how's the shutter lag on the HP9 zoom lens compared to 14U?

Just saw a lot of UA-camrs trashing the vivo x100 ultra camera software.saying its its inferior to Xiaomi and they rather purchase X100 pro instead

I dislike the vivo's extreme HDR and over sharpening, sticking with my 14 ultra, I don't care if the images are more detailed if the detail itself doesn't look good

Overall I prefer the Xiaomi. Its feels more like a dslm. (Except portrait) Good work.

Xiaomi is excellent but too much like my real camera. It seems they are leaving the world of smartphone and dives into the world of real cameras. Don't know what to think. Don't know whether I like it.

Still using my Mi 11 ultra .. I still love the design of it and camera. Still holds against other flagship phones.

I am a xiaomi user..they should really work on their OS.. Messy OS. They should introduce a clean OS like pixel..then it will be 10/10

Question, I recently bought a xiaomi 13 ultra but I am able to return and buy a vivo x100 pro instead if in your opinion the camera - for photos, primarily, dont use video option as much - is better than the xiaomi 13 ultra , would you please advise? thanks in advance

I will say this I have Xiaomi 14U the photos are better than what is in the video but I don't like the colors of the X100 Ultra... for me Xiaomi 14U in certain photos it did better but I like Xiaomi more than Vivo You can even see that the X100U at night the colors are saturated, while the Xiaomi ones are more natural

Vivo have more options to choose like vivid textured or Zeiss natural so if you like photos buy vivo x100 pro is like the ultra version but cheaper like 800$ usd or less

Xiaomi looks like the photo is in raw and goes well and easy with editing. Id prefer that for sure

Very nice video. I love the fact that you now can change the sharpness and saturation as well directly while using the automatic photo mode. On the X90 Pro+ you could only change brightness and contrast. Which is already better than on most other phones and as the X90 Pro+ doesn't really oversharpen photos its no big deal, but still its great to have that option now and therefore more control especially as some other reviewers were complaining about a slight oversharpening on the X100 Ultra. But you are the first one I've seen so far showing the availability of these 4 options. I don't understand why other don't show that as I think complaining about to much brightness or oversharpened photos is kind of wrong if you have the ability to change these settings super quick and easy. On phones where you can't do that and need to edit them afterwards I understand the criticism

Im sorry i have both the s24u snd z60u 90% of time photos are better on nubia. Aleo battery is shit on s24u i have to charge super slow mid day cthe z60u easily lasts 10hrs..

Xioami looks like in Leica Authentic Mode.. theres a lot of retro vibe that other people don't appreciate. You should compare it with Leica Vibrant mode.

I would say that Vivo is the winner in almost all the pictures.

This phone is still a pro, im still waiting for oneplus and sony to give me another 4k 120 fps sensor. This phone is soo good.

The early outdoor scenes are so full of wind noise I am passing on all ultra cameras just for that reason. If I cannot get 3.5mm (sturdy) jack that accepts external mike I'd be paying good money for bad audio.

Great comparison Jermaine 😀 I agree with you on the Vivo looking more pleasing overall and the much better skin tones. Hopefully Xiaomi will sort this out at some point with a software update 🤞 For now I'm still enjoying the Xiaomi 14 Ultra 😀

Awesome video love the indepth details about each and their capabilities. Loving the detail pics with the x100..... Not sure in what instances a person uses 8k but I think it's unnecessary. Would love to see some panning shot with both. Keep up the awesome reviews

Brilliant review I try overcoming Xiaomi shortcomings with the following 1) Using GCam Mod ( GCam Apk software ) for darker situations to improve dynamic range and improving detail levels. The same applies to the extremely brightly lit situation / High dynamic range situations 2) I take most portrait shots in normal mode ( 3.2x , 5x )rather than dedicated portrait shots. I always reduce exposure levels by -0.7 to 1.0 EV. I have noticed that 35mm crop portraits in portrait mode is most reliable , as perhaps from the main sensor. 3) I use polariser / ND filter often to reduce glares and improve contrast, specially on flat shots of 3.2x , 5.0x 4) I use 50 MP mode for zoom shots where I need more details. Shooting in RAW with Leica High contrast Black and White filter improves post processing and dynamic range for 3.2 x and 5.0 x 5) The 3.2X / 75 mm lens is most acceptable for macroshots. 6) Video shooting with a DJI Gimbal is quite beneficial for videos. I prefer Dolby Vision output although limited to the main sensor. I guess shooting in log mode with post processing LUT application can give HDR. Adding a ND filter/ polariser helps here as well with contrast and reducing glares. Finally a question: Does 5x Zoom direct comparison on Vivo X 100 ultra feel a bit synthetic, rather than dedicated optical zoom on Xiaomi? The portrait shots looked more organic on Xiaomi although skin colours were too off. GCam Mod helps here as well , I think. So yeah Xiaomi currently is a bit inconsistent and needs more tweaks. Vivo is the better point and shoot.
