One thing about these transformations is you get to see the actual quality of the guitar build. You can't hide the bones on these restorations. Great work as always, my dude!!
It's not a dude, it's a girl. And it's fake.
Shout out to this technician who did not utter a word of frustration during this restauration, truly inspiring.
I would have cussed my way through the whole task.
Indeed.
But it also shows magic is real...
How come you guys never do a complete fret job???
@@davidkornblatt851because it's fake. Grow up.
@@fdfsdfsvsfgsg4888I could be wrong but were there some dents in some of the frets in this video?
It didn’t look like a bad guitar, it looked like someone made it their own.
i agrre, but it needed to be cleaned. But the paint and sticker gave it aestethics
You can make a guitar your own, hell I do, but please don't let them fall into this level of disrepair
Well the painted hardware is what made it bad. Also the rough looking tape on the back of the neck would make it unplayable to me (I prefer a raw oiled neck).
@@DarkAvatar1313 satin finish on the neck for me
seeing abandoned guitars, especially ones like this, really makes you wonder about the previous owner(s). like, how they were as a person, what kind of music the played, what kind of life they lived, etc.

I sense a little Stairway To Heaven here!
I really like this piece You've written here! 😊
It's beautiful!
This is one of the better sticker bombs I have seen. Lots of personality in that guitar. This might be the only restoration where I feel a little sad for the guitar; sometimes a good sticker is like a tattoo
As always, I like the demo the best. This demo shows how versatile the electric guitar is in the hands of an accomplished guitarist. I’m impressed.
Yeah, great variety of genres
Fernandes are such ridcoulusly great guitars (at least their Japaneze 80s-90s ones), so this one was definitely worth saving.
I never understood the whole stickerbomb thing. Especially busting out the spray paint to completely ruin the instrument. These restorations are so satisfying. Amazing that most of these can be rescued.
Maybe you never understood the whole stickerbomb thing because you lack the artistic vision and creativity to appreciate it. Maybe busting out the spray paint is not ruining the instrument, but giving it a new life and identity. Maybe these restorations are not satisfying, but boring and predictable. Maybe most of these can be rescued, but some of them don’t need to be. Maybe it’s all to make you question yourself. 🤔
@@-Desultory- lmao chill ? Either you are 15 or the bar is very low if you consider slapping some ugly ass stickers and spray paint haphazardly on an perfectly fine instrument some "artistic vision" ahaha
lol. So true!!@@Griefhand
@@-Desultory- all personal preference i agree... some strategically made sticker bombs can look pretty cool with that kind of slapped together look most people who go for a sticker bomb look try to achieve. But a lot of people just plainly put, arent good at sticker bomb. And to not like the look of a finish as finicky as sticker bomb definitely can not just be chalked up to "lack of artistic vision" as you put it.
I think your missing the overall meaning of my post. But I'm not going to get into a youtube thread fight/argument over it. I do like your reply though.
This video brings the “squeaky clean” expression to a whole new level
You can say someone's trash is someone else's treasure. What a find!
Am i the only that thinks this guitar look awesome with that green paint job
Yes
@@jessphuqette1716 bro said what 90% of us wanted, but didn't had the courage to
who new under that paint and stickers was a great color and finish nice turn out i would be happy to own it
beautiful work ♥️
I would love to see you work on a fender Jazzmaster one day, my favourite guitar!
Beautiful job!!
Amazing🔥🔥🔥 Great Work 💪
An amazing transformation as always.
I almost see the appeal of the splattered paint job with the stickers and all that but i personally like a nice guitar myself. I can't blame you for cleaning this up.
Sounds amazing
Nice rescue/restoration!
what a beautiful result 👍
I like the way you used a rag under your tool when you removed the pickup selector tip..... might as well have not bothered and made life easier when stripping it down!
Excellent reformation man. IMO, that particular version of the Floyd Rose is well worth keeping. They almost never go out of tune when they are set up right. I have a few different iterations of Floyds and the earlier models with those types of saddles are solid. Great looking guitar and amazing cleanup.
I luv the restoration work. But there is a little part of me that appreciates the creativity that the previous player put into his tool. It tells a story. If that artist became someone the guitar would be in a museum and cherished. Guitar companies would be making signature series. It’s hard to tell if restoration is just setting it back to a stock(beautiful) guitar or is history of that musician’s journey is being erased…. Ready for its new user…
Yep, I would guess the previous owner must have been a Green day fan... Looks strongly reminiscent to Bille Joe Armstrong's 'Blue', also a Fernandes...
If you look closely theres actually very little wear on the guitar, no rust in the bridge saddles and the frets were pretty ok. I think the previous owner never actually got serious about playing guitar and just messed around with the paint and stickers.
All that tape on the neck whould seriously hinder playability
@@elwolf8536 Absolutely!
That came out great!
What a great job in this guitar, excellent!!! Congrats!!!
Very cool and underated guitar. Great Job!! You are a pro!!🎸👹🎸
that's a nice guitar, they make good stuff for sure.. nice score
This looks like a Fernandes Dragonfly Elite from the 2000's. Amazing guitars. The sustainer is worth every penny.
So relaxing to watch.
Bella chitarra, molto versatile!! ❤
Great job!
Best job!! 👏💪
The active hambucking's sustain is awesome.
More like a resurrection than a rebuild.Keep them coming.
I like the OEM paint finish a lot better 😊
Great wet dry wet setup you could get with that 5150 and that stereo chorus Roland. All the best.
My Fernandez Gravity X bass from 2006/7 has exactly the same finish and it looks beautiful in stage lighting.
Solvents are a great thing at times like this, for sure. You got all that paint and those stickers off in very short order, it appears, and once that shiny silver finish came out, it was a sight to behold. I could tell you were enjoying playing around with the sustainer feature too and it sounded great with the clean tone. Good work as always, sir!
Another wonderful restoration...
Keep up the good work!
😊👍🏻
Fantastic transformation! That's a keeper for sure!👍👍👍🎸
I liked the paint job the way it was
Great restoration. So much work on removing those stickers! I had two early 90's Fernandes guitars and they were superb. One was a red Strat copy with gold hardware and one was an APG 100, which looked like a dark brown PRS. Sold the APG, regret it now. I can't find the Strat! Guessing it is in some dark basement corner of a house that I may have practiced in. I am going to start calling around for it. I really enjoy your videos.
I'm your fans from Malaysia. Great work bro
Great work, but I liked the way it looked before the restoration… it had character and looked pretty sharp
Me too. The green version was totally cool, the grey one...pretty meh. Says a lot that it's the green "before" version of guitar in the thumbnail that gets the clicks. The restored guitar would be totally ignored if it was used as the thumbnail image. Nice restoration work all the same. But also a total removal of personality and history of the guitar.
@@robertdouble559
Yes, of course, they almost always look better before ...although, some people think this is kinda fake and he creates these himself before he starts cleaning, if that's true he does it the wrong way round ; )
Me too

Who does this to a guitar? Are they crazy? Good job restoring it…..I love your videos!

@studio asyl We'd all love to see a video where you go to find these guitars.
It's amazing how many painted and stickered over guitars one man can find!
😁
I can't help suspecting he's painting/stickering them himself, it seems impossible that you'd find that many guitars decorated that way, all with a similar aesthetic
@@daverice2426 Yeah, of course he is. Sorry if my sarcasm wasn't obvious lol
I can't believe anybody thinks he "finds" all these guitars in this condition. Clearly staged.
That was epic! You are truly a magician when it comes to bringing abused guitar s back to life. And it sounded fantastic. Keep up the great work
😂sorry bud. These are staged. They take guitars in fantastic shape and then they splatter them with filth or faux paint and then post stickers all over them. It all comes off way to easily and the guitars are always immaculate.
@@Robster-Craw I dunno about that, some of those stickers are ancient. That Shure sticker is from the 90s. The frets always seem to be in too good of condition though to me, so perhaps you are right.
@@ScottyBrockway I have 40 year old stickers I never stuck on anything from kisw 99.9 seattle and some bands. So I mean I get what you're saying but just because it's old doesn't mean it was on there since the time it was new.
That was a very punk rock guitar in the beginning. I respect it, several bandmates have had similar. I like mine to stay looking new.
It looks like a wide, flat fretboard. I really like the way you play man, such a fretboard would be right at home with that classical technique.
Somehow I like it more before the clean up, much more vibe and character😂
great transformation, such a beautiful guitar, and it sounds really good. i would have been nerves doing the pickups. dont let the fake hater's stop you from doing stuff like that. even if its staged, gives people inspiration to do stuff like this them selves, and not be afraid to do it them selves. keep up the great vids.
But you did clean it up good. And you are also a really beautiful guitar player
I forgot all about Fernandez, great basses.
lets be honest, we all look forward to the demonstration at the end of these vids
This is my favourite show on youtube. Keep up the good work, mate.
Much better beautiful
Seeing the original paint finish I can see why he painted it. A better idea would have been to give it a better finish similar to what he tried. So Jackson Pollack style splatter on a dip paint job. Or maybe laser etch a design on it before selling it on. Like the Millennium Falcon or something.
Restorations are fun, but I like rebuilds with some new hardware, sanding, wood filler, new paint, wet sand and buff.
This is one of the artistic guitar restoration that I have ever seen. Good work.
Bot.
@@fdfsdfsvsfgsg4888 ??
I just use Linseed oil on my fretboards, except my Rickenbacker of course 😅 Nice guitar you’ve got there. Well done.🇬🇧🏴
Again, amazing, beautiful. Your work is so satisfying! Absolutely Love it! 👌👌👌I always eagerly look forward to your uploads! Full speed ahead!
Maaan, this Fernandes is gorgeous without all that crap.
The first solvent in the big red can is Lacquer Thinner.
I read all these comments and no one ever say anything about the way he just skips making the frets look good . Polishing doesn’t make them even or gets rid of string grooves. Any good luthier flattens then crowns , then polishes.
I have wondered the same thing. There's never any fret work or neck adjustments, even on guitars that look way worse than this one in his other videos.
I appreciate your skill and expertise in the restoration. That said, I liked the way the original looked. Felt like a sacred, and loved object with a rich history and it hurt a little seeing all that stripped away to look like a product on a shelf.
It looked like shit with all of those stickers
Agreed..That lime green punk guitar looked amazing.so much character..I would have removed a few choice stickers maybe and blended the green crazy to the back and sides...much more interesting to look at!
Obviously the previous owner was a Static-X fan, considering they are a favorite band of mine? That was cool to see.
Like it more as it was before!
Nice work ❤
that paint job was dope, I would of left it and seal coated it, and just cleaned the fretboard, looked cool on the Floyd and the pickups
31:26 Holy amp, that’s the next project
When you put the springs in like that the two outside ones don’t hardly work because the have been made longer so only the middle one is working. Things you should know if you want to make people think you know what you’re doing.
Except for the paint and the stickers, it is the guitar in the best condition you have ever made video 🤣
This guitar screams 80s in both tone and aesthetics.
Wow, what an atrocity of a guitar. (Before, of course.) Good thing you were wearing gloves. 😂 Excellent work buddy. From 🤮 to 🤩. 🎸👍
Nice...
I have this same guitar in black, it was imported from Japan via Australia to me in Vancouver

I ask for the names of all the songs played at the end)))🙏🙏🙏 A colossal amount of work has been done in this video (as in all others) I love watching your work before going to bed. You are the best!
A Fernanadez with a sustainer....lucky find. Looks like the crap on the body and neck preserved it to some extent.

I recently got a pair of effed up guitars like this.
People just do whatever they like, who cares, let live.
That is a very nice guitar, are all the pickups an active and passive mix?
Great restoration! The stickers and paint saved the original paint. And you have a jazz-chorus 120. ❤
Hello Friend, thank you for this amazing video ! Hopefully, beneath the amount of stickers and painting sprays, the paint and the parts were very well preserved. This made in USA Fernandes is also a very good guitar with excellent equipments. Bravo Man, super nice job. Thanks again, see you soon...
