Nice work Samuel, you really brought fun and life into the tech reviews. The fact about making phone dim enough when bringing kids to sleep is so relatable. It makes me want to switch from iPhone 15 pro to 16 pro now that they are able to dim the display to 1 nit. Please test this when you review the phone if you ever did
You can easily do this using the "Reduce white point" feature on the 15 pro in accessibility settings. Setting "Reduce white point" to 100% will be about the same as the 16 pro's 1 nit.
As a heavy user of features, Samsung's UI still pulls me towards it. Xiaomi is great but if they can match or do better in this department, I may go for it.
For me, if you want a practical wise phone: long battery, fast charge, great camera photos; I'd pick the xiaomi, a good bang for your buck. But if you're a tad bit picky about the user experience and overall operations of the phone, I'd pick samsung, better ui simpler to use and follow, has longer software support, not as beefy in the hardware but still pretty above average its a nice pick. Personally I have a samsung, but I frequently borrow my mum's redmi cuz its bigger screen is nice for watching episodes and movies on plus doesnt drain as much. But man navigating through that phone was just so convoluted and filled with bloatware and ads that it felt like the cheaper price for the china phones are compensated with bloated software programs
The end of a video often feels like the conclusion of an episode in a series. You instinctively want to click on 'next episode,' only to realize it isn't available yet. But when it finally drops, you rush to watch, and the cycle starts all over again.
@@CatherineAYackob No, Samsung (37%) is the no. 1 in Germany, very close to Apple (34%) at no 2. No. 3 is Xiaomi with 10%. In reality almost everyone under 30 uses an iPhone. You are the cringe guy if you don't use an iPhone. I Know girls who would never date an android guy.
I think it's just that most people are used to Samsungs UI (which is extremely good btw) but yeah Xiaomi could be better in those places you pointed out. Great video man
Yes there's a way to dim the screen, I have a quick tile on my Redmi note 10 pro. I believe I got it from an app called "Activity launcher" that basically lets you get access to settings buried that otherwise you couldn't, then all you have to do is set a quick tile and yeah it dims everything once toggled on. So yeah, the extra dim function is native, but buried and not accessible through the normal settings (if that makes sense). The adds in the spotlight I believe can be turned off, since I got no adds whatsoever, none. Full disclosure, I'm on MIUI 14 (Android 13), I don't know how it's like on HyperOS, never got to use it. And yeah, the Android widgets su**, vintage and not in the good way hahaha! I've been a Xiaomi (Redmi) user for the past 3 & 1/2 years but planning to get a top tier Samsung in the future, especially because of AI, since I believe Samsung and Apple are probably in the front of the race regarding AI.

Hey, It’s me again. Don’t know if you remember me but I was one of the people who recommended you the Xiaomi 14. Yes the iPhones will always be kings of video but when it comes to compact camera phones the current best would be the Xiaomi 14 and Pixel 9 Pro (recently released). When comparing it to bigger beasts I’d say the Xiaomi 14 Ultra has a bigger kick to it.
Bro, I LOVED that ending so much. I got so excited at the creativity. So funny! Glad you're back and posting regularly again! Also, not to make your life harder but you should check out the Sony Xperia 5 V (or maybe VI if it ever comes out). :)

Extra Dim is actually part of the Android AOSP feature, and for no reason Xiaomi likes to hide those features, I'm not sure if the Extra Dim can be turn on in Xiaomi via activity launcher or not. Plus one of the reason I sold my xiaomi is they hid the microphone and camera access feature, which is part of Android 12, again for no reason.
Xiaomi Have that Feature since 2019 what you gonna do is open play stre and type hidden setting for miui or activity launcher and they give hidden settings of your phone beucause xiaomi uses different OS in some countries if you buy from china you will get CN OS if you get from Europe You have 2 options device is normally came with Global (MI) OS and you can install EU OS this will open up all feautres of phone and removes all blootware and ads. you can close the ads but it is hard to find. i use to own s22 and had a really bad experince with charging speed heating issue and battery drain but i loved how one ui is . i recently bought xiaomi 14 loved the charging speed battery backup and camera and almost no heating issue but man does the hyper os suck with bloats and ads when the phone is almost 1000 dollars .. they need to polish the software and remove those shoty apps and ads .
You should consider reviewing the Xiaomi Pad 6 along with all its accessories. It is a strong competitor to the iPad, offering nearly all the essential features at about a third of the price.
Screen dimm is hidden in accessibility settings in xiaomi . Eu rom. Activate with accessibility gesture of dual finger (both thumbs) on the bottom navigation pill (for full screen gestures). I'll check my wifes phone since she uses the regular global rom if she has it under accessibility. Thank you for your look at the Xiaomi 14. Wanted to get but will wait atleast a year because the price is almost half then. My wife has the Xiaomi 13 and her pictures have been so much nicer already than from my mi 10 pro. And the 14 has an even better camera. And yea the system ads, I use eu rom from the Xiaomi . Eu forum which removes those. Cheers
There is no one small phone that can beat Asus Zenfone 10 - Yet. The performance and autonomy is just unbelievable. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 make it really powerful for such an small phone.
How did you put custom icon packs on your Xiaomi? I thought it only works with using third party launchers but you still have gestures on your Xiaomi and launchers only work with button navigation.
Really wanted to have the normal S24 in beginning of the year... Of cause samsung also decided to put in Exynos in europe as well and that's why I decided to go with the S24+ because of the battery-.-... To be honest: I never had a issue in performance and the + has a really good screen on time. But yeah still could be better with a Snapdragon. Also then I would have picked the smaller S24... I really hope that samsung improves the Exynos so it can be as good or better in efficiency. But I guess the only reason right now is to reduce the manufacturing prices. =( I hope I'm wrong and it really can challenging IPhones and Snapdragons in future or it get dropped in the bin...
Ohoooo I might make content out of this tutorial. I just did it like any other android phone? Don’t think I did anything special. Used an app to change icons from memory.
Next year, compare Samsung Galaxy s25, Apple iPhone 16 Pro, Google Pixel 9 Pro, Xiaomi 15, Vivo x200 Pro Mini, Oppo Find X8, these will be compact smartphones, some of them have already released and some are going to release.

What is the new Vivo mini phone? Would like more details about this, thanks.
yee vivo 200 pro mini

So bad vivo label it as Pro mini but it gets only type C 2.0 port ☹️
