    That is TRUE recyclying! You threw out the pick guard and the knobs and that is it. (For good reason.) Now that guitar is ready for another 50+ years of enjoyment. Nice job on the screws and all the metal parts. Amazing work!

    Asyl, this is aweome. I especially appreciate how you left the headstock slightly scarred in memory of the guitars prior experience as a testing ground for a blowtorch. You are the man.

    Wonderful restoration but even better choices of riffs to demonstrate it with! I thought riffs in other videos sounded Rodan-like and hearing slint on this one confirms to me that I enjoy your playing as much as your repair/restoration!

    That was beautiful, great restoration job!
    It hacks me off to no end that someone would let a USA made Fender Strat get that decrepit, but your restoration saved it! Hopefully the next person who owns it will appreciate it all the more.

      I agree, it gave it so much character. The guitar was actually pretty cool all burnt up, with a matching melted neck. You can still see the fender logo fine I think it would've been cool to keep it all burnt up but obviously that's going to hurt the resale...I'm sure his intention was to sell it after restoring it. Just looks very basic after the restore. But on the bright side there's virtually no trace it was ever burned up. Personally, I would've kept it in its burned state. It tells a story and gives the guitar alot of character...

      @@diddydoo5299 Right? Some pretty bad ass character. It’s really no different than an extremely relic’ed guitar but with very uncommon wear. I bet if Fender made a “Melted Strat” as a custom shop limited run they would sell out instantly for thousands a piece. 🤣

    In 1921, Myra Brooks Welch wrote a poem called “The Touch of the Master’s Hand”. The poem tells the story of an old and battered violin that was to be auctioned but the highest bid the auctioneer could get for the instrument was a mere $3. That is, until a master violinist stepped forward and played the violin. It sounded so beautiful in his hands that it eventually sold in the auction for $3,000.
    You are the master today. You salvaged a rare, 60th anniversary Stratocaster that had been abused, neglected, and set on fire. You turned a tragedy into a treasure. Congratulations!

    On the end of the guitar where you put in dowels where the strap buttons had broken off, if you have that situation again, I would suggest putting the body in a vise and routing a groove and then install a piece of matching wood. Great work overall!

    Beautiful job and craftsmanship. Wish you would have gotten rid of the orange peel effect in the paint. More wet sanding and spraying the clear coat indoors were needed.

    Is very interesting than in 2006, the American Deluxe Strat bodies were made in Mexico. The little round holes in neck pocket and under pickguard are specific for the cnc in mexican Fender factory.

    If possible, could you use microphone for the sound test segment instead of using the iPhone built in microphone? This will immediately increase the watching experience.

    Nice job, but a USA pickguard should have been used because one of the screws is not in the right position. (above middle pickup)

    when extracting the bridge anchors, have you tried dropping in a small screw in to the hole and then tightening in the original bridge post thats how i usually pull out those threaded inserts on gibsons, its done in seconds and doesnt leave any bruises.
