Some of my favorite stitch markers are the ones I made myself. So much fun! I do wire wrapping jewelry so it's been fun to combine my hobbies. Sewing bags, making markers, etc. Who knew knitting would be the hobby of all hobbies to combine all my loves!

I so agree! I love that knitting has so many side hobbies where you can make your own stitch markers and project bags and any other gadgets you’d like. I even have a friend that has a 3D printer and uses that for knitting tools. So fun! Thanks so much for watching 😊

Loved this format! I'm also a big fan of knitting gadgets and for some time I felt guilty for it. On youtube I've seen multiple of videos talking about overconsumption and what you *actually* need. I think if you use the things you have and they bring you joy then rock it baby.

I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! I’ve definitely tried to strike a balance between what is necessity and keeping things simple and having things that I enjoy and make the process easier or more enjoyable for me. I totally agree with your sentiment!

This was such a fun video, thanks for sharing! I always keep some sticky notes and a pen in my notions pouch just in case I need to write something down.

Enjoyed this video Sarah. Would you consider doing a video on your sock knitting style (as mentioned in your video)? as a learner and a beginner garment knitter and still struggling with socks but have a strong desire to knit one would really appreciate seeing different techniques. Thank for sharing your crafty adventures :)

I’m so glad you enjoyed! I like that idea and could do something like that in the future. I’ll have to do some planning, so in the meantime I suggest you check out The Crazy Sock Lady on UA-cam and Summer Lee on UA-cam and Instagram! They’re both amazing sock knitters that have some great tips for beginner sock knitters. I just got Summer Lee’s book, The Sock Project, which I believe would be a great resource for you as it talks about a lot of different sock techniques and has some fun patterns.

I’m so glad this video could show you their usefulness! What do you typically store your projects in?

@@sarahs.handmakes on my shelf to collect dust. When I wonna take them with me I pull them into a cottonbag with my notionsbag. Sometimes I store them in the boxes the yarn came with. Not that pleasant. I‘m afraid I could forget my wips if their are hidden.

At least you can see all your WIPs on the shelf! That would make it hard to take a project with you though. If you want to start using project bags, they don’t need to be anything fancy! I often use cotton drawstring bags that I got bedsheet sets in or an old purse or tote bag. It sounds like you do have a cotton bag you’ve used- that counts as a project bag!

@@sarahs.handmakes I use a Ziplock bag, pillowcases or old jewelry-bags (the ones that ties)
