This video obviously took a while to make with changing out the exhausts and filming, I would really appreciate a comment, like or subscribe.. or all :p
I put the npp corsa xtreme axle back on my non npp 2019 Camaro ss. And I’m not impressed. Is my car practically quiet because the valves are closed or I need to just break it in?
For those that do not understand how to read a SPL meter. The Corsa averaged 3db louder then the Borla with the valves open(Sport/Track) and 5-6db louder then the Borla in Touring/Stealth. 10db difference is considered "doubling" or twice as loud. So basically the Corsa Extreme was 50% louder then the Borla in Touring, and 25% louder then Borla in Sport/Track.
Corsa louder than borla and better overall tone especially after break in period. Borla quiets up and idle isn’t as good overtime. I’ve had both and corsa by a mile
This is definitely the most thorough and extensive review I found of these two exhaust systems. Thanks for doing this man! Super helpful in shaping my decision.
These videos do almost no justice compared to in person... Borla in person (in my opinion) Sounds deeper and more like something that would come factory on a high end modern muscle car... Corsa sounds way more aggressive in person and you can really hear it from a mile away. The raspy cracks and pops and loud notes are unmatched.
Thanks for doing this video. I know its a lot of work... the stock still sounds pretty good in camparison. I just cant justify spending over 1k to get a slight difference in sound.. corsa is out i still need npp.. id go borla
Stock NPP in Sport mode. All sound so similar so the small difference from stock ain't no way in hell worth the cost in an upgrade!!! Just stick with stock, not only that the stock tone gets deeper with less rasp after aging. Mine sounds different from new when comparing my old videos 5 years and 50k miles ago to now. Sounds better with age after the metal gets seasoned!✊😁
Maybe one day we'll have NPP valves for the Camaro (the C7 NPP will be released very soon) :( sad to see you go but LT catless headers definitely changes things. I'd recommend a Sport Axle-Back vs the Xtreme for anyone going catless, it will have some packing (out of the exhaust flow path) to help knock down the dBs and deepen the overall tone.
So Borla didn’t improve the db level over stock but the tone got deeper. Corsa went beyond stock in db readings however at the high rpms sounds more raspy. Both Borla and Corsa have anti drone tech.
Great video! Like a few others, that small difference in sound isn't enough for me throw the money into it. I would rather invest that into hp upgrades. Thanks for putting in all the effort!
To me the Borla and the stock exhaust sound pretty close to me. I like the Corsa personally. Great video I always wanted to know the difference in sound together between the 3.
Still conflicted. I have a 2017 2SS with NPP. I never run with the valves closed..Never. My car has one more year of powertrain warranty so I'm limited to really just an axle back exhaust right now. I guess I could do the second cat delete also. BUT can't do headers and can't really do a full catback system yet because I have the AFM sensors to deal with, which a tune seems to be the best way to stop the CEL it will throw. I can't tune the car without voiding the warranty. So this is a very hard decision. Both systems will bolt right up to the rest catback pipe when I do the rest of the job next Summer. I want loud! Live near a Raceway and every weekend all Spring thru Fall there are bad ass rides rollin around town. I want my car to sound as wicked as possible.
New watcher here, by any chance can you point me to a Borla ATAK for my 2018 RS Camaro, one that is the single tips (not dual) but still has the valve? I have to wake up early mornings so id like to have that valve
Great video NG! I love the deep tone as well as the pops/cracks which sounds amazing, everything I love about exhaust notes. Is the Borla ATAK deeper than the stock? Sorry, difficult for me to tell. Subbed and notified set!
I personally thought the Borla had a better louder tune; sounded more raspy maybe in person is different regardless seems like the Borla is best of both worlds. If you want to keep it quiet around your neighborhood or ordering drive thru.
Very interesting that Borla lets you keep the NPP exhausts. I am looking at updating my exhaust on my 2012 C6 Grand Sport. Stock OEM is WAY TOO tame. I did a muffler mod to help a bit, but definitely a temporary step until I get a real exhaust. Would you have still gone with the ATAK if it weren't for the NPP? My C6 doesn't have NPP. I had Xtreme on my previous 2015 Camaro SS and loved it. But looking at possibly going Borla Type II or ATAK, if I can find a good value in the used market.
will anything happen if you dont attach the npp valves? The catback version doesnt actually come with any valves so im just wondering if something will mess up with the car if you dont use the stock NPP motor. Also, does anyone know what happens to the AFM valves once you install the catback system?
I ended up going s-type catback for my zl1. Guy at Borla said it had a deeper throatier sound? This video had me sold on ATAK, but he was really pushing the s-type for the deeper muscle car sound. We shall see? Great video by the way.
Thanks for making this video. I have Texas Speed Headers as well, and then got tuned. I lost my crackles and pops. Would you think one of these axle back could help get them back?
No do not pair headers or secondary cat deletes with the stock NPP, you will get a very raspy tin can noise. If you want to increase the noise of the stock NPP get a rotofab intake and switch your mid pipe to double x pipe from Corsa. You will need an adapter piece to hook into the NPP but Corsa has them. That would increase the noise without adding rasp to it. Stock exhaust gets deeper the more you drive with the carbon build up in the pipes.
Hey man whats up.. so I've been going through a challenge figuring out the best exhaust for me.. I have a 2018 Grand Sport - had an AWE Touring exhaust installed (no valves) and while I love the deep loud rumble it has I was missing the valves... so ordered a Borla Attak with valves.. drove it home today and it sounds a tad bit louder than stock lol (very quiet in the interior).... pointless to say I don't like the borla attak at all.. hehe so now I'm back to the drawing board on what to get... I may just bite the bullet and take the AWE back (which sounds awesome just no valves).... I will also be doing a video about these three exhausts... just wanted your input - from the three you tested which has the loudest rumble, girgle - muscle car sound? which did you end up keeping?
Excelente video I respect everyone opinión, personal preference the Corsa performance is the best and Quality is excellent perfect roar sound and I enjoy. 😊
Im deciding between these two as well. Cause I have the 2019 Camaro 2SS, But without the Active Exhaust. I have Dual, so it doesn’t do my V8 any justice hehe From the Corsa or Borla. Which one had more crackle and sounded more deeper?
So touring actually is “active” with the exhaust…, quiet until your at so much percent throttle. Then they open up. Soo. Sport mode. The ideal thing shoulda been to go into the cars setting and set stealth mode… which isn’t attached to a drive mode…, maybe snow and ice. I don’t know. But stealth would have kept them from opening during revs.
This video obviously took a while to make with changing out the exhausts and filming, I would really appreciate a comment, like or subscribe.. or all :p
Best muffler test for sound ever made!
I got you
Awesome friend!!
Did you have to take your car to a tuner when you put the headers on to tune the cats off so that you don’t have a check engine light?
I put the npp corsa xtreme axle back on my non npp 2019 Camaro ss. And I’m not impressed. Is my car practically quiet because the valves are closed or I need to just break it in?
I’m going with Borla. Just had a more muscle sound to it.
Welcome to team Borla 🇺🇸💪🏽
🤜🏼🤛🏼

I’d rather have my car sound like a muscle car instead of European or exotic
looks like they both hit/topped out at 123.6 dbl's The BA's just have more growl to them, both are very good imo
@@johndough7039 the Corsa topped out at 127
@@themarathoncontinues2289 agreed. Straight pipes or stay stock. Otherwise you’re getting a colorized sound.

Been in search for a new exhaust on my 20 LT1, after watching Borla had me. Def a best decision since I’m in a neighborhood as well
Just received an email from Corsa and they will hopefully be releasing their dual mode axle back in March 2020.
Did they ever release it?
Yes they did. Pretty pricey at about 1800-2000
dmccarthy413 and that’s just for the axel back 😂

I like the Borla Atak but i will keep my NPP exhaust for awhile. Really good video comparison!!
The NPP sounds really good, nothing wrong with that at all! Thanks for watching :)
Think I will be adding a used NPP setup to my 2012 and then get the M2W setup for it. Base OEM is soooo quiet.
Thanks for doing this video. I know its a lot of work... the stock still sounds pretty good in camparison. I just cant justify spending over 1k to get a slight difference in sound.. corsa is out i still need npp.. id go borla

That garage setup is making me drool.
I just ordered a new Borla atak for my 17 2SS. Can’t wait until it gets here
How do you like it so far? im about to order for my 18 2SS... been going back and forth on the decision...
Subscribed. Hands down the best comparison video I’ve seen. Appreciate your effort 🙏🏼

I will have Corsa Xtreme + Cat back (secondary cat delete) and Corsa headers on a ZL1 one day!
I am looking at the Corsa Xtreme axle back and Xtreme+ cat back. How much louder is the axle back than stock and catback vs axle back?
I’ll be going with this setup up wish me luck this year 🙏 for my 5th gen ss
Baby seat in the back, nice!
I prefer the Corsa Extreme I installed it on my ZL1 about a month back ...
I like the Corsa as well. Really good sound, only wish they had an option to keep the NPP valves
Well documented video, I totally appreciate the efforts that been put into this video, thumbs up 👍
Finally someone making a proper exhaust video everyone I watch is very quick ugly sounding clips and no info or anything
So Borla didn’t improve the db level over stock but the tone got deeper. Corsa went beyond stock in db readings however at the high rpms sounds more raspy. Both Borla and Corsa have anti drone tech.

Outstanding work on video, love the black tips on Borla too!
Niiiiiiice video, really helped a lot with my decision making!!!
GOOD JOB!!!WELL THOUGHT OUT AND TRULY INFORMATIVE!!! THANKS VERY MUCH!!I HAVE 2018 1SS SO BORLA FOR ME !!!THANKS AGAIN!!!👍🏽

Great comparison, nice vid
may i know which one is loudest?
Richard H I think borla
Virus world I went to Akrapovic 😂
Corsas. They are slightly louder because they are higher pitched.
Stock is loudest
Mount Juliet checking in!

What sounds better to you the corsa or the borla?
Can I get old ones if there louder mine are stock cuad with the npp
I agree need to be able to turn them down at times I am going with Borla also
Which exhaust pops and burbles the most?
Good video will watch again.

I have the Borla S-Type ll on my C6 Z06 and I am very happy with it. It's pretty quiet inside the car, but definitely not too quiet from the outside.
Aside from the price why did you go with the axle back and not the catback? Car sounds awesome 🤩
Borla all the way 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Stock has the best tone.
Hey brother great comparison video. Did you bother with any kind of sealant on the pipes?
Atak sounds more deeper, however the tips are small and they stick out too much.
Definitely going with corsa Getting a SS for a second whip

Yeah the Corsa is bad ass but the borla has options and still sounds good and looks mean with the black tips
what site did you buy them? people review stuff but don't put the link in description....
great video! great info
Borla. Wins by far. No contest at all
Thanks for making this video. I have Texas Speed Headers as well, and then got tuned. I lost my crackles and pops. Would you think one of these axle back could help get them back?
Darrius Glynn back pressure isn’t a big factor in it, you lost them in the tune
Dude. Tbh, stock sounds best. I just want to make that louder. Any ideas? On the other hand, wondering job with the video man, sub + like.
High flow cats, and a resonator delete or muffler delete

Borla has a lower tone with about the same volume as the Corsas. If you like loud raspyish then Corsa is your choice.
Not all heroes wear capes
Corsa all day
Men I want my car to have loud exhaust but 2k or 3k men I can’t afford that yet😢
I can’t tell which is louder...the Corsa or Borla.
Stock NPP win
What inch are the tips
Im deciding between these two as well. Cause I have the 2019 Camaro 2SS, But without the Active Exhaust. I have Dual, so it doesn’t do my V8 any justice hehe From the Corsa or Borla. Which one had more crackle and sounded more deeper?
Dude get borla atak cat. I just got mine on my 18 ss and I would not get anything different. Pay for the borla sound, people notice the difference.
What did you end up buying?

Does changing your exhaust and deleting your muffler void your factory warranty ?

wow. Thanks for the upload.
why is the db reading the same as sport as it is in touring

Great video man! I have a question tho.. What’s an NPP Exhaust? Is that a Stock exhaust?
Bkizzle yes it’s the stock exhaust
It’s factory performance exhaust with valves on the outer pipes to muffle the sound
It comes stock with the 1le
Borla 💯
Awe sounds better imo
Need to remove those secondary cats bud. Then it'll really pop and crackle the way it should.
Slide a big cam in there and i promise you there isnt a better sound on earth with that and corsa extreme, no cats and long tubes
Are these just the axle back?
Noah Flores yes
Borla Allday
Corsa sounds better
For me they sound all the same I just have to see irl
They all sound a little farty.... why is that
When you're a fart everything sounds like shit
