I agree. Listening to Cliff solo’d on Master of Puppets, I hate to say his tone sounds pretty average. But Rasmussen did a decent job of pushing the parts that worked, such as these classic Orion lines, and burying the parts that didn’t, such as the main riff after the outro.

The solo after Kirks solo where it comes in off a pulled bass string. Got to me. Almost started crying. LOL. It was that good for me. I wasn't expecting that. I felt it. In that moment. Thanks for that. That is what good musicianship does to me.
I learned this and the album at 14 years old and it still explodes my heart. RIP Cliff. Great job, sir. Your covers are dope

That bass solo is all cliffs heart and soul and his inspirations and I love this instrumental, I try to keep up with some parts (not the bass solo to hard for me) everybody who was inspired by Cliff Burton has a little bit of him in you.

i played this in the car and my guitarist asked me if i could lend him the cd, said he sat on his copy of master. i said its not master, its a youtube bassist, wouldnt believe me till i pulled it out and showed him the burned cd.

Thanks for helping me refine this peice,being able to watch you play helps me here the parts i was missing,which was the ending couple notes after the main riff,that little run down the neck,watching you also showed me that a couple parts arent as hard as they sound

This song literally inspired me to pick up a bass when I was 14. Cliff, Steve Harris and Geezer Butler were my own personal holy trinity when I was that age. If I'd stuck with it maybe I could play it like you do

Thank you. Cliff was my inspiration as I started (also at 14), I don't recall the exacts on my rig as it's been some time since I recorded this video. I used an Alembic Elan bass, through an Aguilar amp setup. For effects I used Sansamp DBBI, Mountainking Electronics Megalith Fuzz and Morley Dual bass wah.
