Not doing heads it’s actually fine, don’t see a lot of gains from lt1 stock heads while na especially for the money. However if you Havnt , msd intake is a must with a cam ... my 2 cents
501 seems low. Mine with your mods before the cam makes 493 on E85, and 467 on 93. Typically adding a streetable cam will bring it around 550 and adding heads/valvetrain to match bring it to just shy of 600.
I suppose the only thing you didn't mention is your intake manifold or intake system, which I have MSD Atomic ported manifold and Rotofab intake. Maybe that is the difference, but that really shouldn't change that much.

5th gen camaros are so underappreciated and underated. Best muscle car ever made and it is not close. That car looks great. The wheels look good, I don't know if they are aftermarket? If they are they look good like factory. Most aftermarket wheels people put on look ass. Nice car.

I did a vvt3 Texas speed loved it until I over revved and slapped a piston with my vavle but it led up to a 416 stroker build to pumped

Do cams remove a rev limiter? Could you have a cam and tune installed and tell them to fail proof @ xxx rpm? I'm a total newbie to cams.. I just literally shit my pants and weep if that happened to me
@@marcmaartenful you can absolutely set a rev limiter with a tune. If I had to guess he probably misshifted from a higher gear to a lower one.

marcmaartenful the rev limiter is determined by a few things, mostly the cam, valves, lifters and pistons. The LT1 can rev safely to 7K I think, but limiter is at 6700 and redline is 6500 cause there’s no point in revving that high cause it won’t make power up there. Changing the cam and adding more airflow can change that and a lot of times after a cam you might rev to 7000 instead of 6500. But you have to make sure that your lifters are built for that speed too otherwise it will smack the valves with the piston
I did a swap L83 -6L80- stage 3 TSP cam - DOD delete springs and retainer’s and trunnion upgrade and my camaro sounds very similar to yours. It runs amazing with out a tune but my 6l80 needs a tune badly but my 5.3 LT will blow the tires off doing 55-60mph on a 295-50-15 it’s very impressive….
What mods do you have to support the car to reach 509 whp

Nice car and sound. I have bought a 2017 camaro with a PRT 416 LT1 engine with a big overlap cam, strait exhaust, no CATS. It's impossible to drive smells a lot of fuel from the exhaust, Tune and Logs looks good but I think due to the big overlap part of the gasoline that enters the engine leaves through the exhaust unburned. Do you have the same problem or this issue can be fixed on a new tune. Thanks man.
With a cam change what other requirements are needed to compliment the cam? Im guessing a CAI, tune, and exhaust. When is a larger throttle body needed? Like your setup, would not be for competitive racing but for sound and better overall throttle response and enjoying. Mine is not a daily driver. Thanks!

Did the cam have a different fuel pump lobe? Did you upgrade the fuel pump to the LT4, or is your LT1 pump enough?

When you cam a LS you get the surging and all that, but on a LT even with a stg 3 cam it’s still very comfortable as in stock
It depends on the tune. I've been in Ls1s with big cams that drove great, because the tuner knew what he was doing.

This is true...Btr stage 3 is common on 5th gens. Its all in the tuning. People that own 5th gens seem to swear by it.

@@kenschreiner6465 I am happy with my cam set up, N/A proper tune Never had an issue with it. Just got supporting mods with it just in case. Thats how i am tho. Id spend the extra money to support it so i do not have to worry about it in the future
arlin huynh did TPS whole setup ported heads new valve springs seals pushrods lifters phaser lock out DOD kit vvt 3 cam ported stock intake rotofab dry filter ported TB 17/8 TPS headers I just hope my tuner is on his game

@@kenschreiner6465 I mean as every cammed cars, you would need more throttle. But I have never experience it wanting to shut off. It has very big lopes to where id understand why people would think it shuts off. But that is just the cams honestly.

You said you’re running tsp headers/e85/ and the VVT-2 Tsp cam? Did you have to buy a converter for the cam or you running on the stock converter?
Red SS did he tell you if he swapped it out what I thought with the stage two you don’t have to replace your stall

Red SS. That’s what I thought on my LS. I went stage three boost cam and I had to change the stall And tune the shift points

Just did two 6gens last week that went E85, headers, stock intake and tb, cai and laid down 490's on mustang dyno. So dynojet comparison numbers are 540's

Get the Texas speed stage 2 cam
Union Heritage Fights if your car is bone stock the gains won’t be huge, you’ll want to do bare minimum an intake and headers first but even then there’s other stuff you’d want to do otherwise the cam won’t have as much of a horsepower difference

I would honestly try and stay under 40k miles just for precaution, but honestly have no clue haven’t bought a car with that many miles before.
