05:21 Creating Options to Attack
07:37 Final Third Structure and Defensive Weakness - Спорт
This reminds me of Hungary’s golden era. Lots of player rotation and emphasis on just scoring one more goal rather than defensive cynicism. Also Hungary played a WM which Girona can often morph into.
Well, actually Hungary broke the WM with 4-2-4 as basic formation, even though in attacking phase it was more of a 2-3-5, with Hidegkuti Nandor being particularily important as he drew markers out of their zond
They will win the league
@@kestee3240 they will not!! their H2H against top 5 teams is very poor, and h2h matters more in la liga!!
Honestly the possession and free positioning, the first mention of these things reminded me of cryuff's dutch team
Wm means
Maybe i'm wrong, but i have the impression that Fernando Diniz tatics style are inspiring coach's in Europe.
You're not wrong.
It's just for me, Dinizball is something that I have been in awe of for years, long before I heard about him, so it could just be that some of this coaches too are trying out their own ideas without his influence.
But Diniz can take the credit because he's the one doing it having caught the eye of most people, thus serving as a reference point.
was about to comment that, u fortunately dinizismo has qiite worked out on the brazillian national team as of recent, which would give his ideas a lot more visibilty. I really hope he gets another chance to prove himself for the Seleção.
@@dunebuggyslsk6085the problem is this tactic need time to understand and to practice perfectly, and with the national team you dont have time to work..
@@mikaelortega12- absolutely right and the only reason Spain understood a complicated style of football like Barcelona's famous positional play (Tiki Taka) was because they literally had almost half of that iconic Barcelona team.
@@mikaelortega12-yep, it takes time. Not easy to implement
Wherever Daley Blind goes, footballing beauty follows
It's crazy how much he influences a team, so underrated
Except Manchester United, however that club could kill even Zidane with their current state.
@@FullstackDeveloper-hh9jwkilled Di Maria, killed Sanchez, and the list can go on
@@FullstackDeveloper-hh9jw should it be renamed to Ferguson United?
@@pridify are you crazy?💀
Been watching this channel since the pandemic when you started it. Analysis was great then and great now but it’s super cool to watch you progress the production value! Keep it up man!
Thanks bro 🙌
Agreed. The graphics make it easier to understand. Labelling or numbering the positions would be useful to track their movements in this video as this is the underlying theme.
@@scokim good suggestion, I'll see if I can add fixed player numbers to each peg to make it easier to follow
Are you allowed to do longer clips that actually show more play?@@FootballMeta
its very risky, copyright claims are not fun to deal with so I don't feel like pushing it any further with the clips I use@@ShoshonSun
Please try focusing more on defensive tactics as well, it's an area mostly undermined. Yet you can't win football without it. It will also help us grassroot coaches develop that aspect as well.
There are so many buildup and attacking advanced stats but not very many advanced defensive stats. One example could be that not all tackles are equal. Some stats platforms highlight last man, or goal-saving tackles. It would be interesting if tackles were see as xg or xA prevented. It could be a defensive version of xOVA (expected offensive value added). it could be called xDVA :)
@@pattisonvidal3909he’s not talking about defensive stats, he refers more to defensive shape, which sectors of the pitch they tend to press and etc
Defensive tactics are boring to watch for me
I would love to, but I always get caught in two minds whether it's worth it or not. While I do enjoy talking about it, views usually drop quite quickly when I talk about a team's defensive structure, and overall it's not great for the algorithm as a significant portion of viewers are not interested haha
@@FootballMeta Well, I understand, but then there should be a bit of a balance between attacking and defending in your videos. One team whose defense has been undermined a lot has been Brighton. They press brilliantly but much focus has been placed on their attack. It's very difficult getting videos on defensive tactics.
this has to be my favourite tactical analysis channel very informative and explains in-depth in an easy and understandable way keep up the good work
This is why club should looking for high class football brain manager. He used players at his disposal with high efficiency unlike some club relying on buying big players to improve but Girona using tactic and strategy to win games.
They remind me a little of Leeds under Bielsa with the shapes and patterns of play
leeds under bielsa so dangerous (mu fan)
Except Girona actually have a pretty good defence, the same cannot be said about Leeds under Bielsa in the EPL
@@ScaroMK when he had a fit 11 with half decent players we came 9th and had a better GD than 95% of the teams below 10th.
@@afzerl2708 yeah I really enjoyed that time in our history, even if it meant we got smashed 7-0 sometimes 😂😂
It's like Bielsa remixed by Diniz. Very impressive. Great video as always.
Yes, this approach looks like it takes inspiration from how many of us started playing football/ futsal for fun. I remember developing chemistry with team mates in small sided games. You develop game intelligence and instinctive tactics ( real time) by clocking time playing together and against various opposition.
Surprised you're not playing professionally with those skills hahahahaha
This team was worth a video for too long!! Happy to see a breakdown
Good analysis
Been waiting for it in a while
Please don't forget to digest stuggart's tactics for us
What would be your opinion on Herrera's role in Girona's tactical setup? In our national team, he plays as box to box center midfielder, but from your analysis it seems that in his club he also helps more with the build up
Very cool to see the quality and presentation of your videos improve over time. Well done 👏 Keep up the great work!
Thanks mate!
One of the best product adds, blended with the subject wonderfully! Great job 👍
100% agree. A very intriguing buildup style. You did not mention where they rank in chance creation or xG and xGOT per shot. They are ranked 1st for goal conversion.
3rd for xG and 1st for xG per shot 😉
Should also mention that to cover the defensive weaknesses they sometimes play a 343, so when Blind pushes up there is still 2 CBs to cover for the counter.
I'm absolutely in love with their style of playing 😍😍💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥 AMAZING GIRONA
I can watch and listening to this explanation over and over again.
Gave you a like simply based on how smooth you incorporated the ad into the video content itself.
Its beautiful to see people experimenting with different styles
Fernando Diniz and Ange Postecoglou might be two of the most innovative coaches in europe atm playing fluid and dynamic football where players move into the space presented on the pitch and others cover the space they vacate. excellent video, thx
Angie has been found out already, Totscum going nowhere this season.
Great content as always bro!
Thanks bro
This is absolutely amazing analysis
Great analysis 🔥🔥
Great video waiting for the Girona Barca review
Reminds me a lot of the free positioning and rotation of Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso. With Grimaldo moving into a CM position very often for example
Imagine this years Girona vs Bayer, it would be so crazy to watch.
@@henney1075 would love to see that
@@henney1075imagine last years Brighton vs This years Girona?
Or Napoli with Zarri in 2017 vs Girona?
I think both times they would come up short!
Finally, thank you :)))
Seems similar to Diniz
I might need to invest in Girona stock
great job🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Oooooh there is a stadium now
Great watch 👍
The way they play is beautyfull brave and effective as a real madrid i still support girona if they win they title theu are deserving it🎉🎉
You're underrated!
I hope Girona can do a Leicester in la liga
Nah, Girona is part of the city group. No matter how well they play, it would be bad to have a team like that at the top
And I don't think they can stay up there. Maybe Conference League.
@@J-Pele-Jwould be amazing. I love watching people optimise football tactics and play, and girona is doing an extraordinary job at it.
@@J-Pele-JYou and other say shit like this as if they benefit financially. They are part of a group but their finances are still theirs, they only benefit from things like more accessibly loans from teams in the city group. Girona have MUUUUUCH less money and training facilities than Leicester had when thy won the league. Go fucking learn something.
@@J-Pele-J Jealously at its finest i think we would love them to win it better then real madrid or barca just winning another one
Good explanation! Just watched Girona vs Bilbao, ended 1-1. High energy match up with both teams esp aggressive in first ten mins
Change is good. Tactics evolve and this is a prime example.
Take a look at Fluminense - Brazilian team that will face Man City this week. They play something similar, with "no fixed structure".
Such interesting tactics, hopefully can be replicated in FM.
I wanna see Girona vs Bayer Leverkusen
Or Vs Brighton,
Please make a video on 3-2-3-2 formation both explaining it defensively and attackingly please explain it only you are the one who can do this.
its just like the arteta arsenal formation and playin style, that is call inverter full back
girona and leverkusen are cooking something this season
Thats another way of playing Total Football.
It will be very difficult to make atleast one easy pass if your opponent is 433 the offside line is high if girona play the 3-3- 4, difficult for the wingers to link up or to continue play. However only if there is a switch in the other flank to explore the biggest space like two forwards close to each other or midfielders came closer to a tackle. Madrid are playing a better game with short passes and running all together
Hi, what app did you use for this video? It looks amazing and seems reliable to help with my animation for tactics! Would appreciate if you could share 😊
Hey man I use davinci resolve for all the effects, I do all the animations in the fusion page
@@FootballMetaAppreciate it alot mate, looking forward to more of your uploads. God bless you!
Welcome back the Football of the time of Cholera. 50 years with constant changing of tactics, only to go back to basic. Just like the characters in Love of the time of Cholera by Marquez.
Im your big fan from Kenya
I really enjoy creative approaches to the game. In the U.S. there is a fear of doing anything different, from what I havr seen at least. People
have a hard time getting my past whatever dogma happens to be populat at a larticulwr moment.
I think their tactics are brilliant. If they can find a way to keep employing those shifty, rotating, modular concepts, but make a couple of adjustments to shore up the defence a bit, watch out! It would really be something if they could keep this going all the way . . .
Bud supports terroristss
Girona's finishing in the top 4...at worst top 6. Nice analysis sir, I'm definitely incorporating this style to my School's team... sometimes better defence is the tactical offence (which creates more chances and goals).
Just almost like the Arsenal's formation and style. And most of the time, we have only 2 CB at the back close the middle of the pitch. At the starting line. The rest inside the opponent's half third half of the pitch. But sadly we don't have good or clinical finisher in front of goal.
Just another replica of Fernando Diniz Beautiful football very entertaining love it,,, great content ❤❤❤
It's true street football
I've played so much and I saw it with pep and girona
Good video, but you really need to show us more of the game highlights, for more clarity
They will end up surely in the top 3.
It’s fluid form.
Like Bruce Lee said “Be water”.
Spain produces the best tactical managers at the moment.
hello, pls could you tell us the football board app youre using? I cant find it on soccerment
Chelsea and Liverpool should try these tactics but with the halves of the field switched so it’s Alexander Arnold and Reece James bombing forward
Chelsea could have done it. They however gave their own Daley Blind in Azpi to Atletico, so likely won't happen.
@@FullstackDeveloper-hh9jw you still have the likes of Disasi and Colwill who can play as fullback and centre backs
Girona, Leverkusan, Flumanice (the brazilan team) and PSV. All attacking teamz with a fluid motion and creativity unlike any other teams in the world
#Girona!
É 4 por dentro e 2 por fora, não tem defesa que segure. Pode até ter, mas o time vai abrir mão de atacar pra se defender o jogo todo.
On the ball movements create passing options. Off the ball movements create covers.
The city football group is destroying football all around the world… Now they arrived in Spain
it’s not like england in spain there is real madrid and barcelona
Not the same case, in England only one team is winning the league. In Spain, there have been 3 different champions in the last 3 years. And another team is leading the table now as well.
@@Coach-rq6jx I mean in the last 10 years EPL already have 5 different champions meanwhile in la Liga only 3
@@ozymandias1698because the epl has more revenue lol
@@ozymandias1698 That doesn't support your case at all. In fact, it proves that the City group and its money have changed the dynamics of EPL in just under 10 years. From 5 different champions in 10 years to just 2 in 5 years, that too with Man City winning it 4 times in 5. You didn't think that through, huh.
they play fantastic football, it’s a very intriguing buildup they use
this is so accurate
Very high and I enjoy them.
Blind been outstanding.
I would love them to ship Riqui Puig back from the MLS to play an Iniesta-lite role, moving quite freely in space giving out clever passes.
From the MLS? hahahaha be serious buddy, no one from the MLS is good enough.
Asymmetry is beautiful.
Do one comparing Botafogo's first half season and the second half
can you make a video about barcelona, maybe you can find a solution before xavi
Would love to hear the tactics behind Allegri's Juventus with their financial problems. Challenging for the title is impressive.
This explains the experimentation that is going on in Chelsea. Colwill is the left back, Chillwell is the attacking winger although Enzo plays further up front, I don't particularly like it as its not working and seems like a waste of potential with the current Chelsea squad. It'll work with experienced players who are willing to try new things the way Victor Moses was successfully transitioned into a wing back or Sergio Ramos was transitioned into a center back but not with young lads trying to find their feet.
Really this allows you to put the true best 10 players out on the field instead of having multiple players at same position forcing them to put some on the bench
It's fascinating that you and Raj Chohan of @PremierLeaguePanel are Chelsea fans!
PremierLeaguePanel is a Coventry City fan
I thought premier league panel was Liverpool fan 😅
@@Saeroye , it was a post he made this recent past on Twitter/ X, the night Spurs hosted Chelsea

Michel is pronounced like Mitchell with the stress on the second syllable.
He could be a next coach of Real Madrid or Barca or ManCity 😊
We need this tactic on FM 24!
Girona played only 2 teams from the top 5 , Madrid and Sociedad and they dropped 5 points against these 2, most of their games from here till january are against top 10 teams, they will come back to earth come january end!!
Bellingam bailed out RM against Gorona. They played really well, but lost due to player's individual brilliance.
@@daggerfernGirona hasn’t looked good against any of the actual strong teams btw. They were so lucky against Real Sociedad that they didn’t concede more and against Bilbao their naive approach to attack stroke back. Against Barça and Atletico they just can’t play like this they will get punished which is what happened against Madrid too.
@@Eruma_27 well well well they thumped BARCELONA that too in CAMP NOU lol so next is ATHELTICO alone and return fixture of RMA
@@Eruma_27 well well well they won ATLETICO too... So I'm sorry to tell this but I think your comment has aged very bad.
This comment aged like milk.
Your analysis is excellent, but there are some points you missed.
Players are always close to each other.
Running without the ball leads to the creation of space and opportunities
If the ball in the left side, the majority of the players will be in the left side to ask the ball or run without the ball, and vice versa for the other side. Attacking the center is not something they will do.
Reminds me of Jose Mourinho with Porto
Kaka unajua sana kmmk 🙌🙌🙌
This team came out of nowhere who only knows three team in top Real, Atheletico n Barcelona mostly take every silverware!
Sevilla is doing good but not always stay on top.
I’m blown away by this team
Can you please analyse Tuchels Tactics at Bayern?
Nothing big to analyze, he throws in his expensive players and hopes he will win somehow. Watched their games and hardly see any system at all. Not like Bayern under Flick or Heynckes...
Xavi should've watched this video!
Barca need this type of tactics and coach
Please I have been working on my strategic ideas hope to meet you am your biggest fan Euginiah
Sporting has been playing like this since Ruben Amorim took over. First year immediately champion. Formation is 5-3-2 although the wingers are not actual defenders but rather attacking wingers. First season defensive midfield was reassured by J.Palhinha who was substituted by M.Ugarte after move to Fullham. Once M.Ugarte was sold as well the midfield adapted into a more dinamic version of the first system and Hjulmand was acquired to give the team the physical presence lacking with the move from Ugarte to PSG. First season Sporting didn't even had a striker. Too goal scorer was midfielder P.Gonçalves. Now that Gyokeres was acquired from Coventry the system became a carbon copy of Girona's system. Despite heavy investment from rival Benfica Sporting put up a squad based on theoretical humble signings. In the portuguese league they acquired N.Santos (Rio Ave) P.Gonçalves and Ugarte (Famalicão) , M.Edwards (Guimarães), Diomande (Mafra 2nd tier) and added academy talent, N.Mendes (now PSG), Tiago Tomás (currently Bundesliga),E.Quaresma (back in the first team after loan to Tondela), Essugo (future defensive midfielder age 18), D.Bragança (next J.Moutinho), G.Inacio (team's #1 CB since he's 20). If Sporting keeps its squad specially V.Gyokeres it will be a good team alongside Girona in the next ECL.
This is relationalism from south America
Barca video any time soon? 🙏
Make video of PSV 15 matches 15 win incredible
Very much similar to Tuchel Chelsea style with the overlapping center backs
Will this be effective in the prem? Like against Everton and Brentford low blocks
That’s what I was thinking, typically though for attacking teams Everton and Brentford are a pain to play against, just another indicator that Girona is heading in right direction
Probably, but harder to execute because of the higher quality of opposing players
❤
I imagine that they used AI for the scouting, because all of them fits perfectly. Otherwise, the scouting team are crazy!
See you can argue with today's modern attacking football philosophy that center backs are the most crucial part, it's extremely important to have very fast and physical defenders so when you overload offensively leaving two people in the back won't be as unsafe if they are physically up to par
They can play a high risk game they have no pressure to win the league
