- A special video for One Man and His Boat where Skipper Barry Brunton explains what is needed to build a creel, also known as a lobster pot, that he will use on the Lynsey B to fish off the East Lothian coast in Scotland.
The video ends with a short 5 minute time-lapse of the build that actually took 15-18 hours to finish. In total Barry built 50 new creels over three months at the beginning of 2019 and here is how he does it

Great video ... It shows the load of work that goes into rigging a decent creel.
Thanks for this video 😊
Why have you put the hard round eye in the middle of the soft eye. Normally the hard eye is at the end of the soft eye in side the creel?
Verry nice pots! may i ask you where you get the pot plastic pannels for the pot bothom plate? And what size are they? Best reagards Pete
How long does it take to make a pot start to finish?
Where do you purchase your twine and where do you purchase your netting needles?
What is the purpose of wrapping the trap with the light blue rope?
Protects the metal against rubbing on the rocks
Do you sell any of these???
I would like one for my paddle board
I'm sorry but the way you make creels doesn't to me , I have been making creels for 15 years in mull at Mac Dougall's garage in the Isle of Mull and the way you put the rubber on is weird plus the different types on twine and rope isn't necessary plus we also make our own creels by hand ( weld the frame, coat the frame ), please if you read this get in touch would like to know you're opinion.
could we have a talk
