Rottweilers are such an amazing addition to your family but I completely agree they require a lot of training but if you Commit to that training you will have the best family dog and companion that you can ask for. Merry Christmas to you too and thanks for all the great advice! It’s amazing how you can find time to spread education and awareness about how good these boys can be. Thanks for that, really. I hope the channel grows even more so more people can learn about lovely rottweilers and how to become a better pack leader!
I have 2 Rottweiler puppies Maximus and Lilly. Right now we’re working on house breaking. They’ve got sit down really well. I appreciate the advice on biting because Lilly can bite a lot more than Maximus. We have been saying no and then giving toy instead but I’m going to try your advice from now on. Thank you
I am so happy I found The Rotty Channel! My husband just got a Rott/Lab mix. My Chocolate Lab passed in July and I am pretty good at recognizing and Lab behavior. However, rotty behavior is completely new to both of us and it has been a challenge to train our 2 month old 🐶. Your points are amazing and will begin with correcting the nipping and biting.
Again, excellent video and spot on advice! I’m so very grateful for the proper education you’re giving to the Rottie lovers of the world. Also, these tips and educational training videos work for all our breeds that are considered “aggressive”, and much of what you teach about training is applicable to all breeds because they alll need a good leader with proper, healthy boundaries to have an amazing forever relationship with their dogs. Thank you for taking time to reach so many people about our beloved breed, Rottweilers. 🙏💜👍
There all so beautiful those babies of yours. Don’t all puppies bite? they love you look at them hanging on every word you say. That’s just such devotion.
Hi Colin, I just got my first rotty puppy last week and she is 9-10 weeks old. She has started biting and I have tried the "no", redirecting etc. but many times she seems to increase the intensity of biting and i have had to put her into her crate until she calms down. She is very smart when doing training sit, down, crawl, up, etc. But the biting I am concerned about. I cannot take her out for walks on the street until she has her 2nd shots so we are restricted to our yard. I would love to hear some suggestions you may have.
My first time training a puppy he's rottweiler pit bull terrier mix definitely underestimated the process these videos help me out a lot he's doing good just the play biting right now and I have kids so I have to get that corrected.. appreciate the videos and excellent advice
My Rottweiler play bites! I personally don't like it.. this was actually helpful! I'm happy that I didn't start too late.. He's turning 1 at the end of July
Many of the tips you use for Rotweillers is the same guidance/discipline that we use for Children. Rottweillers are very intelligent, similar to humans but no speech. The higher the intelligence the greater the reward but the more work. Ignoring unwanted behavior and rewarding wanted behavior is key but it is all about Relationship, building a close relationship of love and respect through time and physical exchange. It is my hope and prayer people will recognize this for the human child as well and will consider investing their hearts on one.
Just found your channel and I absolutely love it! I just tried these techniques on my 9 week old Rottweiler puppy and she doesn’t pause at all when I make myself big and firmly say no. I’ve even helped like another puppy would. She just continues to bite. I know consistency is key but any tips if she continues to ignore me? I’m trying to stay calm when she continues to bite but I’m sure she can sense my frustration.
I have the same issue, my pup is 10weeks. He sometimes stops when I say no and lays down but when walking, he constantly is trying to bite my shoes😑 need tips too lol
I have a 14months Rottie girl and it’s taken me almost a year for her to stop biting me, however she is still biting my family members when she gets excited because they haven’t had time to train her with her. Like he said in the video it’s gonna take a lot of time and patience. You can’t expect your dog to stop biting straight away. With most dogs it’s not gonna work only after a few weeks, it’ll only slowly start working and keep getting better if you are constant with the training. No matter how busy I am I must remind myself this.
Training my 9 week old rotty. Shes doing exceptional at almost everything. Considering she can't go outside yet, we have her potty training on a pad on the balcony which shes chosen to do a couple times. What would be your suggestions for the seperation anxiety? that seems to be the only thing she's completely fussy on. Granted i know this isn't a quick fix, and i've only had her 4 days and shes already sitting and laying down on command so i know shes smart.
Just leave them alone for small periods in “puppy proof” room and or crate if crate trained and come back slowly increasing the time away. This will build trust that you will always come back. don’t make a big deal out of it when leaving or coming back so she starts seeing it as a normal thing that can happen at times. and wait till she stops whining before re entering the room so she learns whining doesn’t do anything. Rotties are strong minded confident dogs they can be left alone for periods fine if trained right. Don’t worry she will be fine!
Hey, thanks for the video(s). We used your channel a lot prior to getting a rottie and now still using it for hints and tips. The biting we slowly get under control, she is 12 weeks now and still play biting a little. Working on that and leash training at the moment. I have the issue however that she seems to be very attached, and has better recall and obedience with me, than she does with my partner. And he is getting really discouraged and jealous. Do you have any bonding tips which may make her more comfortable hanging out with him on their own, even if I am in the next room? Thank you (and I hope that this is not a strange question). Happy holidays to you and your family.
Time, and patience. Kita was this way with me, make sure that partner is going out of their way to show her attention. Also I would close the door to my office and hang out with her, eventually I became her favorite human
Great vid mate and helpful-I’ve just got a 8 week Ger Rotty-very good temperament girl. What advise would you give to me for crate training for bed time ? She likes to whine and howl when she’s in the cage.

Hello and good day, I just picked up 2 rotties .... brother & sister which are 2 months old. They are total goofballs and compliment one another. I have a few questions that pertain to biting and a few other questions. Your videos are phenomenal. Question 1 - what is your method to stop 2 month old rotties to quit biting me ? I understand they are excited and are full of energy. Question 2 - To start training these little guys what is your method ? I would assume one at a time but if you put one in there pen / kennel they will think they are in time out and will think everytime they are put in there they are being punished.... dont want that to happen as i want them to feel that is there domain. question 3 - they pplay pretty rough with one another and the biting on one another makes me wonder is this a play thing / a dominance thing and will this progress into a aggressive issue in years to come ? I can assume its a play thing at this time as they have so much energy . Its been many years since i have had to deal with the puppy stage as it seemed like i was always rescuing adults dogs. I did have a female rottie that i had to put down this last november due to hip dysplasia. She was the best dog i had and didnt rally have to train her as we had a great bond when we met as she was a rescue. Sorry for the long post but after watching some other videos from other people on rotties i found you guys were the best to ask for answers. Thank you for your time and keep up with the great videos.
Hi I am loving and needing this channel right now as I am attempting to raise a very rough.. biting.. hyperactive 8 week old rotty male named Clyde. Any tips for leash/ harbess training. The quicker I get him out and about out the more peace my senior rotty girl will get (hopefully)
Great channel ,I have been watching your videos for a few weeks now .I'm looking forward, to learning as much as I can from your channel .I brought home our first Rotti today . Do you have any tips, on how I can properly introduce the rotti to our boxer puppy ?
My puppy Rottweiler is learning fast walks commands but her potty training still needs a lot of work and the bitting its a hassle 😅 great video though learn a lot!
Hi, Collin. I am wirting from Brazil. Have just gotten a half bred rottweiller-dobberman puppy that looks lot more like a rotty. She is very smart. I need your coaching!
Thank you for this info! I’m just getting past the puppy biting! I allow her to nibble my hand, but once it gets too hard, I sort of yelp and remove my hand then leave. Something I’m having trouble with is that she growls and bites when we pick her up or move her or take stuff like toys or garbage away. This doesn’t happens with treats or chews, only with objects. When picking her up, she lets out this grumble/growl and then grabs your hand or whatever is touching her. I think of it as a “stop I don’t like that” and I just finish what I’m doing and stop. Like if I need to take something away from her, I throw a treat and take the item. Or if I’m picking her up, I will slowly put her back down and let her go. Any tips or reasons as to where this behavior stems from? All help is appreciated!! Thanks!
Just curious, how old is your puppy? Our 7 month old rot loves tissues, wipes, Kleenex, ugh! She once locked down on my hand refusing to give up the paper towel. She wanted it so badly she didn’t care about my finger. Since I couldn’t grab a treat, a high pitched screech worked. Otherwise, we are in constant need of kibble to get stuff from her. I hope she gets better with age! She did growl and snap when I moved her when younger but is much better now.
@@NightOwlandtheMoon my girl is 5months old! I wish this were something that went away with time, but it requires some training to get them used to the notion of giving stuff to us regardless of what it is. Still working on it!
@@aliciaorozco4099 you can also try not to reward with treats or toys and just a good boy/girl and some cuddles. If you constantly use toys or treats they can become expectant that there reward is a toy or treat and therefore get grumpy when you take it away. And when you do take the toy away praise him/her when she reacts positively with good old fashioned positive reinforcement. I know I'm way late to this so hopefully your rotty has changed and your no longer experiencing this issue
Have a new rottie & he's nibbling in play & on pretty much anything that's hanging like a blanket or my pj pants. I found a technique somewhere else that seems like when I look at him he's working out hey if I do this mom well Yelp & stop play. He's still biting on fabric & such. He pounces in play as well.
Just got a Rottweiler puppy. This info is really helpful. She is 11 weeks old and got angry when she vomited and I went to clean it up. She growled and snarled and I needed my husband to take her so I could clean the puke up. Any idea why this would be? She doesn’t do the same regarding her food or toys.
I have a 1 year old Rottweiler and he loves everybody in my family except for when my sister comes around he's happy until he smells her and then he gets very reactionary and somewhat aggressive not sure how to fix it
Great informative video! 👍🏽 Think about adding some playing time add the end of the video to close it out. You have beautiful those and that could be like an outro for your vids. Keep the great videos coming 👏🏽
Our 2 months old puppy is healthy and active. Once it gets in mood to play it bites the bottom of our pants/skirt/ any loose clothing and keeps pulling until it is torn. Also bitting our legs while we are walking, of course it is playing. I tried saying NO, “yelp” sound, it worked the first day of introduction but the next day it ignores.. starts to pull the cloth with more force with growling.Diverting to other toys or whistling works for 3 secs after that and comes to us again vigoursly.. otherwise she is all good. Any techniques to save our clothes and legs from bite scratches please.
Got a Rottweiler puppy she knows how to sit, sit pretty, trained to the pitty pads . Can’t let her go outside in the back yard by herself, as we live in a community with a lake in the back yard, thoughts? She is a nipper and has brought blood from me. Thank you for this video!
Also how should I leave my Rottweiler pup alone. We’re working on crate training now and he doesn’t whine anymore (it’s only been 2 days!!) but also when he has been biting I’ll put him in the play pin because he would keep following me after I say no. So I’ll redirect it with the pin and toys are in there after the no. Please help!! Since I’ve got him I’ve been home from work but I go back soon. Is he going to be okay if I leave him in his crate for 8 ish hours?
🎄Merry Christmas to you too Collin and Kenai,Kita,Fluffy‼️ Very beautifuly elaborated video, precisely to the point 👍🏻 Whatever you’ve mentioned is exactly how I’m raising my almost 10 month old Rottweiler Karma and watching your videos keep motivating me to do better for him for us to be happy under one roof 😊 I would still love it if you would do a video on food which you’ve already done before but this time what I’d like to know is how often you should feed this or that and when to give raw food or cooked food you know just exactly how this very video is done with almost all details... Appreciate your good deeds 💯 Happy Holidays
Hi again. I have a 7 year old Chihuahua female. My son,(45) lives with me. Since that, she only listens to him when we are all together. Hes her alpha. My son knows that. But she wont even look at me when I talk to her. So should I practice when my son is at work. She does listen when it's the 2 of us. She doesn't play with toys at all. Just not her thing. So it's going to have to be treats. I love the action, correction, praise standard. She barks when people walk by outside. Can I use that to get her to stop. She is very protective of her family. But if someone is at the door and you need to talk to them, I could start there. She barks profusely.
This was very helpful, I am having this biting problem with my Rottweiler puppy now, she has been biting at me and my 5 year old but she never bites my bf it's like she respects him because he's the man of the house but with mommy/me she wants to play and bite, when I tell her to stop she just gets worse and it is starting to really hurt I needed this video
I’m sorry if I’m late but, hello how are you doing, these tips are super helpful but my one month Belgian Melinois puppy just won listen. I want my puppy to know that I’m the leader and I want him listen too all my commands. My biggest problem is, my puppy won’t listen and just bites, he’s gets very aggressive when he goes through that stage. I want to train my puppy to stop biting. I’m really looking forward to this and just really teach my puppy to listen to all my command. Someday I want my puppy to be gentle and respectful when he gets older.

We recently adopted an American Bullweiler from a rough home. She's 3 months old, and very mouthy. Our son has sensory issues and she's picked up on this. She won't nip or chew on him. Everyone else has been struggling. I like your content, and will start tomorrow. Wish us luck & happy Holidays to your beautiful family 😊
I just got a pure bead Rotti puppy and I have been learning so much off your videos! I already have her sitting and laying down and she is only 10
Weeks old! Amazing!
Collin I am so happy I found your channel I am learning so much about the Rottweiler this is gonna be so helpful when I finally do get my puppy
Happy to help!
Got my first rott pup. He's a hand full. But I'm patient with him. This video helps.
I got a Russian mix with German Rottie he’s 7 weeks old & I use all of your videos to help me out . Your videos are the best and is really helping me train my dog . I’m coaching him good 👍 & I love watching your vids man honestly 💯💯✔️. I literally watch dam near every video !
I am having my first puppy next week, I know it is not easy but I am excited. Love the video
Merry Christmas to you too and thanks for all the great advice! It’s amazing how you can find time to spread education and awareness about how good these boys can be. Thanks for that, really. I hope the channel grows even more so more people can learn about lovely rottweilers and how to become a better pack leader!
Thank you!!! Happy Holidays!
Thank you
Keep me updated on how it works
most helpful puppy biting video I have watched thanks!
Hey you're welcome!
I have a 1 yr and 3m Rotty at home.....you have been a huge help with different training techniques.
Thank you for watching! Appreciate the hospitality and time ya took to comment Melissa ❤️ we appreciate your support more than you’ll ever know!
Fluffy loves toys- to fetch balls- love him- he is still young and spoiled. Nice video. I enjoyed watching this video- love you all ❤❤❤
I love Rottweiler!!! They’re so cute!! 😭😭 I had one before when I was young.
There all so beautiful those babies of yours. Don’t all puppies bite? they love you look at them hanging on every word you say. That’s just such devotion.
Yes they do, but for how long is all up to the owner
Hi Colin, I just got my first rotty puppy last week and she is 9-10 weeks old. She has started biting and I have tried the "no", redirecting etc. but many times she seems to increase the intensity of biting and i have had to put her into her crate until she calms down. She is very smart when doing training sit, down, crawl, up, etc. But the biting I am concerned about. I cannot take her out for walks on the street until she has her 2nd shots so we are restricted to our yard. I would love to hear some suggestions you may have.
My first time training a puppy he's rottweiler pit bull terrier mix definitely underestimated the process these videos help me out a lot he's doing good just the play biting right now and I have kids so I have to get that corrected.. appreciate the videos and excellent advice
what i need right now is constant leadership. And i am just stopping the behavior, not correcting. I still need a lot to be great. Thanks
✍️🙏
Your so informative pal. I was warey of Rotties but now I love them.
Love it! Thanks!
Picking up my 1st puppy this weekend, and sooo excited !! been watching yours, and other channels consistently, hope some of it sticks !!
My Rottweiler play bites! I personally don't like it.. this was actually helpful! I'm happy that I didn't start too late..
He's turning 1 at the end of July
Glad it was helpful!
FLUFFY IS A GOD. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A ROTTWEILER WITH SUCH LOOKS BEFORE!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 💓💓💓
Hahaha we love mr fluffy
Many of the tips you use for Rotweillers is the same guidance/discipline that we use for Children. Rottweillers are very intelligent, similar to humans but no speech. The higher the intelligence the greater the reward but the more work. Ignoring unwanted behavior and rewarding wanted behavior is key but it is all about Relationship, building a close relationship of love and respect through time and physical exchange. It is my hope and prayer people will recognize this for the human child as well and will consider investing their hearts on one.
That was great! Thanks
Love this, I’m trying to do right by my little Rotty
Thank you for being a good dog owner. I'm pleased Kenai, Fluffy and Kita are with you, and not chained with somebody cruel 💖
♥️
Great detail info man! , love your videos 🤙. Your rotties are amazing by the way
Thank you!
I'm glad I found this video! I don't have a rottweiler but I do have a very bitey goldendoodle puppy. Thanks for the tips.
Welcome!
Consistency is important!
Thanks for the Tipps it works good for me, what should i do if my Rotty puppy has his wild 5 minutes ignore him?
As mentioned in the video. Get up and exercise him. Get that energy out.
Thanks for watching Sandra! Glad to have ya!
Great vid mate and helpful-I’ve just got a 8 week Ger Rotty-very good temperament girl. What advise would you give to me for crate training for bed time ? She likes to whine and howl when she’s in the cage.
Cover with a blanket and make it feel like her own separate room instead of a cage
@@TheRottyRanch hi mate, since my first comment she has warmed to her crate and believes it is a safe place for her to go if she wants an afternoon nap haha so the crying and moaning is fortunately more minuscule :)
Thank you for sharing your wisdom ❤️
Thanks for watching!
Oh yea you got about 8 more weeks of biting phase 🤣
Just got a akc certified rott 10wks old and my 5yr old called me that she bit her..so now im here..
Just subscribed too 👍
Welcome!
Happy holidays dude hope you have a wonderful Christmas and new year with your rotts
Merry Christmas! Thank you!
Great channel ,I have been watching your videos for a few weeks now .I'm looking forward, to learning as much as I can from your channel .I brought home our first Rotti today . Do you have any tips, on how I can properly introduce the rotti to our boxer puppy ?
I have a video introducing to a yorkie check it out!
Ok....these guys are too cute!
AGREED!
Always looking forward to your videos coz u teach me alot. Congrats man🤗🤗
Happy to hear that! Thank you!
My puppy Rottweiler is learning fast walks commands but her potty training still needs a lot of work and the bitting its a hassle 😅 great video though learn a lot!
You can do it!
I have 2 Rottweiler puppies. Any suggestions on training 2!
Hi, Collin. I am wirting from Brazil. Have just gotten a half bred rottweiller-dobberman puppy that looks lot more like a rotty. She is very smart. I need your coaching!
Yes, absolutely
Hi can you advise, should we book some dog training classes for the puppy or train them ourselves?
Pet her first and then take the toys away
@@NightOwlandtheMoon my girl is 5months old! I wish this were something that went away with time, but it requires some training to get them used to the notion of giving stuff to us regardless of what it is. Still working on it!
@@TheRottyRanch thank you! I will be doing that!
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to my favorite Rottie show.. All the best for the new year and all the prosperity and continued success ❤❤
Thank you Omah! Happy holidays to you as well ❤️
Have a new rottie & he's nibbling in play & on pretty much anything that's hanging like a blanket or my pj pants. I found a technique somewhere else that seems like when I look at him he's working out hey if I do this mom well Yelp & stop play. He's still biting on fabric & such. He pounces in play as well.
What kind of collar an leash do you recommend for my 3 month old rottie
Any input for 8week puppy who aggressively attacks/bites my feet and ankles? Thank you ❤
Buddy on the chair was absolutely appalled at the “no” hahahaha.
Think about adding some playing time add the end of the video to close it out. You have beautiful those and that could be like an outro for your vids. Keep the great videos coming 👏🏽
Great idea!
Thank you for this video!
she may never get outta the water :D
Also how should I leave my Rottweiler pup alone. We’re working on crate training now and he doesn’t whine anymore (it’s only been 2 days!!) but also when he has been biting I’ll put him in the play pin because he would keep following me after I say no. So I’ll redirect it with the pin and toys are in there after the no. Please help!! Since I’ve got him I’ve been home from work but I go back soon. Is he going to be okay if I leave him in his crate for 8 ish hours?
🎄Merry Christmas to you too Collin and Kenai,Kita,Fluffy‼️
Very beautifuly elaborated video, precisely to the point 👍🏻
Whatever you’ve mentioned is exactly how I’m raising my almost 10 month old Rottweiler Karma and watching your videos keep motivating me to do better for him for us to be happy under one roof 😊
I would still love it if you would do a video on food which you’ve already done before but this time what I’d like to know is how often you should feed this or that and when to give raw food or cooked food you know just exactly how this very video is done with almost all details...
Appreciate your good deeds 💯
Happy Holidays
Happy Holidays! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the great advice!
Love this! So helpful! Thank you

Thank you for this video. Very informative.
Your son needs to avoid her when she ignores you. She needs to listen to both.
Hi what’s is better for Rottweiler ? With tail or without ? Which one is better and why Pls help me about it
This was an amazing video I I swear it wasn't just a "teach dog" video but even a pedagogical lesson for dumb teachers and parents. Please n love ❤
The dog are beautiful!! How do you tell them apart?
same way you tell people apart
Thank you for that i just commented on another video of yours about the biting thing then I found this video. Thanks for what you do
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this .. my 4month old Rottweiler keeps biting and I say stop or no and he will stop and then continue to bite as soon as I go to praise
Correct then praise!

Establish dominance
