Another underrated player from the fluminense squad is Jhon Arias. The guy never loses the ball and also has an incredible work rate whilst never getting tired.
Diehard Fluminense supporter here…. most definitely underrated and eternal Idol of Fluminense without a doubt. I like to think of him in comparison to Man Utd’s legendary Park Ji Sung or “3 Lung Park” in agreeing with what you said as both have very high work rates and can last an entire 90 min match without getting tired. A player with John’s characteristics is really rare to find in football now a days…. What a true gem 💎 we got with John our “Colombian Pele” 💎🔥🇨🇴🇭🇺🤟🏻💯❗️
In addition to all this, there are two very curious facts about striker Germán Cano. 1) He has scored 13 goals in 12 games. No other player has scored so many goals in a single Libertadores edition in the 21st century. 2) He has been the world's top scorer for clubs since 2022 Players with the most goals in the world (by club) since the start of 2022: 81 - 🇦🇷 Germán Cano (Fluminense) 77 - 🇳🇴 Erling Haaland (Dortmund / Manchester City) 77 - 🇫🇷 Kylian Mbappé (PSG) 65 - 🏴 Harry Kane (Tottenham / Bayern) 64 - 🇫🇷 Karim Benzema (Real Madrid / Al-Ittihad)
Not unfair at all, even more impressive, since the guy is 35yr old and playing every 2 or 3 days, with our schedule, the brazillian league has a ridiculously small time to train travel and rest.@@edinan9
@@arumakan1Yes he did. He confirmed that he got an ofrer on July that he refused, because he promised Diniz that he would be at the team until the end of the year, trying to win the Libertadores. And well... He did the right choice. Will leave as a Fluminense Legend and loved by all of the fans.
the press here in Brazil us saying that Arsenal and Fulham are on the race to sign him alongside Liverpool.....Arsenal got a brazilian Sporting Director, this help the talks.
I've read that Liverpool's bid for André was below the release clause, Fluminense already has deals for Nino (defender) with Nottingham Forest, Liverpool can still reach a deal to have him after december, when the Brazilian season ends.
That´s what I always think about Atalanta under Gasperini. Four player futsal combinations on the left side of the field, four player futsal combinations on the right side of the field and two "linking players" in the middle: a holding centerback and a playmaking attacking midfielder.
Fluminense fan her since I was a child In 2008, the team went to its first Libertadores Final ever. Lost in the penalties after a ridiculous game from Thiago Neves, scoring a hat trick, but losing the decisive penalty. The fans went out with a very bad feeling that it could've been better. 15 years later, Fluminense wins the Libertadores for the first time. For Fluminense fans, this is a very special title and the biggest one ever. We are looking forward to, hopefully, face Manchester City at the world club's tournament in december. First, we have to go through that semifinal, but it would be very interesting watching Guardiola vs Fernando Diniz
We already had a major positional x anti positional matchup with bielsa x diniz, diniz did really bad being the favourite, lets see how he does when he's the underdog against man city, i just hope its a better game than brazil vs uruguay, that was one of the worst games of football ive ever seen in my life, that first half was definetly the worst.
You do realize that you are talking about the brazilian National team, right? It was, at most, the 4th game Diniz had and the players clearly are trying to adapt to his style of play, since most of them play a positional style in Europe and you can see it on the highlights of every Brazil match.@@Tuca46 And besides that, he is dividing responsibilities with Fluminense and the National Team as well and at that time, Fluminense had a semifinal of Libertadores ahead of them.
@@samuraijack1k997 thats a convenient excuse, you will be able to use it forever if you need to since the players will always practice on positional style for 90% of the time because thats what they do on their clubs. That second point doesnt hurt his national team practice time so i dont get how that relates to your argument, it does hurt his fluminense time though, they lost a week to prepare to their games, glad it didnt matter at the end.
That final was one of the most entertaining games I've watched, pure chaos with the goal in ET and sending off for John Kennedy. He looks very decent, such a fun team to watch.
I really wish to see more analysis of South American clubs. To show there are some pretty good tacticians in here, Abel Ferreira is a great coach. Renato Gaucho is making a good job turning Luisito Suarez into a playmaker and with a very cheap team.
Agree with all the names you mentioned. But also Tite coaching Flamengo has now ramped up the level. The recent game between Tite's Flamengo and Abel's Palmeiras was a spectacular match of football. Tite may have failed with Brazil, but the man is an excellent coach with two serie a titles, a Libertadores, and Club world cup trophy. Next year, the Libertadores and Brasileirao are gonna be so much more competitive.
@@theflight5247 Tite is an excellent coach which I'm grateful for (flamengo fan here). After losing two cups he was hired for far below what he is worth, as if losing a world cup meant you are such a terrible coach.... tite's brazil was great (both of them, 2018 and 2022). It just happens that the world cup is the world cup. 82's brazil was magical and didn't win. Johan Cruyff never lifted the trophy either. Anyways, i'm glad we have him on board. Tite is a sound tactician and a very good coach. Now we need to replace some players...that will be the hardest part...2019's glories, you know....
Fluminense fan here One aspect to Diniz' work that I believe is often overlooked is the way he works with the players themselves. The best example of this is John Kennedy himself, who, in the beggining of the year, was at a loan to a smaller club and was about to be let go because of some behavioural issues. However, Diniz kept him in the team and build a trust relationship with him, which enabled him to go from about to scoring arguably the most important goal in the clubs history. Often times nowadays we expect things, and worst of all, people, to just work on the first time around without any adjustment and that's just not the way it goes.

"Created in Great Britain and perfected in Laranjeiras", Fluminense Football Club is amazing! Soon we'll watch Diniz x Guardiola at the Club World Cup. Fluminense against Manchester City will be the pinacle of this year, you'll see!
Watching the game, you can see the discomfort of the Boca players with flu overload positions and short passes, often not knowing what to do they end up giving up on marking. Personally, I would like to see Diniz in Europe with a prime squad.
Great vid, just one thing to add! Something that other countries tend to not get is the way Brazil played the 4-2-4: Brazil played that style for almost.... 20 years. It consisted of two wingers, a centerfoward and a position that we called "ponta de lança" (spearhead, literally), which was almost a second striker and given to the most skilled attacker, like Pele. When Diniz made 3 subs, getting John Kennedy, Diogo Barbosa and Lima at the field, Germán Cano backed to the "ponta de lança" position, penetrating the defense and also going back to defend, while John, young, rested and full of personality, got to receive the ball against very tired adverseries. Diniz style of play not only is getting back the real brazilian style of play, but also rescuing old brazilian traditions and mixing them: most of 50's and 60's videos show very static formations, like the positional players today so adding up the brazilian "casual" football of exchanging positions when necessary makes it seem like not only a ressurgence of "jogo bonito", but a try at "jogo bonito 2.0".
The purist football did this video 5 months ago and suddenly channels like this and statman Dave have got their own ones up this week that are remarkably similar. Might want to remove your head from his cheeks since it’s just a copy and paste job.
Relationism is in the edge between chaos and order, it is to encrease entropy in the system. That was the tactic that made possible Pelé or Garrincha evolve to play like legends. It's the old way of the brazilian national team before Positionism arose in Brazil, which is an european tactic (positionism). Fernando Diniz is rescuing it from the old days. Sorry for my broken english. It's the only team in Brazil which plays like that nowadays. Another team with strange technics is Palmeiras, which lets the other team to play almost freely, it's an omissive-aggressive stance. The day they mix the relationism with the omissive-aggressive stance will be the beggining of a new tactical premise.
OK, great video, but I want to bring up another approach regarding what you said at 1:20 to 1:45 : Rinus Michels' Dutch team (74 - 78) definitely created new concepts and inspires coaches (directly or indirectly) to this day, just as Cruifjj's teams. But we can't let Brazil's 1970 team out of this conversation. Due to having four stars who would normally play the same position in a team (Pelé, Gérson, Rivellino and Tostão), legendary coach Zagallo took a revolutionary decision. He moved Gérson back almost to a defensive midfielder and played Tostão as a "falso 9" , which literally means an offensive player positioned on the pitch as a striker but in reality, moves freely out of the box with the main purpose of creating rather than finishing plays. He brought in Jairzinho to play up as a winger instead of putting him at center forward, the position he usually played for his club. And finally, he left Pelé free to play up front, just as Guardiola did MANY, MANY years later with Messi. Rinus Michels saw this and went one step further, leaving virtually no fixed-position players in his team. This mixture of the Brazilian team of '70 and the Dutch team of '74 ended up culminating in Telê Santana's choices in '82 when he had Zico, Sócrates, Falcão and Éder. Let's keep In mind that the 1982 World Cup was held in Spain and Pep Guardiola has openly said during interviews that he based some of this ideas on the tactics of that team, which unfortunately ended up losing to Italy and which is the greatest translation of "Joga bonito", the term that you guys from abroad admire so much and that we Brazilians have also adopted after the Nike ads hahaha The bottom line is this: You can't tell which was the specific origin of relativism in Football, but certainly, the Brazilian team of '70 had a big influence on this ideology. Just like the Dutch in '74 and the teams led by Johan Cruijff in Barcelona...

Brazil adopted an more positional and defensive stance after Tele Santana defeat on 1982 and 1986 World Cups (1982 squad is regarded as one of the best Brazilian teams ever with Zico, Falcão, Cerezo, Socrares and Junior). Tele himself did managed to win World club title twice with São Paulo on 1992/1993 (on 1992 with Guardiola himself as the main midfielder for Barcelona). Unfortenatly for South American Clubs the end of the Max 3 foreingners on European teams and Bosman Ruling made the Gap between South American and European Clubs too wide.and barely winnable. Corinthians was the last one but It It had some luck to face Chelsea without Drogba instead of Bayern or Real Madrid (or Even Chelsea with Drogba instead of Fernando Torres) But since than It is a fact that Brazil seldomly adopted skilled central midfielders like Cerezo and Falcão, opting instead for players like Dunga and Mauro Silva or Gilberto Silva and Kleberson.
Fernando Diniz often used to go to the high school I studied at to talk with the futsal coach - which was my coach at the time. Hence I talked to him a couple of times but obviously a long long time ago and he was always incredibly kind to me and to the other kids. It happened in Sao Paulo in 2006. I really happy to see he's getting the appreciation he deserves.
I'm a fan from a team that is Fluminense's biggest rival (Flamengo), and I can guarantee for sure that they currently have the best football outside of Europe, even being a rival I'm always watching their matches due to how satisfying it is to watch them play
I'm a Fluminense supporter Unfortunately for us, our captain, Nino will move to Nottingham Forest in January And here in brazil, the word was that the Fluminense president and André had a deal for him to stay in 2023 and chase libertadores no matter what. Now that libertadores is over, the club is awaiting 30+ million euros offers for him. As a Fluminense fan, even knowing thats a lot of money, i would say that's a bargain. He isn't a player easily replaced. This squad will never be forgotten

Your video is really good, man. Thanks for spreading the word and showing some of Diniz's brilliant style in Europe. goodbye and Saudações Tricolores 😀
Diniz´s tactics haven´t worked on the National team yet, probably because most of the players are so deep into positional play, as most of the squad plays in europe. Vini and Bruno are two extraordinary players, but they haven´t developed that sense of relationism in the squad as much , as they left brazil pretty early and found their path on european football, so the roles on the pitch for them are still pretty much coincident to the positional play. Vini is stuck in the wing while Bruno lays back the game at times. Though, I believe on Diniz´s potential to bring back the Jogo Bonito, he just needs time, just like in the clubs, he always had quick stays at clubs, 9 months max, because results to relationism don´t come quick, so Fluminense believed on him and now they are Libertadores champions.
The recipe: Marcelo, won everything in Europe, returned to Brazil to continue winning with the team that created him, he is an insatiable multi-champion; Cano, goalscorer with more than 80% of his shots in just one touch of the ball and top scorer in the competition with 13 goals; John Kennedy, a boy but with the maturity of a winner, doesn't give up on the ball and is very skillful; Ganso, the team's conductor, distributes the ball as if he were conducting an orchestra; André, a giant midfielder, intelligent and with a lot of physical strength, knows how to defend very well when the game situation changes; Nino, a goalscoring defender, has a lot of presence in the area in both defense and attack; Fábio, senior goalkeeper (42 years old) but with sharp reflexes, in his 100th game for the Libertadores da América he was champion... I could talk here about all the ingredients on the field like Arias, Keno, Felipe Melo, etc, etc, etc. And not to be missed; Fernando Diniz, coach, psychologist and magician, has the team in hand and is very loved by the group who are very well trained for different situations in the game. The result: FLUMINENSE CHAMPION OF LIBERTADORES DA AMERICA IN 2023.
As Santos fan I enjoy what Dinis is doing. When he was Santos' coach i enjoy his work. Well good lucky Fluminense and hope see you play against ManCity
lots of good veterans in Flumense as well! Marcelo as former R.Madrid star, Felipe Melo is a legend at Galatasaray & Palmeiras, Ganso used to be the guy playing alongside Neymar and often performing with equal class, Keno has impressive skills, Cano is a fabulous striker, Fabio is an underrated GK and was also as important as the new blood John Kennedy & André a title to validate Diniz internationally and give Nense supporters their apex win
Sometimes novelty alone is sufficient to gain an advantage. Only time will determine if this system is a revolution or will be easily counteracted and fades into the annals if history.
At least in the context of Diniz, this isn't novelty, however. Quite the opposite, Diniz has being playing this kind of football from the beginning, and he has been very well known in Brazil for quite the long time. His tactics have evolved, of course, but his essence is still the same. The reason he is only getting talked about more broadly recently is that this is the first time he's been able to convert his philosophy into titles. Previously, he has been known for building squads that play good football, but we're never quite able to get the top spot in anything. I know this doesn't necessarily mean this philosophy will be successful at the highest level of football, and I don't even disagree with you. All I'm saying is that, at least in Brazil, the more time goes on it seems that Diniz's relationism is the one ahead of the adaptation curve, not the other way around.
He is developing this system since 2014 at least. It only got better with time. Its not a mere possibility, it's a reality now that Fluminense has won the Libertadores. I dont know if it will ever surpass Guardiola's tactics, for example, but novelty is definitely not the cause of its success.
We also need to thank Dr Eduardo, his assistant coach. He is responsible for the defense and together they managed to evolve a lot tactically@@andreysantos6660
As a Fluminense's fan, I say congratulations on the video, great job. This style demands a lot of training, I don't think it would work on a national team that trains a lot less together. Ancelotti is expected to train Brazil after his contract with Real and Diniz will keep 100% on Flu. Nino is already 26, but he is doing a great job and deserves better then the team in England he is probably going to. As far as Diniz, he is very stuborn with the players he likes, even though they dont't deliver and he likes the team to pass the ball too much on the defense when the keeper starts the play.
The problem with these tactics is that they can't be implemented with players playing in different leagues, that is why it is hard for him to implement it with the national team. The brazilian players playing in Europe are so used to positional football tactics that it is hard to grasp the concepts of Relationalism also he doesn't get enough time with them to train and drill the movements until they can grasp them. After the international break is over they go back to their clubs. That is why, these tactics will never reach the heights of positional play in terms of being implemented by European teams.
I believe that in national team be hard implement, because he not have time for working. But in team inside europe is possible, because in the brazil the teans also playing posicional game, and Diniz implement in taem that for training e not have much dificu.
He played 4 games only with the National team. He had to let the guys who went to the Cup have their chance and also test others. If Brazil qualifies in third or fourth, doesn't matter, if the football played in the second half of the qualifiers is good. The last 2 times Brazil won the Cup, it struggled to qualify.
Sou torcedor do Fluminense.
It's not about occupying the same position. It's about keeping a line between players without opposition. Its about creating passing options, opportunities for dummies etc. Thinking about positional play is talking about space, you can draw lines, but you are thinking about area. If you talk about relational play, that's all about the lines, you can talk about the overload in a specific area, but you are always thinking about the lines. Look at the amount of options that everyone have when they have the ball, everyone else gravitates towards them to create more lines of options
Nice to see a very respectful analysis of Diniz. Yes, Europe has the best players, because they have the $$$$ to hire south americans for example. Copa Libertadores is probably the hardest competition to win, since the money gap between the clubs is not the abyss Europe has with other clubs. There is also the whole atmosphere, the fact that is way harder to keep the elite players since they'll leave for Europe or retire since are veterans. Champions League is awesome, but will never be La Copa.
Diniz attracts all the opposing team's players to just one side of the field. Generating numerical superiority in another sector. It is the deconstruction of the positional game. We are facing the appositional game. Genius, genius, genius
PH Ganso. Played number 10 for Brazil back in 2011. Was considered a flop at Sevilla but this system has brought him back from the football scrap heap. What a player
Have u seen, at the 1st goal, Ganso pointing to keep rolling the ball but the players went to attack? That was a few options for the players. That what Diniz can show. Players can rotate as if it was futsal.@@austinedeclan10
Im curious to see if Diniz learn something more after "failed" at Brazil national team. Now he is going to coach my Cruzeiro. Your videos are very good man
Although there is a lot of freedom and movement between the players, Marcelo in particular has special freedom to go into the middle, at the end of the state champion he scored a goal as a right winger. His replacement in the Libertadores final, Diego Barbosa plays a much more traditional left-back role, without floating, almost scoring the title goal in the 90th minutes.
As a Fluminense Fan, i'm very proud to see a video like that. 15 years ago, we lost the Libertadores's Final, and today, after this long time, we have our redenption. Our team have a lot of good players like John Arias, Ganso, Marcelo, Cano, and it's a great reason to be happy with the beautiful game that we show to the world. Diniz is a intelligent manager, with good ideas, but he need to improve the defense of his teams, but he achieved it in this year, the play style was very improved, with good central back like Nino and Felipe Melo and awesomes left and right back, Diogo Barbosa/Marcelo and Samuel Xavier. The most underrated player from that team is definitely Fábio. It's been almost 15 years he's one of the best if not the best goalkeeper in Brazil and yet he never got the chance to play in the Seleção. The 7x1 would've never happened with Fábio in goal. Top 5 Brazilian keeper in history with record amount of clean sheets

Thats amazing content!!! As brazilian, Fernando Diniz is not just changing everything we know about football tatics, but also he is changing how we treat football players, clubs and all aspects around our football structure. Besides football coach, he is psychologist and he faces the football world ( which is Brazil is really tough) from a different perspective. If you look for his enterviews he always come up with the importance of support the players, especially mentally, because we know the humble origins of football players in brazil and sometimes this mens are not ready to assume this pressure. I would say that he is the brazilian Ted Lasso, as he always says, "winning is not important. Important is to be a great man, great husband, dad and son".

Im a Grêmio fan, and also a huge admirer of Diniz work in Fluminense. Congrats for your video! Amazing critical vision and knowledge of the game. Im afraid we do not have this level of analysis here in Brasil. Cheers!
the idea of one player comfortably assuming different positions is simple but yet genius! I see this as an evolution for football, making in more interesting and competitive. Great video btw
The most important variation that you didn’t mention is having both wingers playing together on the same side. Keno plays 1-2 with John Arias before crossing to Cano. That’s Diniz trademark.
I heard james on the radio sunday night. I was randomly listening to internet radio from west coast america and whose voice did i hear? Our boy james!!!! Although i did feel like the guy interviewing him was acting stupid. Like what james does as a ‘youtuber’ was some kind of crazy job from the future. But i was happy for james nonetheless
Great job! Nice of you to explain it so well to people like me who little about tactical studies on the pitch. As a Brazilian I would add a short comment about Fernando Diniz. He coached my Tricolor - São Paulo Futebol Clube - back in 2020 and the results were pretty miserable. We had more than 12 points lead to the 2nd place and he still managed to lose the « Brasileirão » - our Premier League - My opinion is that Mr. Diniz lacks is experience and true knowledge. Time will tell who is right, thanks.
During Boca Juniors Goal, the rignt defensor (Samuel Xavier) was waiting to return for the match on the sideline for almost 1 minute and the referee did not allow him to return. So the deffense was not fully adjusted during the goa. BTW, what a F*** of referee...
@@paralleluniverse99while Santos did have more outstanding players, Fluminense is the birthplace of brazillian football in the way it is. The oldest big club, our stadium being the first home of the national team, and for over 50 years being undoubtedly the biggest club in Brazil.

Diniz could in fact in a few years get to coach, say, a Spanish team of the middle ranking ones. It would take him two Seasons to achieve the first four or five.
There are some key elements that you haven´t talked about: 1) Nino, the captain of the team is another player that will problaby be in Europe very soon. 2) You should hear about the players talking about the training. It´s been said that Diniz puts the reserve squad with 12 players to force the main squad to be very sharp when creating the plays. He made the goalkeeper train his footwork so they could be more efficient when starting the moves. 3) Another detail is that Diniz is a former futsal player. That said, what he does is imagine the field is composed by several futsal courts where he puts more players in order to have more players close to the ball, making difficult for the opponent to defend.
It is important to remember that Fernando Diniz was treated as a failure in Brazilian football, even more so after the 20/21 season in which the team he led at the time, São Paulo FC (my team haha) lost a “won” championship (Brasileirão), I think VERY cool to see not only Brazilians but also foreigners finally valuing the figure that Diniz is
Hm, regarding that, doesn't it just sound very Johann Cruijff like Total Voetbal approach? I remember reading about that and it was very hard to implement. Hell, even Guardiola failed to do it in Barcelona. It is about players not having set positions on pitch, interchanging positions with one another (so yes, midfielder can play as defender or defender as attacker). It required a LOT of strenous training and mentality to pull off. If someone does that right now, he will be touted as tactical genius who invented football anew. Is Fluminense coach doing it? I don't know, but would be interesting to see.
Diniz takes inspiration from the 1982 Brazilian NT but with a modern approach... Brazil used to play like that way before Cruyff under coaches like Tele Santana... Diniz is just doing it in a modernized way cuz according to him he kinda wants to save the Brazilian style of football and not just copy europeans as Brazil started doing recently.
@@JVRD27Im talking abt Cruyff as a coach and I used Tele as an example but there were also brazilian coaches from the 60s like Luis Alonso Perez also known as "Lula" who coached Pelé's Santos from 1954 to 1966... There was also Feola who won Brazil's first world cup... Another inspiration for him is the 1981 Flamengo team...
Another underrated player from the fluminense squad is Jhon Arias. The guy never loses the ball and also has an incredible work rate whilst never getting tired.
Dude is a machine, he played two full games, went to play for Colombia, came back and played another 90 minutes. Our little engine!

In addition to all this, there are two very curious facts about striker Germán Cano.
1) He has scored 13 goals in 12 games. No other player has scored so many goals in a single Libertadores edition in the 21st century.
2) He has been the world's top scorer for clubs since 2022
Players with the most goals in the world (by club) since the start of 2022:
81 - 🇦🇷 Germán Cano (Fluminense)
77 - 🇳🇴 Erling Haaland (Dortmund / Manchester City)
77 - 🇫🇷 Kylian Mbappé (PSG)
65 - 🏴 Harry Kane (Tottenham / Bayern)
64 - 🇫🇷 Karim Benzema (Real Madrid / Al-Ittihad)

@@SantomPhYes. Brazillian teams play a lot more games than european teams do, so the stat is kind of unfair. Still, it is impressive.

the press here in Brazil us saying that Arsenal and Fulham are on the race to sign him alongside Liverpool.....Arsenal got a brazilian Sporting Director, this help the talks.
I've read that Liverpool's bid for André was below the release clause, Fluminense already has deals for Nino (defender) with Nottingham Forest, Liverpool can still reach a deal to have him after december, when the Brazilian season ends.

In 2008, the team went to its first Libertadores Final ever.
It was, at most, the 4th game Diniz had and the players clearly are trying to adapt to his style of play, since most of them play a positional style in Europe and you can see it on the highlights of every Brazil match.@@Tuca46
And besides that, he is dividing responsibilities with Fluminense and the National Team as well and at that time, Fluminense had a semifinal of Libertadores ahead of them.

Really interesting tactics and great to see Fluminense win their first ever Copa Libertadores.
I really hope Diniz succeeds in the Brazil national team job
Corinthians ja fez uns 10 gols no fluminense em contra-ataque, estamos falando do Corinthians ul time mediocre pra fazer gols

One aspect to Diniz' work that I believe is often overlooked is the way he works with the players themselves.
Well said.
A potential CWC final with City could be really interesting

Let's keep In mind that the 1982 World Cup was held in Spain and Pep Guardiola has openly said during interviews that he based some of this ideas on the tactics of that team, which unfortunately ended up losing to Italy and which is the greatest translation of "Joga bonito", the term that you guys from abroad admire so much and that we Brazilians have also adopted after the Nike ads hahaha
The bottom line is this: You can't tell which was the specific origin of relativism in Football, but certainly, the Brazilian team of '70 had a big influence on this ideology.

Corinthians was the last one but It It had some luck to face Chelsea without Drogba instead of Bayern or Real Madrid (or Even Chelsea with Drogba instead of Fernando Torres)
But since than It is a fact that Brazil seldomly adopted skilled central midfielders like Cerezo and Falcão, opting instead for players like Dunga and Mauro Silva or Gilberto Silva and Kleberson.
Fernando Diniz often used to go to the high school I studied at to talk with the futsal coach - which was my coach at the time.
VICTORY, FLUMINENSE!!!

Diniz is my last hope for brazilian football

Andre trinidad and that guy who played no 10 once for brazil way back are the main connectors of the team .

It's DiNiZismo lol
Dinizismo* ❤
Although there is a lot of freedom and movement between the players, Marcelo in particular has special freedom to go into the middle, at the end of the state champion he scored a goal as a right winger.
His replacement in the Libertadores final, Diego Barbosa plays a much more traditional left-back role, without floating, almost scoring the title goal in the 90th minutes.
man I just really hope they don't lose against Al-Ittihad. No matter how it will end, I want a Fluminense vs Man. City.
I love this team and i'm very gratefull for the awesome work of Diniz and Fluminense in this year.
VITÓRIA, FLUMINENSE! VAAAAAMOS TRICOLOORES, CHEGOU A HORA CELEBRAR A LIBERTADORES❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚🧸
Fabio learned how to play with his foot. He’s “just” 43 now but I understand that u r speaking about his hole career, even not at Fluminense.
Total football everyone attributes to Cruyff took a lot of pointers from the style of Jimmy Hogan who coached the amazing Hungarian team with Puskas. Jimmy comes from working class town near Burnley in Lancashire but primarily coached abroad.
Video is a banger. First time watching. Subscribed immediately
“Created in Great Britain and perfected in Laranjeiras” 🇭🇺 Excellent explanation! Soon, Diniz x Guardiola at the Club World Cup 🏆 Fluminense against Man. City 🙌🏼
I'm so happy that you guys enjoy and learn about this dangerous and magnific way to play football, I'm from brazil and that's my team
Nice video, you should make one only for André, this guy is a serious candidate to be an top player from premier league or any top team. If you Sofascore has a lot of his stats.
Great video

Im a Grêmio fan, and also a huge admirer of Diniz work in Fluminense. Congrats for your video! Amazing critical vision and knowledge of the game. Im afraid we do not have this level of analysis here in Brasil. Cheers!
Fluminense fan here, loved your video and all the insights about Fernando Diniz. I’m a big fan of him as well.
Would you believe me if I told you your take on Diniz makes more sense than the ones I see here in Brazil (and in Portuguese!)? Thanks and congrats!
the idea of one player comfortably assuming different positions is simple but yet genius!
I'm brazilian and Fluminense's fan. Congratulations for a such great analysis.
in brazil, we call the tatics used by him called "dinizismo",
Campeão da libertadores!!!! Vamos tricolores!!!
Have u seen how long he was off? Crazy! RolBan was high……

You're not Santos, mate 😂
@@paralleluniverse99while Santos did have more outstanding players, Fluminense is the birthplace of brazillian football in the way it is. The oldest big club, our stadium being the first home of the national team, and for over 50 years being undoubtedly the biggest club in Brazil.

@@JVRD27, the birthplace of "Seleção Brasileira", the Brazil national team. Fluminense stadium was the first home of Seleção Brasileira, and the place where the Seleção won its first championship. Football is a game of spaces.
Smartest players create spaces with and without the ball making the right move to receive the ball.
I was waiting for this video
he was the coach of my team back in 2018 (Athletico-PR) I remember that I liked him but it didn't work cause we didn't have enough talent (he was at relegation when got sacked) but helped Bruno Guimarães become the player he current is, and also the rest of the team, they just used it more pragmatically with a different coach and won our first major international trophy with south american cup (europa league of us), I was at the stadium and my happiest day at club football
Many Brazilians would love the possibility of seeing this. Could you put subtitles in Portuguese in an upcoming video?
Diniz could in fact in a few years get to coach, say, a Spanish team of the middle ranking ones. It would take him two Seasons to achieve the first four or five.
Nooooo!!! He will be our Ferguson!! Heheheh
Fluminense! Thank you for the content.

The way fluminense play football is amazing, no one else on this Planet play like them, is Great to see and watch
Yeah it's a tactic created by Diniz based on futsal
That’s thenway I see it too. I imagine the same lines the video showed us but with futsal players @@joaovitorcamargo7165
Obrigado por este vídeo!
There are some key elements that you haven´t talked about:
1) Nino, the captain of the team is another player that will problaby be in Europe very soon.
It is important to remember that Fernando Diniz was treated as a failure in Brazilian football, even more so after the 20/21 season in which the team he led at the time, São Paulo FC (my team haha) lost a “won” championship (Brasileirão), I think VERY cool to see not only Brazilians but also foreigners finally valuing the figure that Diniz is
look at malmo under rydstrom! hes also doing this, thu influence of fluminense
Cheers from Brazil!
Parabéns pelo conteúdo do vídeo. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks for covering South American football!
I love Germán Cano and Kennedy! When I saw that someone named John Kennedy was entering the pitch I knew it was all over for Boca.
Fluminense 👏
Saudações Tricolores 🇭🇺
@@henry247Cruyff is from an older generation than 1982 and Tele's national teams
@@henry247Brazil 1982 is very different from Holland team anyway
@@JVRD27 Cruyff started his managerial career in 1985 with Ajax.
