I’d call it poetic justice that Sarah was betrayed by two of her closest friends, who were then betrayed by someone they thought they could trust. Huge props to Anthony for doing the right thing and standing up for Sarah. RIP Sarah 🙏

It's not rare for lonely teenage girls to consider relationships with people around them closer than they in fact are. Around of her age I thought that I had closer bond with friends than it was in reality. Most of teenage "friends" move on and won't even recognize you on street years later
Yeah I remember my cousin is the one that got the confession, we used to babysit Liam when he was a kid and his identical twin brother seamus, and I are all still remember her best friend Courtney worked at the pizzeria I worked at and I was working that night I must have passed that bridge about 50 times and saw Sarah's car and I was like why is Sarah's car parked with the hazards on? I knew her car because she would always come into the pizzeria, but this was just like really bizarre seeing her hazards on and the car just sitting there, I mean all night I was like why is it still sitting there? I figured maybe her battery died or something and I was like thinking maybe I should see if she needs help nobody in the car and I was like wow this is bizarre and we find out what happened to her, so many conspiracy theories about her death like her running to Canada and all of this stuff, because she always loved canada, but my cousin did the right thing by getting that confession I'm so proud of him for that❤ that cop the police chief that was caught drunk and belligerent on camera towards his sergeant? That is my cousin lenny, that's the same town this all happened in and the sergeant major that had the body camera on that was recording my cousin being drunk, is also my cousin, it's a really small town over here so a lot of stuff can happen but Sarah's case was probably the most disturbing especially when I babysit Liam and Sarah I would see every other day😢😢 this is so awkward seeing my town that I live in right now all over the Internet like this, I haven't really watched any of these videos because obviously I am a local and I really just feel terrible about what happened to her, I'm just so proud of my cousin anthony, really really proud of him he's a really good kid and ever since he was really little I remember teaching him guitar and everything and then he became a Content creator, short horror films Etc comma this was a really really really hard thing to process I can never forget it

A lot more people would come forward if they weren't so scared of cops. Thankfully they figured it out on their own eventually, but they'd know a lot more if they weren't out to fuck everyone

This girl was a nutcase. The fact she threatened to kill herself over one of her friends girlfriends is the most pathetic thing I’ve ever heard personally. Something was seriously mentally f’d up with this girl…she wasn’t just some innocent sweetheart like all the simps in this comment section want to believe. I used to know girls like this… they’re always crazy. They’re parasocially obsessed with UA-camrs (and her friends gf’s in this case as well), they are usually narcissistic and mentally screwed theater kids that think their sh*t doesn’t stink, but at the same time will threaten to harm themselves for attention. Everyone in this case, from the victim, the officers, to the suspects, all just seem like the worst kinds of people.

I have heard several times that trash talking a victim is one of the signs interrogators look for in rape crimes investigations because the perpetrator goes over the top insulting victims where innocent people don't say much.
I mean, he's 100% right with that statement. Most people have useless ''tough'' dogs like Pit Bulls, German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Dobermans... You name it. You get what you buy. If you want REAL protection, buy a REAL dog... You would have to stab or shoot my persian mastiff and my CAO until they stopped moving because they would not stop mauling you until you killed them. If you are getting murdered and your dog is fucking watching you get killed you have wrong dog breed my guy... The killer is 100% right with that one...
Yeah absolutely. But think about it; if someone is evil enough to murder their childhood friend in cold blood, then trashing her to detectives afterwards to save himself is really nothing to the person. This is the kind of person you really have to be careful with, and it's sadly why I tend to not trust in people 100%. You just never know who's a psychopath that will befriend you, make you feel comfortable with them, and when you least expect it, do something terrible to you. It sucks because I'm the kind of person that thinks that people do bad things, but they're good deep down. Not people like this guy. This is evil incarnate right there, and they can hide it so well.

This is definitely not Sarah’s fault, but a good reminder to everyone: NEVER brag about getting large chunks of cash, even to friends and family members. It’s on a need-to-know basis only.

The undercover friend in the car was a brave man. That last second where the murderer walked back to the car because he thought he lost his keys was eerie. The friend must have thought he might be returning to kill him.

100%. 12 years ago I got that knock at the door from the cops. They were vaguely asking odd questions about my housemate, who I'd last seen the previous afternoon when he left for work. They came to my door three times asking questions without telling me what was going on, and thats literally all I was asking nonstopuntil they told me he'd been found dead.

wow, it's amazing how a man who's never been trained in interrogation got a confession out of him just by asking what happened, was able to get all the details without it looking suspicious, and never gave away it was being recorded. meanwhile every cop and detective in this case seemed to be determined to get as little information as possible and fuck everything up for themselves.

His story played right into the stereotypes most people who become cops have. You can even hear it in the things they say in the bodycams and interrogation footage. They filed her away in their heads as "one of these weirdo internet nerds" and all their ridiculous Boomer type ideas like they're asking about livesteram drug parties as if they think that's actually a thing.

Think about this. The guy that murdered her said in the very beginning “I made it seem like we were better friends than we actually were so they wouldn’t question my behavior with her” and yet the “friend” recording got the murder to believe they were close enough for him to think “Hey I can tell him I murdered someone and he won’t report me in”.

Liam told the guy recording him that he was planning it long before he did it. So the guy knew already. Everyone is so quick to pat the guy who recorded him on the back but he didn't tell the cops until months later that Liam had told him he was going to kill her.
I absolutely love when you call out the professionals for their mistakes. It honestly tells how some cases could be unsolved from professionals not doing their job correctly.
Hindsight is 20/20. It makes it so much easier to call out things officers were supposed to see or do.

I immediately thought that it’s sad that with no one home, Sarah and dad gone, how long did that poor baby stay there alone, hungry, thirsty, needing to do his business and was scared I’m sure. Too sad.
Her dying Mother left her the money so she would be taken care of, then her daughter is killed over having that same money. Sarah told her so called childhood friend about the money in confidence, then he turned into a monster. She knew him since 1st grade... you think you know somebody...you really don't. That's frightening!

I love it that this channel called out these police officers for their unprofessional and incompetent behavior from the jump. It was almost cringe worthy watching how incompetent they were. Completely in over their head.
Agreed. And the way they spoke to Liam, they way they spoke about Sarah... just really making it hard to find something redeemable here. It's okay to be bad at your job - so long as your job doesn't deal with life or death matters, public safety, etc.

Cops are like it is in every other job. You have some Cops who are incompetent, some are average and some are very good Cops. The good news is that Cops can screw up and screw up, but the Guilty Parties only have to make ONE mistake and they are busted.

I kinda understand why the detective was so unprofessional. They didn't have any evidence that a homicide was committed and cases like that usually end in finding out that the missing person had committed suicide, had an accident or had run away on his/her own will.
But still the officer should have kept an open mind and, as harsh as it sounds, treated everyone as a potential murderer until they're cleared out.

I live in ocean grove, Neptune township I know all of these police, city and township belmar ,wall,abd manasquan as well. Some are tough and some have a bug up their ass but they’re all good people.
Plus this doesn’t happen around here, there’s are shootings in Neptune city in the hoody parts but stuff like this doesn’t happen around here.
There was a police officer Phil Sidelle ,did some crazy shit in Neptune city, I didn’t know this cop but he deserves to rot in hell for what he did.
The fact that Liam referred to this as a “heist” to his friend (the one who filmed), just shows how he probably fantasized about this as if it was some kind action movie. He didn’t see it as murdering his innocent friend and stealing everything she had, he saw it as a “heist”. It’s fucking disgusting.
I took it as him downplaying what he did to her. He didn’t see a friend. Even the way he speaks of her to investigators shows his complete lack of empathy. Calling her a lesbian, depressed, suicidal, tomboyish and saying she had no friends other than him and other guys. Almost like he was trying to call her a loser or see her as lesser than. Justifying his murder in some twisted way.

I know right. What a fuckin hero. He was interviewed by police the first week of December when she went missing and didn't tell cops until January 24th that Liam had told him he was going to kill her during Thanksgiving a few weeks before he killed her.
He only came forward because he thought they were going to kill him. So fuckin brave.

When describing Sarah at the beginning and her art being shown, I recognized her art at 1:47 as being from a screencap from season 2 of Carmilla -- a webseries I absolutely love. Knowing this...my heart sank. I used to be very active in this community and may have come across this art years and years ago, back when the show was on. Knowing she was a Creampuff as well... (the name for the fandom) it truly breaks my heart. Rest in Peace, Sarah. I won't forget you.
UPDATE: Oh, God. She's even dressed as Carmilla for vidcon 2016. I owned the same box she's holding and even had the same cosplay for my own halloween, in 2017. I also saw Grace, Mamrie, and Hannah live years ago. This hits so close to home for me. It makes me wonder if I've even met people that knew her, as this is a small community. I know how you feel. Several years ago in my country, there was this big murder case that's now refered to as the Pokemon Murder. The young woman who was murdered was very active in the geek community in our small country and I had interacted with her on FB groups. However, when the whole thing was still being investigated, I didn't realize it was her, because she was active on FB under the name Bobbi Morse and her profile pic was her in Mockingbird cosplay. This was because Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird and Clint Barton/Hawkeye were her favorite Marvel characters. I only realized the victim was her when a picture of her in her Mockingbird cosplay circulated in the media. This happened 7 years ago and I still have a Mockingbird action figure up on my shelf in honour of her.

Once the police are talking to you about a crime - especially if they’re talking to you as one of the suspects - they’re not your friends. No matter how much they might try and seem like you are, no matter how much you’ve been told to co-operate with them. They aren’t interested in helping you to prove that you’re innocent, they’re not interested in helping you clear up an innocent misunderstanding - that’s not their job, their job is to solve the case and hand it over to the prosecutors and if it’s really easy to just say “hey, we think Bob did it” and not look at other options?They’re going to charge Bob and declare the case closed.
Your lawyer’s job is to make sure that you don’t mis-speak or try to answer questions where you don’t remember the answer or aren’t sure what you’re being asked about. They’re there to make sure you’re not trying to clear up “simple misunderstandings”, and they’re there to make sure that the police and the prosecutor are doing their jobs and actually prove that you’re the best suspect for the crime.

I disagree with the assessment. Giving casual report makes people more willing to go in to the station to give a formal interview easier. And if kids are worried that they are talking to a cop when they mention underage alcohol or illegal substance use, they won’t be cooperative unless the cop basically says “I’m cool don’t worry about it.” The analysis is coming from a really removed perspective. Even the leading questions that he said “yeah” yo can be challenged later since passive interaction isn’t something he’s going to remember later, but it does instill a sense of overconfidence in the suspect. Also during a missing persons search, little clues are more important to finding someone that may still be alive than making sure you treat everyone like a murder suspect.
Liam’s first contact with the police was really telling to me. He didn’t seem the least bit concerned about her and he had an answer for everything. He conveniently lost his phone, “grandmas sick” he was more worried about getting a story out.

I find it much harder to listen to what they did to somebody who's not only an abstract 'victim' but an actual person in my head. The casual way they describe how she was slowly killed over half an hour and then basically treated like a bag of trash made me literally feel sick to my stomach. And normally I'm someone who can watch the goriest horror movies or something isis decapitation videos without batting an eye. But hearing those details about her reminds me of people i actually know and love. And I cant watch this without imagining them being in this situation, which is simply horrifying.

I actually dislike that aspect of this one. Prior to the interrogation room the narrator 'critiques' the detectives so many times it is irritating, imo. It isnt subtle at all, its overt. Its done more than half the narration in the first half of the video. It might be because of when this one was made, two years ago is a long time... The more recent videos do more appropriate levels of criticism of the detectives.

I think I've watched nearly every video on this channel and out of all the killers Liam is one of the most terrifying. Simply because of how convincingly normal and honest he appears. Liam really thought he could fool everybody into thinking he’s a good guy. One clue the police noticed was Liam nodding his head in agreement to everything they said. That was a sign of guilt.
No offense, but that's why you, and the cops and detectives in this case shouldn't be in law enforcement lol. From the moment they met Liam at his house for the first time, he was incredibly suspicious. It's almost like they did everything in their power to purposely throw and cover up the case, a civilian off the street would've done a better job interrogating them.

This teenager that got this psycho on camera is amazing. The smarts and guts he had to not only record the guy but he came forward. He was cool and calm enough to not act different for his friend to just vomit this terrifying thing he did that he's describing like it was a fun night out is amazing. If you're going to do something this disturbing you don't tell ANYONE. If anyone else knows they are a liability and they have to go too. These two little degenerates are completely regarded and I'm not saying I wish they had gotten away with it I'm glad they got caught I just wish they would've gotten the D3@th Penalty instead of us Tax Payers having to pay an insane amount of money to keep them incarcerated for decades. I had an associate that convinced a female he knew to set up two individuals that she knew that sold drugs to her. She set everything up for him and some wild teenage gang members he had hired to rob these two drug dealers (one of which I had known since I was like 11) in order to procure more money for my associates drug business while simultaneously hindering the competition. From what I was told it was just supposed to be a robbery. They showed up at about 3 AM dressed to resemble narcotics agents/swat. They split up in two groups each group went to a door they banged on the doors and announced themselves as police. By the time the two individuals realized it wasn't the police the group were inside the house. One of the wild young boys $h0+ both men, for what reason I've never been told. At that point all 6 members of this squad agreed to $h00+ both men so everyone was equally as guilty. My associate had agreed to pay the girl that set this all up $1000 for her trouble but she had been told no one would be hurt. They went back to her house after they took everything of value from the home; money, drugs, jewelry, guns, etc. My associate handed the girl $500 and told her not to tell a soul anything. He didn't mention anything about the two men being room temperature. This girl had a female friend there at the house with her. The squad leaves not long after the girl is paid. The next morning the double homicide is all over the news (where we live is kind of rural, small mostly quiet towns so this was a BIG story) the girl and her friend find out and freak TF out because this was all pretty much their fault. About a week or two later Homicide Detectives pay the girl a visit seeing as her phone number was the last call the one guy had ever answered, less than an hour before his un-aliving. She tries to lie at first but when the cops applied the slightest bit of pressure she sang like a canary. Instead of immediately arresting my associate they turned it into an 18 month long investigation involving wire taps, surveillance, video recording, and Confidential Informants (snitches). This ended up with them indicting 35 people (myself included) on a wide range of charges all the way from purchasing stolen goods, to dealing narcotics (most of us including myself were charged for dealing) all the way to home invasions and Homicide. They were able to do all this by accusing us of operating a "continuous criminal enterprise". Anyways, I said ALL OF THAT to say, none of us would have been hemmed up like that if they would've just used their fu©k¡πg brains and $m0k€d those two b®0@d$ instead of handing them $500 and saying "don't say nothing to anyone" *ESPECIALLY* since he didn't warn them ahead of time about un-aliving the two dudes she set up. All he had to do was tie up the loose ends/only witnesses and he and his young boys from Philly and New Jersey wouldn't be serving life in prison and the other 29 of us wouldn't have gotten jammed up behind his/their BS!

Ending someone's life over money, just so you can get messed up on drugs and party it up...what a piece of trash. The fact it took over half an hour to kill her is one of the most disturbing things, I can't imagine what was going on in her mind, probably felt like an eternity. @@kodymeyers9126 he mentioned her releiving her bladder and having convultions, he said he choked her from behind. most likely was a rear naked choke, the purpose being cutting off the blood flow to the brain via several major arteries in the neck. when you loose consciousness this way it is common to see things in quick flashes and although you cannot feel or realize it those quick flashes are you body jerking or convulsing. ive seen and experienced this myself. she was unconcious but still breathing he also mentioned he stuffed a rag down her throat probly to stop her from breathing this likely caused her to vomit.

Imagine then, them dealing with high profile people. It's no surprise money buys their way out. Such as OJ and some could say Johnny Depp (in the sense people absolutely overlooked his role and only blamed Amber even though they abused each other). At the end of the day, detectives are regular people like anyone else meaning some will be exceptional but not all.

The most tragic thing is that the mom left that money because she wanted to give her daughter a good life and the money ended up being why she was killed :( That breaks my heart. Not that it's the mom's fault.... the murderer is solely to blame. It's just very sad.

Yes this is a really good point. Also deposit it at a bank ASAP. Even if the bills are old and beat up the bank can send them to the Treasury Dept and they will replace the bills. Might not have access to that money until after Treasury has assessed and replaced them, but they'll be safe and not accessible to someone trying to steal them. Plus the new bills will have tracible serial numbers.

It’s psychological justification when a predator degrades their victim. They tell themselves that they killed, hurt, scammed, whatever a bad person because it justified their actions to themselves, and whoever they can convince. It’s a lot less easy to say to themselves “I did this because I’m a remorseless greedy monster.”
I watched a lot of these interrogations and these were by far the worst detectives I've ever seen. The inability to press on inconsistencies in both Liam and Preston's stories was extremely irritating. Thank God someone did all of the police work by getting a confession or this case may never have been solved.
If Liam's New York "friend" hadn't come to them to deliver Liam on a platter, this case would likely still be cold.

@@kwiz3502 Lol no kidding! I used to edit skate and BMX videos, and our general rule of thumb was always that 1 minute of finalized video would take about an hour to edit. So a 10 minute video, was 10 hours of editing. If you use that scale here, that's AT LEAST 187 hours of editing.. and that's not including all the research or voice over work. Anyone who has done an ounce of video editing can really appreciate all the work that's put into these super high quality and professional videos.

See I think it's rather the opposite. There are times the narrator says the detectives should have done this or that and then later on, when the detectives do ask then it was like oh they should have done that sooner. How exactly is that a mistake or error? Seems like a lot of the corrections directed at the police are more like suggestions then actual mistakes.

In the case of my brothers kidnapping, robbery, murder, desecrations of a corpse, premeditated robbery including a weapon, possible racism that's when the FBI got involved as my brother was part indigenous American although he was highly educated and was working at a salvation army halfway house for ex-cons the FBI thought maybe these men who kidnapped him possibly thought he had money. He did not. My brother was dying from what they call adult shaken baby syndrome.
Even though he had put himself through college earning two bachelor's degrees in pre-med science earning a full scholarship to med school it was all denied him due to the injuries he was dying from. He lived and the basement of a large mansion in a small apartment as a light caretaker. The kidnappers misunderstood when they gave him rides from the shelter and thought he must live in that big house. Instead of listening to the rest of our adoptive family who loved him adored him and swore that he would never walk off into a freezing cold winter night committing suicide.
Sadly, the police officers listen to our horrible abusive adopted mother who'd caused his injuries. She said oh! My son was suicidal.
My brother was not suicidal a day in his life. If anything he would have waited until after Christmas day as the whole family was planning on this last Christmas with them no matter what they were all trying to make it to see him one last time at Christmas from as far away as Minnesota to the West Coast to see him. Except for her & my father who had not planned on going 2,000 miles to the family get-together .
No-one had invited them or informed them of getting together to spend one last Christmas with their beloved adopted grandson nephew uncle cousin etc. He was well liked in the community. Everyone was disturbed at the way our adoptive mother was talking about him. Our father never raised his voice to stop her just like he never raised his hand either to stop the abuse.
Sadly the police believed everything she said, instead of what even I his own birth sister raised with him said. Years later I spoke to a police officer who had inherited the case. He stated he knew there were mistakes.
The previous officers had relied too much on our mother's interview, instead of the people who knew him closest. Those who'd been around him for the last 15 years of his life. This man still held out hope that my brother was still alive but everyone in the family including members of the family that had cared about him where he died knew he was dead. The killer had even bragged!
Unfortunately he bragged in the sheriff's jail. In the same county that my brother lived and many of his close friends & relatives worked for the sheriff's department.
Twenty years after his disappearance I wanted to open the case again and my aunt a big me not to. She let me know with fear in her eyes that the man everyone knew responsible for my brother's death wouldn't be found alive on the face of this Earth. I would be opening a painful wound.
From that moment on I have accepted sometimes the police just can't do it right because people with big mouths, thinking they're helping, that say oh the person was depressed, the person was this, the person was that, muddy the investigation to the point the police have no way to find a point to start from. Now I try to withhold as far as an opinion until the end of the show has been done and the facts have been presented.
I think we have to remember sometimes that police are human and they're coming into an investigation knowing nothing of the person's personal life.
No doubt! I felt like the narrator was inside my head! Every time a leading or closed-ended question was asked, and at several points where they were trying to ‘buddy up’, I thought how horrible a job they were doing…then the narrator said same. Lol
It shocks me that you can think you know a person (or persons) that you’ve spent your entire childhood with, and never really know them. It’s shocking how some people feel nothing. It’s also shocking that these narcissists and psychopaths walk among us and we don’t even know they’re there, and unbelievable that there would be two such people in a persons close knit friend base.
