777 Boeing - Takeoff Take off The MOST POWERFUL + LOUD - AA LHR to ORD - SPEAKERS ON MAX!

  • ...WATCH THE WHOLE VIDEO!...especially at 8:30 and the TAKEOFF. Another First Class video - ALL THE WAY! American Airlines Flight 99 - London Heathrow (LHR) to Chicago (ORD). Commander is Captain (Mrs.) Fitzsimmons - a very senior and well respected Pilot at American Airlines and one of the Top 25 in the skies today - worldwide! This video is awesome, loud and has very powerful engines + sound throughout the whole video...watch the whole movie as we power up and down throughout the 10 minutes...I had a hard time holding the camera still as I was sucked back into the massive First Class seat!
This was probably THE MOST POWERFUL TAKEOFF I have ever experienced as a passenger. Although not a full PAX payload, we were at MTOW (Maximum Take Off Weight) in part due to a full cargo load. Watch as Captain Fitzsimmons "blasts" off and takes us through the clouds above London towards Chicago (make sure to see the landing too). You can see the engine sucking in half of the air in England and the leading edge of the wing slicing it as we lift off. We made three climbs in between the clouds as she (Cap. Fitzsimmons) masterfully and smoothly took this awesome 777-200 to Flight Level 380 (38,000 Feet) cruising altitude. You can hear the Trents whine, growl as we go up and up and then go almost silent ...
Please enjoy. Smart comments only! (My apologies for the spec of dirt on the window.) Make sure to see the landing and my other take off videos!

I've flown most planes and the 777 is by far my favorite. It makes more trust than a quad engine 747 or the airbus a340. The GE90 is truly a masterpiece of an engine.

Do you have any idea how aircraft work? Commercial airliners use de rated power on takeoff the preserve the life of the engines. Very few, if any, airliners use full throttle on takeoff. Your general aviation prop plane will but not your 35 million dollar airliner.

This is a machine that can really kick ass. It has the most powerful engines on a passenger plane, at over 120, 000 pounds of thrust both the GE and the Rolls Royce versions will give you an unique experience as they roar into the skies. Simply the triple 7 has the best sound of any pas. plane, period. And to think that any one of the engines by itself can easily take this bird no matter the payload. I wish someday to travel in one of these. Great video.

It's always jaw dropping ... riding like a V8 engine car.
Although GE90-115B fans said that it's the strongest in the world than the Rolls Royce Trent 800 series by two times of the thrust, yes..that's the fact , but yet, music is not good as Rolls Royce Trent 800 series. Trent produces the sound that nobody done before , that roaring , that raging pushing power , that tune is simply most powerful ever ~ !

What I think is amazing that these newer aircraft like the 787 and the 747 - 8 are no longer "hunks of metal." They are now carbon fiber aircraft. There are video on how they fashion the whole fuselage with strips of carbon fiber tape and then they put the whole frame into a giant oven to bake the carbon fiber. Incredible!

In the 100's of thousands of views and comments I have had, you are the first person to actually point this out. Thanks!
You are TOTALLY correct - they are dead silent cruising altitude (when cruising). It is like a massive V8 engine rumbling along at 80mph at 1750 RPM (like a Corvette). On the other hand, when you stomp the gas in a V8, like a Corvette, the RR Trent 800's will roar!

I saw nothing wrong with his comment, and was surprised he got hammered on for it (considering the magnitude of ignorance found all over UA-cam). Although I have to say I disagree with him. Every engine has a certain kind of beauty to their sound, and considering their immense power, one can only hold them in the highest regard. Likewise, I respect TheE's opinion as well, though I disagree, and to you I say thanks for sharing such a magnificent experience with us! :)

Awesome video and great take-off out of LHR. I have never experienced one like that with the increase/decreasing of the throttles at the different climb stages...most of the time I've flown out of LHR we have just continuously climbed up to our altitude, but that was pretty interesting to see!
I do agree with some other posters that 100% power is rarely used on take-off unless fully loaded, but by the sound of those trents, I'd say it was pretty close to it!! Great video anyway.

It's air with water droplets in it (same as a cloud or fog.)
In this video, the relative humidity was obviously high, meaning the air was holding almost as much water vapor as it is able to hold. It's invisible, but it's definitely there.
When the air pressure is reduced (as it is right in front of a jet engine or as the air speeds up to go over the wing), the air right there is not able to hold as much water, so the water condenses into droplets, which you can see as a cloud.
