@ThroughJermainesLens Hello there, just here for a quick doubt, regarding the Xiaomi 14. Had you been facing any fogging issue ? I was planning to get this model, but was really concerned with the fogging issues that has been reported by many online. Also is that issue temporary or comes again, is there a permanent solution if so? Your reply would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.
That I can understand ^^ for me the reason I would pick the 13 pro is the size, and the bit less sharpening ^^ everything else the 14 basically. But that telephoto is one of my favorite soooo...
I think they are close enough. One thing that I feel is disappointing about Xiaomi though is they tend to give fewer camera updates than other Chinese brands like Vivo and OPPO. For example, the dynamic range issue on the ultrawide. The Xiaomi 13 pro and Xiaomi 14 are using the same ultrawide sensor. They could improve the dynamic range on the Xiaomi 13 pro with a software update if they wanted but they don't often upgrade the cameras in their old models with new improved processing or features in their new models once the new models are released.
Camera updates, I can see that yes, I haven't seen many updates, but it isn't always about the numbers of updates of course :D But the dynamic range, yeah they could and should have worked on that more on the 13 pro, agreed!

nice shots and video, i wish you'd made some close-up shots with the main camera though, i'm really wondering if the smaller sensor with the wider f1.6 aperture can keep up with background blur of the 1"/f1.9 of the 13 pro. anyway, very good video, thanks!
Thanks for the great comparison! I probably would've gone with the 13 Pro if it didn't have a curved display, a pet peeve of mine, but I'm also very happy with the Xiaomi 14. I really appreciate the small form factor and how lightweight it is. 13 Pro would probably win in low light scenarios. I'm sorry that you've lost your files 😩
No problem!! And thank you!!! And I can get that, for me I don't mind curved displays at all haha. and yeah low light part sucks :( I hate that I have lost it :(
for me it's the opposite, i want to go to 13 pro bcs it has a curved display 😂😂😂 (unfortunately, 14 pro isn't available globaly 😭😭😭😭😭, it's such a great phone😭)
One thing i noticed is that the actual focal length of the telephoto lens in Xiaomi 14 is unfortunately not a true 75mm(3.2x) it's around 2.6x and i don't wanna call out Xiaomi for lying but it's true. The 13 pro's telephoto lens is actually closer to the native 75mm than 14 despite both phones seemingly having the same sensor. Maybe that's why Xiaomi decided to oversharpen alot on the 14's zoom cuz simply put, it cannot match the 13 pro in terms of pure details. Also the 13 pro goes up to 70 times zoom while the 14 stops at 60 times.

Nice video and thank you for it. I use mostly the ultra wide lens for houses photoshoot. Do you think they are similar even the diference in Mp? You also said that Xiaomi was never best at this. Which company / similar model do you recomend?
Never the best at this, been a while this video, but I might have been talking about dynamic range? Unsure? And for house photoshoots should do fine yes :) The ultra wide is perfectly fine, just not the best dynamic range. Hello Jermaine.... Another substantial video that I love.... You are right about more artificial sharpening in Xiaomi 14, as it's clearly visible... At least there is more aggressive sharpening I noticed in different zoom levels in Xiaomi 14 Ultra too in others' videos... This is a bummer, because Xiaomi was staying generally in control of sharpening in it's flagship phones before... No good move by Xiaomi, really not appreciated... They want to be called THE BEST by everyone, so they entered in the Rat Race of phone's ratings, and are spoiling their uniqueness of rather lifelike or real looking images!!!
Yeah for me that part is important, and that telephoto is one that I use a lot!, so that sharpening needs to cool down for me. It isn't Samsung level crazy, but still bit too much. But it seems from samples I have seen on the Ultra that isn't the case. So maybe with some updates it will provide the same results or close to that (though that is a different sensor)

Yep, DXOMark for example have consistently rated Xiaomi flagships poorly, the 13 pro only scored 136 points in their ranking and yet the Xiaomi 14 got 138 probably due to the increased sharpening
According to some sample pictures in other reviews, it seems to me that sun flaring and ghosting is a significant problem of this phone camera. Is that really the case? Otherwise this camera seems really really good...
till a degree it can have that yes, but nothing TOO grazy, it really depends so much on the situation that I haven't had much of that experience yet. the 13 pro probably has it a bit more then on the 14 to be fair.
First A Big Thanks for referring Me to this video Yesterday😊 Second I have a Technical Question which is: Is there any difference between the 13T and 13TPro as far as Camera Performance goes? Asking because the Camera Setup is Identical but the Chipset is different on both Models.
no problem!! for the difference between those from what i been told is VERY minimal, more down to cpu itself and how it effects the shots verrrry minimally. So I wouldn't say the 13T pro will do a lot better
Well I bought used 13 ultra and I love it and gonna keep it for years likely. With gcam you get proper HDR colours 8k with stabilization (although not sure if this is good) and HDR+. Only problem I found is that you can mostly use 1x lens. A trade off. Also for photos if I want real life colours I find gcam most appropriate. Not sure which colour mode filter is most close to live on Xiaomi camera?
@@ThroughJermainesLens hmm i have a few shots with leather sofa and red velvet pillow and random stuff around it. Today I made a few shots and authentic failed to capture the pillow - it was overly bright and saturated. With gcam shot was very correct. Close to that was vibrant but with lowered brightness. Weird, I need to export this to my pc and compare there.
Ok on my TV authentic normal mode looks best and closest to life head to head with Gcam hdr mode. Kind of weird as on mobile they look a bit different.
This is going to be based on memory and looking at it on the phone while taking the pictures, so take it with a grain of salt, the xiaomi 14 I think had better dynamic range, so light sources were better on it, where the xiaomi 13 pro had a bit more of a detailed look, but it was close, again from memory though xD

I will definitely go from 13 Pro to 14. Cameras pretty much the same, maybe better HDR on 14. Finally USB 3, smaller and lighter phone and FLAT screen. And I hope the new sensor doesn't have that stupid cross pattern when i push the dynamic range on raws.
Hi, thanks for the much needed review. Could just help me choose between 13pro and 14, considering only the physical sensor size of 1" (Sony) with that of little smaller one in 14. How much of a difference is there if we consider only the main camera especially for Night, low lights... I was concerned regarding the sensor sizes... Thanks in advance.
I would say in low light ( BASED ON MEMORY because I cannot put them side by side sadly) the 14 is a decent amount better in dynamic range, but the 13 pro is a bit better in details :) And I think the flare is a bit better controlled on the 14 as well, but again from memory ^^
@@ThroughJermainesLens Thanks for the reply, i am currently in a confused state regarding which to get, the 14 is more i prefer with new chip and possible future updates are more, but its smaller size and missing 1" but 13pro is costlier here for some reason and that adds to my dilemma. My current device is an old Redmi Note 10pro and was hoping to get a good device to replace my aging DSLR. If only the 14 had the same exposure results and bokeh as the 13 pro, i wouldn't consider the other factors. If you could advice on my thoughts, would be helpful a bit more...
So a phone I wouldn't rate really as a DSLR, they just have something phones cannot do because of the approach and I assume your DSLR is micro4/3? But if you don't care about the size I would say go for the 14 :) The 14 has better dynamic range, better noise reduction in video. Just that sharpening on the telephoto that I really care for and size makes me pick the 13 pro xD@@amllemans
I was waiting for this comparison, really, i did not expected this result. Superb comparison. 🔥 Can you pin your thoughts about night mode shots taken from both the phones?
are we saying vivo x100 pro or x100 non pro? And realisticly I cannot give a direct realy answer based on own experience, but when it comes to for instance the camera, Xiaomi is more dramatic/cinematic, Vivo is more the bright experience, so less contrast for instance.

yeah honestly the difference isn't big, the xiaomi 14 better dynamic range, but the 14 better details, mostly with the main sensor, and a bit more consistent as well compared to the 14. I think choosing between these 2 really comes down to wanting a smaller or bigger phone realisticly.
I agree. Most people take pictures of other humans. They move, which makes it hard to take pictures in low light. All software tricks fail mostly with moving subjects.
Wish I could give you a proper answer there, but I do not won the 12 :( so It would be unfair of me to give a judgement on that, and while I could technically get it with my provider, it would be in black, and I want that phone in green for sure. And of course think about the extra cost.
I can understand that, though it was more how it was on the 13 pro, that is why preference always is a thing you have to discuss, but yes Dynamic range for sure is better on the 14!
@@ThroughJermainesLens it is and as I like to call it the 'small sister' of them all😂 lol call me pathetic, but it's true. I watched another video after yours to see and looks like Xiaomi 14 or 14 pro 👀 isn't anything remarkable..just same thing priced higher and one more camera lense added ..

Haha yes, but this Xiaomi 14 beats it in several things for sure^^ buttttt i would still pick the 13 pro because it is bigger, bit better battery life and also.. telephoto bit too sharp on the 14. Buuuuttt the 14 definitely has better dynamic range:) mostly noticeable in ultra wide

Well I am staying away from reviews so far, so I can judge myself, but seen images on twitter. But seeing how you're linking it, I assume they do that is a shame. @@alijan2k9
I am talking about particularly the people's photos at different zoom levels at about near the middle part in the shared video link! 🔗
First A Big Thanks for referring Me to this video Yesterday😊
Second I have a Technical Question which is:
Is there any difference between the 13T and 13TPro as far as Camera Performance goes?
Asking because the Camera Setup is Identical but the Chipset is different on both Models.
no problem!!
for the difference between those from what i been told is VERY minimal, more down to cpu itself and how it effects the shots verrrry minimally. So I wouldn't say the 13T pro will do a lot better
@@ThroughJermainesLens Thanks a lot 😉
thanks..great as always
no problem!
I dislike gcam 🤣
To add I find it really weird that Xiaomi app can either use stabilization or HDR. Not both and not 4k. Software limitation I guess.
For natural shots on Xiaomi use Authentic:)
Sir what about night photography which one do you peak for night photography 13 pro or 14?
This is going to be based on memory and looking at it on the phone while taking the pictures, so take it with a grain of salt, the xiaomi 14 I think had better dynamic range, so light sources were better on it, where the xiaomi 13 pro had a bit more of a detailed look, but it was close, again from memory though xD
is 13 ultra still a better choice versus the new regular 14?
Depends on what the price would be:)
Great video to be honist i think the 13 pro is more my thing keep up the good work
Thank you :)
Hi ,
Love you videos you are so unbias and spot on when you explain the photos . I think younatr briliant at what you do . I need some help please ,
I have redmi note 10 pro and i love taking macro shots of insects ,flowers anything really , my 10 has super macro 5mp its brilliant , however , the phone is playing up so its time for a new one . Im looking at xiaomi 13 pro but also the redmi 13 pro plus , would you say the xiaomi 13 pro would be a better option ,its the super macro i am intetested in .
Thank you if you get back to me 😊
mmmm ok so 5Mp macro's never really good to be fair. So looking at what you have now, the Xiaomi 13 Pro for instance does have solid macro capabilities. but it cannot get VERY close.
and thank you!!!
@@ThroughJermainesLens Thank you so much for your reply , oh that's a shame about the 13 pro not getting to close , more investigating for me as I love macro, although I do have a set of lenses you clip onto the phone , I've never really used them much but that could be an option . Also how many updates will 13 pro have ?.
Thanks again
The Xiaomi 14 is recording on 4K 60FPS on both cameras. On the back and on the front
That is a worthy correction! Heck useless 8k 24fps, but only if HDR is off
Xiaomi 13 users have been using Open Cam or GCam to get 4K with front cam.
Do you experience fogging lens from xiaomi 14?
Yes I do face this issue 😢 what to do man??
Just had my Xiaomi mi 9 Lite of 2019 replaced by the Xiaomi 14... I literally jumped into the future 😮
Me too 😅😅
I have a huawei p30 pro of 2019. Im looking at Xiaomi 14, do you recommend?
@@nunorevol1981can neither confirm nor deny... Never held a p30 pro before
Which is better in terms of battery life?❤

Hello bro
I need some advice
I finds Mi 13 PRO open box piece with warranty remaining at $362/30k INR
Is it worth the money ?
Mi 14 available at $845/70K INR
Little confused
Shall I go for last year's flagship instead of new one ? So I can save some money
362 for the xiaomi 13 PRO!? howly damn, yeah great deal!!!!!! go for it! saves a good amount! Yes dynamic range is better on the 14, but pics coming from this 13 pro is amazing! You will be more then pleased while saving a good amount!

Mi 13 PRO's camera can match against 2024 flagships, right ?
Everything is a top notch except front cam

here a comparison with the S24 Ultra:
ua-cam.com/video/WDyzP8FitnE/v-deo.html
and a standalone with the 13 pro :) ua-cam.com/video/yyW0b_gx5rE/v-deo.html
You should make a tutorial video on each of the camera functions.
I went and bought 14, but hdr video playback and brightness despite higher on paper for 14, 13pro is far better than 14. So i hv returned 14
Hello ! Very good video)
Tell me please,
Your humble opinion, what camera is better (photo and video) ? 13 pro or 14 ?
Thanks for answer
For me 13 pro has my preference:) and thank you!
Is it worth it to upgrade from 13 ultra to 14 ultra?
Depends on how much you would put in for it.
@@ThroughJermainesLens I don't think is mutch difference on photo
What about macro?? Xiaomi 14 or 13 pro?
They have no macro, but "telephoto."
@@ThroughJermainesLens thank you so much for your reply qnd now I'm much decided on Xiaomi 14..
@@amllemans no problem:)
I would still go for Xiaomi 13 pro❤ but yeah Xiaomi 14 has got better dynamic range.. and front facing camera is far superior compare to 13 pro.
pretty consistent.
I was waiting for this comparison, really, i did not expected this result. Superb comparison. 🔥
Can you pin your thoughts about night mode shots taken from both the phones?
No problem!! And will look at shots I have taken with both and try to come to some judgement, but it is hard because different days :(
@@ThroughJermainesLens Thank you so much
Hi i need ur help can u help me pick between Xiaomi 14 and Vivo x100 please I am confused with what to buy
are we saying vivo x100 pro or x100 non pro?
And realisticly I cannot give a direct realy answer based on own experience, but when it comes to for instance the camera, Xiaomi is more dramatic/cinematic, Vivo is more the bright experience, so less contrast for instance.
Waiting the 14 to go down in price..around 550€
Was waiting for couple of night shots. How did both perform?
This is going to be based on memory and looking at it on the phone while taking the pictures, so take it with a grain of salt, the xiaomi 14 I think had better dynamic range, so light sources were better on it, where the xiaomi 13 pro had a bit more of a detailed look, but it was close, again from memory though xD
to be honest, the xiaomi 13 pro has better quality but the xiaomi 14 is not far behind due to the price, it is better... but yes, they are both good
yeah honestly the difference isn't big, the xiaomi 14 better dynamic range, but the 14 better details, mostly with the main sensor, and a bit more consistent as well compared to the 14. I think choosing between these 2 really comes down to wanting a smaller or bigger phone realisticly.
How does the 13T Pro compare to the Xiaomi 14?
14 beats it ;)
13 pro my choice for lesa money and better design and build
completly fair :)
Vivo x 100 pro Vs xiaomi 13 pro would be nice comparison. Im stuck really between both these phones.
100 much beter
@partisan2338 yep no doubt. 100 vivo fan now. But leica color🫠
You should also show shutter speed and ISO. And also include human subject in your videos
I agree. Most people take pictures of other humans. They move, which makes it hard to take pictures in low light. All software tricks fail mostly with moving subjects.
What do you think about oneplus 12 vs 14 series???!
Wish I could give you a proper answer there, but I do not won the 12 :( so It would be unfair of me to give a judgement on that, and while I could technically get it with my provider, it would be in black, and I want that phone in green for sure. And of course think about the extra cost.
The 14 looked better in every shot to me. The 13 was too bright and blue. The 14 also handles dynamic range better.
I can understand that, though it was more how it was on the 13 pro, that is why preference always is a thing you have to discuss, but yes Dynamic range for sure is better on the 14!
The 14's mic sounds like a walkie talkie
To be fair to both, it was reallllyyyy windy 🤣
Why not click human potrait
because it is hard to get someone to want to be shot, and speak with people hahaha. sorry
@@ThroughJermainesLens why want someone you also are human
Me with my Xiaomi 13T Pro rn : 👁️👄👁️
13t Pro is pretty solid still ^^
@@ThroughJermainesLens it is and as I like to call it the 'small sister' of them all😂 lol call me pathetic, but it's true. I watched another video after yours to see and looks like Xiaomi 14 or 14 pro 👀 isn't anything remarkable..just same thing priced higher and one more camera lense added ..
hahahaha, no I don't call you pathethic, I don't call people that over things like that ^^ But the 14 and 14 are really solid and the biggest advantage is the 3.2 telephoto with the floating lens, they just need to work on the processing of it :)
xiaomi 14 will be my next phone
no way! 13pro better
The Xiaomi 14 can shoot in 4K 60fps, if you disable HDR.
See pinned comment^^
I think you're in love with the Xiaomi 13 pro ever since it launched😂
Haha yes, but this Xiaomi 14 beats it in several things for sure^^ buttttt i would still pick the 13 pro because it is bigger, bit better battery life and also.. telephoto bit too sharp on the 14. Buuuuttt the 14 definitely has better dynamic range:) mostly noticeable in ultra wide
Interesting decision done by Xiaomi to introduce 14 an 14 ultra globally. 14 pro might have been that sweetspot (in terms of smartphone, not camera)🤔
@@jindrichsenekl5405 i think it is a good decision because that would probably be 1299 for it, and then it makes a bit less sense to have that in between i guess unless the 14 sold for like 799, the pro 1099 and then ultra 1499
They both have lens fog issues... Am done with Xiaomi.
Disappointed with the Xiaomi 13. And Xiaomi is being unreliable with changes in their camera processing.
13 Pro still a good buy.
agreed :) Though the 14 does do well in the dynamic range segment, where the 13 pro isn't that strong xD
13 pro 👍

I do not have the 14 Pro ;) It wasn't a global model.
14 must be better. Because 13 Pro was tragically bad.
