We can talk all day about who would beat who and in what era. Yes and styles make fights. I love Mike but he would never beat Holyfield if they fought ten times. But to say that Tyson is a hype job to me is just wrong. Back in his prime, he was an indestructible force. His peekaboo style had an early shelf life.

Mike Tyson was washed when he fought Lewis. Truth be told, he was washed when he fought Holyfield. Prime Mike Tyson was 1985-1988. After the passing of Customer D'Amato, his decline began. He wasn't the same without Cus. With that being said, during that brief window, I think the argument could be made that he was the best the heavyweight division has ever seen. He honestly did not have a great career because his period of dominance was too short, but during that time, he would have been a problem for anybody.

It’s good that money is being put into this brutal sport nowadays, I just don’t see why someone should make 20 M dollars from a fight, When there’s people starving……. The business side of boxing is why I’d never wanna actually persue a career in it, regardless of if I have the talent or skills to be something in it….and there’s so many fighters that are underrated. Honestly, how can one compare someone like Archie Moore who as a Middleweight, Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight had a record of 220 Fights, 186 Wins, 132 KO's, 23 Losses, 10 Draws to any of these current boxers? When Earnie Shavers and George Foreman had more KO's than many modern fighters had total fights, can we even call a person the greatest considering that fact? Maybe at one time that boxer was the fastest, or that boxer was much better in their prime, yet the greatest boxer or fighter just does not equate considering these facts. Most of them are overrated!

I think you make a fair point about Mike Tyson. He had a few advantages, such as being shorter than most of the fighters in his weight division, which worked well with his peekaboo style. His combination of genetics and fighting style was unique in boxing at that time, and that's likely why he was so successful. The overwhelming aggression and emasculating force are the main reasons I admire Mike Tyson. He stood out in his era the same way Conor McGregor stood out in his. To put it simply: Mike = Wrath, Conor = Pride. It's also interesting that both ended up on a similar path of drug use.

I like mike to a certain degree for his words, he’s entertaining but, not as a fighter a true fighter he doesn’t impress me in my opinion. Mike Tyson in his prime was definitely a force, but there’s also so many other forces in boxing that not many people know of. Everyone tuned into Jake Paul vs. Tyson, even myself. We were robbed of time, and Jake Paul held back against Tyson out of respect. I understand he’s old, but he is definitely over hyped. “R.I.P. jake paul” these people don’t know what they’re looking at.
Mike Tyson was one of a kind, and there’s a lotta people who try to emulate him and miserablly fail at trying to do mike tyson’s style. So he is special. And a knockout artist. Rubin visited Mike in Prison, did you know that?
