Yup 2 criminal masterminds here lol. Wtaf 2 dumb 16 yo kids, getting horror movies & real life mixed, & that's fs never gonna end well. Sure their grasp on reality wasn't great, but they were well aware of what they were doing. And both had wayyyy to much of a thrill at the thought of killing for fun. I honestly dk how you can change that part of you completely. Tory stating Bundy ect will be amateurs compared to them lol. Bundy was a sick fk, but he could've caught these 2 in his sleep. Nve mind the FBI. They saw themselves going out like Columbine, yet after Cassie was killed, it's like they realised there's more to it in real life, than Scream or whatever movie. Tory esp is crapping it. Whining on phone call, to his parents the prosecutor is going for life without. Yup 1st deg murder has that effect on prosecutors.
Can we just take a moment and think about how terrified Cassie must have been. Having the lights go out, and flicker on/off, hearing strange noises in the basement, seeing the dogs react to something...then being alone and 2 people with masks on run up the stairs and stab you. And only 16 years old. I'm in my 40s and I can't fathom the fear.
It broke my fucking heart when they said she was scared and asked Matt to stay but his mom refused. She already felt like something bad was gonna happen. We can all relate to that feeling but then her worst nightmare became reality and just like that she is gone. They took her. So fucking horrible, makes me livid. I don’t think I could stand by my child if they committed such atrocity.

Isn’t he disgusting? I wonder if his cellmates are grossing him out with boogers of their own to put on his jumpsuit, 🤮holy crap😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Now I bet Torey cowers down in fear now that he sees there’s all big bad scary scary broad violent dudes in prison. He only thinks he’s hardcore by killing innocent girls

Imagine planning to murder someone and video taping yourself admitting to it before and after actually doing it. Then thinking you're going to get away with it...Some big brain action going on with these two guys.
"We studied movies on how to get away with murder and are totally gonna get away with this!" *Chooses a victim from a close friend circle, makes sure everyone knows they were the last person to see them alive, records multiple videos talking about exactly what they're gonna do, picks the weakest alibi ever, then immediately flakes on said alibi...* Real criminal masterminds over here, lol.
I mean, they're kids, what did you expect? What's more, once you get pressured on something as serious as this, adrenaline kicks in and your heart keeps pounding like a 5 meter temple gong, you can't really think straight at that moment. Unless you're a psycho who doesn't feel a thing that is.
It's a good thing that Brian doesn't have a tell like stuttering when he's lying or making something up, and it's a REALLY good thing that he didn't happen to film himself and his friend discussing the crime in detail.
They even made sure to repeatedly say “I know this is wrong but we have to make sacrifices”! Genius to remove the possibility of claiming insanity in court
What sicken me the most is that Cassie was a genuinely good friend to the two boys. She supported their passion for horror and even asked them to have her act in a lead role in one of their movies. Sadly; Cassie didn't know that her two "friends" became irredeemable monsters as soon as they turned their passion into a maddening obsession...
@@angelika5622not really she was just laughing at him when he was filming her. there’s no way she expected anything like this to happen, no one would lmao. stop being cringe
I dont mean to make a joke, but when Brian was trying to recount what the movie was about, it reminded me of when I didnt read a book I was supposed to in school and a part of our test was to talk about our favorite part/characters, I made up what I thought was the most elaborate details.. only to find out, teachers are not stupid; neither are interrogators. Honest is key my friends... I can promise you that much.
I made the mistake of writing about someone that was added to the movie. And the teacher pointed out what I did without saying it was me but my face turned so red with embarrassment that everyone knew. It's funny now but as a freshman in high school it makes you feel like a fool.
I totally aced a book report on a book I never read. I was creative then but I also think it's dumb luck and living in a town of 600 people. Haha fortunately the teacher didn't put me on the spot to talk about it I'd of been screwed!
@@Iamnotamonster I got a good one.. I had to take a computer scored test which was all multiple choice. didn't study at all. I answered all the questions by means of a Phil Collins song "ABACAB" Answered all questions in this repeating format and got a B+ Thank You Phil Collins!
This makes me wonder about Matt. Imagine not only having your girlfriend killed by people you thought were your friends, but knowing that if your mom hadn't told you to come home, they would've been willing, and probably would have, killed you too. And then, on top of everything, try to use you as an alibi. I hope he's doing alright.
Not to mention the guilt he, still, likely feels. Survivor’s gully is troublesome enough, but, I imagine he’s done many “if-onlys” in his head over the years. The same probably goes for Matt’s mum too. Of course, there are, in NO WAY, to blame for anything, and, like you said, I hope they’re doing as best as can be expected. The whole thing is so tragic. Needlessly so.
I hope they now have a happy healthy life I had in highschool moved states to live with my mom and my highschool boyfriend was coming to surprise me at graduation and tell me he’s gotten in to a college near where I lived and he got into a car accident and died I can only imagine what Matt felt knowing that he could’ve maybe possibly stopped it or he could’ve died myself I feel for him off of personal experiences
It must be hard for him to trust anyone, after not one, but two of his "friends" happily murdered his girlfriend and wouldn't have hesitated to kill him, as well.
Or they would have thought twice and she would still be alive because they were messing with both of them I don't think they would have tried it if he was there that's why they waited for him to leave
Not to forget the mother as well. All she did was to refuse her son spending the night in an unknown house. All normal parent behavior. She even invited Cassie to instead go to their house. I really hope she doesn't blame herself irrationally
@@sillyssubliminalplayground8633 he only does it when he lies though! dead giveaway!🤣 then he gets all over exited about horror films. Jheez!! What a smart fellow.
I thought the same thing! At first I thought he just had a stutter that acted up when he was nervous, but it really is coming out more prominently when he is telling lies. His family members must catch him all the time, so how did he really think that he would be able to BS the cops in an interrogation.
Right?! I was thinking the same thing. I bet he has self esteem issues because of his stutter and maybe was even bullied for it. He could have become a resentful person.
@@beenhog6922 it can be how stutters work. obviously some people have a stutter that’s always there or just sometimes there and others stutter heavily when they’re extremely nervous, such as he did.
@@beenhog6922 depending on the amount of work that someone has put into controlling their stutter, it can 100% work like that. Based on his initial interaction and the videos, he's had therapy (speech or otherwise) and is able to mostly control it in a relaxed state. Lying is stressful, whether from an adrenaline rush for pathological liars or anxiety for the guilty, and stress is often a trigger for people with stutters. Some people speak fine with their friends, but if they meet a stranger or have to give a public presentation, they stutter, because the latter situations are stress/anxiety inducing. It doesn't inherently mean a person is guilty, being questioned by police alone could induce someone's stutter, but in the case it is a very clear indicator he was lying. He wasn't stuttering from the get go with the police, it was only when he had to back up his lies that it started getting bad.
To be hurt by her 'friends' too :( I feel so bad for her, i always feel for the victims but this is really sad genuinely. She thought they were cool, but they killed her. How horrible?
Yeah. Just devastating, she had no way to escape because those 2 evil bloodthirsty sickos pitch blacked the house. They took sick sick pleasure of her final terrifying moments alive. I’m glad her family can rest easy now (even though this still doesn’t bring Cassie back) knowing Brian and Torey will live out their last breath in prison. They’re rotting away there. @@uzumakislumpz Prison is the worst karma anyone can ever feel because it’s filled with 24/7 unpredictable chilling terror. Inmates can snap without warning and all prisoners don’t get to eat whenever they want to, go to bed whenever they want to. The food all prisoners eat is never gonna be appetizing, what makes it even worse about that is the fact that inmates from other prison cells specially prepare the food for all inmates themselves and you know what? They can easily contaminate the food too. I can go on. But this gives you the best idea of the worst karma these 2 evil bloodthirsty sickos are experiencing
These microphones make everything sound so much more intense. Like the cop at one point was just rustling through papers and i was just getting anxious listening to all the noise built up in the room!
Toreys mother is a goofball. She wrote a book after the sentencing, essentially blaming Cassies family, Brian, the police, the defense attorneys and claiming that he is completely innocent. Absolutely deluded.

@@natemurray311 he was allowed to live under their roof, but i seriously doubt he was raised. Dollars to doughnuts he never once got his butt beat in his entire life. However make no mistake, once he gets to prison that butt will be getting plenty of action.
To be fair, it's obvious because we know the truth in hindsight, but if he was innocent and had a speech impediment linked to stress (this is a stressful situation, innocent or not), assuming he's lying would be wrong. But knowing what we know, it makes things quite obvious.
2:02:49 These detectives are SHARP, aren’t they? The way the one calls him Matt multiple times, I love how nothing gets past the other detective sitting in silence. I loved too how once Torey learned their made up story about being at the movies failed miserably and then tried to convince the detectives they broke into cars looking for things to steal and he not only can’t even identify the vehicles he and Brian broke into, but when he said to the detectives on why they won’t be able to find his finger prints on the car doors is because he used his sleeve to open them🤭buhahahahahaha
He was actually a bad stutterer as a child and had therapy to control it. But it is not at all unusual for the stutter to come back under extreme stress. Don't get me wrong - it was a cold blooded killing, and he deserves his sentence. But the stutter wasn't made up to get sympathy. In more recent film of him in prison where he admits his part in it, he still has a noticeable stutter, especially with 's' sounds.
That's how stuttering works. Guilty or not, someone with a stuttering issue will stutter a lot more under pressure. He has a genuine stutter, as someone else mentioned, there's a follow up video of him and he still has it. Also worth mentioning that he does seem to be genuinely remorseful and tormented by what he did. He accepts his sentence and has actively tried to be better. Hard to say I feel bad for him but I can at least give unbiased respect where it's due.
Note to self: if investigators ever accuse me of a crime and say “I don’t believe you’re the kind of person to do this” they 100 percent believe i am the kind of person that did it.
Yep, exactly, that's the positive reinforcement, they're trying to make you think of yourself as the good person and thus invoke a sense of guilt over keeping a secret or lying.

@Eli Shhh furthermore, everyone has echoed the exact same sentiment you’ve just shared with us. Absolutely nobody is disagreeing with you. Someone even said “this is the second worst thing that can happen to a parent, right under losing a child”, which is precise, accurate, faultless, on the dot, clear-cut and explicitly what you’re saying. I like how he built up the suspense like he was gonna tell the truth and instead went to a different lie. “I guess i gotta tell you the truth….we went through cars”
Oh that’s a classic tactic bro. Used it with the girlfriend a number of times. Start with the obvious bullshit excuse and then give the ol “Ok ok I’ll come clean, soo I didn’t want to tell you where I was because (insert something still a little bad for believability , but that she would be way less pissed about than the actual truth ) and bingo, now she understands why u didn’t just tell her the “truth” to begin with…..she says next time just tell me and I’ll understand….All is forgiven…. Btw I no longer do this and no longer choose to do things I feel the need to lie about in the 1st place. It’s a shitty way to live. Lastly, FYI this tactic does not work if ur a complete dipshit that fking murdered someone and speaking with professional interrogators.
@@pgpro8691 For sure, I think many of us have tried this tactic or something similar at least once for much more minor things like telling your parents you did your homework and when called out saying "ok I didn't, I was actually watching the History channel because I wanted to learn that way and I didn't wanna get in trouble" (but in reality you were just gaming the entire time). But yeah, when you're dealing with professionals who know how to tear that crap apart, you're gonna have a bad time attempting it.
Crazy how a satire film that was making fun of horror clichés actually inspired some kids to recreate the crimes in the film. Like did they not see the irony in that?
It's alarming how they lost themselves in the movie. Look at the relationship between the two boys and compare it to Billy and Stu; you will see striking similarities.
Which is nutty given that mom straight up tried to derail her son's alibi in the interrogation. Feel like the parents are just as sociopathic as the kid.
We might not judge to quick about their parents dealings, inner thoughts, motivations and moral compass. You can't image what they faced when the story unfolds before their eyes. Maybe they are acting on autopilot and are actually emotionally completely shutdown. Maybe they try to support their son because of they feel like they failed as a parent and don't know how to react anymore. Maybe the admission that their son has committed horrible crimes and has a sick fetish connected to it, is something to difficult to face, in the same matter denial is a common reaction when you refuse to accept your beloved one died. I don't believe those parents really believe Cassie is to blame. It's just the only was of justifying the unjustifiable. I don't know - but nor does anyone at this point. I think not even those parents themselves know.
When they were talking about choosing her and then went "Sadly it's our friend... But you know everyone has to make sacrifices". How horrifying to think how casual they consider this. Rest in peace Cassie, I'm so sorry for what happened to you.

you could absolutely tell cassie wasn’t exactly friends friends with them and seemed to just have mutual friends so she tolerated them and their weird shit. i’ve had “friends” like that in high school, they’re super weird and sketchy af but because they’re in the same friend group for some reason and for the most part are outwardly friendly, you just kinda put up with them. even though you don’t really care for them much. that was 100% the vibe that video gave. especially with one of them being obsessed with her, she probably knew that and felt uncomfortable around him/them in general, let alone one of them randomly walking up and filming her at her locker at school asking about weirdo #2. poor thing. 😔

Problem is, it requires a lot of mental effort to keep talking in a way that is “unnatural” to you, and so as he becomes more and more mentally taxed, with lying and keeping his story straight, or creatively thinking up lies on the spot, he has ever less mental capacity available to stop stuttering. I’m pretty surprised that as a person who has overcome stuttering, he wasn’t aware that if he’s questioned for an extended period of time about something that he’s planned to lie about, but met with having to resolve inconsistencies, that he’s going to break into stuttering during crucial times, precisely when he needs to be presenting a composed nature to the police…

they also didn’t let her boyfriend stay with her that night. Must be extremely hard for them to grief over the “what if’s” that could’ve happened if he was there that night. They both might have ended being victims of these 2 absolute idiots. May Cassie Rest In Peace and my her soul haunt them to their never ending painful deaths.
@@miahzzeebest701 It was the boyfriend’s mom who wouldn’t let him stay there, not her parents. And, we can’t know what would have happened if he had stayed obviously, but they might have both been murdered if so. That was the boys original plan.

Well, she offered that idea but Cassie declined because of house sitting. But i guess it wasn't mother's instinct that played here. It's the wheel of destiny that played here
This is the comment that I was looking for.. I can understand 16 year old boys being idiots and thinking they could really outsmart the detectives but are the parents idiots too?!! The one boys parents were IN THE ROOM with him and just let him struggle to hold his lies together... Surely they could tell he was lying.. The fact that nobody thought to stop the interrogation and ask for a lawyer is beyond belief to me.. The boys dad at one point even apologizes to the son saying “I should have spoke to you before.. I didn’t know you were worried about breaking into cars”… GENUIS these cops are here for a MURDER not a damn stolen wallet.. you need to get your child out of that room immediately!!!

@@dominiquexo4772 You must have witnessed neither the Casey Anthony nor the O.J. Simpson trial. Even with plentiful evidence, undeniable killers roam free. Unfortunately, evidence can be explained away by very, very good lawyers and those explanations justified by stupid jurors. Confessions are golden and difficult to refute. Also, they sometimes learn of more evidence, as well as other crimes and/or murders the person may have committed during questioning. This may result in longer sentences for dangerous people, saving living people trapped somewhere, finding remains of long missing victims to bring them home to their loved ones, etc. There are many good reasons for "Americans" (are Americans real?) to question these people beyond finding the first crumbs of evidence.
Whenever I feel stressed about my life, I watch one of these and realize my problems are insignificant. No matter how big I think the issue is, these videos put everything in perspective.
What I can't get over is how terrified Cassie would have been in her final moments. They didn't just attack her. They terrorized her in the lead up. She was alone in a dark house, hearing noises, and they reveled in it before butchering her.
They tried to make a recreation of perfect murder scene from Scream only to leave so much holes and evidences. Guess they can recreated another one at the jail, but this time they're the victim. Hope they washed their butts
The fact that they switched the lights on and off scaring her making noise before they killed her is so horrifying. I can’t imagine the terror of not knowing who or what was there and the lights are flicking then two masked men come in with knives and start viciously stabbing you. I’m sure as they were communicating during the attack as said on the confession taped, she probably recognized their voices and couldn’t believe it was her own “friends” and literally she had done nothing to deserve it. What is so deeply unsettling is in those last moments of Cassie the fear she experienced with the sounds and lights to then realize it was two people she knew and just had been hanging out with 15-30 minutes prior to have a sense of relief to extreme fear realizing it was not just a prank is so heartbreaking. People who were supposedly her friends killed her!! Now i understand why you should NEVER tell anyone including your friends that you’re alone. Absolutely sickening. Prayers for her and her family.
You should also always have an exit plan. Unfortunately its not possible for everyone to own weapons to defend themselves, but flight is often better than fight. Fires, tornadoes, burglars, or would be killers, can all be run from. Plan a route out of your house or any building you're in. Know the exits.
@BurningSaints it was hardly a surprise attack. Those 2 were making noises all night. You're a female at home alone, the lights are flickering when they haven't before and you hear shit downstairs. They announced themselves pretty loudly. That aside, the advice was more for people who are alive to see cases like this. If things feel dodgy, trust your gut. This is lesson learning time.

I'm an attorney who's questioned many, many suspects & witnesses. You don't need to worry about criminals learning to "get away with it" by watching true crime vids. Honestly, human behavior is animalistic & very difficult to control, so we know when people are lying. Plus, advanced law enforcement technology means fewer & fewer crimes like this are going unsolved. In modern cities like NY a person is on camera an average of 33 times on their way to work. Even if rural areas, we can use GPS to track suspects. The type of crimes that do tend to go unsolved are gang drive-bys and such senseless events

“Torrey took notes on how not to get caught while committing a murder” he then proceeds to: •leave fingerprints and footprints at the crime scene with no thought to how they might’ve got there •develop a paper thin cover story that falls apart immediately under any sort of scrutiny •develop a paper thin backup cover story for when the first one falls apart that’s so bad your mom points out the inconsistency during the interrogation •commits the crime with an accomplice that has an insanely obvious stutter when he’s lying •fucking makes a video immediately after the murder admitting to the murder lol
And before the murder describing how they will do it, while listing other potemtial targets...at least billy and stu were smart enough to frame someinelse...
In all fairness a stutter wouldn’t necessarily be looked at as a tell for lying. Whether or not you’re telling a lie being interrogated about a murder would be incredibly stressful and would probably cause him to stutter if he was innocent too.
thats why theory vs execution (no pun intended) are completely different and thank god they're fuking idiots, because intelligent criminals are something you never want to see on your state or even country (like Mr cruel case who was never captured but committed so many horrible crimes because he knew how to not leave any evidence).

@@beenhog6922 people with stammering issues do tend to stammer more when they are nervous or upset

He was actually a bad stutterer as a child and had therapy to control it. But it is not at all unusual for the stutter to come back under extreme stress. Don't get me wrong - it was a cold blooded killing, and he deserves his sentence. But the stutter wasn't made up to get sympathy. If you're guilty of a crime, but especially if you're innocent, first thing out of your mouth in the interrogation room should be "I am exerting my right to an Attorney. I will not answer any questions without a Lawyer present"
Because the same moves of a person with chronic anxiety (me), or fear around police (most people) is also what's used to point to the criminal.

I’m pretty surprised that as a person who has overcome stuttering, he wasn’t aware that if he’s questioned for an extended period of time about something that he’s planned to lie about, but met with having to resolve inconsistencies, that he’s going to break into stuttering during crucial times, precisely when he needs to be presenting a composed nature to the police…

and it's not just in physical sense like physical sterngth like the jocks picking on loners. But even the introverts with psychopathic traits who are ireally nto attaining more knowledge, but never did anythign with their lives. The jocks and the psychopathic introverts will bullied people who are weaker than they are and go on to humiliate them because it gives them their superiority over the person they just trampled on. But of course the introverts psychopathic tendency comes out a lot while online.
@@jasonomnia9295 Great theory but there's no such thing as introverts. Please google "personality tests debunked" for the evidence.
As for the OP, yes it's interesting that these guys are horror movie fans but they were horrible at everything. Few things I get from that. 1. Movies aren't realistic at all. 2. Imagination/empathy isn't realistic at all. 3. Reality is that the first time anyone does something is going to be full of mistakes so just don't ever try to be a criminal or murderer.
I think the parents were pretty awesome though. Impressive.
The mother must have been devastated... Imagine raising an entire human being for 16 years just to find out they would easily end another person with no remorse whatsoever... Absolutely gut wrenching.
"an entire human being"... not really though, seems like the parents missed the psychological part about raising a child...
@@SirHorned19 I highly doubt good parenting would have been able to prevent this kid from murdering. he seems to have the wiring of someone with no capacity for empathy and guilt. Thats something you can't really force or teach to a kid if their nervous system is not wired that way
she wasn't devastated and probably feels his son is innocent. she is as bad as him
@@wellthisisinteresting4912 'Good parenting' entails whatever it takes for your child to not murder someone. This was 100% not a purely physiological disorder. Children are never just born murderers.
I can guarantee you that 'bad parenting' can emotionally stunt a 'normal person' to commit murder.
I would guess that anyone would have acted the same, had they been living his life from the beginning.
@@SirHorned19 eeeeee
Brian doesn’t stutter until he has to lie on the fly. “T-t-t-they s-s-s-sssssaay I-I-I-I-it d-d-d-didn’t happen” it’s so annoying and obvious. Almost as obvious as when he says no I didn’t kill her while nodding his head
I hear him stuttering throughout but you're right, it DEFINITELY gets significantly worse when he's anxious or lying. Super normal for people who stutter to experience that.
It made me so anxious to hear him trying to tell that story like why do criminals live to keep talking, they are told at the very beginning they can ask for a lawyer and stop talking like at that point just shit up my guy idk also why didn’t he just choose a movie he knew? They’re so stupid omg
@@NEKO-mw9id even if you're fully 100% innocent, never ever talk to cops. You're innocent but they just have "a couple questions to ask"? Request a lawyer and don't answer anything. They can talk through the lawyer. They are allowed to lie in the US and use that to convince innocent people they're guilty all the time even if that's not their intention. You're right, these ding dongs should have shut up a long time ago.
L-l-lie o-on tttthe f-f-fly.
It’s like I want to want in the room myself and just be like bro your f-f-fucked! And shut the hell up your a sicko you should have called back in daddy…..an have him lawyer up.
He didn't say "no I didn't kill her"
He said "nnnñnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnooo iiiìiiiiiiii ddddddddidddiiiddddddnnnnntt kkkkkkkkkk it'll hheerrrrr"
“whats the movie about“
“well i know it was about a guy“
Your honor- hes innocent 😭😭😂😂
