I'm new to your channel and I appreciate what you're bringing to your viewers. I love Rottweilers plan to own in the near future. Lastly will you be breeding yours?
This is one of the best puppy preparation videos that I have seen. Why? Because you show hands-on what you need and why. Very well explained and presented. Really appreciated.
Want to get a Rottweiler puppy & this helped a lot, could you do a few videos on everything you think you should know before getting a puppy? How to toilet train him, train him in general, leave him by himself for periods of time, leave him in his crate overnight etc. Would be highly appreciated
I'm not getting a crate its going to be a open cage that I'll build one side for the dog bed and one side for there potty if accidents happen when sleeping I will clean it up and train them out side cuz its important and Rottweilers need positive training and a strong pack leader that gives good guidance ...😸👍
How about a runner in case you wanna put the dog out in the sun for a little while while you do maybe mopping or sweeping at the floors or whatever keep your dog inside but don’t let him run so you have a runner so that it can only go so far on leash or a dog house I’m even looking into a doggy swimming pool for my Rottweiler
My Rottweiler until it’s able to walk with me off leafs will be on a runner whether I’m inside or out because there’s no way I’d be able to get a hold of him if he got loose I am also getting a doggy swimming pool for him for the summers and having a dog house built as well
I have a question, do you have any tips on how to get your rottweiler puppy to walk with a leash on? My puppy when I put the leash on will sit there then and just look at me and when I take it off then he walks. Also any tips on how to train to not bite?
I experienced the same! I used repetition & treats. I would hold the leash up & ask if she wanted to go outside with a treat in my hand. I would keep a spare treat in my pocket, & use it to reward her for walking back into the house on her own. It took about 3 solid days, of doing this about every 2 hours, but it worked! Now all I have to do is pick up the leash. I still reward after her coming back home by herself - as she will soon be bigger than I am 😂
As for biting or nipping, try to turn away and scold simultaneously for this, while offering high praise and treats for sitting and licking. Some respond very well to gentle pressure at their sides as well when worked up. It's hard when they're teething, you want to stay headstrong while still being a good dog mom lol.
Im a pretty laid back person and wanted to get this dog as a guard dog/best friend and am going to get a Rotty. I'm trying to decide to get either a female or a male. Which would you recommend as a first time owner?
Keep in mind a big male with a big personality will test you like no other dog when he hits his adolescence. If you don't give them plenty of exercise they will literally eat your house nothing more destructive then a bored Rottweiler. I always suggest for a first time owners that wants to start with a powerful breed to go for a Bully breed there more relax. As a rule Rottweiler are high energy. You need a good trainer that knows the breed if you get one. Just my take on it after a few decades of owning them
@@josephgodin2260 I wouldn't be able to handle one with a big personality. How about a first time dog owner getting one that doesn't have a big personality?
@Monica Soto, I am not an expert, but; I believe that you should reconsider your breed choice. A Rottweiler is a lot of dog for people without special needs. The Rottie needs a lot of training and socialization for anyone and if they feel that they can get over on you, they will be alpha. Heck, any dog will try to be alpha, if he/she feels like it can. I would look into another breed. Good luck to you!
I'll never understand why people still use choke chains on rotties or other bully breeds, imo there barbaric and then can do alot better with just a normal collar or harness
You don’t want to use that big chain and chocker collar. That chain is ridiculous. Train your dog so they don’t pull. I can walk my dog on a thin piece of string because she’s trained. That big chain looks stupid.

how's it going?

how is it doing

The divider help prevent puppies from relieving themselves while crated. They are less likely to go if they have to lay in it after.
That’s why you need that divider in there. It’s to much space. To each it’s own
Thanks! being prepared shows love and bodes well for success with your dog! I appreciate you taking the time and effort!
Appreciate you for adding to the community!!
Do you have any Rott puppies for sale? Or know where to get a really handsome one?
You can buy baby blankets at resale shops. They work great.
Thanks for the suggestion!!
Thank you. Very helpful and useful.

Can you leave the link for that last heavy chain leash?
That’s y ppl say separate the crate with a rolled towel. They won’t pee where they sleep. Most won’t. If I’m wrong somebody please tell me.

females are more protective due to their mother instinct
Get both than when get both choose with u like best if y like female keep that if u like male keep that

In the book the ultimate Rottweiler by Andrew brace, the advice is to have a bitch if it is your first time in owning a Rottweiler. All the best
Hey are you guys really located in Philly?? I’m In the area and looking to purchase a new puppy
I’m trying to get a Rottweiler puppy for my daughter she has special needs
choose another breed
i think you might wanna consider getting a golden doodle or a breed like that the rottweiler may not be for you
Rottweilers can be Great service dogs if trained just be warned you need to train them like any other dog
It all depends on her needs but a trained Rottweiler service dog will be best.
