Question of the week: have you implemented any of these pattern modifications or another?
    How to change your gauge:
[(your inches per stitches)/(the pattern’s inches per stitch)] x100 = the percentage of the pattern you will get with your gauge
To get inches per stitch, simply flip the denominators of the stitches per 4 inches measurement and divide. (Example: a 20 stitch per 4 inch gauge means there are 4 inches for 20 stitches, or 0.2 inches per stitch)
    Example: (0.2/0.1)x100= 200%
    Gauges:
    40 stitches per 4 inches= 4/40= 0.1 inches per stitch
    20 stitches per 4 inches= 2/40= 0.2 inches per stitch
Once you have your percentage of the pattern, multiply that percentage (as a decimal, ie 200% would be 2, 89% would be .89) by the measurements of the sizes in the pattern to find what size you will achieve
Example: 30 inch bust circumference x2= 60 inch bust circumference
If you are interested in any of the patterns or projects I showed today and would like more information, you can check my Ravelry projects or send me a message on Instagram and I’m happy to share more about the patterns, yarns, and overall projects!

A great video! I’m definitely one of those people that rarely do 0 modifications, so if anything I need the opposite video of this 😂 Just here to plug my favourite modification: steeking! Wanna make a stockinette cardigan without having to knit flat? Just add a few steek stitches to the centre front, knit it in the round, secure the steek with two rows of crochet, and cut it open! Then you pick up for your button band as normal. People are so scared of steeking, but it is honestly one of my favourites

You’re so brave!! That’s a great modification though. I know so many knitters that want more cardigans but don’t want to knit flat

Loved your video. I have done some of these mods because I have also dabbled in designing basic sweaters. However, you have gotten my creative juices flowing for any new projects I plan to make in the future. Thanks for your thorough explanations.

this video is a total lifesaver! I want to make a matching set with the Eva Cardigan by PetiteKnit and the 9pm tank, but the suggested yarns are different weights (dk and fingering). I knew I was going to have to adjust my gauge for the 9pm tank but I had no idea how. Your explanation helped so much thank you!!
