We can talk all day about who would beat who and in what era. Yes and styles make fights. I love Mike but he would never beat Holyfield if they fought ten times. But to say that Tyson is a hype job to me is just wrong. Back in his prime, he was an indestructible force. His peekaboo style had an early shelf life.

Honestly, how can one compare someone like Archie Moore who as a Middleweight, Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight had a record of 220 Fights, 186 Wins, 132 KO's, 23 Losses, 10 Draws to any of these current boxers? When Earnie Shavers and George Foreman had more KO's than many modern fighters had total fights, can we even call a person the greatest considering that fact? Maybe at one time that boxer was the fastest, or that boxer was much better in their prime, yet the greatest boxer or fighter just does not equate considering these facts. Most of them are overrated!
I think you make a fair point about Mike Tyson. He had a few advantages, such as being shorter than most of the fighters in his weight division, which worked well with his peekaboo style. His combination of genetics and fighting style was unique in boxing at that time, and that's likely why he was so successful. The overwhelming aggression and emasculating force are the main reasons I admire Mike Tyson. He stood out in his era the same way Conor McGregor stood out in his.
