Dude, this is amazing. Massive props on your playstyle and the tone you've managed to recreate with this. Was in a crappy mood until I stumbled upon your channel! Respect from a fellow Tool fan and bassist!
Your tool covers are spot on and crazy emulation on the tool tone - whenever someone thinks bass is a 2nd rate instrument I just send them to one of your covers and watch their minds change
Am I watching A king who plays Bass so majestically.Great Talent!! Have to be really good if you want to play tools's any track. Greeting from India \m/
para mi una de las mejores canciones que pueden haber, don kello si justin llegara a salirse de tool, haremos una encuesta para que usted entre jejejeje no los vio en el df hace un par de años? rayos!!! que fregón estuvo!!
Kello, what if you did a quick recap on your settings at the beginning of each song? would probably be very popular, just a quick screenshot or something
@@kellogc Maybe try it out on one of your upcoming videos, I think a lot of people are interested in how you get your tone to match and be so different from vid to vid. Or maybe do a video of you talking about Helix and how you use it, or demonstrate how you get your tone for a particular song?
i think it's an overdrive and a delay towards the end. i hate to mention another channel, but there's a Leo's bass covers on here and he's got the effects listed. he's done tons of Tool covers. Kello's tone is way sicker, but the other guy's got the info.
Nice ,nice nice love your sound my man, here is a suggestion.....you and JohnKew(Drums) should get together and do some sounds for us diehards of Tool.........nicely done Kello,I can listen all day.
hey man! great vid: I'm looking to buy my first bass to play Tool and similar tones, would you recommend a mildly-priced P- bass with active humbuckers? or what would you suggest for someone who can't afford a Wal (just yet)? Thanks!
Even a Sterling sub series can get really close, they're around like 300 I paid for mine, saw the price and almost didn't pick it up, but for that price it is a tone monster, also the closest you're going to get to a Wal without one is a G&L double humbucker model, they're usually between 700 and 1300 I believe
jambi yes, all Wal basses have the "pick attack" feature that enhances treble frequencies. Interestingly enough, I'm not using it. I'm actually have rolled down the tone knob to cut some treble.
These basses do have a natural growl. I've owned 2 and this one has a more treble timbre than the previous one I owned. They are definitely more predominant on the mid frequencies
How do you setup your Wal bass? (pick up balance + Filter option both pick up´s + trim pottis in the elektronic/battery-space + (realy no?) pick attack) i own a Wal Mk2 since two day´s (YEAH!!! :-P) and try all the diffrent seting options. Love your sound!!
One thing I absolutely love about Justin Chancellor is that he lets the notes ring out
Its called feeling the vibration
even though its a bass cover, it still inspires me to play on my guitar, just by seeing how you enjoy playing this
Well, i watch the vid and get my guitar to join the cover cuz i love Lateralus. Great cover.
While this whole thing was very impressive, we are all just really waiting for 7:22 right?? I mean come on, how fucking cool is that part??!!
Exactly
Fucking cool? you are wrong ! is fucking awesome, first time i heard that song and he play really bad ass
This is the truth
NASA wonders what it's really like to travel through a worm or black hole. I think we found the answer at 7:22
@@MrHanky78I shit you not just the other day this part made me think of scenes from interstellar with the black holes and worm holes
Anyone with a decent bass output system get addicted to these videos lol, +1
Playing Tool fingerstyle and killing it. What a fucking legend!
Great use of tone, it sounds deeper than Justin's studio version, giving it more presence and depth. Outstanding work as always.
Thanks for watching 🤘🏻☺️

That’d be cool. Although as now I’m using Helix I’m not sure how much it may relate to most people. What do you think? 👊🏻

who else always count through the fibonacci sequence when hearing this song
I want this song blaring planet-wide when the four horsemen of the apocalypse return to tear this place up

Excelente trabajo.
That was just phenomenal. So great watching it being done on a Wal too.
Can you get a similar tone with other basses that have two humbucker pickups?
So from what I’ve gathered, no, not really. But you can get close with a sansamp, Ernie ball rounds and a pick is probably important.
Who's that in the pic on the wall? Quite the Cliff pose.
Ugggggh dat tone!
clap clap clap clap impresionante
muy buen cover, muy muy bueno tu estilo hermano...felicitaciones...
On the 7:22 part waht bass effect did you use?
Which effects do you use in this rendering of Lateralus Kello? That sound is absolutely amazing and spot on!!

i'm curious about your gear you use in your tool covers
Cómo está afinado Justin de Tool?
Generalmente está en Dropped D (DADG) 🤘🏻
Hola Kello, ¿cómo has estado?
How would you compare the Wal to your Warwick?
I want a Bass Whammy...
Hey man, im a brasilian fan and I LOVE your covers, HOW Did you do to isolate the bass on the original music?
Ps: AWSOME COVER!
There's a page called remixpacks, there are the tracks for each instruments of songs
