    Is getting ab lean worth it? Or would rather embrace the bulked look? 🔽

    At 36 lbs down, I'm feeling great but realizing it's gonna take quite a bit more to lose the belly fat I've carried since childhood, even if I'm not going for a 6 pack. Your "before" video at 205 lbs is SEXY AF and closer to my ideal size, but at 203 I still don't look like that. Goes to show it's all relative and our bodies are unique, and it really is an experiment to see what you like on yourself. I'm at that in between stage, and I'm going to keep going to see what happens, not giving up now! Thank you for all your continued support and always keeping it real, brother!

      You're crushing it, Pauly :)
      Sometimes it takes a few different pushes to get where you want to go, too.
      Maybe we do a muscle gain diet together, after you get as lean as you want? You have the right attitude - 'let's see how it goes / it's all an experiment'.
      Thanks for watching!!

    I got down to 15% body fat and then I started lean bulking. Just had a dexa scan and I’m now down to 13%. I lost 1kg of fat and gained 2kg of muscle whilst ‘bulking’. I do weight training 5 days a week and eat loads of protein but I think the key for keeping off (or even losing) fat on a bulk is loads of very low intensity cardio

    last place to lose weight is the belly, thats why face looks frail. Its important to eat heathy food and maintain proper portion of protein, fiber and less carbs. I am not heavy but never had abs, did a smei-keto diet and just ate heathy and now I have noticeable abs and flat stomach and didnt lose much on the face, took a good 3 months. You can do it, but it takes dedication, no fast and easy approach

    I’m on the “x-pak” journey right now. I’m 61 and fit after decades of consistent weight lifting and competitive cycling I don’t really have a long way to go but it isn’t easy. This guy is telling the truth, the truth you won’t find in a massive sea of “how I got six pak abs” vids on you tube. If you want to maintain most of your lean mass it can take months to see any progress and in my case, my face gets so lean I can be described as gaunt. I’m going to continue because I always experiment with food and physical activity but I think I already know I feel better and perform better with a higher level of body fat. Just one thing: I drop the F bomb myself on occasion but in a really good video the word “fuck” was relied on too heavily as a sentence enhancer. For me it kinda reduces that quality of the product from a 10 to an 8. Cheers.

    This video is the most informative thing i‘ve ever seen on youtube. I myself dieted down to Ab lean and i can only confirm everything he said. Especially the part about the false total weight loss expectations. If you think you need to lose 20 lbs to get lean, trust me you probably need to lose double that. Also the diet Phases and break are extremely important because trying to lose the weight all at once is very counterproductive and you‘ll end up regaining it back.

    what some people forget is that abs are muscles i have like prob 20-25% body fat and my abs still poke through a small amount like a four pack you dont need to have a 6-10% body fat percentage just grow them

    I once thought that getting to 185 at 6ft tall would get me lean. Lowest I got years ago was 180 and I still wasn’t even that defined. Kinda black pilling to understand that it takes so much more than you think. Going down in weight again and I’m hoping 175lbs will yield some definition this time.
    FYI I have decent muscle mass but it’s very moderate.

      In my experience, it can take a few pushes to really get yourself as lean as you want to be. Sometimes, it pays to bulk and gain more muscle before you try dieting again!

    When I was a wrestler with 9% body fat, I still couldn't see my abs :/. A four pack if I flexed, but that was it

    • @MatteoMarra3
      @MatteoMarra3  4 місяці тому

      Hey Alastair - it's more likely that you weren't really 9% body fat, because you would likely have SUPER defined abs at that body fat percentage.
      Otherwise, maybe they just need to be developed some more!

    Please please please, work your abs with the same vigor and progressive overload as you'd do any other muscle. I don't care if you are on a year/ two year long bulk and won't ever see them in that duration, you will thank yourself once you cut.

    genetics are way more important than credited in this video. Don't go for abs, just go for what looks good on the rest of you. I had more abs at 20% bf than this dude but everything looked very subpar. Great video though.

    • @MatteoMarra3
      @MatteoMarra3  4 місяці тому

      Of course genetics are important - but there's nothing you can do about them, right?
      You had veins on your abs at 20% body fat?

      @@MatteoMarra3 very true, i didn't have veins on abs when i was 20%, i do have now though. I was one of the people who thought "what's the point of cutting down if i can't maintain". Turns out it is in fact as you said pretty easy.
