Feels like at 21:30 when Bob is talking about that boy he almost started crying a little. He really was so empathetic and kind. The world should always keep Bob Ross in mind when thinking of how we can be better people in our own lives.

Also I've noticed in alot of episodes he refers to his paintings as "fantastic little paintings". It is Definitely true, they ARE fantastic little paintings!

(sorry for the late start! Was doing studying! Also hey 100th like from me ;) yay)
So I heard from someone in the comments something that I have to admit: this is the series of black gesso. Holy cow so much of it was used to cover the canvas. And I don't mean black-canvas's I mean using it to make designs like trees foliage.
This painting had a lovely simple mountain with no highlights. Again, it MIGHT look better with the highlights only because you get more texture, but this painting was meant to be warm and not cold. I guess you could have made a warmer mountain if you really wanted to.
The big rock cliff on the left of the waterfall was excellent in texture, and the trees in the back from the gesso, to the middle with the cliff, to the ones on the bottom left all tucked away, once again provide so much depth. And now comes the return of the deep blue waterfall that I loved last time. Something is just so great about it. It might not be a realistic color for water but it's so tranquil and lovely.
Something I noticed about this that I loved was the small rock splitting the waterfall. It's so SIMPLE to do but I really noticed it so much!
One thing I want to talk about are the art contest winners at 18:04, more specifically Earl Glenn Russell on the right. He won and he was just 12 and UNDER! And look at his painting! The mountain with the crashing wave, looks JUST like Bob's. That is super impressive. Now correct me if I'm wrong but I believe a little while ago in a previous series that was the kid who Bob showed us him painting. Either way it's unreal, just like Bob says, how people can paint just like him.

I like how he did the depth with the waterfall and the cliffs. It shows that the river is curving due to the cliff on the left. Just very interesting depth.

So I tired to recreate one his paintings and the whole thing was way too wet. I couldn't get the brush dry enough. I rinse it in oder less pain thinner just as he does. Can someone please give me some advice?
Maybe you used too much liquid white? He always emphasizes a "thin coat"
I wonder if this could be done with acrylics?
My guess is that how quickly acrylics dry might affect the result, but I've never actually tried it before. You should definitely try it! :)
I dont understand, if he is using oil psints then how he is cleaning his brushes with water?
