My 600-lb Life is an American reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who usually begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
Patients are placed under the care of Iranian-American Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan (often referred to as simply "Dr. Now"), who first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient's progress may offer gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy to further assist in weight loss. - Розваги
One thing i love about watching this show is it showed me where i was headed at 5'9 and 260 lbs. Just hit 199 today and have completely eliminated fast food, processed food, and sugar packed drinks from my diet. This is the best ive felt in years.

I lost about 90 pounds now cutting nothing out just doing a deficit (I was 210 at 5'0, now 122 and maintaining)

@breannedixon9712 fast food I can handle in moderation soda on the other hand, I can not. I have a really bad mental dependency when it comes to soda, so if I just take a sip, it will throw me into a downward spiral. I went 3 weeks without it the last time I tried to be healthier, and I decided to just get one drink. Before I realized it, I had already drunk almost 100 ounces that day.
His brother is so sweet, one of the most genuinely supportive family members I've seen on this show

You would think if he could quit meth he could quit food.
Addiction transfers. It never stops, it moves to another outlet.
Quit drinking started eating and eating... I've only been 113 lbs but at my height that's a lot.

@@russ549some "outlets" or addictions are not destructive but they are addictions nevertheless.
Eg. Collecting coins, money, knitting, clothing, shoes, or working, watching my 600 pound life...
Some addictions might even produce healthy outcomes - researching and being the exact ideal weight for height by meticulous calculation of food and to the minute exercise.

He feels like a prisoner because of his own choices. Sometimes I feel like a prisoner having to go to work every day to support my family but I still would rather be in my shoes than his.

Im amazed hes still alive.
I had a 400 lb six foot one child and he had gastric bypass surgery at eighteen. He is now two hundred thirty lbs. So I guess my statement is to take care of business before they get overly obese. I know it's hard but I don't think most kids want to be judged socially, romantically, or job wise. We as parents have to be proactive. Otherwise we just turn our heads at the future of our children.

What ppl don't get is a caretakers are literally legally obligated to do what they want not whats best or healthy what they want when comes to food anything Like that.

He was doing so good, much thanks to his brother. Hopefully he continues to lose weight and gets himself into a healthier lifestyle. Blessings

Yappy tiny things don't typically need as much exercise so it's easier for the person to look after them. That's my guess.

Ya know, Dr. Now can't really yell at ppl who bring him food, with DoorDash and all the food deliveries. These ppl can order fast food or groceries without leaving the house. Dr. Now is fighting a losing battle. No matter what, the person has to want it for themselves.
he can tho bc most of these people have a feeder/carer/family members who are allowing them to eat themselves to a grave, a lot of the time they aren’t on there own bc they can’t do anything for themselves

I was told that I was borderline diabetic so immediately stopped eating carbohydrates (except fruit and veg), The weight dropped off me.

I'm surprised Dr. Now doesn't approve of protein shakes.
i was surprised by it too, but then i heard charles' weight and how much he lost and i see why. i think dr now knew immediately that charles wouldnt actually only be having the shakes for his first two meals and having a healthy dinner like he claimed, or else he would have lost like 150 lbs in two months (since if the patients actually had 1,200 calories a day dr now says theyd easily lose 100 lbs a month at first). he knew that since protein shakes are empty calories, charles would get really hungry really quick and end up overeating later in the day, nullifying the point in meal replacement in the first place
Protein shakes have preservatives in them and added flavorings like sugar. Regular protein from cooking a piece of chicken, or some fish, would be a better choice than a protein shake.
I guess his family must have been fairly wealthy, to have a carer tend to this guys every needs like he is 90+ years-old.

i don't understand the logic behind this, a quality whey protein is definitely 'usable' by your body, and replacing a meal with a 100-200 calorie drink WILL result in weight loss
