. And look what happened! Since the first Russian attack on Ukraine (Crimea) Poland is screaming it's lungs out warning about Russia's plans. Only when Russia fully invaded Ukr the West seemed to finally get what we were talking about all this time. Still not fully undestood, though. We can see how UK, France, Germany and the rest are screwing UKR over now. We can recognise this scheme - we've lived through the "friends" turning blind eye on us just to not offend Russians. So... screw you (metaphorically). And watch this space, our time has come and we are getting ready to take back our rightful position in Europe and the world. Side note: check Radoslaw Sikorski's UN council speeches if you want to have a vague idea of what the real Polish politicians can bring to the table 😉. Keep up your Polish researches and please please please check up the story of Pilecki - you might think it's made up, but nope! All true. Enjoy 😊
7:00 there is a trans generational trauma. Shame can be part of it. I think there is an audience which can resonate with this, including shame for own ancestors, for what they have done to other people. This is the wound to be healed, this is the lesson to be learned. This is pain to be felt. And there is also forgiveness to be free man .

Rob, unfortunately history likes to repeat itself. The biggest mistake someone can make is to forget and not taking lessons from the history. To give sth to think about: look at Ukraine and deals they had.
