    I’ve owned Rottweiler for over 30 years and I’ve always crate trained my dogs, when I’m not home their in the crates and also sleep in their crates. To me I feel them being safe in the crate when I’m not home and never had a problem

    Great video. I’ve always done this with dogs. You can’t give them full reign of the house straight away. It’s an animal at the end of the day. 👊🏼🚨👊🏼🚨👊🏼

    I have horses and I train for team roping and/or ranch work. Even tho im very confident training an animal, these videos are a good reminder than im doing a good job. Domestic animals (IMO), think similar. I like these vidoes cause i feel confident after watching because i am already implementing these training habits. If you are a country person you will appreciate these videos. I believe in not ever getting and large or medium breed and/or high energy dog if you do not own the property or have the ability to sustain the requirements of these pets. Rottweilers and other protective breeds are and were always bred for people living outside of city limits

      Also positive reinforcement and trust goes a lot further than anything else

    How long do you find your dog’s have taken for you to feel you can trust them? I know all dogs are different but how many months before you gave them room freedom? Would love to hear.

    how do you find this flows with your puppy crate video where you mention not locking the puppy in for a few days at least until that positive attitude can be introduced ?

    Awesome video thank you! So adding to the conversation what would your recommendations be if you wanted your rottie to be an outside dog from the very beginning?

      Don’t get a Rottweiler

    • @1packatak
      @1packatak 3 роки тому +1

      Yep. Don’t get a Rottweiler.
      They are dogs that need their humans. They want to work with their humans. They thrive on the leadership of their humans. Left to their own devices, they will likely become difficult to deal with if not outright aggressive. And while they are protective, if you need security get a security system. Or a professionally trained and certified protection dog. Which should set you back anywhere from $20,,000 and up.
      If you want an outside dog, get. Great Pyrenees or similar dog.

    I know this question has nothing to do with this video but I was wondering how old should a rottweiler be before u breed her? I'm asking cause a friend of mine dog just had her first litter but they all died but 1 the dog is 9 months old

    • @dangerousliberty

      I'm no expert but from what I've read breeding under 2 years can be harmful to the mothers long term health .

    • @tylerjb3
      @tylerjb3 2 роки тому

      That’s WAYYY too the young female needs to be fully developed. The vet recommended at least 2 years. That’s very harmful to the young mother and also lends to over breeding and weak bloodlines and health issues.

    Question can a 13 year old handle a Rottweiler

    • @tylerjb3
      @tylerjb3 2 роки тому

      I wouldn’t recommend letting them handle it solo. These dogs are extremely powerful and have explosive strength. Im almost 29 I have a 8 year old male rottie that’s right in the middle of the weight range for males (just under 110 pounds) so by no means a massive rottie but if he gets worked up or in a confrontation of any sort it takes almost everything I have anchoring myself down to keep him under control. A teenager would most likely be going for a hell of a ride and not a very nice one if one of these animals really wants to pull. After all they were made to pull large carts of butchered meat. What’s heavier hundreds of pounds of beef on a wooden cart. Or maybe 100 pound teenager?
