The 505 is the elephant gun of the crossbow world! Mine achieves 521 fps with a 400 grain arrow. With a 470 grain hunting arrow, I’m still at 500 fps. Shooting heavier hunting arrow is a huge benefit for the 505.

This is not the crossbow you throw in the back of your ranger and drive over a washed out gravel road with. It is also not something you go to the bench with and crank out 400 shots with.
Crossbows and archery equipment has differences from firearms.
What it is is specialized. It’s expensive, it’s effective & it’s a Lamborghini. If you understand these guidelines, you will have a long and happy life with the 505.

I’m excited about this bow. Very accurate shooter and very durable rig. Personally, I think this beats the R500 for a lot of reasons. I had to get one the moment it came out.

It seems the crossbow, such as this one, as powerful as it is, will be beat out by a powerful compound. Even tho the compound is slower. It can always fire heavier arrows. And since penetration is won by momentum, and momentum is won primarily by projectile mass and sectional density, a powerful compound’s arrow gives it an edge over even a nitro 505.

That's funny, I just shot one of these yesterday, it seemed quite made to me, perhaps you were mixing it up with the Ravin R500s which people still cannot get their electric drives for if they bothered to order that since the wind up and unwind are dreadfully slow on those...

At 3:20 the center serving looks terrible. 300# is a lot of draw weight, but the serving shouldn't look like THAT .
How many shots were on this string during this video?

10point nitro 505 is a joke when compared to my scorpyd nemesis 480... the Nitro shots 505fps with 400gr bolts when my scorpyd was shooting them 400grainers at 480fps (stock-before tuning but that comes later)... and this is the best part- my minimum draw weight is only 90pounds so i rope cock it (short rope cock it! its only 90pounds ater all) and those poor bastards MUST use a crank (electric, fuel powered or atomic-whichever hi-tec type:)) because their minimum draw weight is 150pounds! heheee..,. yes, you heard it right- 150pounds is what you would need to lift in order to rope cock that T-rex:) Next you need to imagine what kind of stress your 10point Nitro 505 is under if it uses a 300pounds draw weight! yeayy, why not just go to the next level and make it 400pounds draw weight??- but the you would need to use "TWIN Cranking Devices" or better yet a "Quattro":===:)) And the best part is- i have tuned my nemesis by adjusting cam timing and better string and reached around 510ish FPS with 400grainers.. so who is laughing now??? i can still rope cock it- neneeneneeeneeee
And I can change the string and cables in the field (dont need no press, never had to because they never broke but i could:) -hihehe, sorry, i wont torture you no more talking about the 1.5pound trigger and, and, and...:))

You stole that design from Raven all you did was reverse the limbs

Not true. There are numerous differences between the two.
Just a couple examples. The cams of the nitro are very different than any other in the industry.
The grooves are freakishly deep and rotation is over 404 degrees. The string itself is very different from most any crossbow. It is extremely thick and wouldn’t even come close to fitting the majority of crossbows.
Speeds of the Nitro are most often considerably faster than 505 fps. Mine clocks 521 with a 400 grain arrow and 500 with a 470 grain hunting arrow.
The balance of the 505 is night and day better with the reverse draw design and in fact, Ravin borrowed the metal collars with the nocks from TenPoint.
The idea of 500 fps has been out there for a good while, but how the two companies got there is dramatically different. If you’ve never tried one, you will get a better idea once you do. Until then your speculation is hasty.
