I was lucky enough to stumbled upon this guitar on a local store specialized in importing 2nd hand or old Japanese goods. I got it for $80 USD. It's missing a Volume knobs and the wiring has gone loose. I manage to clean it up & redo the wiring. It's now one of my favourite guitar. This guitar look "boutique" in real life or in your hand. Hopefully I will find another one in the future.
I really appreciate that you cleaned it and restored what was already there. You didn't repaint it, or upgrade the parts or modernize it. You made it shine again without taking away it's natural age or patina. Thank you for respecting this beautiful old guitar
Its a piece of shit guitar so it doesnt matter
He didn't do a setup, recrown the old frets, or make a new nut. 🤔
All he did was polish a turd.
@@mattrogers1946 I agree he should've done those things, but maybe he didn't have the tools available or something. But I'm every other regard I think he did a good job. Not everyone is a luthier. Maybe he handled the clean up and had a tech handle the set up later on. Maybe he's happy just to clean up the guitar.
I don't agree... But anyway... You know... It's a matter of taste!!
Cheers from Seville (Spain).
All the best.
🙂👍🇪🇦
I agree with everything but ohhhhhh that black paint fading onto the white was so hot.
So glad you were able to save the original finish!👍👍Guyatone made some cool guitars back in the day for sure. Have you ever seen an original LG200-T, it's often said that was their best.
I never realised until I started watching this channel, just how many old guitars have been refinished - it’s almost like nothing ever ends up the same colour as it started!
the intonation on this guitar is a nightmare, but the guitar itself is beautiful and the pickups sound awesome
Great job my friend, my first guitar in the 70s was a Guyatone
グヤトーンは日本で最初にエレキギターを作ったメーカーだ。アンプやエフェクターも作っていたが、結局倒産してしまった。
Good sound.👍
You really outdid yourself keeping this one as original as possible. Respect 🫡
You bring the dead back to LIFE! You are a Saint.
great job. beautiful guitar
I found out these 60s Mosrite style or Jazzmaster style guitar from guyatone was heavily used by teenager or small band back in 60s.
The guitar was heavily influenced by The ventures from live at japan.
You did a nice job on this!
Some great old school Off Minor on this one. Your appreciation of early 2000 post hardcore doesn't go unnoticed, great work!
I feel that the spirit of this guitar is reborn. Such skill and a beautiful guitar.
That guitar came out amazing! Great work.
I am getting a strange fascination with those Guyatone guitars...
I thought it was a Guyatone but I wasn't sure...
You've taken guitar restoration to a whole new level and you turned it into a true art form...
looks like an LG150-T
@@bbbeans6480 Thanks 🙂 I was just wondering which model it was...
Body shape looks exactly like a univox hiflier, just routed for different parts.
Guitars made in Japan have wonderfully shaped bodies! Thank you for helping them look beautiful.❤
This is a Mosrite clone, which is actually an American design. 99% of Japanese guitars in those days were clones. It wasn't until companies like Ibanez got sued that they started coming out with original designs. But some of their clones were still very well built and can fetch big bucks even today.
Thanks, Felix!
Old guitars never die they just have better stories to tell
Vintage and glamour. Epic!
チョイスするギターがマジで自分の好みとぴったりで最高。
I really love the shovel of that guitar!!
That shape is so beautiful...!!
But, I believe that you should have Sandblasted and erased the cracking paint of the front side of the shovel, as well as the whole cracking paint from the body.
You could have re-painted it in sparkle black. It would look more aggressive and elegant at the same time... And those cracks hurt...😖
Anyway... Good job, man!!
My admiration from Seville (Spain)🇪🇦
The first demo tune you played gives me God You Black Emperor vibes. Very good.
it's italian screamo! la fine non è la fine by la quiete!
The nicest restoration yet!
late comment- 24:21 the rust soup looks tasty, 10/10 would drink
Awesome design for a string tree which should have caught on!
Amazing work on an amazing guitar. Hearing Ekkaia playing on it made my hackles stand up. Thank you for this double pleasure
the bridge saddles, held in place by only string tension but with the retainer cover, look similar to Brian May's Red Special Bridge saddles. Except with his break a string and they just fall out! Fascinating Mosrite/Jaguar -inspired space-aged style. its like every part was artfully designed with aesthetic of form and function
I love the funky-looking guitars of this era, your Silvertones and Danelectros and what not. Where it **almost** looks like a toy guitar, but it's not.
Great stuff! And a lot of Slint no? 🎸✊🏽👍🏽
This is like, the best guitar tone I've ever heard
😂😂
You're an amazing unique player as well. Very abstract cool demo you did with it.
That's a beautiful clean-up and restoration job!
Except there was no set up.
Man, I loved my Memphis les paul and flying v.
Que som, e como é bom ouvir guitarras vintage , totalmente diferente desse mar de guitarras de hj e seus som todos iguais
Parabéns
Lovely restoration!!
All it needs after all that meticulous cleaning is a good setup: intonation, string height, trussrod adjustment.
Looks to be in great condition for its age 👍😎
I simply love these 'reverse' shape guitars - Mosrite, Aria Urchin, Firebird....
I wish I would find one like this Guyatone nearby.
🙏
Ты где тут реставрацию увидел? Ни одна деталь не была отреставрирована. Гитару просто почистили и почистили к тому же не очень.
@@Aleks62106the terrible re paint was taken off and restored to its original colour, very long and difficult process. Then detailed again
Love the guitar and his clean old shape! Now I would like to have one😄
thank you so much for playing la quiete! lots of love from italy!
i want that guitar
Hello ! Beautiful restoration, so is this amazing old guitar ! Thank you for the video, we discoverd a nice guitar !
Came out good
i love this guitar i too love fixing them up to play like this feels great when they sing again..guyatone lg150t very neat
That thing looks so cool !
Guya Tone Guitars sell for $400 to $1800 US, they're appreciated in all ranges of condition, but generally better off unrestored, I'm glad you chose that path! This is a very interesting part of Japans history in electric guitars, an experimental era from what I've seen. Some of GT's models were simple flat slabs of wood, while others are complex combinations of electronics, and design elements that remind me of Fender Jaguar's, some were semi hollow body, and borrow from more American body styles, like the Gibson DC, and ES series. GT certainly developed their own very interesting and unique style, elegant and radical curves, with extreme cuts and headstock designs, the quality is all over the place, as you'd expect from a maker with a wide range of models, so while the playability is questionable and likely dependent on your style of playing, nobody can deny their collectability as pieces of art, and part of Japans rich historical partnership with musicians all over the world to create something new and interesting, imagine where we'd be without the imagination of Japanese luthiers, to this day some of the best Fender Stratocasters, and "super strats" were/are Japan made :)
This Bridge an saddle system is amazing. Very interesting
loved that first little riff in the playing section
That's "La fine non è la fine" by La Quiete. Nice screamo/emoviolence band
I have seen all your videos you do excellent work of restoring them
i was so hoping that this one would get fully repainted, but i understand why you didn't. beautiful work!
ビザールをきれいにするのも良いですね
That was an amazing transition. It was cool that you could get the guitar into its original condition. Thanks for the demo of its sound.
LOVE these old guitars, they have so much soul dripping from 'em it's ridiculous! Good job on the restoration, by the way!
😁👍
I have watched a few of your videos. You do awesome work. Great job!
Wow! This is really a wonderful old Guyatone!!! Love the Mosrite like shape.
I was surprised when I skipped to the end first to see the result, the guitar has changed colour. That's how you know the whole video is worth watching haha
What an insanely cool guitar. That shape is really awesome.
Loved the Off Minor Riffs
That bridge tail piece is so damn cool!
Thank you I purchased a old had to be at least 12 years old ibanez gio 6 string bass in black from a flea barn got it home removed everything cleaned it it looks amazing.
Reminds me of Johnny Ramone's favorite guitar model
Vecchia io ma o solo quanche anno in piu ma quante storie ho vissuto e qunte ne vivro ancora adesso che sonon nel futuro ciaio a tutti amici miei😌😅🤣😂
I love how the bridge is just *suggesting* intonation
Your playing are bless for my ears. Good job!
i forgot I was watching with the playback speed at 1.5X ......so at the end when the playing starts i was like "DAMN, this Dude is Slick!"
I love anything that has a Mosrite vibe. That is a badass gitfurther. That is a Guyatone LG-150T
This channel is amazing- new find. Keep up the good work!
Beautiful job my friend. Well done...
The Bridge is amazing
Love watching your restorations, really amazing! For sure need to look at accurate intonation though, the saddles were all in a row so sounded really out of tune up the neck. Love your work though dude, very impressive!
グヤトーンのギターだ!すげー!
Super Guyatone!
Fascinating video, and that thing sounded really good after you finished with it. Good work!
The.original color is beautiful
The skill, expertise and valuable time has to be included into the resale value of this vintage guitar. Wonder what is the asking price...?
what a beauty! Great job.
Great job getting the pickguard to shine !
never seen i guitar with this shape before, amazing work!
Nice, sympathetic restoration...
That is one of the most unique bridge and tailpiece designs i have seen. Very cool!👍
What a strange guitar.that bridge and tremolo system…..interesting. Ready to rock for the next sixty years!
Interesting way to adjust intonation. Very cool.
Obviously a copy of a Mosrite guitar. I have seen that headstock before but cannot remember the makers name. Some of those old guitars can sound amazing!!! I enjoyed your video. Rock on!!!!
Wow. Meticulously performed and excellent outcome! Amazing work. Congratulations. Best Regards and Best Wishes!
I had a Guyatone many years ago, similar to that one. Great job!!!!
Keep these guitars coming!!
Looks like a nice neck...
Spectacular! I love your videos. Always fascinating to watch these instruments come back to life. Excellent work.
you are amazing ! keep up the good work ! I also love the way you play the guitar, its GREAT !
Love your dedication and skills!
デザインカッコ良すぎる!ベースかと思った
Nice work! Love that headstock and the bridge intonation mechanism is pretty ingenious, but what a pain when changing strings and it slips 😄. As always, great demo as well. Keep up the good work!
It would probs be better to swap it out for a tune-o-matic
@@fuchsia5899 yeah i would've done that.
Fascinating to see how well it cleaned up….Excellent work
Gorgeous guitar, and restoration job. Now get to work on restoring your trousers.
Very cool restoration!
Guitarra linda!! Ótima restauração, like e inscrito
I'm a big fan of Japanese copy guitars. Headstock is Ausome! Really exaggerated.
Love those old Guyatone pickups. I have one on a Strat; sounds amazing... I think David Lindley and Ry Cooder were big fans of Guyatone pickups too...
thats a cool mosrite copy..
I had a Japanese Hyundai guitar strat copy from the 80s once. It would have been my favorite guitar but it needed fixed so I sold it
COOL GUITAR!
