Doctor Mike do a collab with a psychologist. It'll help people to understand the link between mental health and physical well being. My personal suggestion is Dr Halah Banani. She has a lot of experience and she's sort of an expert in dealing with marital problems.
This should have waaaay more likes! I would love to see this, especially now. Therapists have never been busier than in 2020, and even how they work is changing. It's extremely relevant right now. Honestly, I feel like most people should see a therapist. It's a messed up world, and everyone has something they are struggling with internally, your mental health is just as, if not more, important than just your physical health. Poor mental health can drastically affect your physical health. Okay, "speech" over 😊
I was just about to comment the same thing. It would be great if he could do some on mental health. It has become so very important now more than ever.
7 years ago, my then 4 year old daughter, was bitten by our dog. After the ER, she was immediately seen by a plastic surgeon. He was amazing and great with my baby. Plastic surgeons definitely do more than implants.
One of my most horrific flights I remember was when we flew two women to Milan for reconstructive surgery - they were attacked with acid. One was lucky, only half of her face was burned, the other - not so much. So if anyone tells you plastic surgery is only for vain rich people, you can direct them to those ladies. Gosh I hope they got the best treatment possible.
This has to be the most wholesome conversation between two doctors on the Internet. Even if they didn't have the same perspective, they managed to put across their point of view without hurting the other's sentiment.
I recently had an arm amputation. A plastic surgeon was involved in my case to not only close my stump, but to also do a procedure on my nerves to decrease the chance of phantom pain. Thank you for telling people that plastics isn't just boob jobs and face lifts. 💜😁
Yes! I recently had a surgery done on my broken hand by a plastic surgeon, and according to my grandfather (who's a doctor), plastic surgeons do these sort of things all the time.
I am officially hooked on Dr. Mike and his page. Intelligence, mindful, and informative. My sister keeps going on and on about getting implants and thinks they’ll defy gravity, I forwarded this video for her and now she has a better idea of what she’d like.
I had some prejudices about plastic surgeons before my 3rd child was born. He was born with a cleft palate (as part of a genetic condition) and it was a plastic surgeon that repaired his cleft palate. Now I see a different side of plastic surgery I had never considered and I’m thankful for their ability to perform reconstructive surgeries that can be really necessary for quality of life and functionality.
because for many of us, when we think of plastic surgery, we think for cosmetic reasons, when that is not always the case... I had to have reconstructive surgery on my neck for a really bad scar I developed. You were spot on when you said, "necessary for quality of life and functionality."
My cousin ripped open her arm on a fence riding a horse and a plastic surgeon was able to repair the damage and make the scar in the crease of her arm and you really have to look hard to see it, even if you know it’s there.
I had a very bad opinion about plastic surgey, until somebody reminded me that it is thanks to plastic surgeons that some people still have a face. The reconstructive part of it should not be underestimated.
Love the wholesome vibes of two guys in separate medical practices. It's just great to see! I hope to see more collaborations between medical professionals (borderline experts in their field), who like to keep their viewership informed on medical practices, as well as demystify the medical field as a whole. It makes me realize more and more that medical professionals are people too. I like to see this.
I fractured a bone in my eye and in my nose and the topic of plastic surgery was approached. I was about 15 at the time and it made me realize that it really is a medical solution and not just for people trying to look hot
@Jacqueline I feel the same way. My friend's dad is a surgeon who has reconstructed the faces of so many burn and acid attack victims. It's sad that most ppl don't consider that aspect of the career
@L, @Adele St is right, there are no bones that are in our eyes, but the bones that hold everything in place and keep your face structured are super tiny around your eyes and can easily cause vision loss if damaged
I ran into a wrought iron chair when I was 2 years old. I crushed one of my cheek bones and split my face open. I have a tiny scar and my face is very symmetrical and you cannot tell. If I hadn’t had plastic surgery I would have been permanently disfigured for my entire life. Even though it was elective and wasn’t medically imperative, I am very grateful that my parents chose to go through with it.
What, that's too much pain! When I was 4 I ran into my balcony grill and hurt my head, but thankfully it wasn't so much severe but it was extremely painful for the next week. I can't imagine how much pain you felt.
@@aflower6955 I’m honestly not sure. I was only 2 and don’t actually remember the event itself. I had some kids ask me about the scar on my face when I was in elementary school (it was a little darker back then) and I asked my mom and she told me about it and gave me the name of the doctor. I sent him some flowers and a note. My dad still tells people about how the police interrogated him about it, he didn’t do anything wrong and wasn’t even home at the time apparently, but he was really happy that they were looking out for his little girl.
I just want to say thank you to plastic surgeons ( and doctors in general ) When I was about 8 I got bit by a dog, and tthey got me exactly the way i was before and left me with the tiniest scar. They were super patient with me and helped make a traumatic experience a little better

Wait so the “plastic” in plastic surgery wasn’t a western-coined term to denote the “fakeness” of the appearance of those who undergo the knife? It’s not meant to be a Barbie doll joke? Nice!
@@placeholdernameisplacehold7671 but by that definition it could be more accurately called playdough surgery. Playdough is the most moldable thing I know! 😋
Yep! Plastic means something moldable or changeable. There is something called “neural plasticity” which regards the brain’s ability to develop different functions in different regions. People who have only half a brain can live pretty normal lives due to this phenomenon. Nothing to do with the polymer!
The family doctor recommends to try a better diet and exercise before resorting to supplements and the plastic surgeon recommends to try supplements before going straight to surgery. Both perspectives make a lot of sense.
hahaha, i thought the same thing. it's also interesting how he says that the funding for the research on supplements isn't really going to happen because there isn't any money in supplements. however, a lot of people are interested in them with the mindset of "quick fix, cure all", so you would think there is money in it... i guess he says this because anyone can buy a bottle of centrum at CVS, so it would be difficult for pharma to cash in on it unless they made Rx only supplements.
Honestly suplements can be a good thing. But its best to get bloodwork done to see what vitamins your body needs more off this way you can take what you actually need. Vitamin C pills when your vitamin C levels are fine is not getting your moneys worth. At least thats what my doctors tell me.
I regret doing my breast implant surgery . Ladies, please have in mind that you will need to change them at some point in your life, that’s very important to know and at young age we don’t think about it. I’ll remove mine later on in life. What is said in the vid is true. I don’t run, I do weights, you can feel the implant when you run. My advice to the ladies if is not reconstruction and you want to do it just for vanity , don’t do it. Embrace your natural beauty . Same with ladies getting huge buns!! No!!!!! That doesn’t look classy .
Imagine in a few years another really attractive doctor gets famous and Dr. Mike would say to them what Dr. Youn said to him, "I was kind of like you before you hit the scene. I'm now the old version of you". But we'll always love you, even when we're 90 (hopefully our lifespans are that long)! 💙

Anna Crivano doctors, nurses, surgeons, etc. actually aren’t allowed to give medical care or perform practice on patients who are there significant others or anyone who is not their patient, it’s against the law (i’m almost 100% sure). I lovr Dr.Youn's take on plastic surgery, its a very responsible and ethical approach that allows his patients to think about the procedures they will be undergoing. Its important to imfor the patients of all the risks and possible outcomes, so they can make the right decision!
It really is. Plastic surgery changed my life, although not in the way most people would expect. I had a large mole in a place that made wearing bras absolute torture, and we had to get a skilled plastic surgeon to make sure there would be no painful scarring.
I’m 17 and I had plastic surgery in January because of how I looked at myself in the mirror. When I saw what I looked like and broke down in tears I knew that plastic surgery would be best for me. I’m 100 times more confident in my appearance today and have no regrets
Very happy for you but please ensure one thing that never influence someone something that you don't use to attain your level of beauty. You got a blessing for life❤️
There was nothing wrong with your appearance, but with you mentality. You sound like you suffer from some sort of body dysmorphia and it isn’t fixed by getting plastic surgery, you need to seek therapy.
@@princejiminofbusan9209 Okay. I get that you were trying to help, but no.. They already got the surgery, they're happy and confident In the way they now look, and if that's always the case, what's the whole reason for complete cosmetic plastic surgery? Also, your reply comes off very rude and commanding.
Every time I hear "plastic surgery is wrong" I tell them the story of my first boss. She had a high risk of getting breast cancer and her mother recently died of breast cancer, so she did a hard choice. She removed everything in her breast and put in implants, just a little bit bigger than her normal size, so from a B to a C. Is that wrong? NO, she did it to ensure she got a long happy life
There are some “cosmetic” surgeries I really wish were covered by health insurance. I had a large mole in a place that made wearing bras absolute torture, and I had to pay for the removal surgery out-of-pocket. I still don’t regret it, though. It really improved my quality of life.
I had two small moles that were removed and the doctor just said "I'll write that the moles were a risk for infection, so your insurance pays it". This was in Germany though. Our healthcare is better than US healthcare
That's actually dangerous. The repeated trauma to the mole could aggrevate it and cause problems. My insurance paid for mine to all be removed. I'm not in the states though
I had a huge mole on my inner thigh. I hated it my whole life, i was so self conscious and had such a negative view of myself with it. I explained to my GP how much it was bothering me and she referred me to a dermatologist clinic to have it removed, and specified to send it in for cancer testing. There was no real concern, but sending it in for testing meant it was no longer cosmetic so the government plan (Canada) covered the removal, and its better to test it just in case than assume nothing is wrong and miss a potential cancer. The dermatologist actually tried to talk me out of it, saying I would have a big ugly scar. I was kind of like ummm I currently have a big ugly mole so what's the difference? I immediately felt better about my body and the "big ugly scar" faded to be almost invisible within 2 yrs.
I got plastic surgery to remove moles on my face that had a chance of becoming cancerous. I’ll admit part of the reason I got it done was for aesthetic reasons, but it also involved my future health concerns. Thank you for pointing out that plastic surgery isn’t always purely cosmetic!

Okay, "speech" over 😊
Dr Kirk Honda would be my recommendation! He’s a great UA-cam psychologist
Dr. Ramani Dirvasala
I was just about to comment the same thing. It would be great if he could do some on mental health. It has become so very important now more than ever.

Sometimes boob jobs are medically necessary too..
Yes! I recently had a surgery done on my broken hand by a plastic surgeon, and according to my grandfather (who's a doctor), plastic surgeons do these sort of things all the time.
I just had transgender top surgery, and it was (of course) done by a plastic surgeon.
Beth Anne of course! Body dysmorphia, transgender top surgery, just to name a few! I didn't mean it to be derogatory 💜

My cousin ripped open her arm on a fence riding a horse and a plastic surgeon was able to repair the damage and make the scar in the crease of her arm and you really have to look hard to see it, even if you know it’s there.
same here.. but then I realized plastic surgeons can help you look like how you were before an accident or assault
Throw back to when DR MIKE DIDNT KNOW ABOUT OUR PRECIOUS PLASTIC SURGEON.
I had a very bad opinion about plastic surgey, until somebody reminded me that it is thanks to plastic surgeons that some people still have a face. The reconstructive part of it should not be underestimated.
I full on agree
Love the wholesome vibes of two guys in separate medical practices. It's just great to see! I hope to see more collaborations between medical professionals (borderline experts in their field), who like to keep their viewership informed on medical practices, as well as demystify the medical field as a whole. It makes me realize more and more that medical professionals are people too. I like to see this.
"The old doctor mike" 🤣
Also I feel like people forget that plastic surgeons work a lot w burn victims and arent just nose jobs and lipo
I fractured a bone in my eye and in my nose and the topic of plastic surgery was approached. I was about 15 at the time and it made me realize that it really is a medical solution and not just for people trying to look hot
@@Adri.anaS65 there's bones in our _eyes_ ?
@@user-jm9rf1zh5x well, our skull is bone and our eyes sits inside that bone, so not exactly inside the eye but around it there's definitely bones.

@@aflower6955 a
@@aflower6955 I’m honestly not sure.
Gives you a lot of faith in a man's integrity when his parting words are "think very hard about whether you want to buy my services."
I just want to say thank you to plastic surgeons ( and doctors in general ) When I was about 8 I got bit by a dog, and tthey got me exactly the way i was before and left me with the tiniest scar. They were super patient with me and helped make a traumatic experience a little better

Mike's such a doctor... they mention bouncing breasts and the first thing that comes to mind is Exercise concerns.

I’m a woman with breast implants. That’s definitely the first thing that came to my mind. It’s a real issue. They should have mentioned the importance of wearing a VERY supportive, stabilizing sports bra when exercising. I wear 2 at a time now, which really helps minimize bounce.

Wait so the “plastic” in plastic surgery wasn’t a western-coined term to denote the “fakeness” of the appearance of those who undergo the knife? It’s not meant to be a Barbie doll joke? Nice!
The first plastic surgeon fixed birth deformities and war accidents. He was hailed as a hero with none of the connotations of plastic surgery today.
Dr Youn: " I do myself believe in supplements"
*Dr Mike's heart sinks*
Dr Mike could be more open minded.
He also said that he recommends having all your ducks in a row as far as exercise and diet first though.

Do whatever you want is best for you. Just know the consequences of them, and don't regret your decision.

Either way probably for the best
@@solar0wind Mine did that, he spent three weeks arguing with the insurance comapny.
