I knew I would like this video as soon as you said “no cap sleeves”. I HATE cap sleeves. Thank you for this video!!!!
The magic words "no boatneck" , and one of the eternal questions; Follow!
This is also my first time watching you and you crack me up in a very good way. I love all your little comments and opinions :)
So refreshing to find a podcaster who knows what she likes and expresses it in her choices! 👏👏
Grrrrl… it is already in the 80’s where this knitter lives and all the podcasters are still knitting big yoke sweaters out of Plotulopi. Thank you so much for talking about t-shirts!!!!
My first time watching you. What a wealth of information! You really nailed it with all your research. Thank you for your honest opinion on them!
'All good tee' by Knitonomy looks like a good all rounder; and she also released 'All good dress' which is ideal if you like t-shirt type of dresses.
I like that you talked about what you were looking for in a knit tee and why 😂 well put together and fun to watch! 🎉
I agree about all the features you described!
i was looking for exactly the same criteria in a knit tee so this video came at just the right time haha
This episode was so timely! I'm currently looking for a summer tee to knit so thank you for some great ideas!
Also a first-time viewer here. We have the same opinion about V necks and boat necks! I’ve added the Riley Tee and Duo Top as potential contenders for my spring knit list.
Great info. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting for those of us interested in knitting up some summer tops. Good luck on your projects!
Great list and appreciate the time you spent compiling this list.
Great job! Absolutely love your resume and the designs you picked! Thank you!!!
I'm knitting the me oh my tee and it's been quick fun and satisfying to knit! the pattern is clear and has videos for the tricky bits
This was really informative and to the point. I've been looking for the perfect t-shirt pattern for the whole week. Thanks
Thank you for an organized/ well thought out video … really appreciate your curation of these patterns 😊
Thank you for this beautiful round-up of tees!!
What a great list of patterns! Thank you!
Thanks for the suggestions! I just ordered a cotton yarn but hadn’t chosen a pattern yet. You read my mind.
Thank you for such great research … it is a wonderful array of patterns!
I have knit two Moonset tees and I am absolutely in love them!!
What a great list! Thank you for sharing this with us ❤
Thank you for all the knit t-shirt design suggestions. I have added a couple to my Ravelry Queue. 😊
Love a good t-shirt knit. Although, I would use fingering weight as it has more of a t-shirt feel fabric as opposed to a "sweater" feel that a sport or dk weight would give. I'm not about how fast I can get it done, but whether how often I would wear it once finished. Great video with lots to think about in design features!
First time watching you. I really like your raw, straight forward commentary.
Yes. to all. ESP to the criteria you set out with in the very beginning. I'm glad you included the Square Tee to this list because that was one of the first designs that came to mind when you initially started out. I tested the Square Tee and it was a really great pattern to knit. I gifted it to my cousin who wears it all the time.
Very informative.... Thanks for doing the research for us. I only use V-neck tee shirts, so that made my selection easy. Going for the seedling tee, and making the arms longer..... enjoyed this first time with you!
Thank you! I really enjoyed your podcast episode!
Love your recommendations. Your criteria is the same as mine so this list is just perfect!!
First time watching your podcast. First of all thank you for the amazing searching work. Your descriptions were so detailed and useful. I might or might not agree with your idea of neck line or sleeve length but I’ll definitely will give this video a second look, save for future reference and share with knit buddies.
this is exactly what i needed 😳 i was already looking for tshirt patterns and i have pretty much the exact criteria as you!
I found your t-shirt pattern suggestions very useful. I live in Australia and need more lightweight garments for summer. Thank you.
I love your criteria ❤
Thank you for including the Seedling Tee, that was a lovely surprise. This is a great list, and I really appreciated how you explained your criteria ahead of time. Some of these other patterns are definitely saved in my favorites.
Thank you for your amazing designs!! I’ve heard so many great things about your patterns and how you design for fit so i was so excited to put this on the list 🥰
Excellent video! Thank you for sharing the results of all your hard work. Thanks to you, I am now knitting "the perfect knit t shirt".
Amazing timing. I've been researching summer t's and had semi settled on the petiteknits one 😂... might be reconsidering that for another of these great finds.
Thanks for the inspiration and how size inclusive this video was. Loved it ❤
Great info for future Knitz. Thank you. Your summaries and details were very helpful. Thank you.🦊
Thank you for this! I have yarn but am now trying to decide between some tee ideas. This is helpful for getting me to think about what I want to knit!
I’m making the Me Oh My Tee by Park Williams and it’s been great so far! Super easy knit and the DK really flies
Thank you - I came upon this video in my search for a good summer knits and wow! Thank you I like your style and that you are short and to the point! There are a bunch of nice patterns here as I have the same kind of criteria as you, thanks!
I knitted the perfect Knit T-shirt from Kaitlin Barthold. Great to knit, good fit and lovely to wear. Thanks for the list. I will definitely knit some more from it.
Thank you so much for doing the research
Great video -- thank you! The moonset tee has been in my queue for a while waiting for the perfect yarn.
A very nice list/choice of knitted T's! Enjoyed the discussion re each item. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your rabbit hole learnings! I'm saving this one in my faves for sure. You really did a lot of research that we will all benefit from.
What a great video! I am currently looking into knitting a t-shirt as well. Great info and inspo
Great suggestions, thank you!
Hi, thank you for your video and this great research. It’s my first time watching you-great thoughts before starting a project 👍
Thank you for looking for us, great pics
First time watching your videos
Was looking for tee patterns in similar styles!! Thank you. I had seen some of them before but hadn't found the Square Tee or T3, which I might end up using!
Great video! Thanks for sharing 🧶
Great video. I love knitted tees. I've knit 10 different patterns in the last few years (and a few patterns multiple times). One of my favorites is the Rock It Tee, which I plan to knit again in just one fingering yarn (vs as designed w/ mohair stripes). The Classic Tee (by Kay Hopkins) may meet your preferences - I've knit the v-neck version. I'm also test knitting the Tolsta Tee & loving it so far. I added the Seedling Tee to my favorites - thanks!
Thank you. Very valuable!
That was a great list of T-shirts! I'm always on the hunt for a good Tee.
Great choices
Thanks for sharing! As someone who lives in a very warm climate, I'm always looking for good summer patterns. I'm definitely adding the Seedling Tee and the Feels Right Tee to my to be knit list. =)
Suggestion please leave images of patterns up longer when knitting I look up and image is already gone.
Loved this video, thanks for your thoughtful comments! And 100% feel you on the t-shirt pockets - what are they even for?! lol
The ones that are in my list are Sea Salt Tee by Atelier Castin and Tee No. 1 by My Favourite Things which you might love too!
Hello, just caught you. I have knit the free pattern, The Perfect Knit Tee shirt in Knit Picks CotLin yarn. It was a good fit, just about 2 in positive ease, the icord on neck was good but needed to add more stitches to bottom icord to keep it from rolling. It works from the spring to the fall here in Florida. I keep looking into my stash to see what other yarns I could knit it with as I don’t have that many DK weight yarns personally. I enjoyed your research and the pointers you brought up, thank you for sharing. 😊
I’m quite fond of several! Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll probably start with the Sandy Beach “Sweater”, then Summer Leaque, Riley, and Cumulous. But I think I need to do a few others in my favorites first…but there are now 49😬
These are some great options. I can’t wait to look at these patterns further and hopefully plan some summer knits. I just started testing the Telstar Tee by Rebecca from the CreaBea. I’m excited for it as it has the options for you to have a more classic tee vibe or customize it into a statement tee
That tee looks gorgeous too!! Excited to see all the different variations come out
thank u. I ve been knitting for 32 yrs and never knitted a top down. I feel I have more control on length and finishing the neck as sometimes I change it up a bit after getting to know the look . So many of these r top down
Interesting insights.
Thats a great list and overview❤ Perhaps you could keep a picture of the tee onscreen while you’re discussing it? Thanks for the ravelry bundle link - subscribed😀
Great selections. I have the purl soho tee queued up as mr summer t-shirt. I’ve knit with Cabou. It’s no fun. Unfortunately it’s the yarn of choice for knitting knockers. Thanks for the content.
I hate cap sleeves too, also not fond of deep plunging necklines, and/or boat necks. So loving your vlog. Looking too for the perfect summer top pattern when I came across your channel.
I love Cooboo!
Thank you for the great review. New to your channel. As I am watching your video, I'm in the process of knitting my second Lea by Novita Tee. I knit another one last year, and wasn't sure about the boat neckline (I have braod shoulders) but I liked the end result. My second take on this design is with some, reclaimed cotton yarn from a commercial sweater that I unraveled. The yarn is much finer, but the simple construction (it's a true T shape) makes it easy to change the gauge.
I also have patterns to knit the Perfect Tee and the Cumulus. I am curious as to why you did not like knitting the Cumulus. Was it too long to knit? My daughter knit it last year, and as I de from taking long due to the small gauge, I don't believe she had any issues.
You provided some interesting options, I like the Square Tee (square necklines flatter my figure) and the Novita top that you recommended is really pretty. Going to add these to my queue 👍
I would to love to find out what yarns you use for summer tops. I also find wool is a too warm for summer.
I think the Knit Me Baby One More Time t-shirt by Lyrical Knits fits all your criteria. It’s definitely on my life.
I really appreciate your intensive research and I feel lucky that I happened serendipitously upon your channel. One question, just what about knitting the cumulus tee was so off-putting? I would love to know. Thank you so much for this informative deep dive!
Wow, loved this video, thank you. Got a new viewer out of me.
I actually made Original Lovely's Perfect Crochet Tee (just because I liked the stitch pattern more than the knit one), but hoo boy the Coboo yarn kind of ruined it XD The gauge is almost impossible to get, and after blocking it stretched and is more lacy, so I have to wear something underneath the shirt (like a tank or something), and as a result, it makes it so warm that it's not a great Summer tee...which was the whole point. Sigh.
VERY impressed with that Riley Tee, I have been struggling to find something that actually looks like a good Summer wear that isn't a lacy top to put over something else or isn't a tank itself. I'm currently working on a DK weight v-neck "sweater" in an acrylic blend that feels like it will be perfect for my Canadian Spring-to-Summer-time, but when the seasons change, the stuff you want to make always follows along.
Hello, it was very informative, and I think I will try two of the patterns you recommended. I would have loved if you would have left the picture of the tee you were speaking about so I could reference with what you were saying about it.
Thank you! Super patterns! New sub. :)
Just found your podcast…wonderful I guess I will have watch them all to find out where you are from? US for sure as you spell FIBER in American.
I also miss details about your beautiful makes on Ravelry. Good job.❤️🇨🇦❤️
Double take tee by Espace Tricot is a free tee shirt pattern and it's fabulous xx
Didn't knit it yet, but I really want to knit the Gingkgophyte tee. It is gorgeous
great video!! i plan on knitting the me oh my tee in noro kakigori this spring.. i have two big skeins so im gonna knit a matching pair of boxer shorts too?? the balcony shorts. those are my spring knitting dreams
OMG that is an amazing idea I have the balcony shorts on my list to knit too!!
@@futurefiber would be so cool to match hehe 🌸
I have never heard anyone else say chesticle area before! I thought I was the only one.
Currently knitting the Monica Geller tee by Sari Nordlund
I completely agree with you on cap sleeves. Not complimentary. A T made with fingering weight will have a really nice flow of fabric. 👍 I’ve been looking for a good summer T pattern so I appreciate your video 😁
Hello and thank you for this list! You have a lot of tees that I haven't seen before and I'm excited to add them to my list. Hope you're having a good start to your week :)
I wonder if you’d like the Monica Geller Tee by Sari Nordlund. I plan to knit it at some point this summer
barely 3 minutes in and I'm in tears laughing at the late-2000's, early 2010's trends that you also went through. I feel like maybe you're in your mid to late 20's, because I, too, had the Abercrombie and Fitch tank top under a v-neck phase.
😉
Great video!! I too am anti cap sleeve like why??? A favorite of mine which is easy to modify is Tails by Lori Versace
I love the collar on your blouse. Did you sew it? Or was it RTW. I did like a couple of T's in your video but I like a fitted bodice with a flared bottom ( just so it does not cling.). So not really into plain Tees.
Hi, have you looked at Marte Helgetun patterns? She has several great basic tees that might fight into your criteria.
Urchin tee by truly myrtle is a great fit.
"we all feel some type of way about stockinette" 😂
Im just thinking about Tee No. 1 by My Favourite Things
I like that we all have the same fashion trauma 😭
look at the sari Nordlund cocco tee to
Thanks for your expertise and willingness to go down the rabbit hole on this subject. My only problem will be deciding which one I want to do fist!
Omg Coboo is honestly the worst 😭I fully looked up reviews before I bought it when I started knitting and ignored the negative reviews bc it was a cheap and soft natural fibre. Thinking about the splittyness gives me ptsd
I made my first knitted garment out of it and I almost threw the whole hobby away because of it 😭
I used the blue color and had only a little bit of a hassle till I learned how to avoid the split with the needle....you have to dig deep into the stitch...kind of hard to explain. Love the texture.
round and cap sleeve is a NO from me too 🙅♀ but u know i'm a sweater vest girlie even in the summer
😭when you showed the tank under tee look i got middle school war flashbacks
this video will cost me money haha
😂 I put all of these in my ravelry cart and have been hesitating to check out for 2 weeks so I feel youu
Poppy tee by Petite knit, as I just knit the Wolke,by ..? , I do like it but the sleeves are a bit weird, extra bunchy under the arm. So I think instead of knitting the Wolke again, I will by petite knits brand new pattern, the poppy tee, it’s sport weight.
I just started on the Perfect Knit Tee--my first sweater--a few weeks ago. It was neat to see it as one of your recommendations. So far, so good?
Spoke too soon? I completed the 81st row in the pattern, and although that should and does make the pattern over 11 1/2 inches at that point,(28 rows/4"=7 rows/inch, right? At that point, the pattern says to continue to knit more rows in order to reach 10 inches.
